Americano in Camden

A service charge of 17.5% was added to our bill without us knowing. Wouldn't have minded so much but the prices were high anyway, and service was terrible. Waited ages, then when the coffees came they were not what was ordered.

The waitress got our 2 coffee orders wrong and did not put in our order for cold platter. Even after a 45 minute wait for it and my going into the place to ask, it took another 15 minutes! Staff attitudes were nonchalant and unprofessional and uncaring. None of the 3 staff on duty with a very quiet day checked if we needed anything else nor waited on us which is in their job title. I said I would not pay the full bill so when I went inside to pay I had no idea what my bill was, I was told by mr grumpy that he'd taken off tge service charge. I said I wasn't happy and he said he had deducted the coffees too, but how would I know that!!!! Also, aren't service charges optional? Hated this place, hated it. Only thing going for it was that it was next to the canal and the sun was shining, neither of which they can be congratulated for.
