Had to wait fourty minutes outside the shop for the our order, was told twenty minutes went back in and then got told another £20, nothing for inconvience, will not be back.

Had a lovely meal & drinks at Ameera with family on holiday visiting from Tenerife, it was Amazing yet again.thank you.

The staff are very welcoming and friendly. They do a banquet menu for £11.95. This comes with poppadom, any starter, any main, any rice or naan and ice cream or coffee. I think this is very good value. The food was really good, tasty and fairly spicy but they can accommodate you. When we went they were cash only, so bare this in mind. They could do with replacing the chairs as you fall though some. Also some minor cosmetic issues that could benefit from repair, like damage to the wall.

Booked a table for valentines day at 6 and when we turned up the restaurant was closed. Had no call to say it wasn't going to be closed.

I love this place, the food is lush. Arrived piping hot. Special thali (not sure I spelled that right) however it is a bargain enough for two decent portions not massive if you prefer huge portion add another rice and starter. So tasty will be back 😋

Ordered by phone and asked for the food to be ready for 7.30pm giving them at least 45 minutes to prepare and told no problem. Arrived at the allotted time to be told that the order was not ready and it would be at least 10 minutes as they were busy and asked to sit and wait. That is fair to ask but the fumes from cooking from the kitchen were overbearing and I said that the order should have been ready and decided not to bother. Why oh why do places like these not consider customer service to be a priority and will find another place to order food.

Absolute joke, ordered and waiting for over 2 hours now and they wont even answer the phone to me. Stupid way to run a business and too scared to answer the phone, childish idiots

Ordered via Justeat. Delievery didnt take too long for 3 adults on a Friday night. Food lovely & good portions. Garlic & cheese nann wasn't the best as had sliced cheese in it rather than proper cheese but still nice. Saag paneer was amazing.

Popped in to the restaurant for food at the weekend and this place never disappoints. Extensive menu and the owner and staff are always friendly and hospitable. Great food and great service in a relaxing atmosphere, you don’t need anything else. I’ve eaten in a lot of places around the country (and abroad) and Ameera for me is up there with the best. For this reason I cannot understand why anyone would not want to give this restaurant a five star review. Will certainly be back as this place is a gem. Thanks for a brilliant meal and brilliant service.

Away from Leicester, you are not likely to find a great Indian cuisine. But we had a delicious food, amazing taste twice during our stay. Definitely worth if you are nearby.

We've NEVER had a bad or even an average meal from Ameera's. Tonight we got yet another fantastic meal and we could not recommend them enough. Brilliant food, fantastic selection and delivered in great time too. I would give 10 stars if possible. By far and away the best Indian takeaway in our area.

Ameera treated us to a meal that was a delight. The main reason was food cooked with a rich depth of spices that could be appreciated by moderating the heat. Hot enough to give a punch, but not so hot as to overpower the taste. Great balance that needs great skill. Service was caring and interested without being overly humble obsequiousness. Well worth a repeat visit.

went to order on uber was £12.50 for the curry, rice & keema nan, £17 od with delivery so I decided to call the shop and order over the phone for collection, got to the shop, was charged £13.60 don't know why it would be more calling & collecting it directly from the shop and not from ubereats. very watery... taste wise was ok, chicken was abit chewy. nan bottom was hard top soft so half went in the bin would I buy from here again? no.

Ordered a takeaway for one. Food arrived an hour late cold, and curry was like soup. Having ordered and had food from here in the past (even Xmas dinner) it’s certainly let it’s standards slip. Dismal!

Pretty terrible. The chips were big, uncooked lumps of greasy potato. The chicken was ropey and the naan felt stale. The sauce was OK hence 2 stars. I'm here on holiday, but wouldn't order again if I was local. Was one of, if not the worst curry I've had

I came for a meal couple days ago the food was lovely enjoyed it the service was excellent the waiter was really good and friendly working hard up and down the just eat machine as it was going off they kept him busy bless him. The main issue was that the kitchen door was open and cigarette smoke was all around the kitchen and Lound sound as if the staff was shouting and fighting same time as some one in the kitchen was playing music I came for a meal to have in peace and enjoy the night Every couple minutes the chef in the kitchen is shouting and calling the front of house staff.

Order a meal by phone as their website was faulty. The driver turned up but made me come to the gate, they then wanted to charge an extra £3 for delivery!

Not one prawn in my ordered dish despite stating in the description. I will never visit this place again. £8.00 for 3 lungs of chicken and 3 lumps of lamb but not one single prawn. Absolute joke of a place. Do not go near this place.

Ordered a takeaway reluctantly after the last was very poor quality nearly inedible and was over 45 minutes late, ordered again tonight was told an hour max, 2 hours maybe more later no takeaway and hadn’t even left the place, idiot on the phone made matters worse

Great food and great staff, but delivery times are a nightmare (2 hours), although I do appreciate they may be busy. If you don't want the protracted wait I would advise collecting it yourself if possible.

One of the finest Indian restaurants in Ashington infact in UK, food is absolutely spot on and the staff over there are very friendly. Food is worth it and especially Ameera's special chicken Tikka masala is just finger licking good.

Decent food, nice selection and the prices are inline with the prices for most of the local Indian takeaways. This restaurant does have sit in and a bar but everytime I visit the only one sitting in the restaurant is their delivery driver. Not sure why as the restaurant looks decent enough.

Enjoyed a lovely night in Ameera, and had a smashing chat with the head waiter - a really nice guy who told us about his way of life/religion etc. Because the food was so nice we decided to order a takeaway via Just Eat - saw the price of delivery and spoke directly the the restaurant instead and debated the charge - only to be told by a stroppy young man, "if you don't like it" - order somewhere else"!! then he hung up the phone ! ok but I'm only half a mile away and ( won't be ripped off by your delivery charges - no worries mate - last time I'll patronise your business !

Ordered lamb tikka masala which was as thin as dish water (more like tomato soup) and contained 8 tiny rock hard malteaser sized pieces of meat. Onion bhaji was soggy and completely tastless, and peshwari nan was rock hard and seemed stale. Very disappointed and definitely wont be returning.

I ordered the Madras and it was like water with no flavour to it. I could understand if it had little to no spice but my wife who ordered the tandoori chicken masala said hers was very nice. She said if it was based on mine it would get 1* as it was like water but hers was lovely so we met half way. The takeaway menus are only valid till 30th October 2018 so goodness knows what the prices are. Picture of menu I picked up today 06/08/2020 attached. I can tell you this for 1x Madras, 1 X tandoori chicken masala, 1 veg pelau, 1 peas pelau, 2 nans and 2 poppadoms it was £25.30. Each dish had 5-6 bits of chicken (roughly 3/4 of a chicken breast). Not great value or product however I will try this place in a month or 2 and hopefully give you all a glowing review. I really want my local businesses to shine and invite my friends over but at the moment this place is (in my eyes) is over priced for what you get. I really hate being negative but there are a few positives in there. Let me know if it has changed or if I have just caught them on a bad day.

I have just ordered a dish of prawns for me and my family to share. We thought for roughly £8 there may be a lot in this dish. I opened to dish to share it out and I saw 3 prawns!!! We are appalled at the price of this for the amount we got. This should be taken off the menu or more prawns should be added immediately.

Had a takeaway meal from this establishment tonight 11/4/20 prompt delivery, but the food was superb, hot, plenty of meat, good sauce, exceptional flavour, all in all, a great experience.

The title counts in 3 ways.Firstly, I've not got a clue why we chanced it again when we'd had a poor take away here about 3 year ago. Actually, I do, about 2 year ago we tried the other "well reviewed" Indians and it too was dismal.Secondly, I've not got a clue how any of these other excellent 5 star reviews have happened.Finally, the chef clearly has not got a clue how to cook....anythingWe ordered Tikka Masala, yep, you heard right, bog standard Chicken in a Tikka sauce, even I can make that. This chef however can't. I've since read a review elsewhere which likened the sauce to Tomato soup. Wrong, tomato soup has taste & substance, this had neither. Manyyears ago (pre TA days) we had a meal at an Indians in Gosforth where they clearly added a full tin of Condensed milk to the Masala, For years it's been the worst I've ever tasted but If we'd had Carnation in the cupboard I'd have added it to this muck.Mushroom Pilau- stone cold, with hardly any mushroom in, it was as if they'd realised they'd made normal Pliau as they were bagging up the order and just dropped a couple of bits in.Onion Bhaji -soggy, thats all I could say about it other than I'm not sure it even contained onion. A Bhaji should be crispy and oniony, this wasn't.Chips- when I was a kid, I used to hate going to my Nana's as she made the worst chips I've ever tasted, white ones that had hardly even been introduced to hot fat. It's taken 40 years but I've finally put those chips to rest, sorry Nana, all is forgiven.And finally Nan bread, this bread is supposed to be cooked on the side of a clay oven not reheated in a microwave a week before its to be eaten. I'm fairly certain these had been frozen and then defrosted.There was nothing to redeem this meal, not a thing, and that is a feat in itself, normally you'd eat the edible stuff and leave the rest...Our bin now has heartburn.

Had a few Saturday night takeaways from here recently....nice choice on the menu and the food is really good but just a word of advice,if you order through Just Eat the delivery can take an eternity...

Not my type of place. It was all but empty when we went but still waited 15 mins just to get the menu and be offered drinks. Actual meal took a further 45 mins to arrive. It seems they were busy with take- aways. The actual meal was ok but I won't be going back in a hurry.

I occaisionally order takeaway from Ameera. However, this one has been very disappointing. Stale crisp pancake, coupled with the only tasteless chicken chat i have ever eaten. The tikka marsarla sauce was watery and lacked taste. Even the naan bread was wafer thin and bland. The fact that it was decidedly below average would be slightly easier to accept, if it had not been for the nineteen pounds and sixty pence price tag, (including four pounds delivery charge for a very short distance), which i was charged for the experience. I feel that Ameera needs to raise their game considerably, if they are to charge customers this kind of price for a meal for one. On balance, it seems to be a shame as, though not cheap, past takeaways have been much better quality.

Went tonight for the Thursday special. And as always lovely meal in the 3 yrs lived in Ashington been to Ameera around 20 times always good food with the service just as good. Always leave feeling full. And the Cobra beer on draught always goes down a treat. The place is a credit to Ashington and can see why been there a number of yrs.

Ordered a takeaway for me and my husband. Cost over £20 and received this 😏 6 maybe 7 at the most SMALL bits of chicken in korma. Korma was as thin as water.

Came with my family for my mothers day meal . Didn't realize that they did specials on a Sunday which we all went for . Could choose any starter or main including prawn dishes ( at no extra charge )The food was excellent as was the service .

This is the 3rd takeaway we've had, 1st one we didn't have any rice or chips delivered but quite tasty £17+, 2nd one pointed out we never got rice or chips not as tasty £19+ and tonight 2 curries 8 pieces of chicken in 1 and 6 in the other 1 rice 1 chips and 1 naan bread, chips were white curries bland very poor price £22+

Never came here before but was recommended by friends ...was a lovely evening . Food was very nice & the staff ( 2 young men ) were hospitable , efficient & polite .

AmeerA has been one of our local Indian restaurants that we use fairly regular over the past 8 years without complaint, Food is always on point along with drink selections and prices. The owner is always friendly and takes time to have a chat on every visit which is nice and they do go the extra mile. One occasion in a group we drank the last of their Amaretto but it was no issue and they sent one of the waiters down to ASDA for a new bottle.. Great Service

Meal was excellent and the service was very good. Menu choices were very varied and food was well presented. A really nice experience.

Excellent food. I tried the lamb pasanda which was incredibly rich and creamy, along with four naans, which, in hindsight was insane. I also enjoyed some onion barges. It was reasonably expensive so I had to spend some of my therapy money on the food (please don’t tell me flatmate!) My only gripe ,while admittedly being my own mistake was the sauce I spilt down my clean shirt.

Thursday and sunday night special's great value for momey ...kebab starters amazing ...great tasting curry ...proper recommended

Living only a ten minute walk from ameera restaurant myself and the wife often enjoy a stroll up to ameera on a Thursday night(special night) for our evening meal, I must add that we actually walk past another Indian restaurant (where we have also dined) to get to ameera, everytime we visit ameera it never disappoints the food is always spot on, there has been the odd occasion when the restaurant has been extremely busy and we have had to wait more than we would like between courses but the volume of custom can only say good things for ameera surely, our typical meal including apertizer then starter and main course with four pints of larger costs £37 (on special night Thursdays or Sundays) wich we think is reasonable for the service and food quality we always receive! We will continue to visit ameera for our Indian treat!

Went on a weekday to pick up a takeaway. 11 quid for a banquet for 1 which was decent enough value. Food was acceptable quality, restaurant looked nice and well made up with friendly staff. Oddly deserted though, we were the only people in at 7pm and we were only ordering to go. Delivery driver was sat in the bar area playing on a mobile phone which was a bit off putting.

where do I begin ordered off JUST EAT after waiting nearly 1hr it finally came, to find part of the order missing the MAIN MEAL, CHICKEN TIKKA MASALA and the KEEMA NAN would you believe it but got 2 cartons of onion pilaw, the chips was cold, so I rang them up to explain what the problem was, They then said I didnt order the masala but my bill came to about £16 what for RICE CHIPS AND NAN BREAD. I then had to pay another £7 for the chicken tikka masala, and they said just keep the other rice it went into the bin WORST MEAL EVER I WONT BE ORDERING EVER AGAIN

Hubbie and I have been going to and ordering takeaway from here for years. Used to be great on all fronts however last takeaway and restaurant visit have been poor. Quality seems to be going downhill which is a real shame...we really want to support local businesses as Ashington needs good places to eat but we will be looking further afield for good curry from now on I’m afraid.

Where do I even start ? Ordered a delivery at 18:30 on a Friday night, the person on the end of the phone had trouble understanding me so took a while to get the order in ... when I finally did he did not give me and estimated delivery time or take my name, after an hour I phoned again to be told my order was ready and just waiting for the deliver driver and it would be no more than 15 minutes, half an hour later the delivery driver phoned me ( who was a very nice man for the record ) to say he couldn’t find the house as he hadn’t been given the description that I had given them, I said I was not willing to pay the full amount due to the wait and service I had received so far, he phoned the manager who said I either payed the full amount or he would take the food back and bin it !!!! This disgusted me but trust me it gets worse ... on my way to collect another takeaway I visited the original one and spoke to one of the rudest, most obnoxious person I have ever met ( the owner/manager ) he claimed it was my problem to deal with and lied throughout about what his staff had told me, as I was leaving he called me a word that I’m sure his mother would be ashamed of !! Third time I’ve had delivery issues here but there will certainly not be a fourth !! Rude, vile, disgusting service, no idea how they are still open !

My partner made an order on Just Eat and I can't fault the food it is amazing and absolutely the best in Ashington in my opinion. However I will not order food to be delivered again as the delivery drivers attitude was a disgrace. He had a go at me as soon as I opened the door telling me I could have had the food earlier if I bothered to have my phone on. The phone was on I'm assuming we just had poor signal. He then said he had no idea where the house was and I should be had my phone on to direct him. I was so shocked I took the food from him and shut the door. The same driver has delivered to us before and mentioned the last time he couldn't find the house. However as he's been previous I don't understand how he struggled and I suggest your driver uses a sat nav to find customers in future.

over an hour late. called and said will send free popadoms and be 20 mins, further 20 mins, called again, we’ve sent a free korma too. Arrived 1 hour late so 2 hours in total, nothing free as way of apology and food so salty it went in the bin except a couple of items £50 down the drain. very poor

rang an hour before delivery to ask if I could add on to order, got told it was out for delivery already, so got sent back, then was 15 mins late coming back, food was cold, obviously just sat there “warmed up”....

Ashington is limited when it comes to places you can have a sit down Indian meal, this restaurant however serves very very good food and I love all the sauces on the curries they are very well made indeed. Staff are always lovely. Nicely located.

So we decided to try out this one and have to say the food was bland . My sauce was sweet like honey- not desirable when you are eating a supposedly savoury dish. My husbands patia was unseasoned and watery. For anyone who likes quality Indian quisine cooked with fresh herbs and spices then you should avoid this one. Also note my chicken was tough and overlooked not to mention the excess amount of food colouring used to give mine a blood red appearance. . Horrible food.

First time ordering and we will be back. I was a bit unsure after reading some reviews but I decided to give it a go and I'm so pleased we did. The chicken tika main was outstanding! The chicken was so succulent and full of flavour and not dry. in fact it's the best we have had in years! The Lamb Dansak was again outstanding, lamb was nice and tender, the whole curry was faultless. The nan was nice and fresh also. I have travelled the world (ex Navy) and this is without a doubt up at the top for me. We have used a well known Indians in ashington for a long time and that is now about to change. You have a new customer. Thank you :)

food not bad..but the beer was a disgrace,was flatter than a dover sole,it tasted horrible..the bannister to the upstairs toilet...

Naan bread wasn't cooked. Still tasted like flour. Also, the delivery charge of £3.50 is a bit excessive given that I live less than a mile away.
