Ameanah's in Carmarthenshire

The meat was really tasty. I wish the restaurant had some form of seating for when your collection isn't quite ready. The venue seems nice and I may consider dining in at some point in the future. The saag curry was a bit different to what I usually had but it was still good.

Missing dish on delivery, not the first time for this to happen. Yes they will deliver and say sorry after checking with the kitchen that it's missing! Food was fine just disappointing that the order can't be checked before leaving for delivery to ensure all items in bag. For this now to happen twice we will have to consider ordering elsewhere in the future.

Been here a number of times. Food and service are always good. Reasonable prices, too.

Food is 5 star. No doubts on that. However service was poor. I was made to feel extremely awkward by the female members of staff who stared, pointed and chartered from the bar at me. We were waiting for desert and while it was taking a long time I didn't mind because they were clearly busy. However shortly after the bar ladies chatter and when my husband returned to sit from the bathroom we were asked, quite abruptly " if we were done eating could we go and finish our drinks at the bar". While this was not the worst, the approach was sharp and awful and could have been dealt with much better. There was no "is there anything you were waiting on, did you find the food ok, is there anything else you would like etc". Also after finally getting desert I felt so awkward eating it as we were stared at almost the entire time, our table was filled before we even settled our bill and a sour taste was left as there were other people who arrived before us, had no food and yet we were the ones approached. I can only surmise it's because we were the younger and quieter couple there which is not acceptable when you are spending £80 for a meal/ drinks and didn't even get the tea/coffee refreshments that was supposed to come with the desert. Won't be returning in a hurry.

I hate to leave negative reviews but the delivery service from this restaurant really disappointing. An hour past our expected delivery time we called the restaurant. The delivery driver stated he had knocked our door and had no response, we checked on our camera and nobody had been to the property or indeed any car on our street. He then stated that our mobile number was incorrect so couldn't call, this was not true as it was entered correctly and we have previously ordered from here with the correct details. They said they would redeliver and that the food would be fresh. Food was cold with 2 broken poppadoms given by way of apology, it was obviously the same food from earlier they couldn't even be bothered to pretend and warm it up. It's a shame as the food is usually fine from here. I would not waste your money on this place for delivery, having said that I can't comment on the service in the restaurant itself.

Lovely food, very reasonably priced and the staff were super friendly and helpful.

We have a takeaway from here all of the time and are always really impressed! Our favourites are the madras, the special biryani and the South Indian curry! However we have tried many more including the korma the chicken tikka masala, the pathia, the jalfrezi , the rezala that have all been amazing. We can also recommend the prawn purée! Food is always on time, piping hot food and friendly delivery! This is our favourite Indian restaurant. We have also eaten in and the service is impeccable! A lovely place to eat with family or friends, a great Sunday buffet and a fantastic Wednesday deal! Highly recommend to everyone Thanks amenahs

Seldom am I moved to pen a review for an Indian restaurant, but on this occasion, credit where credit is due. Ameanah’s Restaurant in Ammanford provided an amazing experience! We received an extremely friendly welcome, and the service was attentive throughout our visit. The food was absolutely delicious, and the entire place was spotlessly clean. Highly recommend this gem – we will definitely be back!

I have had takeaways from here quite often and it’s been excellent but last two orders one was cold and this one I didn’t have the mint sauce to go with the chicken kebab I also ordered a chutney tray where I usually had two popadoms I had one broken one.

We've had food from here a couple of times. It's very expensive compared to other local businesses and the food has never been anything special, but is the only Indian takeaway to deliver to us. Tonight, though, it was appalling. Firstly, I had a call from the delivery driver, accusing me of entering my postcode incorrectly on the website. I said that I entered it correctly, and he argued with me, and was adamant I'd sent him somewhere 15 minutes away from my home address. I checked my order and I had entered the correct postcode, which I knew already. As a result, the food was cold, chips and naans soggy and poppadoms stale. Even if it had been delivered on time, the rest of the food was awful too. The chips were raw and there were so few of them it was laughable. The meat was so salty it was inedible. Worst of all, I tried to call to complain, but no one answers the phone. There's no email address on the website and no alternative contact details.

Always a lovely meal from here! They give a time, and their always on time(sumtimes earlier) Delivery driver very pleasant too. Thank u again for ur wonderful food and service xxx.

First time eating in today, and I've got to say the way Sal and the guys treat their customers is exceptional, we were greeted and made to feel welcome, they managed to squeeze us in at peak times, unbooked which was lucky (I reccomend you book). The food was exceptional and considering how busy they were, lamb chops and salmon came out exactly when we needed it, they kept us up to date and the drinks flowing. I would reccomend this place to anyone well be back, it's clear they actually love what they do, we had an excellent evening.

Really friendly stuff who were very welcoming and accomodating of any requests. They couldn't do enough to make us happy. We were a party of 5 so had a good selection of the meals and drinks on offer, both starter and main. I tried a little of each meal and food every one was well presented and very tasty. When we were done, we had lots of leftover food due to the portion size so they brought trays to send it home with us with needing to be asked. Great experience overall, would definitely come back.

Haven’t eaten inside, as we always have our takeaways delivered. Website is easy to use, when we’ve needed assistance they have always been very helpful, and delivery driver is always on time and polite. The most important thing is that the food is outstanding!! Really tasty and of a high quality and we’ve tried most of the menu and always impressed with what we get. Would highly recommend Ameanah’s to everyone.

Waiter was part way through taking our order and then went to seat other people who had just come in - very rude. Then brought out food and didn't seem to know what mine was. My wife had prawn dish but one of the prawns was mush and put her off her dish completely. We had a bad experience here previously but thought we'd give them the benefit of the doubt. We will certainly not be returning.

The welcome is very warm and helpful. The service is probably the best I've experienced. The food is amazing and with layers of flavours. So helpful when it comes to gluten free.

Always prompt with delivery, food always delicious and hot, often order from here. Like it so much I ve just ordered again tonight lol

Unusually well balanced flavours beautifully blended in dishes which are light rather than oily. Very friendly staff and a buzzy atmosphere. Will go again.

We had a great family meal at the 1/2 price curry night on Wednesday (remember to bring cash). This is the best Indian food in the area and also the best customer service I have experienced in ages. The staff really go out of their way to make a fuss of the kids and enjoy a bit of banter/chat with you. One of the party was vegan and there was lots of options to choose from. Nothing is too much trouble for them and I'll continue to come back here :)

We were in a short trip around brecon beacons and near by places. We came to get into this restaurant unexpectedly. But to be honest it was not a wrong choice, it was so delicious. Chicken chaat and onion bhaji are so nice to have it. One more thing to I shout-out is about the way they are handling the customers, they are very friendly.... Sal thanks man.

Unfortunately, I've had to update previously positive review to a negative one. I had my home delivery 20th March 2024, and the overall quality was much less than expected. I wasn't going to change my review until I bit in to my kema nan bread, and found some plastic film (see photograph). Shortly after I made the discovery, I had vomited the food I had eaten, probably because of the concern over what other foreign object could be inside my food. The sound of me being unwell caused my partner to then sick up her food, because she was concerned about what could be in her food. And with only one toilet, it was a horrific scene. It's completely unacceptable, and demonstrates a complete lack of care during the preparation of food. If these kind of mistakes can be made, then god only knows what else could happen, something perhaps not as detectable as plastic packaging? Unfortunately, I cannot bring myself to buy there again, and I can no longer recommend this to my friends, family and customers, due to the possibility of further contamination, or the possibility of intentional contamination having now left a bad review in my name. I tried to call the restaurant, but the first few attempts didn't even ring, it just answered immediately but nothing is said... Blank line... I tried later on, and they have an automated system what says "to order online press 1, or hold to speak to the restaurant"... So I stayed on the line, no ringing, just waited for about 5 seconds.... and then it said "this person's mailbox is full, and you cannot leave a message". So it's really really bad sorry... It's really sad, since the staff I had interacted with seemed really nice, friendly and helpful. I paid £65 for this meal for my partner and I

Really friendly staff, food was lovely, we went for the buffet. Only criticism I would have was that everything was chicken. I understand why it's done but it would have been nice to have other options than chicken in different sauces. The veggie in the group was happy with what they had. Staff were absolutely brilliant, friendly and helpful. Couldn't fault them at all.

Had a delivery the other day arrived on time absolutely steaming hot. We had ordered Chicken Tikka Biryani, Pilau Rice, Chicken Bhuna and 2 Keema Naans. The food was 100% delicious. Best Keema Naans I've tasted. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be returning.

This is the only time I've been unimpressed as we've dined in and had several takeaways previously from here tried three times to order online delivery for 6-30 eventually accepting the info I put in didn't receive confirmation email as stated delivery was 50 minutes late and was cold the two main vegetable dishes which should both have been chicken which I admit was my error was a make up of two pieces of potatoe a ton of onions and peas sweetcorn and chopped carrot which I can only assume came out of a freezer bag Rant over but I'll finish off by saying Take credit when it's due but also accept criticism .

Food was top notch, reasonably priced & the service was brilliant. Highly recommended & I'll definitely be going again.

We have just had a really lovely evening here. The food was exceptional and the service excellent. Abi helped us with his recommendations and was obviously passionate about Indian food and spices. Watch out for his ‘game’ at the end of the meal, we’ll beat you next time Abi! We were seated upstairs as we booked quite late and downstairs was full. This worked well for us as we were a party of 7 and appreciated the space. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. The staff, service, food and general atmosphere made this a really special night.

Friday night meal booked on Thursday. Arrived and no note of booking. Got sat upstairs which is not set out great. Waiter was absolutely smashed, didn't remember we had already ordered. Didn't clear tables and served wrong drink to my wife. Getting other drinks, had to go downstairs to order as could not get waiter's attention because he was wrecked. Such a shame. Great food but very poor service. Have been here several times this year but won't be going back after this last experience.

We stayed in the Brecon Beacons over the weekend and came out for food here on the Friday night. Service is outstanding very attentive and lovely friendly people. The food was insane! Best Indian we ever had. Thankyou for a wonderful dining experience, would drive 1hour 40mins from where we live just to eat here.

The boys running the show are a great laugh! Good atmosphere, food was nice and tasty, but took a while to get to us and was a little on the cool side.

Absolutely gorgeous. Don't take my word for it, try it yourself. Crispy Lamb starter Hotly followed by a Chicken Jalfrezi and Pilau Rice. Sadly no Chilli Ice Cream for Dessert

Visiting family in Llandeilo at the weekend so the five of us went to Ameanah's Saturday night for a meal. Food was lovely and good size portions at good prices. The staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. The restaurant was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. All in all a great experience. I just wish we lived closer but will definitely go again when visiting our family.

Went for a meal there, had the best indian meal in ages, The food was brilliant, the staff were friendly and amazing. They also gave me a free sambuca shot as it was my birthday. Had a lovely time, best Indian in town, would be visiting again.

If you want a Indian, then ameanah's is the place to go. Food is fantastic, staff go out of there way for you, and the atmosphere so so friendly. If you haven't been to the restaurant I recommend you do

Ok, so the food is pretty good, you need to go here! but the main problem is that it’s all far too fast. I told the server that we want about 10 minutes in between courses as we have been here before and find they rush the food out,, but this was ignored. They moved our popadoms out the way for our starters, very irritating. After the starters, they cleared away my partners plate whilst I was still eating. This is a big no no guys!! - slow down the pace, we are out to enjoy the evening and don’t want to rush!

Visited with our 4 children and had a wonderful Evening out, staff went above and beyond to be helpful and accommodating, food was absolutely delicious, everything was perfect. We would definitely recommend and will be back again.

Very unusual vindaloo...dark red, like a tikka, no potato and tasted like it had an oxo cube among the ingredients, really strange taste, nothing like any vindaloo I have tasted before. Not unpleasant, just really odd. If you are a big fan of vindaloos, I would avoid this, you may be pretty disappointed. The rest of the meal was pretty normal, not outstanding, just ok. I have spoken to 4 people over the last couple of months who all said this place has gone downhill a little. I hope this isnt the case, the last time we ate in, it was really nice.
