Their food is delicious, as is their chai - authentic mumbaian flavours. It's a new, family run independent cafe that has focused on 1 thing - the main thing - quality food! The setup captures the feel of a cafe in Mumbai as do some of the 'street-food' style dishes. I would recommend trying the masala egg burger!

Amazing place. We ordered the Kolhapuri chicken thali and bombil (fish) thali. Both were excellent, very tasty and well presented. My wife is maharashtran and said it was very authentic including the kolhapuri pandhra rassa (a white dipping sauce). Highly recommend.

very good and delicious food, just like home cooked meals without the added preservatives , soda, or artificial flavourings ,Although i ordered a lot of dishes from here like the thalis, prawn mutton, chicken, fish and other mumbai street foods like vada pav, pani puri, misal pav, etc, all were delicious. The mutton is fantastic as its goat or kid goat meat without the uncomfortable smell as most restaurants market lamb but this is the only place where the goat mutton is fresh . this time i ordered the prawn and bombayduck thali, goan pomfret curry and stuffed pomfret fry, everything was amazing especially the bombil fry and the pomfret fry. the fish doesn’t have a fishy smell, and everything is freshly made to order. so the wait time is justified . this is a great small family run business, and very humble , polite and professional people Thank you Sagar and team , you’ll are doing an amazing service to the people of london by bringing mumbai foods here to our doorstep. Highly recommend 🙏

The worst food I have ever tried . I order a veg thali and pav bhaji both was ridiculous. Firstly thali was cold . Dal was equal to spicy water . Subji annd bhaji was having burnt smell . Entire parcel was unnecessarily spicy with ridiculous taste . I would never recommend this place to anyone . I don’t know how people has given such a high rating to such worst food . Totally disappointing .

There food specially fish is fresh, I do understand if you want good fresh fish you will have to wait for sometime. I will suggest if you going here keep some time as you can expect the chef will cook almost from scratch post you order. Ask specifically for mild food as Chicken dishes are spicy. I love all fishes tried Prawns, Bombay Duck, and King fish thali. If you want authentic taste this is the place, but be mindful that they are still learning hospitality so expect some good wait time. Suggestion - Reduce the menu items and focus on 10-15 main items which are your best selling.

Customer service worst ever. I asked the waitress what beers they got? She said she will check if kingfisher hot or cold and will get back to us and never came back. Mutton spicy as hell like really really very very spicy. Food doesn't come on time. Comes one thing then have to wait for another. Menu said pomfret fish which was never ever pomfret, it's a big lie. And was charged nearly £6 for sitting in. RIP off Paid £65.76 for nothing

When we entered it was only us and 1 more table which was occupied. Firstly, the food took ages to come until when I had already left the hopes of eating food (25 mins before we received our first order). Secondly when we were paying one of my friend asked for a NHS discount and the lady serving on the reception didn't understand what we were trying to say , so first she said yes and then went inside telling 1 minute and then the other lady who seemed more of a manager came on the till. When my friend again asked for NHS discount she rudely nodded and said NO. It is not about the tone but the professionalism and question about customer service???? How can you afford to have a rude tone and grumpy face in front of a customer!!!!! Thirdly , when my partner told the manager that her tone was rude instead of apologising she gave back saying 'when was I rude' and then tried to speak loudly too. Thumb rule of Customer service , you cannot have a rude tone in front of the customer irrespective of the situation. We were not trying to argue but try to say that 'why the difference in statement about NHS discount' from two different employees working at same workplace. This raises a lot of question about: 1) Is communication and knowledge of 'english' language important in Customer service when serving in the UK for the restaurant? 2) Does the restaurant care about Customer service or is it simply business? 3) Is transparency about business amongst the employees important for the restaurant (such as Student discount, promo offers, NHS discounts) because not every customer will tolerate hearing 'NO' after saying 'YES'. The above question decides the overall review of the restaurant , it is on the brand if they want to be called a business or a restaurant in the UK? The future of restaurant depends on it. Hope the management has a knack of sense and improve it.

We were recommended Amchi Mumbai by friends, and it turned out to be an absolutely fantastic dining experience. The restaurant offers a variety of Maharashtrian delicacies cooked to order, and everything we tried was exceptional. We had the Bombil fry, Kala Mutton Thali, Kolhapuri Mutton Thali, and Surmai Fish Thali. The homemade masala they use adds an authentic touch to the delicious food. I was particularly impressed with the variety of Bhakri (bread) they offer. The owner, Sagar, was very welcoming and made us feel right at home. I can say without a doubt it's "the most authentic Maharashtrian restaurant in the UK" I've been to this place more than 7-8 times in the past few months and it has become my favourite whenever I'm missing home. 10s of different food opinions, both veg and non veg, very friendly owners, and tasty food. Most of my friends i had taken there, loved the food. I personally liked Zunka bhakri, Pithla Jawar Bhakti, Mirchi bhaji, Kolhapuri, Saoji Chicken Thalis, Pomfret Fish Thali rava fried Surmai. I'd love to see a few more options in the menu in future like Kothimbir Wadi, Daal Khichadi, Patodya, Thalpeeth, Puran Poli. Also i know they are making fresh food but I'd appreciate it if they could reduce the serving time.

Do not even think... its bad and overpriced. Food: 1) Vada Pav - £2.50 very costly and they use burger bun. You can get authentic vada pav in wembley for £1. Just spoiling the name of Mumbai by serving it. 2) Rabdi (Sweet). Tastes like flour with some essence of pistachio. 3) Fish Thali - Such waste of money. Tiny piece of pomfret with most of the bones part. Also the curry had a tiny piece of pomfret smaller and thinner than my little finger. Only surmaine fish pieces were food. Rest everything for waste of money. £18.99 just not worth it. 4) Chicklollipop- oily has hell. Never had such Oilly lollipop. 5) Kolhapuri Mutton curry - Not a single piece of mutton in it. £18.99 of spicy water and oil. If you have too much of money to waste, then this is the place.

However that didn't impact the service. It's a must visit for any Marathi cuisine lovers. Especially the taste of Mumbai and central Maharashtra. The biggest selling point is that food is made to order, and tastes very fresh. Tip: if in doubt about what to eat or spice levels speak to the manager/owner before ordering. The only not so brilliant part is the ambience, however it is very clean and well lit. It's a definite must visit for food lovers who appreciate the taste over ambience.

However, the restaurant by their own admission have only sent me 200 grams because they sent me a pink Post-It note in the bag blaming the incorrect portion weight on “error online on Just Eat”. I’m left feeling extremely disappointed as this is false advertising and I feel deceived into buying something but only receiving half of what I was expecting. Have reported this to Just Eat to investigate. I’ve checked their menu again and it clearly states 400 grams portion size for other types of Bhajiya (potato) as well.

Fish thali was very good and after a long time had food that was not the usual tikka masalas, choles etc. it felt refreshing. They need to work on their service and interior which is not appealing however I wouldn't take away from them their honest attempt at providing good food.

If you wish to embark on a journey through the enchanting world of Malvani cuisine then you should visit this place! The menu showcased the culinary prowess of the chefs. The Fish Curry, a symphony of coconut, kokum, and a melange of spices, danced on my palate, leaving an indelible mark. The Mutton sukka was another delight - every dish was given due attention and had its unique masalas. The Sol Kadhi, a refreshing concoction of coconut milk and kokum, acted as a palate cleanser between bites, allowing me to savor the complexity of flavors without overwhelming my senses. First time in London, I have had such a wonderful, finger licking chicken, mutton and fish feast. If you're a connoisseur of coastal cuisine or simply someone with an appreciation for bold, vibrant flavors, this hidden gem is a must-visit.

This place could be such a success if only they paid a bit of attention to the decor inside. It is so drab, with charity shop tables and chairs, child’s school art work. You really do not need to spend a lot to make it a decent place. I would not want to take anyone in there to sit down and eat unless a quick collection of ordered items. Simple decor with matching furniture, a lick of paint and some nice paintings and restaurant lighting , even just like some of the Chaiiwala places is all they need to do. Just a suggestion

Very bad experience in this restaurant. Poor customer service and place was not clean. Also the owner's behavior is rude I asked what is special in today's menu and she asked nothing.. Suggest not to eat and stay away from unhealthy food. Thank you.

I have been a regular & loyal customer - even ignored last couple of late deliveries because the service & food were good generally. Today I had guests over, I had praised this place & the order got late by more than an hour, when it finally arrived it was cold & soggy. JustEat & restaurants work together to provide a service & make some money in return - fair - what about the customer in this situation which took place today? The app doesn't allow to cancel the order even when it is an hour late. I called the restaurant first & was informed they had been very busy and hence the delay but the lady was "packing the food" as we spoke - apparently. After half an hour - still showing "preparing" on the app I call again and I am informed that the JustEat driver left without my order - I was told in such a way as if they are doing me a favour by feeding me or as if it was "my personal driver". At the end - guests at home & soggy cold food - angry, embarrassed and frustrated. Advice: if you are busy as a restaurant in the first place, contact the customer and tell about a possible delay and give an option whether the customer wishes to wait for an extra hour (over & above the usual delivery time) or wishes to cancel the order.

The "large" paneer tikka kathi roll ended in 3 bites. For £7.50 you atleast expect a decent sized roll. The curry rice meal for one has 2 chappatis, a LOT of rice and a small portion of curry. You can either have the curry with the rice or chappati. Not enough for both.

What a disappointment compared to the previous Bru cafe in Harrow . The new one looks terrible inside. We walked straight out and went to McDonald’s.

Tried this place out for the first time. Starters were ok, we went for the platter. The main was delicious, we had jungle curry which was really spicy and lamb massam which was real comfort food. The staff were pleasant. The only downside was the building itself was very cold, and there were no heaters that could be switched on. This spoilt the meal as we sat there with our coats. We will go back but in the summer.

We live nearby and pop in occasionally for cream tea on special occasions. It's always been somewhere between good and great for food and service. But this last trip was a bit like visiting Fawlty Towers. We wandered around trying to find someone, anyone, that might work there. Eventually someone gestured in the vague direction of a cold room with stark, uncovered wooden tables. Eventually, about 15 minutes after we sat down, someone offered us both a menu. About 15 minutes later we asked for water... this request was satisfied eventually. So about 30 minutes in and we had water. We tried to order but at that point we realised that we had different menus. So these menus were whisked away and we had only our water to entertain us... I'll stop there but it wasn't great. Borderline awful. It's gone from delicious treats and great service in a beautiful tea room to water in a cupboard. Good luck.

Great atmosphere, friendly staff and lovely food. We come here weekly to enjoy roast dinners!!! They’re a hit! The new manager is lovely!
