Amber Alehouse in Manchester

Pretty bad to be fair. Why do restaurants insist on every sandwich includes a brioche bun? When I want a sausage sandwich or bacon it needs to be on bread. Hash browns were cold too.

Payment system was insane and didn't work. Payment at counter does not allow you not to tip despite it being a self service restaurant. Sox employees stood around doing nothing while we fought with their idiotic automated ordering and payment service. Would never go here again.

The only airport in the world where the bars (like Se7en Brothers) close earlier (4.30 PM) than the breakfast places (like Pret-a-Manger. Staff and choice of beer was nice though.

Fantastic value sevene brothers beer, same price as what you'd pay in the city , not inflated airport prices. Friendly staff, swish comfortable bar.

Had an all day breakfast and nothing else on the day of the flight, gave me food poisoning, suffering into the 2nd day of my flight - holiday ruined

The menus are sticky and never wiped clean. The tray my drinks were served on was dirty with something sticky so I had to clean my hands fully before I could eat. Had to go to the bathroom to wash to get rid of the sticky substance.

Shocking. Waited at the bar, told to use another till by a blonde girl with a stinking attitude. Walked out

At those prices you'd expect good service but some of the staff have no manners and a bad attitude. Avoid this place

Save your money and steer clear of this dive, unless you like eating yesterday's leftovers and don't want any change from a £100, I kid you not! There are plenty of places downstairs that are better than this.

Had a very tasty breakfast bacon butty, and added a couple of hashbrowns. It came pretty quickly, and sitting outside on the patio provided plenty of entertainment! Bit of a weird setup in that you get seated, get your table number from the qr code there, and then order at the bar.

Not sure on the bad reviews. £6 a for a good pint at an airport. Pay that in town nowadays! Yes burger and chips is a bit keen at £17, but tasty and a good portion. The pickles were a rouge choice, but that's just personal preference! Nice staff, very clean. Lad hosting was very welcoming and have never seen anyone clean so much!

After a long and early journey from North West Wales to catch a flight, we decided to try Amber Alehouse for a brunch and drink. Shown to. A dirty table, we ordered 2 x porridge and 2 x teas. And duly waited 20 minutes while staff walked out of the premises to go on their break with a +5 min gap before 2 other returned from their break. We eventually got our order. Lukewarm porridge that complimented the warm water used in the teacups. Poor all round. The first and last time we go to AA. A solid 1.5 out of 5. Avoid.

Constantly under staffed, with the exorbitant prices, surely they could afford to staff the place appropriately for the amount of people,the queues are ridiculous and there is very limited choice of everything and of course totally overpriced like most outlets in the airport.

John Roff made the visit what a guy a credit the company. He was funny and caring even after his shift finished he was still talking to us lovely man.

No queue this morning, lovely flat white and sausage barm, hit the spot. Quick service and great music.

Took about 20 minutes to get our food and we could see it but no one was bringing it out the food wasn’t good at all

£33 for two cooked breakfasts with toast a tea and a coffee. It's a shame they think it's acceptable to serve cold food and toast that has barely seen a toaster. If they didn't have a captive audience trapped in the airport they would have gone bust years ago if the quality of the breakfast is anything to go by. GIVE IT A MISS.

If the staff looked up from their phones occasionally maybe they would see dirty tables. They sit all huddled together, the girls twirling their hair on their phones!@ Whats happened to customer service. Big clap to the chef though.very nice. Wake up!

Would have been 5 stars if the music had been played much lower!! Realy noisey and annoying 7am and already got headache NO NEAD for so loud .

Can’t comment on the food because we just came for a drink before flying. I’m only writing this review because the host on the door was excellent and think he deserves a mention. The aiport was busy with limited seating and he did his best to accommodate us. Very charming and helpful and very polite. Lovely to chat too also.

visited here in T2 on December 8th before flying out. we were met at the door by someone eho seemed to have concept of where they were & then seated at a dirty table with drinks menus that were dirty & stuck together. The Area we were seated in was empty sith onmy my friend & i sat in it. As i went to the bar to order, i had to try to get the attention of the staff who were to busy. chatting & a male colleague even alerted them to the fact i needed serving & they also ignored him. i was eventually served by a women who barked at me " table number". when i pojnted at my friend & said " that lady there" she barked again " i cant plave an order with no table number" we ordered, but as she wasnt listening to our drinks order & got it wrong we paid £38 for 2 breakfasts &. 2 coffee the food was tiny portions & cold. it was totally disgraceful. £1.50 for half a slice of bread toasted i emailed last week & a Andre Moll told me someone would email me to resolve this but still havent bothered. save your money & dont go here its appalling

Firstly the young girl who served us at the bar was very helpful and polite always smiling. We ordered 2 breakfasts had to send 1 back as the egg was hard 😫 The manager took it back to the kitchen and a couple of minutes later returned and basically said very rudely is that better now and walked away not giving us chance to even look before walking away. The egg was not cooked with the white slimy stuff all around the top of the egg. I can only say the attitude of the manager was extremely rude as we are paying customer's and the meals are not cheap to begin with a better friendly customer experience from her would have been appreciated. So would a properly cooked egg and manners.

It’s pricey, as you’d expect.. there’s plenty of staff, just one person available to seat customers.. the rest of the staff happy to just watch and wait. People queuing in a big long line… Shame, it plays great music

There was a huge queue to get served at the bar and to order food (same line) To find that this were running on a very limited menu. Of inlet we’d know this before we queued! Ordered a big breakfast and a child’s meal. They had the tiniest burger as you can see in the photo! Our big breakfast was cold and not very big!! Only really for kids up to six years of age due to how small it was! I will avoid this place for sure next time I’m lucky enough to be going away.

Absolutely shambolic. Not enough serving behind the bar. Those that are don't seem keen on moving at any kind of pace. Lots of staff walking around seemingly doing nothing. 25 minutes queuing for a drink is not acceptable. I would urge the management to invest in more serving staff. An incredibly bad experience .

For the price I expected a lot more from the breakfast. Just about the smallest sausage I have ever see. A tiny little pot of beans. It was fairly obvious that the food was cooked a long time before I ordered it. Everything was luke warm at best. I also can't believe they charged me GBP1.50 for a single slice of toast with butter!

Drinks were unchallenging but fine; staff really offfhand and unsmiling. Better bars are available!

Arrived at 4am and was seated straight away. Possibly the best breakfast I have ever eaten. Really flavourful food and was overall wonderful. Was on the more expensive side however expected for an airport. You did also have to pay £1.50 for toast but never mind. Our server was also lovely and all the staff were kind. Would definitely be coming again should I be at T2

Just had a drink waiting for plane, table service very slow, went to bar for 2nd drink, just as bad there!!

I’d keep well away from this place, what an absolute shambles. Service is shocking even for airport standards. The small nicola sturgeon looking one on the front desk shouldn’t even be in a customer facing role, no people skills what so ever. Would rather talk to her pal instead of asking if you’d like to sit down. If I could give no stars as a review I would.

Great reception from one of their servers, but there was a shortage of staff at the bar. When I finally did order, I realised that they were marking half pints up by 50% vs pints (menu only lists prices by the pint, so you won’t know until it’s too late). It’s now increasingly the expectation that a half will cost half as much as a pint, or be close to that. Businesses need to be fair with their customers.

AVOID THIS PLACE UNLESS YOU WANT POTENTIAL FOOD POISONING BEFORE YOUR FLIGHT. Why is there so much staff if they literally don't do anything? You have to go up to the bar and order so why do you need 8 people just standing there doing nothing? I ordered the english brekkie and it was disgusting. The whole thing was cold and gross. The eggs were very wet and they smelled funny so I didn't eat them in order to avoid potential food poisoning before a long haul flight. They charged me extra for bacon so it was £14.60 for smelly eggs and bacon. The place looks dirty and there's a smell of urine in the air... I'm writing this as staff members chat away at another table as if they are customers. AVOID THIS PLACE.

Overcharged me - said my card payment hadn't gone through but actually took it twice. Didn't realise until returning home and checking my bank after our holiday. Would recommend you pay cash to avoid being ripped off.

[Asia Honeymoon Tour 2023] 27/02/23: was really looking forward to experiencing Terminal 2 Manchester Airport and the new (to us) Amber Alehouse, operated on behalf of Seven Bro7hers Brewery. Sadly, no investor discounts. The Amber Breakfast at £12 was filling and the Hoppy Pale was really fresh and crisp, even at 0500hrs. Clean bar & restaurant, plenty of seating, 2 flight screens. Bar service, but plates not cleared away once finished with.

All tables taken but not busy, No Guinness…… 7bos product only☹️ NO IPA available! (Apart from Juicy which is 6%! Why would you even sell that at an airport in the first place!!!!!) Had to settle form a Pilsner lager which was very average, no kids drinks apart from cordials and the wine was pretty poor too….. Sorry to say will not be back

Staggeringly bad organisation. Place half empty, but still having to queue outside whilst staff “found” a table. Ran out of most breakfast options by 8am.

Well! If I was a bit smarter I would have been reading the comments before eating at Amber Alehouse😅 Ordered a bottle of wine, bad but drinkable. You have plenty of staff here and no costumers, and the burger is the worst burger I have ever had! Dry, hard rubber ball ⚽️ I would actually prefer to chew on rubber rather than your burger. And your staff is just sitting around a table doing their minimum, not even cleaning tables.

Last visited: Jan 2023 Top rating for the beer. I requently visit Seven Brothers at MediaCity. Unfortunately, food was just average, hence the 3 stars.

When we entered we were greated with a "Wait to be seated" sign. However this morning the sign should of just stated "wait" as nobody came to seat us. When we did go sit down, we waited to be presented with the menu which wasn't on the table, but again - we waited. When we did receive the menu it felt rushed and frustrated. I imagined this is how Jacob Marley felt when he was shunned by Scrooge. The food was expensive, which you'd expect but was pretty average for the cost. The singular half a tomato and singular mushroom added a great burst of flavour for the singular mouthful they occupied. The only portion that was generous was the toast, which is good news if you happen to be a duck or Swan.

Dirty tables with lots of staff stood around talking. A shame as I do like the beer here but would not reccomend for food.

Best place in Manchester airport. We love the ancoats bar and were so happy to see 7 bros in the airport.The prices are not far off what you would pay in the actual pub; we were pleasantly surprised there wasn't a huge mark up because it's in the airport Get the Honeycomb ale, you won't regret it.

Had a late Holiday in Portugal and visited this establishment. T2 is looking a lot better and I found this Pub/restaurant to be pretty good. I am used to the Old Observatory Bar so can say this place was way better. It did not take long to get seated ( ok it is out of season so I think this has to be borne in mind ) and the decor was pretty pleasant , although given the throughput and finishes I doubt that will last. Admittedly bar service was a tad slow although it was friendly. There was a good range of beers and considering this was an airport it was very reasonable with some pints at the £4 mark and up. We had a couple of bacon baps and these arrived quickly and were actually hot. Unusually they came in what looked like a brioche bagel which was not the best choice , but given the situation with supplies this may have been the best they could do. There was a young chap actually cleaning all the tables and everyone seemed to have an idea of what they were doing. Taking everything into account and the difficulty getting staff I felt this was a pretty good effort and the place does not now deserve a slating. It looks like it is improving and the staff maybe deserve praise and some encouragement. I would use this place again.

Called in here last month whilst waiting for our flight. Had to queue waiting for it to open but despite the rather large number of people in front of us service was quite quick.

Supposed to be the start of your holiday, what a let down, queue was ridiculous 45 mins to get served so we bought 4 pints for £5-50 each and the taste was disgusting, will never go again ! And £4 for a bag of crisps !!!

Omg what an absolute nightmare this place is, 1 person serving and massive queue, we queued for about 30 mins outside then queued again inside for 30 mins. Ridiculous

Appalling. Not the staff's fault but queuing to get in and half hour wait at the bar. Just poorly designed and managed. Staff friendly but bar not befitting of Manchester Airport.

Not cool with the implication that the displayed ABV of the ales is the price per pint, and I can’t be the only one making this assumption. The bar tender conceded he’d already raised the issue with management when I queried the tab.

Excited to see the Amber alehouse when planning my visit to Manchester Airport, partly due to the advert for the exclusive partnership with the Seven Brothers brewery. Arrived, got through security and headed for the bar to find it shut - not advertised online. Ended up in WHS. Hopefully it's open on the next visit

Limited menu due to staff shortages which was a disappointment & probably why the queue for here was shorter than elsewhere. Bacon & sausages bap(s) were warm but fillings were meagre. Chips were cold & service was slow. My advice get a meal deal.

Joke of a place, queue to get inside when there are empty tables, then after 45 mins waiting to get in you then have to queue 20 mins to get a drink. All the draught ale is off and the staff are rude. Would say avoid but think there is only 1 other bar in T2 at the minute. Whoever designed this new terminal needs sacking!

Great place to stop off just before your holiday starts good beers and drinks the food.is so good I had korean sticky chicken wings with blue cheese dip and iv got to say they the best chicken wings iv had the taste the sticky and messy so if you pop in to Amber alehouse the Amber larger is superb and give the chicken wings a try

The sausages were bright pink raw and the scrambled eggs were prepackaged. Would not recommend, the nicest thing was the hash brown. You have to queue to get in which is expected in an airport but you also have to queue to order which took longer than getting into the place

Family spent nearly £80 on breakfast before our flight out, and the service was beyond abysmal. For four members of my family, cold food was serviced, which was then offered to be reheated, presumably in the microwave. Not to mention the portions served is beyond ridiculous. A single sausage, one rasher of bacon, a measly portion of beans and scrambled egg, which might I add, were stone cold, and the tiniest singular grilled mushroom and tomato your eyes have ever seen. Oh and this was £10 per head. For myself I asked for the sausage "remix" butty, a sad excuse for a breakfast sandwich. One and a half sausages, cut in half and then served on two plain slices of toast. This was meant to be served with a tomato chutney / jam but I got given sweet nothing with it. This was £5. Doesn't matter if you're in an airport, or a city centre, when you pay £10 at minimum for a dish, you expect a level of standard which this Ale House woefully falls short of. Do yourself a favour, have breakfast at home or on the way to the airport, or at least do anything to avoid here until the management understand basic concepts of decent restaurant service.

Incredibly slow.. queued to get seated then queued again to get to the bar for drinks and food. Unattentive team members who work with no enthusiasm and at an incredibly slow pace. Food tepid at best

absolute disgrace 1 bartender serving the whole place you gotta cue for at least 40 means to get in, then once your in cue again for another half hour to get to the bar never again !

Please mystery shop this place it needs a shake up! The lady who's must have been the manager was awful... so unprofessional. Swearing in conversation towards customers and staff. Very forward in telling everyone she was finishing soon and couldn't wait to finish. Very sarcastic towards customers. Very obvious it was her way or no way. I felt uncomfortable as she had a go at a staff member right next to us. **I must mention the young lad with dark hair and glasses was a star and went above and beyond to help us. I do believe this place could be great if staff were addressed but as it stands due to the length of time queuing because the lady said 'if you use the app I will not prepare your order,you must queue' and the general confusion of what is expected I will not recommend

The smallest bean serving I’ve ever seen! The queuing system is silly and staff were laughing and joking whilst a stressed out customers que just kept growing. The breakfast when I eventually got it was nice but the portion was so small and that bean serving (about 6 beans in total haha) was the final insult. After asking for a bit more this request was denied and told this was not allowed.. apparently this is a standard complaint, I wonder why??

At Manchester Airport, Terminal 2. We nearly gave 4 stars as they ran out of chicken wings ha, but we couldn't. The food, the drink and the service was great, especially the food, which is why we can't give 4 stars as they were apologetic and gave us a free portion of chips! Great atmosphere, relax and reasonably priced for an airport restaurant/bar. The waiter we had was fab, happy in all!

After a long miserable flight, I was welcomed in warm open arms. I've only been once, but Amber Alehouse already feels like home. Thank you. I needed you, more than you know.

Very friendly, pleasant and helpful staff who made us feel very welcome. Lovely clean environment. Will definately be visiting again on our next trip to terminal one airport for a telaxing start to our holiday

The lady who took our order was lovely (Hayley). The food was awful so cold and the bacon was so hard you could tell it had been cooked a long time! They asked me what the food was like and I told the lady and she said she would let a manager know but they didn't come to see us. People were coming in and we advised them not to eat in here and go opposite to the Bridgewater exchange the food is much better.

Friendly staff, great choice of decent ales (I would recommend the Honeycomb and the Cast Off pale) sausage butty did the job. A touch on the expensive side but you have to expect it in an airport restaurant

£6.30 for a pint?! Scandalous! If you don't drink real ale not much of a choice of booze. Foot is ridiculously overpriced too. It's an airport it should be cheaper with no tax!

Went for breakfast. No Porridge, No pancakes, No apple juice, No jam for the toast. Liquid breakfast then……
