Amalfi Kitchen in South Hams

What a delight ! Thank you so much, the food was so fresh and delicious ! This is the second time I’ve been here …and again it did not disappoint , we had Camembert, baked with honey rosemary and pecans with olive bread ! Figs & prosciutto's balsamic basil glaze , spicy sausage paccheri , beef shin ravioli … lemon brioche , cheese board ! It’s like a tiny bit of Italy came to Dartmouth ! Being gluten free I enquired with this restaurant earlier in the 2023 season and discovered they make their own GF pizza base but, reassuringly, need a days notice to make it fresh. Booked up this time we were down in Dartmouth and were not disappointed. The atmosphere in this restaurant is warm, cosy and friendly from the minute you walk in. The service is friendly and attentive but not at all intrusive. The food, the food, is superb. The shared platter starter was full of different things to try. My GF pizza was incredible both for its bases and for the rich, fresh flavours on top. Perfectly cooked and absolutely no compromise for it being GF. My wife had a vegetarian pasta dish which was fresh, packed with vegetables and full of flavour. Not cheap but excellent value for money given the quality of the food, the service and atmosphere.

So glad we managed to get a table here !. Fabulous location, interior, food & spectacular service ! The Proprietors were a delight & really looked after us....Thank you !. We had a fun Birthday meal with friends. Absolutely will be back !

We had the most wonderful dinner here … Food was fabulous …my husband pre ordered the gluten free pizza which was out of this world .. My freshly made pasta with light tomato sauce and vegetables was delicious ….it is how they make dishes in Italy , fresh ingredients ,not overloaded with unnecessary sauce …….the place is small ,quaint and pretty . Our server Jo who handled all the tables by herself was awesome . She had suggested a few things on the menu and she was spot on . All I can say is WOW . Our best evening out in Dartmouth .

Amalfi Kitchen Dartmouth Amalfi Kitchen is a true gem for those seeking delicious home cooked Mediterranean cuisine. Tucked away in a small side street, just off the waterfront, this charming bistro offers a delightful culinary experience without breaking the bank. The menu offers a variety of Mediterranean dishes including traditional home-made pastas and pizzas, each bursting with flavour and fresh high-quality ingredients. For starters we had mushrooms and goats' cheese on bruschetta and melon and Feta. The aroma of the Feta and melon made me quite envious of my wife’s starter. Our mains were pasta filled with crab and lobster, and pasta filled with salmon. Both made with freshly made pasta and filled once again with fresh ingredients. They tasted sublime. The décor of the Restraunt was cozy, whitewashed stone walls , great use of lighting and space. I can highly recommend the Amalfi Kitchen; the cozy ambience and service created a friendly atmosphere that made us feel at home. This topped with the excellent culinary experience just made it the right place to go for a relaxing quality meal.

This looked really nice & we booked for our last night on holiday as a treat. Sadly it did not live up to expectations. It is a nice restaurant but the food was nothing special and charging £10 for a garlic bread that was like cardboard was a bit much, I suspect it had been sitting for some time before it was brought out. The main course of pasta was nice but again didnt warrant costing £23, such a dish in London would cost about £15. The wine was nice but at £9.50 a glass it should be!

We arrived to a warm welcome on a Sunday evening. I must admit I was a bit nervous as we have two children aged 9 and 13 who are very well-behaved (but everyone says that, don’t they?!) and ‘Amalfi’ have a strict policy regarding children (which I completely understand as no-one wants screaming kids in a restaurant). I should not have worried; the atmosphere was warm and friendly with Mike as ‘front of house’ very welcoming, congenial and good humoured. He also has fantastic taste in music - the best playlist I’ve heard in a restaurant! The food was an absolute delight; the flavours were exceptional with high quality ingredients - perfectly cooked pasta (better than I have eaten in Italy) and wonderful desserts - a Sicilian lemon brioche - the best pudding I have ever tasted! This restaurant really deserves all the fabulous reviews and support from both locals and tourists alike. I only wish it were closer! It’s clear that this is a very hardworking team with high standards and high aspirations and they deserve every success. Thank you for a great evening!

We had a booking at another restaurant but decided to change when we saw Amalfi and so pleased we did. My husband had the pizza and I had the chefs special crab with spaghetti, both were delicious. Finished off with a lemon cheesecake it really was an outstanding meal in a pretty little restaurant. A special mention for the fabulous lady who served us, she was welcoming knowledgeable and friendly. We were tempted to go back the next evening.

We managed to get a last minute booking into Amalfi kitchen, what a treasure, the atmosphere, service and more importantly the food is second to none. If you are in Dartmouth do not miss this experience, there is no point in speaking about individual parts of the menu it is all superb!! Thank you Mike and the team!

Well, we really did fall lucky here....last two seats on a very busy Friday evening. Just from my booking with Mike I could tell that this place was going to be good and it did not disappoint! Mike and Jo met us at the door and we chatted as they took our damp umbrella and coats. Jo then ushered us into the cosy really well thought out restaurant. The menu was just right and in the end we both ordered the traditional Beef Ragu....what taste! Excellent with melt in the mouth beef. Our desert was magnificent with lemon liquor, sorbets, sponge so refreshing. We had the table for 2 hours and the time flew by. The tastiest meal in Dartmouth, provided by a fabulous team of lovely people.

Had a beautiful meal here on a weekend away in Dartmouth. Phoebe, Mike and Eve were so welcoming and the food was stunning. The restaurant was beautiful too, a real hidden gem. Thanks guys

We had a fantastic evening meal at Amalfi Kitchen, Mike, Phoebe and their staff were absolutely lovely and couldn't be more welcoming and caring, nothing was too much trouble even for our dog. Don't be deceived by the front of the restaurant as you will be taken through a nice courtyard into a beautiful cosy relaxing dining area. Will definitely visit Mike & Phoebe for another great evening on our next visit to Dartmouth.

Food was excellent, pasta dishes and pizza were superb. Cheese board and bottle of Italian red wine was the icing on the cake. Staff were lovely and owner very attentive. Will definitely be back.

Super restaurant. Relaxed. Small menu (always a good sign). Friendly staff. Husband and wife team, experienced and deserve success. A group of four friends we chose a mix of pasta and pizza and everything was delicious. The cheese board to follow was fab. Lovely wine list esp the Primitivo

Wow! This place exceed expectations, not only was the food, and wine exceptional, so was the customer service. My friend Abi and I are foodies and the flavours were incredible. The wine complimented the food exceptionally well. Mike, Phoebe, Eve and Cleo (the dog) were phenomenal were exceptional. 12/10. You must go!

Enjoyed a wonderful experience at Amalfi Kitchen on Saturday evening. What a charming place with friendly owners and their team. The food is Mediterranean and great quality. Good choice of dishes for all tastes. This restaurant is a real find and we shall be back! Highly recommended.

First time eating here and it won’t be the last , fabulous pizza ,friendly staff., lovely ambiance and reasonably priced . You don’t need much else for a Sunday evening!! We will recommend to friends and family.

Lovely Italian restaurant with delicious food. We had the pizza (fabulous) and some pasta dishes (also great). Staff were friendly and attentive. All round, a wonderful place for dinner. A great addition to the Dartmouth eating scene.

Nice interior , food was tasty but really small portions for the price . Everything served in small bowls. The only deserts were ice cream. We all went home hungry.
