Overpriced & very poor quality food: Called in because of a recommendation & wish we had not! We had the worst Bacon Bap I have ever been served! * Bap was not fresh & bordered on Stale. * Bacon was paper thin & pre cooked (Over cooked). * Bread dry with no butter/spread. * Could barely taste the sauce that they had put on it. NEVER AGAIN!!

A hidden little gem in the often mayhem that is The Galleries. Lovely coffee and cakes. Never been disappointed! The place is always very clean, and the staff are friendly and professional.

Pleasant and cosy coffee shop on the upper floor of the Galleries, opposite the bank with the black horse. It is spacious and comfortable inside and there is further seating outside the main body of the cafe. This is bright and airey and overlooks the car parks. We have been here on many occasions, over the years and a decent cuppa can always be guaranteed. Food is tasty and the staff are always friendly and helpful. More importantly, unlike many cafés which close at 3pm or 3.30pm; AM Coffee are open until 5pm and they also open early.

Cozy coffee spot away from the bustle of the galleries ground floor. Relaxing spot for a wind down and they do a lovely toastie and scone. A great spot for working in too. Service is always fantastic!

When I'm feeling the need for a decent coffee I go to this cafe, on this particular day I was rushing around so decided to pick up A coffee, the cafe is brilliant makes your coffee as you like it, and have an assortment of sandwiches cakes and biscuits also has a lot of seating to sit at would definitely recommend it if you want that personal touch :)

Really lovely staff who bend over backwards to please. It's worth searching out as a change from the heaving noisy bedlam of the galleries main square beside McDonald's, where Muffin Break is. It is open on a Sunday, regardless of what it says on here. Nice quiet coffee, sandwiches and cakes. Beautiful caramel slice. Comfy chairs. Just the ticket.

Am coffee is a lovely little cafe. I got a ham and cheese toastie which was freshly heated and the woman brought it over once it was warmed (which was fairly quick) I also ordered a hot chocolate which was hot and cooled quick enough as the woman offered me some cold milk or water to add to it, I opted for milk. I sat with my friend and we just had a little chat which is easy in a place such as Am coffee as its always not too busy or noisy.

Very friendly but not as much since Alex the original owner left. He provided all the fun with the customers. For all the food is very nice the prices seem to have risen a fair bit. The good idea from the start was the credit cards for a free cuppa although you're advised not to use one if you want a cake/cuppa deal.

This place is on the upper level of the galleries at Washington and out of the way. They do sandwiches, Paninis and cakes. They are well priced and will be returning soon

We visited on a Friday evening for food before seeing a show at the empire, the atmosphere was great and the staff were extremely friendly! We had 4 meals and all the food was red hot, delicious and very good portion sizes , my husband left his glasses on the table that evening, I rang back and they confirmed they were there and with us being a 3hr drive away, they offered to post them out to us! Absolutely amazing service, I would not hesitate to return next time we are in Sunderland

Went to martinos seaburn with my family and the owners we obviously in walking around dressed like scruffs and pulling the staff aside every 2 minutes! Staff were doing a great job but the owners made us and other feel uncomfortable the way they were going on. Put us right off and will never be back. Food was spot on just owners thinking they are big time dressed like drug dealers

Visited Keel Tavern for lunch over the weekend. The place is stylish and feels very upmarket. The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. I ordered the pie, chips and peas. There were a variety of pies but I opted for the mince, Guinness and onion pie. The pie was absolutely delicious, bursting with flavour and complimented nicely with the gravy that accompanied the meal. The chips were tasty and the peas were fresh. This place is certainly worth a visit, meals were well priced for what you get and very filling.

The whipped large ice creams in plain cones were tasteless & in my opinion overpriced due to this. I’d not recommend it for a whipped ice cream. Save your money. There are better quality ice creams in and around for £2.50.
