Aluna in Birmingham

Nice buzzy atmosphere early on a Friday evening. Service very good - shown to our seats straight away & each course was served in good time - being asked if we were ready for the next course as opposed to it just arriving. We were on the festival menu so reduced from the normal menu but still plenty of choices. We had the 3 courses for £20 & the food was very good & enjoyable. I will try again on the standard menu & would recommend.

If you don't like pornstar Martinis, strawberry martinis , appletinis or prosecco then don't book. I ordered the waffles and it came drenched in maple syrup. We were treated well but 2 girls before us were hurried out ....not the best experience when we upgraded to cocktails and I was greeted with everything that I dislike ....variety is the spice of life...they need more variety in cocktails imo ....staff were great & very attentive ...shame as we did overall enjoy 😉

I visited with my sister and mom. It was amazing!! We had starters and mains and the food was absolutely amazing. Super tasty and hot. We also tried several different cocktails and all were great, plus the presentation was mega. Our waitress was Alyssa and she was brilliant. Super friendly, attentive and even gave us a free chocolate brownie and a round of shots as we were celebrating my sisters birthday. Thank you Alyssa!! We will definitely be back!! Amazing night!

Great place for bottomless brunch. Staff are just delightful and drinks are swiftly delivered to the table. Food was great!!!

Bottomless brunch. Good food and good drinks, though a limited choice of both. A bottomless brunch that comes with dessert is never bad too. It did feel like a conveyor belt and all the tables were promptly kicked out at the end of the 90 minutes as the next batch of people were standing waiting in the bar area - this did let it down but only slightly given the actual brunch itself was a well-oiled machine.

Visited with my daughter and a friend. Started well, staff attentive, ordered fairly quickly. Unfortunately my friend had to return her starter as it was undercooked ( chicken). Then one of the mains was incorrectly ordered by the waitress. This was quickly resolved. However, food was very good and enjoyed by all. Sadly though we were rushed. Table apparently was ours for 2 hours (as per booking) but after just over an hour we were told the table was needed. My daughter quickly ordered dessert having had to ask for the menu. No-one offered this. As if being told once we had to be quick wasn't enough, someone else then came and sat next to my friend and again said they needed our table! This spoilt what potentially would have been a lovely experience, particularly as any delays in service were caused by undercooked food and incorrect orders. Disappointed.

We went to this place with some friends for a change. The place looks nice and we really enjoyed our cocktails! The staff is very nice and really prompt, we ordered some food too, a mix to share ,chicken was delicious but I have to say everything was perfect! I will def want to come back again.I recommend this place

Food was amazing and the service from Eric was great. He was friendly and attentive. Always made sure we had everything that we needed.

We booked for a Bottomless Brunch. Staff were very friendly. Our table was booked for 14:30 and we were seated promptly. However 25 minutes later we still hadn't been asked for our drinks order. We spoke to the manager and this was quickly rectified. We were looked after by Klarisa, she was very approachable and friendly. When she bought our drinks over, she took our next order to avoid waiting. My only concern was the music was a bit too loud, and felt we were all shouting at each other across the table. Lovely venue and food was delicious. Will definitely return.

Nicely situated (though it’s a shame about the sludge on the canal at the moment), but very quiet on a Friday lunchtime in February. Welcome and service provided by Charlie was excellent. The food was OK, but not great: Bao buns were nice, though the Peanut & coconut chicken skewers were less so and the person that ate them though the sauce tasted as though it had come from a jar. Mains were, again, OK, though the stir-fried prawns were spicier than I would have liked. Desserts were fine.

Visited for food on a Friday evening just after christmas and was very quiet. The starters came out quickly but we waited a very long time for the mains to come out. My main which was the chicken in sweet and spicy sauce was very harsh and tasted terrible (worst i have had). There wasnt much chicken or veg in the sauce. I didn't want to send the food back as i didnt want to wait for another meal to be made and then brought out so i just ate the chicken. I told the waitress at the end that i didnt like the meal but look said ‘are you sure?’ and looked at me like i was lying. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant for food.

Extortionate prices and really poor service took about 15 mins to get a drink. Staff not helpful and bordering on ignorant you are not made to feel welcome at all. If you want to spend stupid money on drinks in a bar that you are not made to feel welcome then come along to this place

Food was ok. Brownie was delicious. Barely any alcohol in the cocktails though. Staff were good but the restaurant was pretty dead.

Lovely go-to for drinks. Charlie is incredible; always receive amazing service. So so attentive, and remembers our drinks. Always appreciate quick and lovely service. Thank you Charlie !!!

On entering the atmosphere was superb, great music, warm feeling at the bar and superb service, we were taken to our table and again the service here was second to none. We were served by a lovely young lady called Harshita who was personable, gave great recommendations and was simply a pleasure to be around. The food is absolute top notch, cooked to perfection and no compromise on quality. Nothing more needs to be said here. The cocktails are also fantastic if you’re just there for a drink and would absolutely recommend the Deadly Elixir, when served you get a fiery show before boozing! Would absolutely hands down eat and drink here again.

As a 1st time visit we had good expectations. A nice welcome in a lovely restaurant and bar. Great atmosphere and music. It just went wrong when the food arrived. We decided to have the sharing starter platter together with soft shell crab, salt and chilli squid, some butter king prawns.and a side of fries. The platter looked like a £5 Iceland party pack and but didn't taste as good. I suspect it was pre packed and cooked ready to be reheated. The platter was cold so I sent it back with together with the squid which was also cold. I kept the crab and prawns and fries which were acceptable. The crab was actually gorgeous and I would recommend it. Having waited over 30 more minutes for the returned items its was another disappointment. The squid was now chewy whereas it was perfect before but just cold. I suspect Microwaved or re dipped in the frier. The ribs on the platter were also tough and chewy and covered in a sticky unpleasant sauce were the chicken wings and the satay sticks. It was all quite low standard and you would get better in a local takeaway for a quarter of the price. The manager did take my complaint and took the items off the bill. The vibe was great and some of the food I saw go out (Burgers) looked great too as well as the cocktails. Unfortunately my experience wasn't great. After the complimentary discount of £28? The price offending items I still ended paying £71 . The killer was my wife had forgotten to bring the £30 gift voucher that took us there in the 1st place. I'll be giving that to someone else but will have to find someone I don't like so much.

Aluna is perfect if you are female, young and just want to get loaded on prosecco and eat anything that is put in front of you. If you are looking for nice food and service this is not the best choice. The bottomless brunch starts at £ 34.95 and for this you get a main and desert and prosecco, my friend ordered the big boss which was the size of a child's bowl in proportions. The food was very poor quality and certainly not worth £ 34.95 in any means. We have bad better breakfast/ brunches in take away chains. The table slot is 90 minutes but it took us over 45 minutes to receive our mains and whilst we were still eating our deserts the waitress arrived with the bill and informed us we had to pay the bill and leave within another 10 minutes that was the final straw to be honest. The only positive feedback was that the manager accepted this and refunded an amount proportionate to the food and service we offered. Poor, poor, poor all round, much better restaurants in the Mailbox would not recommend

An all-round excellent experience. The staff were all helpful and friendly and our waitress (I’m sorry but I cannot remember her name) was a delightful personality. My wife has an intolerance to garlic and when she told the waitress this, she brought the manager to discuss the options and he, in turn, brought the chef out to explain the dishes he thought would be acceptable. When choosing drinks they provided samples of a couple of beers and wines for us to taste and make our choices. Menu was varied and appetising and, when received, the food was excellent. As I said in the opening sentence the whole evening was a great experience and I have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant

We came early evening on a weekday so it wasn't very busy. Waiter was super-friendly and sat us in a booth, even bringing shots when he realised we were celebrating a birthday (including a non-alcoholic one for the driver!) The veg rolls, chicken Bao and chicken skewers were all very tasty and the nachos was defintley the size of a main meal so struggled to finish it. The mains were also all very tasty and I would describe it as good quality pub grub and would be happy to eat there again. Cocktails were good too!

An excellent meal and possibly one of the best chicken and cashew nuts I have had and the rice was cooked just right too. Starter was wonderful, king prawns breaded and served with a fab sauce. Ended the meal with a chocolate bomb and, again, very good and prices also very good. Cocktails very impressive. Would recommend.

It was just an amazing experience. Me and my partner visited the restaurant for the first time for just a quick bite, however the service was so welcoming that we ended up staying a little longer. All the service staff is so pleasant and professional. We were greeted with a big smile by Jack (I think his name is) and we're further served by Steven,they both were so nice and sweet that honestly the experience became so enhanced. Steven went above and beyond and took up the time to chat with us and explain everything that was served to us. The cocktails are also quiet amazing. We will definitely be coming back
