Alok Contemporary Asian Cuisine in Sandwell

I went here for a family meal and we had a great time. They a a special offer which is great value ,The food was really good ,and the staff were friendly with a good atmosphere which made a good night all round .

Been eating from here for years. Cannot fault and the food is amazinh

I had a take out with my wife tasted ok but was left with stomach ache sickness & couldn’t get off the toilet for two days after

I went in restaurant good food,had a takeaway month later,must of put atleast 3 table spoons of salt in there. Me & misses had upsetting stomach aches next morning

Ordered for delivery for the first time from here after reading good reviews however was left disappointed, ordered a garlic chilli chicken and tikka masala, couldn’t even taste any garlic or chilli and was just generally bland, the tikka masala was watery and not the thick gravy consistency it would normally be, I also had a prawn starter which only had 2 prawns in and again quite bland, we did have a mushroom Rice and that was the best dish out of them all, the order came without our chips, I called and they did send them back out but by then we had eaten all we wanted to, Wouldn’t order from here again

Ordered last night food was horrendous curry and rice no flavour keema had all fell put the naan did not enjoy gone down hill massively

Food great as always nice and quiet too as went at 7pm staff very friendly and helpful.

Lovely place to sit and eat and takeaway good as well, great service very decent portions and their curry nan is amazing along with one of their pot sauces that you wont find at other restaurants! Will defo visit again with the mrs in the new year as shes hard to please but likes it alot as well!

The food here is amazing. They use different ingrediants compared to other places i have visited. Everything from start to finish very very tasty.

Had takeaway from Alok tonight, sorry to say , it wasn't very nice, I think it's gone down hill from the last time we had food from there

Visited this restaurant with my partner this evening, and it’s by far the worst experience we have ever had in an Asian restaurant! The customer service was appalling, the staff have zero manners! The main was very bland and Luke warm. The naan bread was nice and fresh, that’s about he only positive thing I can say. Definitely won’t be returning to eat in or ordering from here again. RUDE!

Terrible long wait for food. Starters took over an hour. Nice people that run it, food was nice. Just a shame we had to wait so long. Hopefully it was an isolated incident though

We ordered tandoori mixed grill, chicken korma. kema rice .poppadoms Was really tasty enjoyed it 😋 . Although I haven't tried anything else there as it was my first time ordering . But I'll definitely get it again and try more of there menu's. Fabulous 4.5 star's for what we had .

The staff were really nice and the food was pretty good, however when we asked if we could get some takeaway boxes to pack up our food, the waiter asked what we wanted packing and if we wanted it in separate boxes. I stated what we wanted packing up and yes separate boxes. We got home to see that our 2 curries had been packed into the same box and our popadoms were missing.

I suspect this Great Bridge restaurant might get overlooked due its location, this would be a shame for both them and you. We really enjoyed our Friday night meal here and it was evident that they take extra care and pride in what they do. Be this the dips with the poppadoms, the salad with the sheekh kebab and the chicken tikka in my pathia, which was the best I have had in a very long time. Apart from the meagre portion of chips we couldn't find any fault with the food. Indeed it would have been a faultless night if the service had been a bit more attentive and not distracted by the football on the TV, and the atmosphere not been taken over by the loud and less than appealing background music. Not that these would put me off returning. It's also a competitively priced menu and that's not taking into account their midweek special offer, or the added bonus of being able to take your own alcohol.

This is our go to take away BUT to dine inside is even better! The food and the service! I know im a little cheeky but I wnt all to know wht a wonderful establishment you are! See you very soon! Dawn & gang

I have been coming to this restaurant for a few years now,and Alok hasn't disappointed me yet. The food is cooked fresh with fresh ingredients, the flavours and spice blend in well especially the chicken Madras and dopiaz dishes. The mixed grills are amazing. The Staff are polite and courteous and the overall atmosphere is nice.

Honestly the best curry ive had in ages. Went to eat in on Saturday , the food was amazing. It was very reasonably priced. I will be trying the takeaway service next. Take your own alcohol though as it is not licensed.

My mom had her wedding here, It went incredibly well the staff especially Abdul helped plan a lot of the things taking a lot of stress off her which she appreciated greatly, I would recommend anyone the food here its truly incredible easily the best Asian cuisine I've ever had if I could give more than 5 stars I would

Ordered 2x main tandoori mix grill and OMG! They where amazing!!! Fresh food, pipping hot, meat, chicken and instead of the prawn this business have started to replace with delicious lamb chops! Meat and chicken was cooked to perfection and marinated for high heaven. I will be ordering again and recommending to friends and family. Keep up the hard work guys, well done!

Food is ok but could be better chips were not to my standard they were hard and tasted like they had been warmed up from the night before

place is the best takeaway curry in the area! very consistent food is fresh and tasty, I have tried all the rest, none of them come close!

Fish pakoras are tasteless and full of grease, undercooked. Curry was watery and looked like it had a rotting green pepper or it was burnt but tasted horrible. Aloo gobi tasted off as well would’ve been nice without the cauliflower. Not worth £31 at all

Food was lovely, I was in a group so the table was nicely proportioned so I wasn't cramped in withy friends. Dinner took a while to be coom and served but it did look lovely and tasted great!!

I've had a few deliveries from alok and always been good had one tonight must say its the worst I have ever had turned up cold and had no flavour phoned to complain not intrested won't be using again plenty of other places to spend my money.

FOOD APPALLING This is the second time that I ordered from here. Sad to say that the food took almost an hour and a half to be delivered. Food was luke warm and so salty, that we couldn't eat it. Other curry was really watery. For £31 it was not even worth it. I will be returning to little Bangla in Langley. Food from there is five star. The only reason we ordered here was that I wanted to try a new dish.

It is very nice place to have some Indian Cuisine. I am not a specialist to judge Indian food but everything was really tasty. I can tell also that service is really good quality with willingness to go extra mile for customer. I have had dish which was not spicy enough for me, not that much as I was expecting. My friend ask in behalf of me if they can add some fresh green chillies to spice that dish up and they're more than happy to do it. You can bring your own drinks, alcohol too. Definitely recommend 5****

Was the worst experience ever for any Asian stay away they can’t cater for us chef definitely don’t know how to cook lamb curry was discusting and so was the mix grill old and rotten stay clear you have been warned

We've been visiting the Alok for over 15 years! The staff are friendly, helpful and will do anything to cater to your needs. Abs and his brothers should be proud of such a lovely, welcoming restaurant. The food is excellent - always hot, always tasty and the service is fab. We regularly visit for large family meals and the guys at the restaurant are always so happy to help with all of our needs. 10/10 will keep visiting regularly!

Ordered on Uber Eats for delivery. Below is a picture of their 'Duck Tikka' starter I received. It tasted way worse than it looks, a total of 5 pieces of what they claim is duck tikka. It's like it was microwaved from last week. Not edible at all. Very poor service and value. The rest of the meal was mediocre. Murgh masala was alright but the chefs special combination curry was lacking flavour.

First time ordering from Alok and the food was very good would definitely order food from here again 👍

Waterd down curry full of onions one of the worst bengali experience In my life

1st impression and I'm extremely disappointed with my meal from here last night. They delivered on time is the only good thing that I can say. My food turned up very cold and had to be reheated in the microwave. Stone cold coriander naan littered with burnt bits of coriander, vegetable samosa starters. I got 2 of the smallest samosas you've ever seen at a cost of £3. I wouldn't have paid a 50p for them. The curry tasted ok once warmed back up but nothing special. Egg fried rice was rubbery. I will not be using them again at any time in the future.

Me and my partner visit this place every other week and generally nice food and good service and we tip very well for it. but recently it has changed a lot not only due to covid but service and manner. We waited half hour for poppadoms that we short of and they were very stale then waited another hour an half for our starter. And the main wasnt up to standard either all this due to a large table being served on first. We will not be returning x

Great authentic indian food! The staff are friendly & professional and will go out of their way to serve you e.g. just put in the comments if you want to add peas or potatoes to your curry or how hot you want it to be. We have been visiting Alok for years, great for parties and home deliveries. I love the way the staff get to know you - you're not just a customer - and when you return they know who you are and what you like to order. Well done chaps!

This has always been the go to place for indian take away, lovely food, but this time my sister found an actual stone in her curry, about 3 times the size of a rice krispie, such a shame as now we will have to find somewhere else for takeout.

Son and I had dinner tonight..love this place, food is amazing and it's hard to believe your in Tipton once you enter doors 😁 We had Shaslik main and chicken bhuna, with samosas to start, sees pics 👍 Best thing is it's not over priced either, plus you don't wait hours to get served. Staff are pleasant and can't do enough for you. Five stars aren't enough...and desserts are absolutely delish 😋

I was surprised to see in an area where mostly populated by white British people to see a restaurant cater to all backgrounds I was in this place and I saw such a diverse crowd enjoying their meals at Alok it was amazing and the food was top staff for more than welcome they give you a warm homely feeling. Just a wonderful experience from start to finish.

Firstly, there is an excellent value Sunday to Thursday offer running (written jan 2019 ). Poppadoms, Starter, main course, naan or rice, coffee for £10.50 (excluding fish and duck dishes, but it include 90% of the menu). There were nice touches with the garnishes and presentation. Staff were friendly and helpful. I certainly recommend a weekday visit, you get the chance to try something new, whereas I would stick to my favourites at full price.

As ever, absolutely fantastic. Great food, wonderful service - there is literally nothing that is too much trouble. No coriander? Fine. Madras hot, extra saucy? Yep. Cheese with chicken tikka masala? Ok, in it or on it? Been coming here for years and will continue to do so for many more to come.
