We dined yesterday in this elegant and yet cosy brasserie, at Wolfcastle Hotel, and it was anam amazing experience. When we got there we were welcome by an extremely kind and smiling staff, that was so attentive and warm during the whole dinner. Food was to die for, like the arancini, the Nicoise. Most of all, the chocolate dessert that… oh my God, was scrumptious! The decor in the restaurant is gorgeous and the atmosphere really romantica. Will visit again soon and cannot recommend this place enough to people seeking for a romantic and haute cuisine restaurant.

Excellent Easter Sunday Lunch. The restaurant was busy I would say they had over 100 covers for lunch. But service and quality was really good. Roast beef was perfectly cooked and carved (pink as it should be). Vegetables nicely done “a julienne” they also offer to cook them more well done if you prefer. Timing was good not too fast and not slow. I had lemon meringue pie with raspberry sorbet to finish. One of the best Sunday lunches I have had in a while.

Wow! What an amazing visit at Wolfscastle for our birthdays, the best afternoon tea I have had in a while with the most delicious cakes and savouries. We could tell that everything was homemade and the attention to detail in each item was incredible. After getting married in wolfscastle hotel just over 10years ago the food just keeps getting better and better! Friendly, attentive service as you walk in from reception to the waitresses in the restaurant. Can’t wait to try the new afternoon tea in a few weeks!

We heard wonderful reviews from local people about the new head chef, Seb, at the Wolfscastle Hotel and we thought we’d try it out. We have eaten at this restaurant many times before and it has a good reputation not only for its great quality in food but also has a relaxed and welcoming, country hotel ambience. We ordered from their brasserie menu and the food was impeccable. We had a 3 course meal, including some delicious hors d’oeuvres. Each course was outstanding, beautifully prepared and presented and tasted wonderful. The staff were attentive and friendly. We will definitely return.

I attended this wonderful hotel with my wife, sister in law and brother in law for Christmas Day lunch. We live relatively local and have been here many times previously and it never disappoints. The welcome and highly professional staff are second to none. Andrew, Mandy and their staff are the best there is, and as a professional musician I travel widely and experience many hotels. The standard of cuisine is always exceptional with wonderful flavours and presentation. I cannot fault the experience at all and hats off to all at Wolfscastle country hotel. No doubt like everything in life there will be the negative people who will grumble and find fault, but let me say- these grumbling (if there are any) are very much empty words. Top marks to Mandy and her team and to Andrew too for serving a delicious mulled wine!!! Be proud of what you have achieved and are doing at Wolfscastle and long may you thrive. Without doubt the best hotel in Pembrokeshire!!!

Went for the christmas Dinner with colleagues, was bitterly disappointed . We were in with lots of other companies etc, meal was 2 hrs late , they were told 2 gluten free and put red cabbage containing viniger on my plate not gluten free . Was also given normal rolls not gf had to point it out to waiters. The lack of vegetables I dont call a sliver of parsnip and 2 of carrot and 4 green beans , 2 roast potatoes with 3 small slices of turkey a meal . My colleagues had a little more, a pig in blanket, some had a smear of mash or a small piece of stuffing . Was offered carrot and parsnip mash with pasta whatever that was ? No coffee and mints I recently went fine dining at an award winning restaurant in suffolk , there was far more on my plate than here . This was our treat to ourselves as some if us have had a tough year personally. You can imagine how we felt. I myself went home and actually cooked myself something to eat . Only good thing was the music .

Anticipating a great experience from a relatively expensive sunday lunch from a posh spa and eatery I came away disappointed. On arrival passed several staff but with no response. Found the bar and bought two ridiculously expensive drinks and awaited friends. Told to come this way by staff who disappeared to talk to someone else. Very average seating. To be fair, the soup and souffle starters were good. Told they had run out of sirloin main and was offered brisket beef dinner instead with a free yorkshire which is menued as £2......are you serious, £2 for a yorkshire on a sunday lunch. Main meals chicken which was dry and brisket the same with overdone edge, the veg both served on plate and in additional bowls was just stodge and barely recognisable with greens dry and the £2 free yorkshire was like cardboard. Gave up on deserts as most were not available. The loud coffee machine was right by our table and made conversation difficult .We were guests of friends otherwise I would have spoken to staff about these issues. Will I return....no, will I recommend.....no.

We try and visit as often as possible when we are in Pembrokeshire and last night's visit merits a special mention. The meal was excellent as always with lovely innovative combinations used but notably the service was top-notch, particularly bearing in mind that they had a particularly busy day with their Ladies Day Event. Even though a number of items on the menu had run out they were able to replace them with equally tasty alternatives and were very flexible in changing items around. However, my medium-rare steak arrived well-done but it was immediately replaced with no fuss and profuse apologies and was very good. Well done to Daniel and all the hard-working Brasserie staff.

Went for an evening meal at the brasserie. Service was prompt and friendly. We had starters of scallops and goats cheese. The scallops were really excellent and the goats cheese bonbon was very good. Mains were Thai monkfish curry and pork. The monkfish curry consisted of three 1 inch cubes of monkfish and two prawns stranded in a sea of green sauce. It was okay but really not much in the way of monk fish. The pork was also okay but a huge amount of meat with quite a small amount of other things on the plate. Dessert was a chocolate bomb which was a pleasant combination of flavours and textures. I found it overall rather too sweet and cloying but I’m not a big fan of desserts anyway. There were small annoyances which I was surprised at. Table water was served in a jug which looked like it had come from the school dining room. There was an electric flickering candle on the table which looked really naff. The piped music was a dreary anodyne piano medley. So in conclusion, some of the food was excellent, some pretty average and with a cocktail and a pint of beer the bill was over £100. For that price I think there should be more consistency in what we were served.

Having been recommended to visit for an evening meal, we booked a table for 5 persons. 4 adults 1 child. I had the Solva crab bisque as a starter, the portion size was miniscule there were only a few flakes of crab on a slither of French bread floating on top of the two spoonfuls of bisque. I expected more volume and more crab. My main course was steak. £27. The steak itself was very nice, however the 3 times cooked chips had obviously been overcooked and were flat hard and crunchy. The accompanying onion rings had also been overcooked and were dripping in fat. Steak fine everything else poor. Desert strawberry pavlova. Being summertime and the fruit season I expected fresh strawberries. The pavlova was the size of a teacup the filling was a compote of strawberry which could well have come from a jar, I had 2 slithers/ cubes of strawberry and not a fresh strawberry in sight. This is the worst pavlova desert we have eaten anywhere. I've eaten better from a supermarket. We have eaten frequently in high end establishments and don't expect huge portions but do expect quality and sufficient quantity. I rearly leave poor feedback but felt compelled to on this occasion due to the disappointing meal considering the cost of £212 (£24 drinks bill) less the government contribution. M

There is a lovely modern ambiance in this resaurant and it is clear that the chef is talented, albeit some of the portions (the crab starter for example) were rather ungenerous. The food quality and service were both very good, with touches of luxury. It was good to find such quality and such cheery staff. Overall, we strongly recommend - indeed our group of 4 returned for a second evening and we enjoyed both occasions. The only detraction from a higher rating is because the substitution of a frogs legs ingredient was not advised when ordering and our second booking had been lost leading to a wait for the table that was found for us.

Everyone in my party enjoyed their main course. Lamb shoulder and fish pie were delicious and triple cooked chips with the cod were to-die-for. However, I ordered a cheese board selection for dessert and at £9.50 it wasn’t cheap. I have to say it was the meanest plate of cheese.I had ever been served and none of the cheeses were particularly impressive. I like my cheddars and blue cheeses to be strong. Otherwise, very pleasant evening but considering we didn’t have starters i thought it was quite expensive for the portions.

I brought this to the attention of the waiter/waitress 4 times and nothing was done about it. I have to say I agree with the review from Darthmarty as I was one of the family gathering it was my surprise 50th birthday, even though I hadn’t preordered like all the rest, I agree service was very slow and steak over cooked we should have complained but no one was around when we were eating, things were forgotten and timings were awful. For a mid week gathering and it wasn’t busy it was disappointing food wise but a lovely gathering of family

We had a small family gathering (15 people) recently and 13 of the 15 had pre-ordered. The weather was lovely, the setting beautiful, the hotel looks great, has fairly recently had improvements and that part of it is superb, it really looks great and has a fantastic reputation.

Five of us visited for lunch today, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The food was inventive, piping hot, tasty, well cooked and beautifully presented. I enjoyed the broad bean, pea and asparagus with Parmesan, whilst others had delicious fish with crispy chips, lamb shoulder and pork. Of course a must when we visit is a coffee, accompanied by sweet, sticky, homemade fudge.

My wife and I visit restaurants in and around Swansea every Saturday. By way of a change we decided to visit this hotel for an overnight stay and meal. We were not dissapointed. The facilities and friendly staff were great. The meal in the restaurant was excellent, the cockle popcorn worthy of special mention. We will definitely visit again and maybe stay longer and experience the surrounding areas. Thanks for an enjoyable evening.

Second visit here in 5 weeks. Booked the Wolfe Country Hotel for my sister’s birthday. This place is beautiful inside and is a great venue for a special occasion. Staff are friendly and very efficient at their jobs. Menu is varied and the food is excellent in quality, presentation and flavour and very well priced. The only one thing I would say , on our previous visit I had the seafood paella which was served in a ceramic dish and was fabulous. On this visit it was changed to a cast iron sizzler type skillet which was too hot and dried out the food too much. Think this doesn’t suit that type of dish. We all , however ,had another fantastic evening and will definitely return. Thanks to all for making it a great occasion .

Excellent meal on Saturday night, love crispy pork bonbons! Service was fabulous. My husband was really pleased as he was deciding on what soft drink to have as he was driving and was recommended a selection of non-alcoholic drinks, he really enjoyed the pale ale.

Lunch was amazing, the walnut bread we were served prior to our meal arriving was delicious. I had the steak baguette and my husband had the pulled pork wrap, they were both so tasty, presentation was lovely, as they say you eat with you're eyes and we both couldn't wait to tuck in. The waiting staff were great and attentive. We can't wait to visit again.

The soup to start with was nice. The main course I chose was Roast beef sirloin which you paid an extra £1.50 for! It came on a plate, very rare and very fatty (white fat!). The slices were were extremely thin and by the time the fat had been removed there was not much left. The gravy was bland and left a greasy feel. The veg was ok. The roast potatoes were huge and tasteless. No roast parsnips. All in all there are far better resaurants in the area who can provide a decent roast dinner at a better price and more comfy surroundings. Also if they ask you if you’d like water with your lunch thry will also give you the choice of fizzy or still. If you go for still you will be given a bottle and charged over £4 quid. Of course tap juice would be free.

Ok, don't let this review put you off, so I will start off that we were driving through and as we saw the sign, we decided to stop and go in for food. I knew, from delivering ingredients to them before that they were a fine dining sort of place, nothing like the pub grub we are used to, so we expected some good stuff coming out of this, over-priced small portions. (Not always a bad thing)... here comes the good points:

We called for lunch without a booking and were welcomed in out of the rain to a warm and light dining room. A set lunch menu and an A la Carte menu were on offer and we tried the soup, which was their own spicy carrot and coriander, for starters, and a guinea fowl chasseur and a chicken Caesar wrap with home-made crisps and coleslaw for our mains. All nicely cooked and presented. We did not have desserts but the menu was equally varied. All-in-all a nice lunch and a atmosphere in which to dine.

I visited the restaurant with a group of friends for a three course evening dinner and left with a full tummy, having enjoyed every part of the experience. The food was delicious, perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. Service was professional with smiles all round and when ordering from the bar, I was pleasantly surprised to be accompanied by a waiter back to the table. Thank you for an enjoyable and first class evening. I look forward to my return.

Had our annual event at the Hotel this weekend (January 2019) and it was absolutely fantastic thanks to the staff at the Hotel, the service was second to none from the initial meeting a few months ago with Andrew the owner to the actual evening, very professional and polite staff, the food was outstanding, the waiters and waitresses were fast and nothing was too much trouble for them, a couple of us went to sort a few things out for the table settings in the afternoon prior to the event and Mike couldnt have been more helpful, even the lady on the front desk changed our seating plan on the computer for us due to a few name changes, our evening went without a glitch and we cant thank the staff enough, the room was laid out for us and the place was spotless and everything shining. we will definitely be using the Hotel for future events and will highly recommend it to others.

What a gem! We booked a spa package of 2 treatments plus use if the jacuzzi and sauna with lunch included. The hotel is very easy to find and the reception staff are charming and welcoming. It was New year’s eve and the function room was beautifully decorated for the night’s festivities. Our time in the spa was relaxing with complimentary tea and coffee, the treatments we chose were a very relaxing hot stone massage and a superb facial. The jacuzzi and sauna are outdoors and could be tricky to manoeuvre... my old mum had us to help her but the staff are always on hand. Only downside was that the mirrors misted up badly in the changing rooms after a shower so you couldn’t see to dry your hair etc and an additional separate conditioner should be made available as the combined shampoo really was not enough. The bistro/bar is light and airy with a good menu selection. The staff really make an effort to welcome you and the gentleman who appeared to be a manager was super kind and friendly. Our food was delicious, steak and caramelised onion baguette, cod and chips both adequate portions and piping hot. This really is a delightful treat and we will definitely be making another trip soon.. highly recommend this dog friendly, country hotel and spa

We escaped a downpour here, we weren't planning on lunch, but ordered a sausage sandwich to share and it was great. The place was packed and very busy, but we'll run. The buildings are interesting, a maze of properties joined together, with the brewery downstairs. There's also a shop and coffee shop part of Harbwr. There are many places to eat and drink in Tenby and this one should not be missed
