Despite the name, we were quite disappointed in the appearance of the cakes on display, particularly as the celebration cakes on the website look great. We chose toasties, which arrived with (tasty) doorstop bread, a tiny amount of slimy salad (yuk!), and a teaspoon of coleslaw. The coffee was nice. The ambiance was dark and gloomy, but perhaps because we had to sit inside on a dull day. We felt for what we had, the prices were over-inflated - especially the cakes, at a price which you would expect to pay in a premium establishment . And all prices were higher than advertised on the website, which needs updating. Lovely that the place is dog-friendly, but sorry, we wouldn't return.

This little coffee shop in Emmerson Terrace is very friendly, 5* hygiene rated. Good quality cakes etc. It is a little gem of a place. Good behaviour dogs are welcome! Ideal stop off after walking the dog in the park opposite It has outside seating area too

We visited on a Friday evening for food before seeing a show at the empire, the atmosphere was great and the staff were extremely friendly! We had 4 meals and all the food was red hot, delicious and very good portion sizes , my husband left his glasses on the table that evening, I rang back and they confirmed they were there and with us being a 3hr drive away, they offered to post them out to us! Absolutely amazing service, I would not hesitate to return next time we are in Sunderland

Went to martinos seaburn with my family and the owners we obviously in walking around dressed like scruffs and pulling the staff aside every 2 minutes! Staff were doing a great job but the owners made us and other feel uncomfortable the way they were going on. Put us right off and will never be back. Food was spot on just owners thinking they are big time dressed like drug dealers

Visited Keel Tavern for lunch over the weekend. The place is stylish and feels very upmarket. The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. I ordered the pie, chips and peas. There were a variety of pies but I opted for the mince, Guinness and onion pie. The pie was absolutely delicious, bursting with flavour and complimented nicely with the gravy that accompanied the meal. The chips were tasty and the peas were fresh. This place is certainly worth a visit, meals were well priced for what you get and very filling.

The whipped large ice creams in plain cones were tasteless & in my opinion overpriced due to this. I’d not recommend it for a whipped ice cream. Save your money. There are better quality ice creams in and around for £2.50.
