Ali's Balti in Corby

Great food, lovely service, great place to eat and chill out for a hour or so. Staff are excellent, great value for food, food is served in a very timely manner. Excellent, 10/10 I will be back 😀

Delicious food of a high standard. Very generous portions all served with a smile. It may not be the most plush of environments. It was quite dated. However, the food was delicious, and I would highly recommend giving it a go.

Only had takeaway this time but the restaurant was busy when I collected. Food was amazing as usual. Collection was on time.

Ate here before Xmas with my partner and on the whole had a lovely night. Food was quick, hot, flavourful and portion size good. Their service is impeccable and always coming to make sure everything is alright with your meal. Only thing I would say like most Indian resteraunts. If you don't drink alcohol with your meal you have a coke that is usually flat or warm. I wish Indian resteraunts would actually start buying in cans of coke or irn bru to have with your meal...ali's is not the only Indian in town who doesn't have cold fizzy drinks to serve with food..this is my only complaint about what I feel was a great meal. I will be coming back though.

Booked here for a family gathering of 20 people. Staff are amazing and recommendsome good dishes. The atmosphere was really good. Even though the restaurant was full, the food came out all together, hot and fresh. Everyone loved their meal and have said they would come back. Would absolutely recommend going to sit in. We are trying our first take away from here tonight. Thank you to all the staff and cheifs.

We ordered lamb tikka sag chicken bhuna and plain nan with pilau and plain rice , all the food was cold on arrival and the lamb was so tough it couldnt be cut or chewed. The nan bread was dry and inedible . We have had decent food from here before but had to throw most of this in the bin . Very disappointed.

I ordered chicken curry with boiled rice, vegetable samosa, mushroom bhaji, bombay also and a chapati, this is the worst Indian u have had in a long time! Every dish was dripping in oil and couldn't eat it at all, expensive and certainly not worth the money!

Very expensive for small portions. Twice we have ordered from here recently and on both occasions the meals barely had any chicken. I counted 3/4 pieces of small chicken in my tikka masala which is not acceptable for the price of the meal. The onion bhaji was very dry, such a shame as we have been ordering from here for about a year with no issues up until now. Sadly we won’t be back anytime soon.

Great restaurant with decent grub. But. I called and ordered a takeaway for tea, just fancied something hot and spicy. Well asked for naga chicken, bombay potatoes and a nan bread, waiter asked, adult or children's meal, which I thought was a bit odd and replied adult. Well collecting meal OK got home starving, this is going to be good. First bag I opened was chips the next one chicken nuggets dam. I called to let them know and to be fair the guy thought I had said nuggets NO. He offered replace the meal but I was starving and the nuggets weren't too bad. I will use Ali,s again good food and reasonably priced. Tom.

I had a takeaway from Ali's balti and the food was not good the chicken naga balti chicken tasted funny and the chicken and chips and peas were under cooked and I wouldn't recommend them or place a order as I had to complain about the quality of the food delivered and the peas were hard like bullets and the curry of the chicken was very funny taste like it was gone over or gone off I won't be ordering from this Indian takeaway again.

Staff friendly, we didn't have to wait long for our order, food was delicious. We had booked a table for 5, we had 1 1/2 hours there then was informed they had another booking for that table. It is a small restaurant but very busy with take away orders which we have also had occasionally, food cooked very well, efficient service.

This is an amazing curry house. Staff are always polite and friendly. Delivery driver is always on time and polite. And as for the food, there are no other word than wow!!!! Mmmmmm

Ordered food for collection. Arrived at allocated time and had to wait 45 minutes. Returned home, items from order missing. Unable to get through via phone so had to return to restaurant.

Really poor meat. The chicken was crunchy the lamb was fatty and the poppadoms where stale. I called to let them know and they said sorry. I won’t be ordering again

Every single time I’ve ordered from here, they seem to avoid giving me the things I’ve ordered. They’re useless and I recommend ordering from somewhere else in the area because I doubt they’ll get your order right either

I’ve tried several Indians since I moved to Corby several years ago and never found one I really liked. That has now changed. I’ve had a few takeaways and the other night I sat in the restaurant with a friend. The food was excellent, best I’ve had in ages and the service was good too. Very highly recommended.

The food was tepid when I got home considering I only live round the corner and was driving disappointed because the food is usually hot and tasty

Food is excellent, I am rating this place 4 stars because there has been a few occasions when they have got my order wrong or mixed up. But they sort it out each time and got a free bottle of wine. I would suggest having a takeaway or pre booking a table as the restaurant itself is quite small. but overall a lovely Indian restaurant.

We ordered a lot of food after want to have some poppadoms but they tasted like they have been dipped in grease not very happy with them

the lamb korai is so goood and the food is not oily rich and tasty never disappoints. takes about 30mins to 45mins depending on the day but never later all good value

Meat was cooked perfectly sadly sauce was rubbish very watery no flavour vinderloo was at best no hotter than a korma £45 disappointed and gutted tbh

Use Ali's Balti all the time but sorry to say we have just had a takeaway and its was awful! The starter was cold, the mains had leaked in the bag and then when eating them both curries were tasteless and bland. Very unusual and a shame.

Just had my food from Ali’s Balti it was absolutely superb. I have been to Goa a couple of times and thought no Indian at home could compare. I was wrong. This meal was just as good. Well done to you all. 👏👏

Really not impressed. Ordered a takeaway and had to tip the curries and covered with kitchen towel, it was brimming with oil!! This has also leaked all inside the bag and onto my kitchen side. Curry was tasteless. Will not be ordered from here again.

ITS A LONG ONE GUYS - DO I RECOMMEND? - NOT ANYMORE! To say I am appalled, would be putting it lightly. My family has been using Ali's for years. Don't get me wrong, it's a treat kind of thing. Not a regular every week take out. The food and the service used to be absolutely brilliant. I am not sure what on earth has happened to this place, first off the food started to go drastically down hill, but we gave the benefit of the doubt and just thought maybe we they were having a bad night. However, when we would order either once a month, or even maybe rarely, twice in one month if we were having a night we didn't fancy cooking, then we would order from there. But, the food didn't improve. Then, one night last week, I ordered for the first time in months, I put a note on there for the sauces to be done in a specific way, which I always have done, and its never been a problem. Infact, it was at one point offered to me, which is why I've done it since. I would order a load of small sauces (paying the each individual amount) and just note and ask for it to all be put into a big pot after being suggested to me first, so I did it from then on. I then recieved a phone call from them demanding I pay an extra 60p for them to do it like this, which I wouldn't usually have an issue, however if this is the way its been done for the past year or so when I have done the once a month order, then what on earth is the issue now? They then proceded to bark down the phone at me, about god damn sauce. The issue was finally resolved, thanks to the young girl working there and I must add, she is a credit to this restaurant now as frankly, I could see them losing a good chunk of customers without her and I will follow onto why. Anyway, following on.... I recieve my food. One of the dishes didn't seem quite right, so I phone to ask as it doesn't seem to be what I usually order. As, on the website it saves my order and I usually just repeat. I accidentally took the tikka off (not realising there are two different) and then just added it back on. Obviously, its not the same so I phone and ask about it, before I can even get through a sentence the man on the other end of the phone is full on shouting at me, keeps talking over me, right at the top of his voice. He then passes me onto the young girl, who turned out to be his daughter as I had the two dishes mixed up, I admitted my fault. I didn't make a deal out of it, just asked for it to be explained for next time. However, i did mention to her that the previous persons attitude and customer service skills were absolutely vile and I would never expect to be spoken to in such a manor by ANYONE. She then passes him back on so I can try to have a calm conversation with him as of to why I wasnt happy. He then proceeds to carry on shouting at the top of his lungs down the phone to me, not letting me get a word in, asking "what do you want, im busy" over and over again. Whilst Im trying to tell him, I will not be spoken to in that manor, oh and then went on to hang up on me. You've got to laugh or cry, right?! haha So. If you are thinking on ordering from here, the food is bland and basic and the customer service is an absolute joke. Only if you fancy being screamed at down the phone for no good reason and fancy a curry as bland as an asda microwave meal, will this be the place for you. The only explaination I can possibly think of is change of ownership, because the food used to be beautiful, along with amazing customer service. I do find it very sad as this used to be a place where my family would gather for a meal on an occasion. Very, very sad. I really do hope the horrible little man who deemed it acceptable to speak to me in such a disgusting manner, learns some basic customer service skills and how to respectfully treat another human being.

Have to say that we have not used here for a while as just eat app was easy- but the Indian on their app has not been very good so downloaded this app and placed our order - delivery was quick and close to allotted time and food was fab really enjoyed it thanks guys and girls - changed the star rating due to today’s delivery (12th March) the food was on time and hot but there was too much oil in the main dish and tarka dhal the popadom over cooked and not edible - the chicken was dry and not edible either- real shame

I only told the gentleman when I got there that I’d made 66 flights to India in 6 years so he had no idea that I would be testing the restaurant. The restaurant was spotless, and despite being in an area of Corby which has been neglected in recent years, the outside was well maintained and spotless too. This is always reassuring, and tells me that Ali’s taking pride in the restaurant’s appearance, hygiene and cleanliness meaning top rate food. In fact, Ali’s is the only restaurant in Corby that has Puris on the menu. The others will make them, but few people ask for these delicious deep fried gram flour roti. Additionally, some places have charged doubled £3.00 each, what Ali’s (£1.50) charges, so this is a pleasant surprise. I had a lamb Dhansak and the meat was tender and very plentiful. My son had a Korma and it was excellent, as was my wife’s chicken tikka. The only very slight, tiny thing was the takeaway was in foil containers and these always leak. However, these were in a very sturdy plastic bag which didn’t leak at all. It’s not enough to stop me going back because the food is the best in the town. I shall be recommending this to my family and friends, and I shall certainly visit when the restaurant opens again. You won’t get better Indian food I the town from a spotlessly clean and friendly restaurant. I highly recommend it.

Exceptionally poor service tonight. Ordered before 1800hrs. Called them at 1920 and were told 15 mins. Still waiting for meal at 2016 hrs with the takeaways phone apparently off the hook. Now making beans on toast and expect a full refund.

Rang the restaurant to see how long the wait would be for collection on the second number advertised on the 'contact us' section of the website. As it was the first time I had used this restaurant, having heard lot of positive things, I was told it was up to me but that I was calling on their fax number instead of the alternative number and quickly ended the call. We then placed the order online as I couldn't get through on the other number, only to be called 20 minutes later to say they had just received the order 'now' and then 'ten minutes ago' and it would still take another hour to be collected. This had gone up from the 50 minutes I was advised in the first place. The girl answering the phone is quite abrupt, and apathetic. It feels like you are disrupting her evening by calling to place an order or to enquire. This has definitely put me off ordering or trying the restaurant again, which is incredibly disappointing considering we had been recommended to you so many times. I would maybe reconsider who is representing your business on the phone.

Superb as usual. Whether takeaway or restaurant, the food here is always first class. I have tried all the others over the years, but Ali's is head and shoulders above them all.

Normally we eat here once a month or so, in person. Myself, and my two teenage sons. The current virus situation has made this impossible, so a delivery it was. Food arrived hot, well packaged, and as good as the restaurant food in every way. I know I have said this before; but once again, this is the best restaurant in town.

I ordered some food today the staff were speaking very rudely especially a girl and she never told me her name. I am every disappointed I don’t understand how the girl still has a job here. I know the owner very well but the girl didn’t let me talk to him at all. Normally when I order the food is very good quality and good for the money. I hope the owner will call me ASAP this is why I’m posting this.

We collected 3 main meals, during the current lockdown and they were excellent. Discount also given and the food was still warm when we got it home. Will certainly use Ali's again. Great service.

We've been here a few times as a family. The staff are really friendly and accommodating with our two little ones. The food is really great, have never been disappointed here. Went for a chicken ceylon and it is one of my favourite dishes, hot but flavoursome, sometimes you can tell with hot dishes that it's just had chilli powder dumped in there. Not the case here, the spices are fresh and the heat really builds up. Would recommend to anyone who likes a decent curry at a really good price.

This place has really gone down hill. The food is very poor quality and they more often than not get the order wrong. Avoid it like the plague. There are much better places to eat in Corby.

A lovely little restaurant, ran by genuinely nice people. Food is first class, portions are large, and the menu is superb. Whether for a sit down with my sons, or a quick takeaway, this place always delivers.

Best Indian in Corby. Me and my partner only use Ali’s and always tell others to try. Although I wouldn’t recommend eating in, it’s always completely full and takes a while to even get drinks.
