Ali Baba Lounge & Shisha Cafe in Birmingham

Coffee machine not working. No halal beverages apart from cocktails were available. They sell alcohol in an Arabic name venue. At least change the name to to Thomas’s dads coffee house

Perfect place to unwind, coffee shame is amazing and the chips are tasty. You can either, drink, dine, eat or all while chilling out. You can listen to music and or watch tv. Great crowd.

Seats need to be changed as they are dirty

Great hidden spot for shisha and tea. Never had food so don’t know. Nice cosy spot if you want to grab a shisha and moroccan or turkish tea.

Guys, if you have minimum order per person, you should communicate this prior to people being seated. Myself and my friend weren't happy after being told we had to order more or we would be charged regardless. This was after we had already ordered drinks, which is really poor service. The ventilation in your establishment can't be legal, I was under the impression indoor smoking was banned in the UK.

The interior doesn’t really give and needs some updating, but they have REALLY GOOD shisha (hookah) for $18. They have a lot of flavors I haven’t previously seen at lounges back home (or maybe I just haven’t paid attention in the past). They have 2 for 1 cocktails all day everyday (they could have been stronger). The staff is really nice and I got a burger there that was pretty good.

The best place for a relaxed night out. Ambiance is great and service is great. It’s a nice and safe place for women to enjoy sisha and drinks.

Visiting from San Francisco, and Ali Baba was the perfect stop to relax and unwind. They have a lot of great Hookah flavors, Beer on Tap, snacks, TVs/Music, great location! It was a perfect evening. The service was great. The seating was comfortable and they have a perfect vibe to all ages. Must stop and must try spot.

This is a Shisha smoking place. I went there with a friend visiting from overseas. We noticed thick smoke on our arrival and did not stay. I did not know smoking indoors is still legal in the UK.

Went here for the first time the other day and what a place! Friendly and knowledge staff, really chilled atmosphere and the food was genuinely stunning. Couldn't find a single fault with the food or any of the pricing, will definitely be coming back.Soon!.

Lovely place great service definitely recommend.

Not going to lie, they have great food and I have not had one problem in over a year, however yesterday my sister and myself placed an order by deliveroo, the order never got delivered due to a mix up between the driver and the restaurant, this resulted in us being £25 down and having no food, both deliveroo and the restaurant refused to assist us despite the problem being due to their negligence, I will miss their food but we have our principles and in business customer service and satisfaction need to be on point at all times.

I used the toilet, no one was around so carried on. I then come out of the toilet to be confronted by a white male staff member. Asked if I asked I said no sorry no one was around he then said I hope you cleaned yourself this time and flushed the toilet, In front of everyone and everyone laughed including other members of staff (female) when I’ve never been in this shisha lounge apart from one time when I waited with my mate to be served after 45minutes we then decided that it was a joke so we left. This Is appalling never go here!!! They’re rude to people and they are appalling with customer service!!

Attended this cafe around 3 weeks ago, was greeted and seated by the staff. The decor was amazing and very Instagram I really enjoyed the vibe friendly people and staff! The food was amazing came out within 15 mins masala chips are to die for!!! Food quality and presentation was very well presently and tasty !! Can’t wait to go again thank you for a great evening

I’m going to have to say the Arabian vibe is at its best👍🏽. However, food was below average. Honestly it was disappointing. I had me a chicken wrap which tasted bland. We also got some Mexican fries. They weren’t that bad. Overall, it’s overpriced for such food. I wouldn’t revisit.

A great place with really nice food and drinks. The chips and burgers are amazing. The staff is very friendly. The environment is very chill and good for studying.

My favourite chill spot in Birmingham, nicest staff and banging munch. I love the Karak Chai and the shisha is amazing. Definitely worth a visit if you haven't been before. :)

Worst lounge and coffee house in Birmingham Customer service skills are poor, tables unbalanced (shaking). Rude customer service, have no people skills, shisha has no taste, very overpriced and overall rubbish.

We had the most delicious food here, grilled peri chicken burger was perfect. The chips are absolutely to die for. Tried the Shisha for the first time too and it was a great experience. Couldn't fault anything at all, even the staff were amazing ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Shisha is good, coal gets changed regularly. The vegan burger is amazing. +1 for the spicy mango sauce

Really nice place for eating and chilling out. Frequently visited for shishas. Food: one of the best chicken burgers are made here (give the chicken fillet burger a try and you will understand why).

If you want really good shisha, welcoming customer service, flavoursome food with a variety of refreshing cold and hot drinks, a great and friendly atmosphere, then this is the only place to be in Birmingham! Visit alone or with a group of friends, no other shisha cafe/lounge in Birmingham comes close to the standards Ali Baba has set. Its an all round winner! 10/10! - Try the Marcus Mix shisha!

An absolute hidden gem of Selly Oak and Birmingham. Delicious food (the best desserts in the city), wonderful warm drinks, and the best shisha flavours. The staff are lovely and incredibly polite. Service is impeccable, couldn't be quicker!

Nice spot! Good food and the shisha is on point. This place has always got a good atmosphere and vibe unlike other shisha lounges in Birmingham, the owner Kiran always makes us feel welcome and has a laugh, great people!

Amazing décor ! Reasonably priced and lovely food.

Really disappointed. After seeing the great reviews I really was looking forward to the food. The food arrived cold! The panini was tiny. The cheesy chips had no cheese! And the Mexican burger had no nachos! No I don’t recommend!

This place is a hidden gem in Birmingham. The food is always exceptional, the service is fast and efficient, the Shisha is always smooth and tasty. I love it here, and it only my 2nd time here! Definitely recommend!

Went with 4 friends. Initially had to sit in a line to wait for a booth but found a table in the front (quieter and, imho, nicer). Great selection of Shisha at a reasonable price. Brilliant food with generous portions. Bring your own alcohol with plenty of shops open late around to get it from.

Disappointing and disgraceful service. The guy made me and my daughter wait in the rain outside while he’s casually made us our order. The chai was cold and tasteless. Really really disappointed

I ordered a baguette and a panini and a chicken sub on deliveroo. I didnt expect them all to just be fried chicken. Would be better if you made it clear if grilled chicken was an option. Did taste good though, but really had an apetitie for grilled chicken instead. Will order again soon to try the other stuff, keep up the good work

Very friendly staff and tasty shisha and coffee. Has been recently renovated too and the new decor is much more comfortable before. You can also sit in the front (away from shisha smoke) and just grab food and a coffee if you don't feel like having shisha. I really recommend you try it!

If you want proper a shisha, nice smokey and flavour some experience this is the place to go I kid you not. It's not like the other shisha cafes with music blasting of the top of your ears, you can actually conversation without screaming.

Great spot for a shisha and food. Not as noisy and crazy as some shisha bars that try to go for the club vibe. Nice quiet spot with very friendly staff. Food is great here too. Would recommend their burgers.

Best shisha lounge in Birmingham. The staff is excellent, down-to-earth and helpful. This place is using natural coals, so expect frequent changes, but a better quality overall. As for the flavours, you have plenty of options to choose from; I can wholeheartedly recommend the <<Roses>> or <<Lemon & Mint>>. The prices are quite attractive and deliver great quality for its money. I would dare to say that the music choices are not the best, expect '10ish Hip-Hop and Pop music, and sometimes they feel off, but that's really something up to one's preference. Do consider to give it a try if you're a shisha enthusiast.

Overall, we had a good evening but that was also due to the company. The place is quite small though so it’s not good for larger groups & I didn’t notice any other seating other than what I saw on ground floor. The sheesha was good but I am not a fan of the coal they use at it disintegrates quickly & coal changes not done often enough. The guy changing the coal was not very interactive so it felt awkward. We ordered mint & grape. I don’t think it helped that I was with a bunch of newbies so we only ordered 1 sheesha amongst 4 which probably annoyed the staff - sorry about that guys! Overall atmosphere was enjoyable though I find the lighting a little dark & hurts my eyes after awhile. We also ordered food & drinks - and a head change which wasn’t very nice but it was close to closing time. Didn’t realise they close at 12? That’s early for a sheesha lounge.Would love to go again with more experienced sheesha smokers and maybe order a couple of different flavours next time. Also you can smoke cigarettes in there as far as I am aware. but I guess that is because it primarily serves food from 11am which makes sense.

La decoración es atractiva y han hecho un buen trabajo con el espacio disponible. El salón de shisha de la planta baja no es el más grande, pero no demasiado pequeño y definitivamente es un buen lugar para sentarse y relajarse para fumar shisha. Recomendaría este lugar como una cafetería de precio razonable o un salón de shisha

What a great place to chill out and relax! You can take your own drink and chill. We even take some card games and have a giggle! All the staff are suoer welcoming and the owner Kiran never lets you leave without making sure you will come back! Our favourite place for shisha!!!
