Alfonso Gelateria in Oxford

As the other reviewers have commented this is fantastic ice cream, the best I've had here in the UK. For other comparable ice creams I've had I would mention Fenocchio in Nice, and Messina in Sydney. But if you don't want to fly for your ice cream here it is in Oxford.

Alfonso’s gelato is the best in town, authentic flavours and great quality!! I’ve lived in oxford for 3 years and I’m so happy to have finally found a place with gelato as good as what you’d get in Italy, definitely recommended!!

I'm not really a connoisseur but I do like a good ice cream and I've eaten a few from a couple of places around the world but I have to say that none have been as good as Alfonso's. In fact, he's rather spoiled other ice creams for me! The hazelnut is particularly good and his occasional chocolate doesn't suffer from the excess sweetness (and lack of actual chocolate) often found in other "chocolate" ice creams.

Amazing gelato ice cream, like in Italy. In fact, top quality like top artisal gelateria in Italy. Exquisite and healthy. Very kind and friendly service too.

I hoped it would be good, but this was much much better. Authentic flavours, unique texture and a product that does not disappoint. We loved the hazelnut, pistachio and vanilla ice cream and the lemon sorbet. But the strawberry has made me fall in love with strawberry ice cream again. So good.

Must be some serious chemistry going on in here. This is without a doubt the best ice cream I have ever had in Oxford. Don't get me wrong I do like other ones too but if you try the hazelnut ice cream from Alfonso you will know what I'm talking about. I also had a go at the, vanilla, mango, pistachio, chocolate, salted caramel and even the tiramisu, they all were very good. I will definitely be back for some more soon.

I am visiting my daughter who goes to boarding school nearby, and she told me about this ice cream truck which ice cream is super fresh and hand made and everyday there's daily specials. I went and had mango & strawberry, they taste like real mango and strawberry! I have been coming back and forth ever since.. tried many tastes.. but my dear favorite is salted caramel, so lovely you smile eating it. bravo! and looking forward to more daily specials. Be sure to have a scoop or two from the pastel coloured ice cream truck parked across Tesco Summertown when you come visit this chic village

Lewis makes the gelato fresh and it shows. The mint stracciatella tastes like fresh mint, the spiced chocolate ice cream is dark and rich, and the salted caramel is perfection.

Popped along to the Alfonso van over the Easter weekend. Absolutely fabulous ice cream - it was so difficult to choose which flavour to have as I could have easily worked my way through all the flavours. Spoilt for all other ice cream brands - this is the best I have tasted outside of Italy. Well done! Definitely worth a visit.

this ice cream is simply lush , lots of taste and quality hand made , the staff are very friendly and we will be back for more highly recommended .

Omg, this is heavenly. Fresh made ice-cream from a friendly guy in Summertown in a dinky little van. Perfect. My children are choosing this as their treat for what to on the last day before school begins again

Delicious gelato! Great ingredients, and options for vegans/non-dairy people too. the only problem is that it's sometimes hard to predict if he will be at his summertown spot. I don't know his working hours, but if he's there definitely try it.

The best gelato in Oxford, quality ingredients, affordable prices, non-dairy options, made fresh daily and available every afternoon on Banbury Road in Summertown. Will be back very soon! I highly recommend the pistachio flavor!

Seriously the best ice cream I've had in the UK. fantastic flavour. Better than g and d. I had pistachio and dark chocolate half and half in a cone. Oh my giddy aunts! Recommended. Highly. Alonso needs a shop not just a cutesy truck in summertown!

My wife loved the truck and wanted to try it out. She was not dissapointed, Alfonso serves delicious own made Italian Ice Cream. The scoops are generous.
