Aldo's Fish Bar in West Lothian

Usually give these guys top marks, but that's twice now forgot can of juice with grills burger meal, didn't bother phoning up at seemed like alot of work for the driver to bring just a can of juice back.

meat feast calzone no pepperoni and about 4 bits of chicken. 95% of filling is doner meat. completely changed in last few orders and won't order again. really disappointing

Society of St Voncent de Paul, Broxburn. We arranged a Fish Tea afternnon for 45 senior citizens with the Fish and Chips being supplied by ALDOS. All the food was deliverd freshly cooked and piping hot. Everyone who attended or had the home delivery really enjoyed the treat. Great quality and service. John Rafferty, President.

Rubbery fish cold curry sauce and they forgot the juice

First time I have been unhappy with an Aldo's order as this is my go to chippy I order from all the time. Fish arrived with no salt or sauce and I have no vinegar or sauce in the house. Batter on the fish also soggy. Worst order I have had from them

I’ve always enjoyed the food from here, I’ve never had any issues either, been ordering from here over 5 years

They listen to feedback , they take note of request made. Food is tasty and the price is good (for example a large portion of chips is £1 cheaper for the same item at Di Vitos)

Never normally have any issues but tonight the chips were almost cold and some were too hard to eat. I ordered a chicken burger with no salad and bbq sauce and upon opening it after eating our mushrooms I noticed it had salad on it and some sort of ketchup. I cannot eat ketchup or onions which meant I was left with no buns as had to throw it out and scrape the coating of sauce off the chicken then add my own bbq sauce. Won’t be ordering again for a while was a waste of money heavily disappointed

Pizza was lovely as usual. White pudding and chips was horrible, I could actually squeeze the oil out of pudding and chips. The chips were like they had been lying for ages then fried again to reheat, yuk, yuk. Sorry but we will not be back

Did not receive deserts that were paid for even after driver returning with forgotten drinks ( which were not the drinks we orderered) still no cheesecake.

Just wanted a bag of chips. Disgusting pieces of soggy bland greasy potatoes. And £3.00 for a bag of so called chips. Pathetic

This little restaurant is right next to the hotel we stayed in. It is take away only. The fish and chips were very good. The piece of fish was huge. The people were very friendly that served us.

I rarely use this fish bar due to the fact that I do not live in the area, and will only buy food from it when I’m staying at my sister’s house. The last time I bought fish and chips here I didn’t give a very complimentary review as the meal I was sold was really quite poor. On that occasion I arrived shortly after the fish bar had opened and the chips I was given were definitely reheats and the fish wasn’t all that brilliant either. Now due to this I hadn’t gone back whilst in the area, but my sister brought home fish and chips from here whilst I was staying with her last week, and they were actually very good, so much so that I went back a few days later and bought some more fish suppers. This was a huge improvement over the poor fish suppers I was given on the earlier visit and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this fish bar now.

I've ordered the same chicken nugget hoagie with garlic mayo and chilli cheese bites from here a fair few times but today's was amazing and hit the spot perfectly! The hoagie had the perfect chips with the perfect cheese and sauce ratio. And I love the chilli cheese bites to bits and could eat them all the time if I didn't have to eat healthily. Came early today which I was glad of as I was very hungry and I'm grateful they'll drive out to me when I'm a bit further out than I used to be.

food as really gone down hill used to like aldos when I first moved to the area but since late last year the food has really gone down hill donner meat always tastes like its been sitting out all night its hard and tasteless chips are soggy all round tasteless and bland food

The food is just not the same since Aldo retired and Bravo took over. Dry, hard chips that seem like reheats.The salad on my chicken burger was not fresh. It was a mushy mess. Not Impressed. I was a regular but not now after the last 3 orders were rubbish. You have many people complaining but don't seem to fix whatever the issues are. You are losing customers.

Really poor quality of food. The chicken marinade is different and not nice at all. This chicken was also over cooked which meant that most of it got left. Locally, I’ve heard the quality of food has went down hill since bravo took over. Sadly this seems to be the case.

Very bad food quality. Really disappointing as Aldo’s always used to be good, what happened? The Doner meat pizza went in the bin as all the meat was burned black and crispy. I don’t accept that this was not spotted prior to dispatching it, it was that obvious. The pepperoni pizza was tasteless and the white pudding supper was bland. Terrible value for money.

order placed 4.50pm called 5.50 then again 6.05 order delivered 6.15 stone cold.

Nearly 70 quid for an order and as I type this it’s not even here yet, so my 30 mins late could easily turn into a lot longer, not happy at all!

Ordered 3 chicken kebabs tonight, arrived cold and no salad or veg on either kebab. Paid £7.50 per kebab for cold chicken and a pitta. Guy over phone couldn't have given a damn. Last time I order from Aldos and recommend people to avoid!

Only been once, won't go back, got sausage supper, sausage was good batter was a bit over cooked and the chips looked like they had been there a while, very dry and not appetising in any way. The chips they gave me should have been thrown out and at £6.20 thought was a bit steep for what I got

Food was late, cold and rotten. I'm a regular customer at aldos not anymore. Donnereat was boggin hard and dry chips were cold and were clearly not fresh. Husbands burgers were chewy and chips not fresh and cold. Also when I called to see where food was I was clearly lied to when she told my food was on the way. Was it fk! Aldos has went way down hill

Nowhere near enough salad or variety of items on the doner kebab. Nowhere near enough chilli sauce - 90% of meat was bone dry. Mushroom pizza was ok, but not many mushrooms. Basically just ok but really really bad value for money.

As far as I’m concerned, Aldo’s is the best fish and chips takeaway in Broxburn and we have quite a few chippies to choose from. They have a good selection of items and their flame grilled burgers and fresh pizzas are delicious. Well priced and the delivery is fast too. Good customer service from all the staff.

Fish wasn't well prepared, and It tasted as if it was baked it water. If you put a fork through the fish, it turns to crumbs.

There was no way the doner kebab was “large”. Also there was hardly any chilli sauce or salad. Extremely miserable portion size for the money.

Food tasted off and smelt awful

Asked for a bottle of sauce to delivered, we were charged for it at the door but never received it. Called the restaurant to ask for it to be delivered. We were told it would be delivered, it never appeared. Food was cold and wasted waiting on the sauce.
