Alcotraz London: Cell Block Two-One-Two in Hackney

I had a private booking and the person with the key come 20 min late me and my people were waiting outside for 20 min alot of people were disappointed

Didn't choose the option with food but had different flavoured cocktails with the drink we "smuggled" in. Was a fun experience. Actors and warden will definitely make it feel real. Was awesome!

This is a fab experience. Went in a couple and got put in a cell with 3 others which just made the whole experience more fun. We were also on a fully booked session which definitely made the night more rowdy. Good value as you get 4 cocktails per person throughout the 90 minutes. You can be as involved or not as you want depending on which style of ticket you buy. The actors are really good and never break character. Definitely recommend.

From the quick witted warden and his long-suffering guards right down to the cells ... every part of this experience was awesome 😎 . Everybody laughed , drank and chanted in unison - and our release felt like it came far too early !! I rarely go for these sorts of 'join-in' shows - here the actors are simply superb . Honestly didn’t know what to expect from this place, it was booked for me for my birthday by my wife - we were both a little apprehensive as since we’ve become parents we’ve not been out a lot, but the actors, the other clients, and everything that came with the day, really made for such a welcome laugh and so much fun. I’m already recommending to friends and looking forward to doing it all again!

SCAMMED OUT OF £200!!! This place is clearly experiencing technical Issues on their website at the moment as the website is automatically booking people in for the next available day without warning and taking money from peoples banks. When emailing to explain that it booked me into the wrong day I was told I needed to give them 48 hours notice to change a booking (it booked me in for the next day which was less than 24hours notice) and then I was told after spending £200 that the only thing they could offer was a 50% discount on a new booking Sunday- Friday ( they knew we wanted to come on a Saturday as we were driving 4 hours to be in manchester). So I am now £200 out of pocket, they won’t offer us to book onto the date we want without spending another £200. I think it’s completely overpriced as it is considering you have to bring your own alcohol for £42 per person??! Awful customer service and very hard to contact. May i also add, i have emailed the email they say to contact to the below comment but no reply…

Fantastic and fun experience, I absolutely recommend it. On the food, 1 star because you don't eat but only drink and among other things if you want an alcoholic cocktail you will have to bring your own alcohol. With what it costs I didn't expect them to save on the photo but oh well.

Totally amazing experience, really fun.

Fun, drama, excitement and good drinks are all there and you're right in the middle of it all. From the structure of the story in advance, the creative and detailed implementation and the great actors make the whole thing a brilliant evening. You smuggle your alcohol into the cell. The bar team asks you in advance which cocktails you prefer and they all tasted very good. Next time we're in London we'll definitely be there again.

Our previous experience at a different location in Shoreditch in 2019 was significantly more enjoyable due to the higher level of actor engagement. Despite bringing a 70cl bottle for four people, we still had 50cl remaining, indicating smaller drink sizes. It is unfortunate that the experience this time fell short of our previous positive experience. Was definitely not worth £40plus each.

Theatrical bar with real actors that improvise jail officers and Worden, you get inmates jump suit and get in the show, no food provided only 4 cocktails

I don’t hide I was skeptic at the beginning but it ended up a really amazing experience! Everything was good: the environment, ambience, cocktails, actors. But the best part was how much the guard, inmate, warden were engaging with us all and keep involving us in all the scenes for the whole duration of the experiment. 100% recommend!

This place is totally bonkers but well worth doing! The whole experience immerses you into life as an Alcotraz prisoner behind bars. The actors are hilarious and give it 110% throughout their acts - quite scary at times too. The cocktails were amazing, but very sweet!

A great experience, there were 10 of us, we LOVED it. Great acting, I wasn't expecting it, we were really into it from start to finish. The cocktails with or without alcohol were delicious 😋 the best cocktails of my life 😍. Thank you to the team for this wonderful moment, a real pleasure.

What a great experience. I took my friend for her 40th birthday and she had the best time! The actors were all so great and they made the most awesome cocktails. There were quite a few large groups so we had to share a cell with 2 random girls but it was still really good. Yes you have to bring your own alcohol but I think that’s a good thing as you control how much you want and what you want. The price of the experience alone is worth it. I wouldn’t go again, simply because there is more to try out there but I definitely would recommend it to others.

Such a waste of money. The whole experience was awful, no real story to the acting. You were left sitting in a cell majority of the experience. Would not recommend this experience at all. So disappointed

18+ only Absolutely amazing. Can’t even explain how amazing it is. An experience you will never forget. Knowing it is their all year round is amazing. Definitely will be going again. They don’t do food only alcoholic beverages but it’s worth it.

This company is using the industrial prison complex as a THEME for a cocktail bar. Disgusting.

A very nice place with very good staging

We had a great time here, it's something different and quite fun. They get every group involved in a little task, there's little scenes of acting throughout. The girl that played Cassidy was excellent. We had 3 amazing cocktails but the last one was disgusting had rosemary in it. I wasn't happy when and check out it added £4 admin fee per person! Overall good experience, we all had a laugh.

Not worth the money at all. The experience isn’t too engaging, actors are average and their script isn’t funny / entertaining either. You literally just sit in a jail cell wearing overalls, sipping drinks, with few uninteresting 5 minute acts in between. Yep it’s literally 3-4 very small acts over the course of few hours. It feels like a drag after a point. While the servers were great, the drinks were extremely sweet and very average overall. If the experience was cheaper I’d have probably given it a better rating. Just very disappointed with how overpriced it is.

Amazing fun and wonderful cocktails

It was an alright experience. The staff were fantastic and it was immersive and made you feel like you were "in a cell". However, I was a bit disappointed as I thought it was going to be more interactive, as in stuff for us to do or look for or work out. Maybe I didn't fully read the brief as someone else booked it. So I assumed it was more of an escape room and it really was just "an immersive experience". For the money I think I expected more. Credit to the staff, they acted well and were fab.

Had a great time, this is the second time we've been but the first in their new location. The staff were friendly, the cells were comfy enough, and the drinks were amazing. Highly recommend this as a great experience to go to with a partner or friends

Please be aware and careful!!! Male staff blond hair & beard (not apart of the act at all) used his masculinity to intimidate my friend and I, he was very aggressive in his tone and body language, we honestly couldn’t believe the way he acted towards us, it was shocking and really took us by surprised! No male should ever talk to a woman or even another man like this especially when you’re a paying customer. If this event wants to employ men who are aggressive and use their masculinity to intimidate people then it is more of a reflection of them as a company! My friend and I had actually done nothing wrong and would never ever disrespect any human being, we are professional people. We thought this was an interactive event where we played the act of a prisoner, while the “prison warden” played an act of having ago at us prisoners all we did was laugh, my drink came to an end which I was drinking through a straw which made a noise and then we found a male staff standing right over us having ago at us in a very aggressive body language/facial expression and tone to his voice, we honestly thought it was apart of the act at first and had a giggle which made him even more intimidating and creating more aggression with him towering over us more having ago at us saying we were disrespecting the actors which we quickly learnt he was not apart of the act. If “prisoners” are not allowed to talk or laugh and must sit in silence then this must be said at the start. Although this bully definitely put a sour taste to the event we certainly tried to enjoy rest of the event and will say the other actors were good and the concept is fun it’s just such a shame this event & company think it’s acceptable for this guy to talk to people like this, if this guy thought we were doing anything wrong kindly have a word with us, do not use masculinity to intimidate anyone!! We did actually talk to a manager at the end who I would like to think will actually take action on this behaviour, but who knows if they will actually take this serious or not.

Honestly wasn’t worth the money. If booze was included, maybe. The actors relied too much on participation and ad libbing from guests. It just felt really awkward. The drinks were very very sweet and you just got whatever they made you. It was fun for taking pictures. If it cost a lot less I think I would give it a better rating but it wasn’t really worth the money.

It was a last minute decision to go to Alcotraz and i was a little sceptical bc of the price but it was a lot of fun. Cocktails were tasty, actors funny and experience was unique.

Had a fantastic time at Alcatraz for my birthday, really got involved in the interactive experience and ended up winning a free shot in a private space downstairs where you were taught more of the history of Alcatraz. Would highly recommend for a special event which is a bit different but full of fun and with your own delicious personalised cocktails! The actors were absolutely hilarious and had us in stitches the whole time.

Waste of time and money unfortunately. 40 pounds to sit there and drink alcohol which you have to bring. Drinks are weak as is the atmosphere and experience Fair play to the actors for trying but this a lot of money to drink weak cocktails. There are lots of good cocktail bars nearby so please don’t waste your money or time

It's a fun experience but quite overpriced for the fact that you're drinking your own alcohol. would be better if you at least got told what each drink was. Would also be far better if you're able to get a few snacks too I also paid extra to be a "janitor" I was meant to find something but never did as it seems they never replaced what i was meant to find. I only realised this near the end when i was told "Well done on finding this map". A map i was never aware of. Completely broke the immersion and was awkward for me and the actor as somebody failed to do something. It's a fun one and done experience but too expensive for me to recommend

Loved it here! It is such a laugh! Cocktails were amazing! You dress in the orange prison jumpsuit, get shouted at by the warden & you got ya pal Reggie who we loved ❤️ Will defo come back here!

Our party all had a great time at Alcotraz. Definitely something different. The actors were all lovely and took great care of everyone. The cocktails flowed the whole time we were there. Would definitely visit again and refer to friends.

I accidentally booked for the Manchester branch instead of London (where I’m based) and the staff assisted me in changing my booking on such a busy Friday night, they responded so promptly and assured me everything will be okay and set me up to go to the London branch this evening! I’ve always heard amazing things about this place but I’m just so happy that they helped me so much and the kindness they showed me. This already deserves 5 stars for how amazing their customer service is and I don’t doubt it will be up to standards when I actually go!

Went here for a friend's 40th birthday celebration. I was a bit apprehensive about what to expect, but it turned out to be really good fun. The staff are in character and really get everyone going. You bring your own drinks in and they mix up cocktails, affectionately known as Chicken Soup, with what you bring in. Then you get the rest of the drinks back at the end of the night. Good fun, good evening. I think you'll enjoy it. 👍🏻

It's a great idea but I wouldn't go again and I would not recommend going. You have to take your own bottle of drink aswell as paying to go. The entertainment is good but short and I felt they should interscr with customers more. But I'd say it wasn't worth the money.

Lots of fun It's like being part of a play or movie while drinking nice coktails. The actors are wonderful, and the fun is guaranteed. It's a great experience in which you actually play a part, acting and helping the main characters. The atmosphere is fantastic. The environment looks like a prison block. Everybody is dressed accordingly and you can interact with everyone. The concept is absolutely great. You bring your own booze and they create cocktails based on your preferences and the alcohol you bring. Their cocktails are really good. And remember, everybody loves Cassidy's chicken soup!🤣

Alcotraz is totally immersive experience. Being served superb cocktails comes secondary to the experience. The fun starts when you have to choose a jail nickname before even arriving. Once at the venue the scene was set being welcome into a cell. All the actors played their parts well to get all inmates involved, with fun thrown in. I'm not quite sure what the cocktails we were served were, they were all superb. I'd thoroughly recommend it to anyone

This was one of the coolest experiences I’ve ever had. The staff work to make sure that you feel like you’re in Alcatraz and put on a really great performance. They also work to make the experience personal by knowing everyone’s names and being very friendly!

This is an immersive cocktail bar. Great show, friendly staff. Great atmosphere. No food, as its not a restaraunt which was fine.

Absolute rip off, 28 hens and one got kicked out for apparently touching the governor which we have video evidence that she didn't, disrespectful and purr rude

This is a must-do in London! After smuggling in your own alcohol you'll be given a total of 4 unique cocktails each while you're immersed into the prison world with live actors. Great for couples or groups and a lot of fun.

The entire experience was amazing! The staff went all out and even went out to the shops to cater for a member of our party with allergies. They got the whole crowd to get involved, honestly the most fun we had all weekend!

Really cool experience, which is highly recommend for anyone that loves a good laugh with their cocktails. The acting was fantastic across the board and everyone loved getting involved in the action! Reminder: everyone needs to purchase a ticket!! Reservations in advance is strongly recommended! A very cool theatrical bar! From the beginning the experience has started, they give you orange jumpsuit and you are playing the inmate that smuggle the alcohol inside the prison. We love our visit here, the time just flies when we realize the show is over. They will serve 4 rounds of cocktails.

If I could give this place 5* I would but I have to give it 4. You have to submerge yourself in the theatrical experience to really get the most out of it but it was great. The actors were brilliant and made the whole experience out of this world. My only gripe with this place is the amount of your alcohol that they use. I took in a 70cl bottle and walked out with more than half of it. You’re best off taking in 4 miniature bottles of alcohol. By giving customers back a half+ full bottle of spirits is provoking on the street drinking and drunk/half drunk people terrorising the local Tesco express and it’s punters. For this reason it only gets 4* despite me wanting to give it 5

Great experience in London with a group of friends.. The experience lasted around 2 hours from arrival to escape, there's no denying it's a little bit cheesy but if you immerse yourself into it you'll have a great time. Our only complaint is that we were unsure how much alcohol to take, anything you don't use you get back at the end but it's hard getting into bars and restaurants with 1 litre bottle of spirit in your handbag. As a couple a 35cl bottle would be plenty. Would definitely recommend!

A BLAST!! Literally the highlight of my trip! I was kinda nervous and didn’t know what to expect but it was sooooo fun and really interactive (as much as you wanted it to be). Will definitely do again the next time i’m in London! Can’t recommend enough.

This place is just nutts!!! Never seen such an unique enertainment programme! Crazy,fun,extraoridinary theater where you take a part and get to drink delicious coctails,4 rounds! Dont forget to bring your spirit bottle,but if you forget,nearby is little tesco. We had 0.7 liter vodka for 4,was perfect. We even asked the "security" if we can stay longer,unfortunatelly it was for 2 hours only. I would love another extra hour,dont mind paying extra. Would deffo come back again! We all enjoyed the experience!

From start to finish, this was an amazing and hilarious experience. The whole premise of “Alcotraz” is that you’re a cell mate, undergoing punishment for a named crime. The experience involves live actors and cocktails (you’ll need to bring your own liquor). There’s a warden, who is exceptionally funny. There are also guards and other actors. As part of it, you’ll do different tasks and get a chance to take lots of photos. As I’ve got hearing loss, I asked them to turn down the music, which they did. This was great, and much appreciated. I would definitely come here again and would recommend it to anyone!

It is expensive, and you have to take your own alcohol... But... what a great experience. Fantastic cocktails, amazing service, fun from the minute you step inside... I would definitely recommend this experience. Just try it once, you'll love it too.

Great experience. If you want to do something different and enjoy really good cocktails this is the place. The actors and the staff were very nice to us and it was a very fun experience. We are from Spain so if you don't speak english you will miss some of the action, but totally worth it.

No good. Slow with drinks. No good to have a laugh on 4 drinks in two hours despite taking in various bottles ourselves don’t recommend if you want to have a stag hen or drinking day out. Set up for calm slow drinking session

Great concept. Thoroughly enjoyable!

We went as a joint Stag and Hen group. We booked together as a group but were separated. This would not have been a problem but there was another group in the room with 7 people in a cell. (We were also a group of 7) we really tried to overlook this but we were also placed with 2 random girls. Again, didn't seem like a big problem until they kept serving the girls our alcohol and us theirs. We mentioned this numerous times but we still didn't have any of our alcohol. Our stag and hen group were separated for tasks and the storyline. We told staff multiple times we were a group but I don't think anyone cared. It was infuriating watching another party of 7 in the same cell have a blast next to our group. Our group had also travelled from all over the UK for this experience. TLDR It was hard to be immersed in the experience when you spend a lot of money on specific liquor and don't get to try any, book as a group and get separated when there's another group the same size all together in a cell and the group is separated for tasks. Photo is the start of the night where we tried to enjoy ourselves.

There were 7 of us and we celebrated a friends 50th birthday party. Had a great laugh, you really have to ho with the flow and 'take part' in the experience. The Warden was fab, never stopped laughing and we all loved Gill. Cocktails were great, we took in Rum, Tequila and Vodka and boy those cocktails were strong! Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Ein unvergesslicher Abend. Dort angekommen hab die „Wärter“ ein kurzes Briefing abgehalten; was man tun darf und unterlassen soll. Ganz einfach, deswegen verstehe ich die vielen negativen Bewertungen nicht. Drinnen haben wir die Kleidung bekommen und uns dann in der Zelle umgezogen. Falls man keinen Alkohol trinkt, muss man das nur dem Barkeeper sagen. Beide Cocktails, ob mit oder ohne Alkohol waren ausgezeichnet! Insgesamt waren es vier Runden. Die Show war sehr amüsant. Die Schauspieler sind sehr talentiert und bemüht, die Zuschauer mit einzubeziehen (sie merken natürlich, wer auf der schüchternen Seite ist und zwingen niemanden mitzumachen, der nicht möchte) Gegen Ende bekommt man auch die Flaschen zurück, falls noch was drinnen ist. Die zwei Stunden vergingen wie in Flug. Kann dieses Konzept nur von Herzen weiterempfehlen! Großes Lob an jeden einzelnen!
