Alchemy Coffee (Ludgate Broadway) in City of London, Westminster

Kom tilfældigvis forbi en tirsdag formiddag. Kaffetørstige. Den tørst blev slukket af den bedste kop kaffe, vi har fået i London. Tillige en super god betjening i en skøn atmosfære. Tak for kaffe.

Delicious, smooth lattes served by the kind and efficient staff in a cool space. What more could you ask for? Maybe a little espresso soft serve? Wish granted! So near St Paul’s. This place is a gem.

The atmosphere at Alchemy Coffee (Ludgate Broadway) was good , the coffee better than most but not special and overall a good experience but nothing more. Found by accident while walking through this part of London, not far from the Thames. Service was average.

Estaba en Londres con un amigo que estaba de visita desde Los Ángeles, estábamos visitando Tate Modern y, como barista, quería encontrar un buen café cerca. Alchemy Roasters es un gran pequeño lugar ubicado cerca de Blackfriars Station. Probé con el etíope y me llevé a casa una bolsa de El Cipres - Perú. Ambas mezclas realmente deliciosas. Sin duda lo recomiendo y volvería?

Nos reunimos para un café y una reunión de negocios en Alchemy. Buen cafe Servicio amigable. Fueron muy amables y nos dejaron charlando hasta 10 minutos después del cierre. Buena selección de tartas y pasteles.

I always drink black Americano - partly because I can taste the coffee better than espresso and partly to make sure it is freshly made and not hour old filter coffee. The first time I was at Alchemy they urged me to try their filter coffee. They do a brisk trade so it was super fresh and very good. So good that I went back a few weeks later and ordered a drip coffee. The second time they went through something like a Japanese tea ceremony. It was all very elaborate and involved warming vessels and cups, testing the water temperature, pouring at a certain flow, etc. Anyways - the end result of their labors was a cup of coffee which was more like a tea. The taste was amazing, and I am totally converted. The only downside is that they use small batches from single estates. This means that you find the "holy grail" of coffee and they have run out on your next visit. But, every cloud has a silver lining - it is an opportunity to start searching for that special coffee all over again!

Coffee and service outstanding, every single time I visit. Great atmosphere. Food and cakes delicious. Couldn’t recommend this place anymore.

My favorite is the opus blend with oat milk! Keep it up guys, your coffee always put a smile on my face!!

I love this place, my favorite roasters and coffee place. The guys are super friendly, and the coffee is just one notch better than anything else I tried, and I try a lot. I come here alone and with friends whenever I am in London. If I am to live in London I wouldn’t leave the place. Also if you are a coffee enthusiast you can definitely find some great beans for yourself.

I’ve been coming here since the start of 2017. Staff has gotten unenthusiastic, coffee is ok, but subjectively quality has gone down a lot this year. The counters are generally pretty filthy and don’t get wiped clean (wet clean) it seems for days at a time. Still better than chain coffee, but nowhere near where it was. Colleagues like its filter though.

As an italian i know what an espresso should taste like. Over priced over rated and burnt coffee is the only undertone i got.

A little tucked away from the main route and behind City Thameslink Station, but a great find. Different coffees offered, through choosing from two options if coffee beans, that changes continually. A real must if you enjoy quality coffee. Only slight grumble is that the staff could smile.

Called in with family for a coffee break, finished up having delicious warm croissants with jam. Coffee was good, only one criticism is that there is not much room between the tables and it was busy.

Stumbled into Alchemy on a very rainy London Saturday morning. Very very welcoming and cool place. Food great! Drinks even better. Great service and wonderful American style breakfast (which is hard to find sometimes) Unreal choice of cool drinks. Separate bar area from eating area that looks out onto a courtyard. I Do agree that the music could be a tad lower during morning/lunch hours but did not detract from overall experience. Neat place which I am sure really hops at night.

Alchemy is small in a very boutique-y and artisan sense. Barista coffees with slightly pretentious names, rare sources and described by flower and flavour notes. The coffee was good and the pastries all seemed fresh and appetising. No question of a return visit but I wouldn't go far out of my way other than.... the coffee cup art (pictured) which is highly amusing for those of us with a puerile mind.

The best coffee I had in London. These guys know what they are doing. The homemade cakes and sweets are great. Next time I would definitely go for a some wine from their interesting selection.
