Albert's Restaurant and Bar in Manchester

Was very excited to go as we’d heard great things however, the gluten free pizza we had ordered was embarrassing. It looked as if it was made for a child and made by a child would not recommend for anyone with a gluten allergy to go here. The steak was good which was the only positive.

Thoroughly enjoyed visiting today with my teenage daughter. We ordered from the new lunch menu and enjoyed a delicious Cherry Cosmo cocktail. Our server Mike was very pleasant and attentive, tending to our needs throughout.

Great visit for the lunch menu. Peppercorn sauce was a lovely addition. Shout out to Leo who made the experience extra special

Alberts Didsbury has a new lunch menu and it didn't disappoint! Tasty food lovely choices and wonderful place to catch up with a friend . Super atmosphere, chilled crisp wine and a relaxing afternoon . We will be back..probably to taste your Christmas menu ! Thank you x

Friendly staff,decor lovely.Food not impressive as has been previously.Vegan food now on main menu.Tofu starter was too strong tasting without a carb or salad to balance.The lentil curry was underwhelming,loads of cauliflower and the lentils were not flavoursome.Previously vegan menu has been good but not currently.A lady dropped 3 ice-cream sundaes next to me.Splashed my jacket,I managed to wipe off to be laundered when I got home.They offered to wipe it but I think a drink on the house would have been more appropriate.We had told them it was for a birthday but no mention of happy birthday

We had a beautiful afternoon tea on Saturday served by Ines. The experience was great both food and service. We have had lots of a/noon teas and this one was the best

We booked a late lunch on Saturday afternoon and ate of the lunch menu. Three courses for approx £18. I have always been a fan of Alberts but sometimes left a little disappointed with the lunch menu. Not this time. It was excellent. Starters of gnocchi (me) always a favourite and Mrs W had the sesame fillet, it was lovely and bigger than I expected for a lunch. Mains of Mayalan chicken for Mrs W and I played safe with steak frites, steak cooked rare. Both were excellent but wish I'd had the bream which looked superb. Desserts were small but a great way to end. All washed down with a beer a prosecco and a glass of wine each. The place was busy with lots of larger groups celebrating which added to the atmosphere. What I have always liked about Alberts is there are usually lots of staff so the service is good. Today it was first class nothing was too much trouble, hardly a wait for drink when ordered. All delivered with friendliness. I wont leave it so long next time

We waited for an hour between our starter and main course. We asked what the issue was as people who had come in after us were being served. We were told there was an problem in the kitchen. When the main courses arrived ten minutes later one was cold and the other had spoiled potatoes. One meal was recooked and two meals were refunded.

After waiting a long time for my meal it arrived with fat chips when asked for thin chips, I also asked for a slice of dry bread, I politely told the waitress, I had asked for thin chips as I don't like the fat ones, she took the fat chips away and said she would change them do I was left with my fish and peas getting cold, I told my husband to eat his as his would go cold. The thin chips arrived but they were hard and hardly cooked still no bread. A lady came and asked me was everything OK and I explained that I wasn't happy, she did say she would get me the bread and I could have more chip but by this time I'd had enough, I have visited alberts alot, but sadly I had the same issues with the chip, I will not be returning again.I sadly paid the service charge but regret paying it now.

We came up from The Midlands for our daughter's birthday meal. Table booked for 7.15pm but we were asked to wait in the bar. 30 minutes later we were offered a table right next to the entrance, so we asked if we could move further into the restaurant, which meant another 20 minute delay. We were seated & the menu arrived & I was shocked to see their menu had completely changed, so very limited in comparison to the last time we visited approx 3 years ago. Although far less choice this time, they'd run out of main courses & sides. My crab ravioli starter had hardly any crab filling & my monkfish main was overcooked & tasteless. Everyone in our party had a similar experience with different food choices. No member of staff came to ask if everything was ok with the meal. I eventually asked the very friendly waitress if the restaurant had changed hands but was told it was still in the same ownership as previous visits. Real shame as Albert's has a great position in a popular suburb of Manchester. Perhaps I should have read some of the recent reviews before booking again, rather than relying on very pleasant memories

I have just come back from Albert's didsbury after visiting with friends to celebrate a birthday. One of the party was delayed and so we were very concerned about whether the table was going to be required back. We asked a waiter whether the table was booked again and he kindly went to have a look for us. Then we decided to order and Louis was our waiter from this point on He could have not been any more helpful. He again went to look whether the table was required later and did not at any point make us feel like we were creating a problem. Every course that he brought to the table was delivered with such a smile and he genuinely gave off the opinion that he loved his job and nothing was ever too much trouble. To.me service in a restaurant is almost as important as the food and Louis provided the very best service. He is a real credit to Albert's didsbury and I really hope the.managerbreafs this. I'm a real regular restaurant goer and his service was up there with the very best I've received. Many thanks Louis and the three us will definitely be back. Thanks Jane

Brilliant experience! The waiter Louis was top notch, so professional and down to earth. Drinks arrived after barley being sat down with the food not long after. Well worth the price with quality of food and portion sizes. We will happily come back again after this night. #lemondropcocktail

Booked a table for four, two of us ordered steaks at £23, we couldn’t eat them as they were of poor quality and full of gristle and sinew. We mentioned to manager and they informed us that due to lockdown they was a problem due to suppliers of meat due to lockdown!!! I personally don’t have a problem when I buy my steaks, so no excuse for a restaurant. Alberts restaurant knocked the cost off the bill for the the steaks but the evening was spoiled as we were entertaining friends. Won’t be going again. It’s a shame as previous visits pre covid wasn’t a problem!!

I live in this neighbourhood - there are loads of amazing eateries and bars around here, so do yourself a favour and avoid this place. We usually stick to Burton Rd, but thought we’d give this place a try. We won’t be giving it another go. Despite having at least and I’m not exaggerating here, 35-40 covers free they still stuck us B in the plastic cheap seats. It felt like a punishment cos we didn’t book... then they advised us ordering was app .. e we had the choice of halloumi burger and chicken wings. LOL at which point my bf went in to chat to it host... they said their app didn’t know they were switching from brekkie to lunch and we should wait... byeeee

My man rade (rodi?) not sure how to spell or pronounce his name, but he provided excellent service when my friend made a mess. Make sure he gets his due diligence for handling the situation so professionally and with a smile . Excellent experience all round. Chips were a little late to the table but that is absolutely understandable for a place of this size and Caliber. Will be back soon xxx

visited for lunch on a busy bank holiday, waited a little while for table but we were early and we were seated by our booking time. Food was excellent - seafood risotto, curry, pizza and chicken gnocchi were all great, puddings lovely too. Waitress came and apologised for our coffee not arriving with the desserts and gave them to us for free without us asking (we hadn't even noticed they were slow) manager also came and apologised but it really wasn't slow but shows they really care about service - definitely would return thought it was lovely and great setting/decor

Don’t usually do this but thought the entire experience was worth the effort the site itself was fantastic very clean modern but comfortable with plenty of room would highly recommend a visit also would like to mention Mike who was our waiter very helpful professional and friendly really did feel he made the experience exceptional

Me and my boyfriend usually love Albert’s and have visited lots of times pre-covid. We cannot fault the food and service which was good as always, but the music was so loud we couldn’t even hear each other speak! It was really garish, 90’s music that really wasn’t appropriate for a restaurant that is as nice as Albert’s. Please don’t try to be something you’re not, you’re not a night club, we came for a nice meal and unfortunately we didn’t get that.We are really put off going again now because of this which is a massive shame.

After an excellent meal & waiter service found charges on credit card for supposed no show, Double charge of £120 explained as booking no show, when we had cancelled two days before when we noticed this double booking, still awaiting refund 9 days later, will certainly not be returning to this venue,which is a shame as this could have sorted immediately

Waiting an hour for a table which was pre booked. Food was cold. When explaining this I was told I was incorrect as this had been temperature checked. At the end after that manager eventually apologised I was told by another male member of staff that I must leave the table immediately as they needed it for other customers to which I said okay no problem 2 minutes. I was then told this was not possible and I need to move immediately. Too anyone looking to treat their partner to a date night or a nice evening my strongest advice would be to never attend this restaurant After we proceeded to leave the male member of staff winked at my partner and continued to be rude. This was her BIRTHDAY. In addition to this the blatant disregard to Covid regulations with staff members not wearing face masks or face shields is alarming. To anyone that also cares about there health I would advise going to some where else that actually takes health and safety seriously. Just a final point the best member staff was a trainee, I think this says it all. If a 0 star review was possible this would be applied.

So we came here last minute after being let down by somewhere else. When we got there at first we weren’t happy with our seating after having rung up and told there would be outdoor heating. We complained to the manager and waitress Patricia and nothing was too much trouble. We were given free cocktails and moved to a much better seating area. Food was lovely and Patricia (Patsy) made our evening with her friendly vibe and overall kindness. We were even given free liquor coffees at the end of our night without even asking!A great night but made by Patsy . I hope she gets this feedback as you could see it wasn’t just us she treated in this way.A true credit to the company! Give her a wage rise ;) Dani &Sam x

After visiting for a lovely breakfast a couple of weeks earlier and was impressed with service food and Covid organisation we visited again on a Saturday evening for dinner. I would have given 5 stars happily for the breakfast as the eggs benedict was delicious as were the coissants. The evening food was disappointing. Mushrooms on toast were sadly left as the bread was soggy and the runny watery sauce was cold. The waitress asked routinely if all was ok and I mentioned why it had been left. Sadly fell on deaf ears. The main was pleasant enough( cheese and onion pie) but chocolate volcano was pure soggy chocolate. Left me feeling quite nauseous. My main concern was how close we were to the next table of a group of girls. diners were positioned in close proximity to other diners whilst groups of tables left empty. We could have been spaced out much better. There was also groups of people from who unless student house mates were different households ( under 3 tier restrictions) one group of 6 asked to be moved nearer to their family of 4 on another table and when leaving one guest rearranged the glasses and cutlery back so it looked unused. I actually mentioned to the waitress that they should remove and reset it as they were happy to wait for others to sit there upon arrival. Would absolutely return for breakfast but overpriced evening menu. Not all our first choice was available either off the limited menu.

Albert’s is a lovey bar/restaurant, must admit though, the menu seems a bit limited since I’ve last been, food for the price is ok, not amazing. Staff are friendly though and atmosphere is good so if you want an easy tea with friends, it’s a good place to go

Fuimos recibidos o debería decir comandados hacia el desinfectante de manos cuando llegamos. Nuestro pedido tardó 45 minutos en llegar a una hora tranquila del almuerzo. Mi pollo al curry de Malasia era similar a una comida de club de BA. Suave y tibio. El pollo había sido asado a la parrilla por separado y se vertió una salsa suave sobre él. De hecho, he tenido mejores comidas en avión. Después de devolver la comida a la cocina, el gerente procedió a discutir conmigo sobre la temperatura de la comida, pero logró estar de acuerdo en que era bastante sosa.Al ver que los estándares eran en general deficientes, me negué a pedir cualquier otra cosa y me fui a casa para disfrutar de una comida casera muy superior.Vivo en Londres, este lugar no sobreviviría en la capital y era más como una cadena de restaurantes.

No me puedo quejar de Alberts, visité para un almuerzo de cumpleaños con mi hija, excelentes medidas de covid en su lugar con todo el personal usando cubiertas faciales. El servicio fue perfecto, todo el personal fue amable y servicial, la comida deliciosa, sabrosa y caliente preparada exactamente según nuestras especificaciones y servida con prontitud. Gracias por una gran experiencia.

Siempre disfruté yendo a lo de Albert, pero esta vez no me impresionó. Para ser justos, dos de nuestro grupo comieron un asado de domingo que disfrutaron. Tuve el pescado y patatas fritas sin embargo, que era muy pobre. Esperaba conseguir pescado y patatas fritas de calidad de restaurante, pero lo que obtuve fue un pescado demasiado cocido y sin sabor con una salsa tártara casera bastante suave. Me habría decepcionado si hubiera acomodado 5 del chippy local. El café que pedimos después de la comida obviamente había estado sentado en el mostrador durante un tiempo, ya que estaban tibios. Lamento no haberle dicho algo a nuestro mesero, pero no quería armar un escándalo frente a nuestros invitados. Como digo, no volveré corriendo.

Mi esposo y yo vinimos a cenar y lo pasamos de maravilla.Pedimos sentarnos afuera cuando hicimos la reserva en línea y lo hicimos.El servicio fue excelente. Nuestra camarera Alison fue muy amable, nos sirvió rápidamente y fue atento. Incluso nos hizo saber que estaba terminando su turno y que un nuevo camarero estaría cuidando de nosotros.La comida estuvo excelente. Todos llegaron a tiempo y cada plato estuvo delicioso.Definitivamente regresaría.

Una de las mejores comidas en las que he estado, el frente de la casa fue agradable y rápido, el servicio durante toda la noche fue educado y atento. Las comidas fueron exactamente como esperaba y tenían un sabor increíble, los menús de vinos eran excelentes y el bloque de soldados Shiraz es definitivamente uno para probar.

Llegamos a tiempo para dejar nuestra reserva fuera durante 10 minutos y luego nos dijeron que alguien estaría con nosotros en breve. Nadie vino, así que entramos y preguntamos qué estaba pasando. Finalmente nos sentamos. No estaba muy concurrido, había muchas mesas vacías que no se habían limpiado, comida y servilletas en el suelo, bebidas derramadas también. Un montón de personal caminando sin hacer nada.Pedimos conejo y pato para empezar. Estaba bien en el mejor de los casos, no estaba muy caliente y se servía en platos sucios.Principal, pescado y patatas fritas. Estaba bien, pero excepto el mismo estándar de un Harry Ramsden.El problema no era necesariamente la comida, era el servicio al cliente y la hospitalidad. Nuestro camarero estaba muy desaliñado, la camisa colgando con manchas, sudando profusamente y muy olvidadizo. (Olvidé nuestra agua 3 x)Finalmente, nos sirvió nuestras bebidas y las derramó por toda nuestra comida. Una vez que terminamos de comer, pasó dos veces junto a nuestros platos (mirándolos) y no se los llevó. Mientras tanto, otros miembros del personal estaban moviendo la barbilla con los invitados que fueron amigos por un tiempo o deambulando sin esperanza.Creo que esto estaría bien para el almuerzo, pero ciertamente no es un lugar para cenar. Realmente decepcionado también con los cócteles.Me sentí más como una empresa / bar tipo "mantenerse al día con los Jones" en lugar de un restaurante de calidad.

A veces puedes visitar este lugar y sus otros grandiosos enviando la comida por razones válidas y mientras esto se rectifica y los artículos se quitan de la cuenta, lo que Alberts necesita entender es que esta no es la razón por la que uno sale a comer. Es por una buena comida y cócteles consistentes que está feliz de pagar.La renovación es buena y era muy necesaria y tienen una gran terraza, sin embargo, se necesita un enfoque en la comida consistente.

My daughter & I attended. "Eat our help out". (I frequent Alberts before Covid).Shown to our seats. Took 10 mins for order to be taken. We both hard Chilli Garlic Prawns. 4 big juicy ones in a nice tomatoe chilli sauce with two average sizes of bread. Very tasty and flavoursome, the crusty bread was delicious and very fresh. We both enjoyed.Mains I had Tuna cooked well rather than Pink which came with a poached egg (omitted by me) new potatoes, green beans, capers, olives and roasted tomatoes. Have to say this is the best choice ever I've made at Alberts. Absolutely flavoured nicely, the tuna melted in your mouth and the vegetables were just beautiful. You didn't need sides with this. Highly recommend.My daughter had pizza she choose a basic pizza mozzarella and tomatoe, looked simple but the tasted great. We didn't have desserts.We had wine & Pawnstar martini. Good choices.The waitress was so polite, friendly and couldn't do enough for us.Drinks was a tiny slow coming and the initial order for food.Given 5 stars (even though 2 tiny moanas) under the covid they provided 99% great dining experience. The food was just powerful!

I have dined on numerous occasions at Alberts, and have never been disappointed.Tonight was no exception, we were looked after by Mike, who was totally professional, attentive, and had a great personality too.The food was, as always superb. I had Malaysian chicken which was full of flavour and tender, my father chose the fish and chips which was excellent, a light crisp batter with perfectly cooked, proper chips.The atmosphere in Alberts is vibrant and feels special, the menu offers excellent value too.

Three of us went a Wednesday lunch . We managed to got an outside under cover table . The menu choice is somewhat restricted at the moment due to the Covid situation . I chose fish & chips. It was good except I didn't really enjoy the very crispy chips, which were overcooked for my personal taste . Our desserts were all lovely . There was a mistake in the calculation of our 'Eat out To Help Out ' deduction on the bill . However we all enjoyed our meal out .

Dined out on Wednesday evening on Rishi’s dine out to help out offer, the place was packed and a great atmosphere. We had sourdough bread and olives to start and then our party chose fish, chips & mushy peas which had an enormous portion of beautifully cooked cod! Also filet steak with pepper sauce which was delicious and lovely crispy fries, my Grandson had a pizza from the children’s menu which he enjoyed. We all had the summer Eton Mess for dessert which again was beautifully presented and great flavours. Lovely evening in a stunning place with plenty of attentive friendly staff we will visit again and highly recommend

Excellent, well done Alberts Didsbury! Where to start! This is my 5th meal out on the 'Eat to help out scheme', it was a very hot evening, on arrival the tables were set outside impeccably, hand sanitiser on arrival and the host who greeted us was extremely helpful and polite, we requested a certain table outside which was due to be cleared and cleaned, hostess said no problem, cleared the table herself and sanitised it, hostess then walked us to the table, 5 stars and excellent service! Hostess really listens to were customers want to sit, i seen customers change there minds and move tables which were then re sanitised to keep customers happy, The food was hot, tasty and plentiful, the table service was regular, we were asked numerous times did we want anything drinks etc and to check everything was ok, we didn't have to leave our seats once to chase anything up or request anything we wanted, throughout our visit the staff worked hard in extremely hot weather with masks, cleaning tables immediately, i felt extremely safe with the very high standards of cleaning tables from the staff, thanks to all the great staff at Alberts Didsbury, you are all doing amazing job since reopening.

This was only my 3rd meal out since 'lockdown' and as previous I was slightly apprehensive about the visit. It was a warm summer evening and although I was hoping for an 'al fresco' experience the busy crowds outside meant we had to settle for indoors. Please note that we were advised that outside seating was only available on a first come first served basis so reservations not taken. Never mind it didnt detract from an enjoyable evening once we had requested and were given a ' booth table ' because the initial table was extremely small for four people. Fortunately the inside of the restaurant was fairly quite for a weekend thanks to 'Boris's' eat out to help out campaign. There were hand sanitizer stations, adequate spacing of tables, servers with clear visors so all in all felt very safe indeed. We had a number of options including , bruschetta, prawns, fish n chips, steak and rissotto all which were good. Service was prompt and atmosphere good as well.

So I was super excited to go to Alberts, and planned to go with my housemate for a Tuesday night treat. It was a cold and rainy night and it took them ages to notice us waiting by the sign outside to come and take our names. I had booked a table for 7.30 but the table wasnt ready so we had to wait again, there was no apology or any attempt to make us feel comfortable. The waiter asked for our drinks and I asked for tap water and a bottle of wine, the water never came. The food was insane, can't fault it. We then went to pay (after trying to get the waiters attention for about 20 minutes) and I asked to split the bill. However on leaving, we noticed he had charged me £17.06 and my friend £21?? Like what?? Clearly not paying attention, very poor service and probably won't return because of it. Shame as the food was good but can get better service elsewhere on Burton Road.

Dined at Albert’s, Didsbury on Friday 31st July.The service was very mixed, on arrival the greeter was okay, however, the lady who took our initial drinks order was not great; she struggled to understand the order: large bottle of Sparkling water & Tonic Water. She arrived with Still water and only one glass for the tonic, not sure where she expected the water to go. The waiter who serviced our table for food was very good and attentive. We both ordered Tuna loin to be cooked pink, this was perfect as were the accompaniments. The only concern would be the poached egg which was quite under done. That said, the overall food was good. As this was less than 18hrs after Greater Manchester reinforced lockdown, I was surprised no details were taken from myself for Track & Trace. The noise level was quite loud at times; there was a couple of people who found it acceptable to interact quite inappropriately with other people and then proceeded to shout and swear. No action was taken by the staff or management. I like the Albert’s group of restaurants, but not sure I’ll be rushing back to Didsbury very soon.

Went for our first meal out since the lockdown and we were not disappointed. Roast beef was amazing and really good portion sizes. Beef does come pink which is to my liking but if you like it more done I would mention this when ordering. In terms of social distancing all staff wore visors and there was the option to order and pay on an app if you so wished. Gorgeous decor inside and overall a fantastic experience.

Went last night £16th July)- my first trip out since the lock down. Felt really comfortable and safe without feeling weird. They've done a great job to comply with all the regulations without impacting on the experience.Staff doing a brilliant job especially our waiter James M and food was delicious as always.

It was delightful to return to a warm “welcome back” from the staff at Alberts. Whilst there are no discounts at the moment and the service a little slower - everyone was working so hard to keep up the pace in the circumstances and frankly, I preferred the more relaxed pace - you cant fault the food. Everything was delicious. My standout course was the rabbit gnocchi but everything wonderful. Thanks to everyone working so hard to make it a great experience as ever

Small portions.. The prawn starter had 3 tiny prawns terrible quality £8.50. Small steak. Won’t be returning any time soon.

We were two of the first customers to walk through the doors on Albert's reopening day after lockdown and we had a great experience from start to finish. All the right covid precautions had been put in place and we felt safe from the moment we walked in. All the staff from the front of house to chefs were wearing PPE. Our waiter (big shout out to Jason) was fantastic and explained all the processes. We were given the option to either order via the app or to order as normal with our waiter which we chose to do. The starters, Olives and brushetta were so tasty and to follow we both had the beef roast which was one of the best roasts I have had in a long time. The beef was cooked to perfection. We have recently moved to Didsbury and we will definately be revisiting. My one and only critique was my boyfriend had booked this meal for my birthday which he mentioned on his booking and this wasn't noted by anyone but as we had such a great experience this can be forgiven :)

Worth a visit! Menu is varied and uncomplicated. They use good quality of products, but the quality in the preparation and taste varies either you order a starter, main or pudding. Not steady throughout all options. Mains are def Albert's forte. Cocktails and wine offer . Service and staff are attentive.Atmosphere best during week days. On weekends gets extreamly noisyAs you get all in one go several large groups of different people celebrating Bdays, anniversaries, very loud girls nightout, etc, so service gets affected by this too.Special mention to Carlos, a great staff member!

Visited Alberts this morning for breakfast ...beautiful place felt that I was in a hotel in central London really lovely surroundings .. Good menu lots of choice and service very good.. prices fair and our party of 4 enjoyed all their choices will definitely return

4 of us, 2 couples dined at lunchtime today and even though it was busy the food was excellent as always and the service reasonable. Would recommend to anyone with limited time and a tight budget.

Cuatro de nosotros cenamos esta noche. Tuvimos una buena mesa que es importante. Todos elegimos nuestra comida y todo estaba preparado a la perfección, la comida estaba caliente y muy comestible. Jason nuestro camarero fue muy atento, lo cual apreciamos. Tuve el rlly poly con Feta y champiñones deliciosos. Todos pasamos una noche maravillosa.

Been a few times to here and it just gets better. Great food and buzzing atmosphere, 5 stars all round.

Visited on Thursday 5th March for my daughters 18th. We had an excellent waiter which made the night even better. All six of us ate different meals and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food. Nothing was too much trouble for the waiter the restaurant seemed full with a great atmosphere Thank you a perfect evening!

Went in with, couple of friends on a monday lunch time, at midday. Havnt been in since, it was the barleycorn pub, many years ago.. Opted for the lunchtime deal. Starter was the pulled pork bun. Wasnt massive, but did the job. Duck pizza was very big. Eat 90% of it, as was so full. Left a piece, but it wouldnt go in. Couple of ales, made the lunch even better.. By 1pm, this place was heaving. We will go again. We will book a table, as it gets full....

We enjoyed great food in a lively atmosphere with attentive service when meeting a friend here for Dinner. We shared starters of crispy battered prawns and calamari with a garlic mayonnaise and olives. My fillet steak was perfectly cooked and very tasty along with the thin fries and green beans finished off with a chocolate volcano and ice cream which was light and delicious. My husband ate the Dover sole which was excellent and our friend the sirloin steak which he said tasted delicious. We had some red and rose wines and sparkling and tap water. Good value for money too.

Albert's in Didsbury has been a favourite of mine for many years. The food is consistently good and the service bright and friendly in a bright, light restaurant. The Lunch menu of two courses for £12.50 is very good value for money. I think that the fact that 90% of the tables were occupied at 1.00 pm on a Thursday is testimony to that fact. I do not think many suburban restaurants can boast that.

Enjoyable couple of hours in a busy restaurant with good food, lots of customers, excellent service and value for money lunchtime menu.

First visit and it was very nice overall.

Went to this restaurant last night for a birthday meal the service was really good as were the starters, however after seeing our main food sitting on the pass for over 5 minutes it's not surprising to note it was cold on arrival a family member sent her steak back as the sides were cold only for them to send it back with a cold steak I myself sent back the fish and chips as was also cold however I refused another after seeing what happened with the other sent back meal. I would seriously think twice about going back here .

We visit Albert's regularly, this must be the fourth time in two months and we were disappointed. Service is always slow but today mid to late afternoon exceptionally slow, the starters were amazing but the mains poor - fish in the fish and chips was overcooked and only four thick chips to accompany them. The rump of lamp was chewy and the French beans overcooked and it looked like it has just been thrown onto a plate and not presented well. They really need to improve service I has to flag a waiter down several times to ask for drinks, desert menu, forks (they were all in the wash!!) and still didn't get what I asked for

20 of us went today for the January set menu today and to say it was disappointing is a bit of an understatement. Now I know this menu is priced very cheaply but I would much prefer that the cost of this menu was increased and the portion sizes were adequately sized. For the squid starter we received 3 squid rings which was absolutely shocking. 3 rings for a whole starter!! We also had 2 starters that didn’t arrive until I had finished my 3 pieces of squid (which wasn’t difficult) and some questionable pink sausages for the bangers and mash starter - they looked very undercooked. The steak frites main was let down by a very thin and small piece of steak - actually the smallest piece of steak I have ever eaten. There really is no point offering a lunch menu at £12.50 if the portions are massively inadequate and we were still hungry when we left. Please improve!!

We had a reunion dinner at this restaurant after first dining here for our Xmas get together last year and found both the food and service exactly the same standard as our first visit.

We went to the Didsbury venue and ordered starters of sea food plater and cod fillet for the main, unfortunately the main dish contained a huge piece of plastic on the plate... the staff were very nice and deducted the main meal from the cost but was sad that our pre valentines meal was below par... lovely staff and beautiful service just sad it was tarnished by a dish that had plastic on the plate

Very enjoyable lunch with three friends. We all had the set lunch and thought the food was delicious. Great value. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Will be back hopefully quite soon!

Very nice restaurant, staff very attentive. Food was nice plenty of choice on Gluten free menu but didn’t feel great after eating here this is the second time I’ve been and both times felt poorly is this down to cross contamination?

Visited for dinner on a Monday night in January. Service was a bit slow to begin with but the food was absolutely outstanding. The short rib was delicious.

My husband and I bobbed in on Sunday for a late brunch after our usual place was full. We ordered Eggs Benedict, Avocado on toast, and two lattes. Every single one of our poached eggs was pretty much hard boiled and both meals were tepid. My Eggs Benedict looked like it had packet ham cut up on top and was absolutely swimming in hollandaise . My latte was more like coffee flavored milk and I didn't bother to drink it.

Came here for a Sunday dinner with my partner, honestly the nicest meal out I’ve had a while and the service from Andrew was amazing! Will definitely be back

First visit since the significant refurbishment of a well appointed restaurant. Very tasteful decor and the whole experience comes together well. The food is excellent with a variety of choices and styles.

Its hard to find a good roast dinner out on a Sunday, its never like your mum makes... but Albert's was pretty darn good. We had the veggie roast which was cheese and onion pie with all the trimmings which was unreal. It wasn't cheap but I would highly recommend this place.

It was a Monday evening (30th December) and the place was just about full. Not sure many restaurants can say that a few days after Xmas!

Champagne Friday with Laurent Perrier brut at half price is brilliant! Cloudy (NOT Cloud) Bay NZ sauvignon blanc superb. Bar food nowhere near what it was in terms of quality; floor management non-existent. That said, the (Polish?) bar-man a real pro and wasted on this place as it is current run.

Had a really nice meal here, couldn't complain about the food at all, but the service was a little lacking. It was really difficult getting someone's attention to order another drink, and then a dessert.

Can’t fault the service from an Australian sounding guy very nice and good attitude.

Often, TA gets it right (the ask the audience principle). It works better abroad as most UK restaurants of this type are mediocre and this one is no exception.

Took the family to Alberts for our annual Christmas Eve meal

Large group of us, the Saturday before Christmas, being honest it is more about the company and expectations of the food and service aren't high. I was waiting for the sound of the microwave pinging in the back.

Great staff.Fabulous food.Nice cocktails. Lovely atmosphere.Cosy heated outdoor area. what more could you need. Highly recommended.

Had a most enjoyable lunch here today. Served by Daniella. She looked after us superbly and made my friend's birthday extra special. Looking forward to returning soon.

We did choose the Alberts this year for our Christmas dinner 13 of us , busy place mainly clientele ladies I found this place food 8/10 service 9/10 atmosphere 9/10 all in general good considering Xmas meals they are normally bad overall

We came here for Sunday lunch last week and as usual, can’t praise the place highly enough. We had the Christmas dinner and it was excellent, with turkey and all trimmings (very ample portions).The place was lively, packed and exuded a party atmosphere from every table. We were lucky enough to get a booth, and our excellent waiter Andrew was right on the ball and made sure we wanted for nothing. Will be back soon for sure.

We were asked for a service charge even before we even went there. The food was lukewarm and not worth the money. The staff were nice.When the DJ arrived we ask for different songs but she couldn’t get them on her computer
