Not great chowder was cheap and nasty wouldn't be surprised if it was the packet of mixed smoked fish out of Tesco the value kind .the fish wasent much better batter was dripping oil so ended up leaving it at side of plate once that was done fish was kind of edible.2 starters and 2 mains with 2 soft juices cost £53.60 way over priced for what it was but I suppose they need to cover electric costs won't eat there again

Convenient and central but too expensive for this type of rooms and establishment.

Everything was AMAZING! Being Catholic means no flesh meat on a Friday (lard & shortening fine though) and I’m highly sensitive to seed oils aka vegetable oils. I take my hunt for quality, traditional, cancer-free fish and chips VERY seriously and drove an extra 2.5 hours the week before for beef dripping fish and chips. So when I did my research and found out that they cooked in Tallow, I knew that the coming Friday’s dinner was taken care of! And boy, was i positively DELIGHTED to be in Orkney on a Friday while travelling for two months from Australia. Because I got to indulge in this goodness! Usually Fridays are a struggle as most places cook with toxic cancer vegetable oils and nothing beats a classic fish and chips for a Friday. This place was quick, offered great service and was DELICIOUS. I absolutely loved my meal and have saved it so that when I get back to Scotland, I can revisit.

The fish and the chips were so soggy with grease it was dripping from the cardboard. I did try both, the fish tastes over cooked and dry despite being incredibly greasy and the chips were just soggy, no firmness to them and they again tastes of oil. cheese chips were also inedible and greasy not to mention the cheese had all stuck to the top of the polystyrene box and had not adhered to the chips at all because they were greasy. I only ate the white pudding and sausage we got. They were both greasier than I would have liked but edible. I understand some of the things wrong with this order could have been that we got delivery however there's no excuse for the grease. We as a family used to order from harbour fry regularly years ago because they were genuinely the most fresh, crispy, well cooked chippy in Kirkwall however, in the last few years it's only on a once a year/every few years occasion we will get from here because every single time it's the same experience most pointedly with the greasiness and soggy food. I will say if you dine in the quality tends to be better but still not great for us. We will not be returning unless there is a change in the cooking.
