Alba Scottish Steakhouse in Belfast

Badly organised if you can’t even access a website or menu. I tried calling but only got an answer phone

Booked here a few weeks ago through res diary, on arrival the doors were locked, mail all over the floor (sign of being closed for a while). No response on the phone, no mention of closing on their website. no explanation whatsoever.

One waiter for whole restaurant no joking who runs this place no tamahawks in a steak house and it was very busy don’t no how he go through the night the waiter

Terrible service one very rude waiter, asked twice did we have a reservation before being taken to our table not to receive a menu for another 15 minutes. They didn’t have the steak we wanted which is very disappointing for a “steakhouse” . Food arrived, with the wrong sauces, steak was tasteless and cold. Very disappointing, will not be back.

We went here for a family celebration influenced by the fact they offered Tomahawk steaks which we felt would be a good experience. At the start everything semed to be going well. We asked for a table beside the window which they gave us and we settled down for the evening. We chose the savigon Blanc from the menu only to be told it was out of stock so opted for a Rioja instead. Placed order for a tomahawk the Hake Kiev and a ribeye. After about 15 mins waiter came down to tell us there were no Tomahawks left and suggested we had the ribeye which we did. Our starters arrived and I had ordered the Culen Skink which was a very small portion given the size of the bowl it was served in. Eventually our mains arrived but again problem was only the steaks arrived and my wife was left sitting with no food. it was at least another 15 minutes before her food arrived which the waiter apologised for and said it would be on the house. Our steaks were average at best very fatty which one would not normally associate with rib eye steak. My wifes Hake Kiev was another matter. It did not smell right and when tasted it had a metallic taste. She refused to eat it as she was convinced that it was off. When we tried to order a second bottle of the rioja there were no cold ones available and we were offered a opened bottle with some wine taken out of it for 50% off. In a last ditch attempot to save the evening we asked for a dessert menu only to be told nearly all the items we liked were off and we really only had the choice of Ice cream and a custurd based dessert. We cut our losses and asked for the bill. Staff were very apologetic explaining some of their team hwere missing as they were sick but that did not make up for the lacklustre food that was served. As we left we were handed twoo cards to give us 20% off on our next visit but based on the standard that we witnessed this evening we will not be back. Dinnae go if your looking good food.

Booked table for 8pm, we were seated promptly after 3 people asked us had we a reservation, seated in a corner away from main restaurant, drinks order taken and came back wrong, no mint for mojitos in addition to the soft drinks having to be repeatedly asked for. First starter served 1 hr after seated, and that wasn’t even for our table, the rest of the starters were at least another 15 mins by which time our guest had finished theirs. Waiter was abrupt and matter of fact. Steaks on menu are written with serving suggestion , I ordered a medium rare as suggested it came out med well or well Food was ok but needs looking at if your going to order off menu that’s what you need to be served and in a reasonable timeframe. Sadly we won’t return again , not an enjoyable experience

Perfectly located within a short walk from the city centre. The food was AMAZING (we ended up eating there twice as it was so lovely!). The staff and service were top notch and they created a beautiful memory of our time in Belfast. Can’t recommend highly enough

I meet Jay down the gym and he mentioned he worked there at the front of house, hadn't been out for steak in while so we went down... It was fantastic really really good, she had the hake and loved it, I had the Cote de Boeul ribeye it was epic... Can't wait to go back it has a great menu... Fantastic meal. Having done a google search for best steak in Belfast we opted for Alba Scottish steakhouse. Glad we did. Greeted by the very pleasant JJ a fellow Scot we were made most welcome. Starters of Cullen skink and haggis trio were followed by sirloin with pepper sauce and cote de bouef with red wine and bone marrow jus. Can’t fault either. Will definitely make a point of visiting next time we visit Belfast.

Beautiful food’ great customer service’ great touch was going to the toilet and listening to Kevin bridges comedian playing through speaker :-) will definitely return. Food was beautiful and steaks cooked to perfection.

Food was all very delicious, excellent burger. However the roast potatoes and chips were very salty, maybe the chef should cut back on his seasoning or just allow the customer to add if required. The pepper sauce was more like jus, not creamy. Overall all lovely place, very efficient and pleasant staff and I look forward to returning,

Alba Scottish Steakhouse was a spur of the moment decision that did not disappoint! JJ, floor boss, was attentive, helpful, and absolutely darling. The chefs made the most delicious Glasgow burger. The wine list is extensive, the Scotch whisky is good and well varied. Makes us hope for a visit to Scotland soon!
