Warm friendly welcome with a smile into a comfortable relaxed atmosphere. Tables are well spaced out to allow for enough privacy. The decor is modern, clean and uncluttered with warm adequate lighting. The kitchen is in sight from the restaurant seating where you can see the chefs happy at their work. A very relaxed unrushed feel to ordering. The staff are very knowledgeable and take a personal approach to the service. Just the right time between courses and the portions are enough that you'll feel like you've actually had a feed! The food is delicious and you'll definitely end up tasting everyone else's dinner! The toilets available are very clean and homely. I cannot fault my visit whatsoever. We will definitely continue to return to Tedfords Kitchen time and time again.

Wow! Highly recommend, I have a lot of dietary requirements and they could not have been more accommodating! I’m happy not to eat out because of them but the waitress insisted that they could knock me something up! It was the most amazing meal and my friends were jealous with their off the menu meal! I so appreciated it and you will never know how nice it was to be able to eat with my friends and feel ‘normal’ love this place!

Went as part of a large group of people. It’s a bit of an odd location - I had eaten in the previous locations but it’s a bit desolate out there at the waterfront hall. Alexanderplatz without the charm. People found it hard to find the entrance. Service was good and the interior not bad. The cuisine suited the meat and the fish lovers (incidentally, if you are a vegetarian sensitive to fish aroma, might want to skip.) Menu very limited for vegetarians. I was basically given a ‘that’s all there is/ take it or leave it’, which wasn’t a great experience. It had been on own or with family I would have just left it. Literally. The food was edible ok. For my food would have given a generous 2 star, but as most of the party seemed ok, I have relented with a 3 star review.

Went for anniversary meal. It was early so not busy. Staff were very pleasant and friendly. Starters: 1. Scallops with black pudding 2. Korean bbq pork spring rolls. Main course 1. Curried Monkfish 2. Turbot with prawns. Food was excellent, decent portions, and piping hot. Only downside was no air-conditioning and the weather was exceptionally hot.

Visited with 5 friends on a Saturday night to celebrate my birthday. Had fond memories of the “Old” Tedfords that used to be located across the road. Our evening lived up to my expectations. Very friendly staff from start to finish and the nice open spacious restaurant creates a lovely atmosphere. Too many restaurants in Belfast pack you in and you feel like you are sitting at a table so close to others you could eat off their plate!!! The menu selection was a little smaller than expected with about 6 starters and 6 mains. It suited our group but some may prefer more choice. The scallop starter was a real hit with our table. My monkfish main smelt and tasted gorgeous and everyone else was really happy with their meal. Definitely recommend visiting

Everything was cooked very well, beautifully presented and had lots of flavour. Very enjoyable food and the red wine was also very good. Efficient service. From the minute we sat down at the table it felt rushed. We had to order a drink asap hardly had our coats off. Food order was managed well and wine order. Minimal checks on whether everything was ok. No opportunity to order more drinks or pudding or coffee. Really felt we were hoped to leave asap. We won't come back, the food was not good enough to overcome the lack of service. Everything including the cooking felt rushed. Its a shame as it seems like there is genuine talent in the kitchen and in the service but they are being pushed to provide speed not quality.

Todavía me siento hambriento.

Pasé por este restaurante varias veces y nunca lo visité, ya que Belfast tiene un mercado bastante concurrido para salir a cenar. ¡Ahora lamento no haber ido antes! ¡No puedo esperar a volver!

Booked a table for 6pm before attending a show at the Waterfront.Staff were all very helpful and we ate of the pre theatre menu, which was the only choice. Saying that it was a 3 course meal for £24 each. All our choices were very nice and we enjoyed the place, there was a good crowd in and it was a nice atmosphere.Only criticism I would have was the supplements on some items, like £5 on squid starter and £12 on a sirloin steak was too much. Comida fabulosa. Porciones pequeñas que en realidad es agradable y lleno de sabor. Si tienes hambre puedes agregar lados opcionales. Went to Tedford's as I had been given a voucher for my birthday and what an experience it was. We had the pre theatre menu which was £24 a head. It was the most delicious meal I've had in ages. We had pumpkin soup and venison sausage for starters. The soup was served with flat bread and was perfect. The soup was flavoutsome and had just the right amount of chilli. Warming, but not overpowering. My partners venison sausage was absolutely delicious. We both had chicken breat with mushroom arancini. It was cooked to perfection and was certainly of fine dining standard. Dessert was sticky toffee pudding and Pavlova. Both were exceptional. The staff were also exceptional. They were able to strike a balance between being super efficient and professional, but at the same time were warm, attentive and friendly. I had never really thought of going to Tedford's Kitchen before but as I had been given a present of a voucher I thought I'd give it a try. I have eaten here quite a few times and generally it is lovely. My last visit wasn't great unfortunately. I ordered the special for my lunch- the spicy pork burger. I ended up leaving the meat and eating the bap and chips. It was extremely salty, not cooked properly and grisly. It left me feeling quite queasy for a while after. When I went to pay, the person in front was having issues paying their bill, this was ok, except when it was finally sorted the person taking the payment left me standing while she took someone's food order. In all, I was waiting nearly 10 mins to pay my bill, which is not really acceptable when you are racing to get back to work. When asked was my food ok I informed the waitress of what I've just said here and she just said, 'I'm sorry you didn't like it'. It was extremely poor service and poor quality of food.

We were celebrating our son's graduation from UU at the Waterfront and had Tedford's recommended by a friend. We are a family of 7 and had celebrated another graduation the day before at Queen's, having dinner at Scalini's. Anyway I had a confirmation call from Tedford's the day before and we arrived at 2,30pm for their graduation menu. It was extremely busy, extremely noisy and felt very rushed. They could have done without the music playing as the din from the diners was enough. The staff in general were polite however it was obvious from body language that they were run off their feet and there wasn't much time for pleasanteries. Drinks order came in two phases and only after a long wait. Other tables were seated after us and received water long before us....something I never understand. We were all disappointed with the menu which had a limited choice and unfortunately even more disappointed with the wildly varying quality of the dishes, even though 4 of us had the same mains. Two of us chose the strawberry cheescake for dessert and one of them had obviously been sitting out, not very nice. I couldn't pass on feedback on leaving as the person on reception was on the phone. Wouldn't rush back.

With the last name of Tedford, we had to try this place while visiting Belfast! After a long day of touring the Causeway Coast, we were just wanting to order a light dinner. Our taxi driver dropped us off at their former location not knowing they had moved. Luckily, there were a couple of local Guardia walking past when we were looking at our phones trying to figure out how to get to the new location. They steered us in the right direction which ended up being only a couple of blocks to walk. The host seated us and took our drink orders before we ordered a variety of appetizers. They were all absolutely delicious and the best food we had our entire 10 day trip to Ireland. I wish we had not been leaving Belfast the next day so we could go back and eat a full dinner here. Their menu was interesting and if their entrees were anything like their appetizers and dessert, I know we would have loved it!

Was a cold wet windy Jan evening, Taxi can't drop to door so arrived cold wet and windswept. Inside Tedfords kitchen wasn't the warmest either so my wife had to keep her coat on so not great start. Then food and wine was bit overpriced for the quality. Was busy with early bird menu which we just missed. Scallops starter was fine although £11.50 for 2 medium sized scallops with small beef spring rolls, would have happier with more scallops and no beef. Mains were ok for cod, just plain and fairly bland and so so for monkfish curry at £22 which was small portion and mix of salty soya side sauce then another too sweet side sauce. Bought one of the cheaper wines which was still around £22 and didn't finish as not great either.

Our waiter said "Did your dessert not come?" which surprised us because he took our order and brought us dessert spoons, etc. I am not sure who else he thought would bring it to us, as he was our only waiter! The staff here are friendly and knowledgeable and special thanks to Tom for being so attentive to us four ladies of a certain age! We will definitely return.

Tedfords Kitchen can be distilled down into three words: tasty ... flavourful ... non-pretentious. Some of the dishes in this restaurant are the tastiest I’ve had in Belfast. The standout highlight is obviously their signature curried monkfish. To visit this restaurant and not have the curried monkfish is just plain insanity.

Dined here on 19/12/18 when we had a booking at the Waterfront Hall, at the recommendation of the nearby "Holohan's Barge" (who were fully booked). Food very good; service very good but because the room was very full the talk noise level was understandably high. I understand the need to add atmosphere in a quiet restaurant but all it did in a very full restaurant was add to a din. Two old men beside us could hardly hear each other speak. Great location for Waterfront Hall events!

Had a fabulous meal in tedfords kitchen last night. There six of us with 3 kids in the group and each of us were so well catered for. From we arrived the staff were attentive and helpful- have to give a special mention to Ethan who was so professional. The order was taken quickly and nothing was any trouble for the kids. When the food came it was outstanding in presentation and taste- from the lovely warm sour dough bread to the sea food chowder and the delicious Christmas dinner it was fab. Portion sizes were very generous and the price wasn’t bad either. The cod was cooked to perfection. Will definitely be back in this gem of a restaurant

Half empty on a Saturday night? What’s going on in Tedfords? Meant the atmosphere was stilted and frankly the place was a bit cold - one of my friends had to keep her jacket on appeared to be drafty round our table adjacent to the window so definitely premises / layout issues. Aside from that the food was really good - scallops were a great starter, monkfish as tasty as ever and service good too - just need to sort the premises out or have ability to close the redundant area off if not busy. Shame but ambiance and atmosphere is important. Perhaps there is too much restaurant competition on a Saturday night?

A group of us ate here last week before seeing Sarah Millican in The Waterfront. Our table was booked for 5.30pm and even at that early hour the restaurant was fairly busy. The staff were friendly and welcoming, providing drinks menus immediately although we had to ask for the food menu.

We were a large group that had booked a table but arrived early. However, the restaurant took this in their stride and we were all served a drink at the bar and then swiftly seated. Service was extremely efficient and the starters and then the mains all arrived together - you may be wondering why I mention this as it is what you would expect from a restaurant, but with a big group you'd be surprised how infrequently this happens. Overall the food was good, but the soup starter was so salty that I left most of it, which was a real shame because I could tell that it would have been excellent. The artisan bread it was served with was delicious however. I had lamb for my main course which was very underdone, not pink as I had requested, but one of my dining companions likes it like that, so we managed to swap a number of the slices with each other so that we each ate the lamb as we like it cooked - and it was delicious. The restaurant looks new, and it was pretty busy for a Wednesday evening so there was a good atmosphere. I would be keen to try it again, but I would ask the chef to go easy on the salt!

My wife and I enjoyed our first time here so much we immediately booked to come back just two nights later and we were not disappointed. The food is just fabulous. We had their signature monkfish curry and just couldn’t stop raving about it’s incredible balance of flavours. The cod special was just as good and the sea bass also top notch. The chicken wings and blue cheese dip starter was spicy perfection. The sticky toffee pudding was what every sticky toffee pudding should be. The pineapple sling and mai tai cocktails were also awesome. You get what you pay for and the food here is worth every penny.

On a three night weekend stay in Belfast, we enjoyed our first evening meal here so much we booked in straightaway for our last night. On the first night I had the monkfish curry, their signature dish, which was *A-mazing*! A sort of deconstructed curry dish where each element is distinct in each bite, the sweet peppers, the coconut rice, the curry oil, the crispy seared monkfish. Delicious with every bite. Also highly recommend their Pineapple Sling cocktail.

The reputation of tedfords in Belfast is synonymous with quality food and service. Our experience at tedfords kitchen fell way short of this , despite an expensive bill. The starters were good, however main courses were average. Steaks, at £27 , a pop were tough and lacked flavour. Overall the service was disorganised with 3 orders of drinks and wine either not correct or they didn’t arrive at all. 2 requests to order taxis were not done and we ended up flagging a taxi from the street, after I parted with £225 for 4 people plus a tip. Won’t be back

This is a disappointing restaurant. The Tedfords of the past offered some fine dining. Tedfords Kitchen does not. The menu was standard fare. It certainly does not offer fine dining. Some staff were well informed and hard working, others were poor. Service was generally slow. The food was average and the price was at that level. Tedfords Kitchen advertises itself on the web as a Bar & Restaurant. The ambient and general feel of the place is rather more like a bar. It is grubby and not somewhere for good quality dining. We certainly will not consider dining here again. This relatively recently developed area of Belfast deserves better.

Went here for a birthday meal on a visit to Belfast with my wife and 4 other friends. Absolutely amazing meal matched by the incredible service. 2 things benchmark a great restaurant for me. 1. What’s the G&T; like? It’s amazing - I had an Irish fun and it came with the correct Tonic and dressing (I checked!) and 2. Do they serve the food ordered to the correct person? Yes they do. The service on our visit really was exceptional and every course was amazingly fresh, well cooked and presented. I had the scallops for starters (unusually decent portion), duck for main (superb) and the cheesecake for pudding which really was a delight! Also had a bit of cheese which was v tasty!! I’d definitely come back here if I was in Belfast again. Great city, awesome restaurant, well done!!

Ate here before a show at the Waterfront, staff are excellent, nice greeting at door, our waiter, a young guy, was literally running from table to table, very attentive, definitely above average customer service. Portion sizes are generous and food good but a bit over priced. My daughter had wings - very spicy and huge portion and salmon - very nice. I had caesar salad and gnocci - all very tasty, we shared the desert - sticky toffee pudding. Nice evening but would choose Holohans over this place for pre-theatre Waterfront as similar prices but food just not as good here.

Incredibly disappointed. Went with 3 friends for the 3 course £45 christmas dinner. Soup was disgusting, cheaply produced, curry tasted strange and had no accompanying bread (even though the waiter promised they would bring some). Christmas main course was too small and we had to order extra sides. Coke zeros ordered were flat and probably out of a 2 litre bottle. They were sent back. Service seemed rushed and staff were generally inattentive. Poor value for what you pay then there's the 10% discretionary service charge added to the bill at the end. Disappointing and won't be back.

Party of 3 was there for pre theatre meal. I ordered the burger and chips and asked to have only onions on it. The server said there was no onions and the chef didn't like change. I asked would he ask him first before I got another option. He came back and said he said he will give you raw onions and THAT'S IT. How rude was this, there was other diners getting onion rings so shouldn't have been a problem. On way out giving a tip we said to the server maybe give it to the chef and he can buy a bag of onions.!! There is no need to be so RUDE. Very disappointed.
