it's the best burger place I've been in my life, yeah it is more expensive than your average burger king whopper but it's worth every penny

Bunsen on Hill Street in Belfast is an absolute gem for burger lovers! Their burgers are top-notch—juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. I had one recently, and it was hands down one of the best I’ve ever had. The quality of the ingredients really shines through, and you can truly appreciate the taste when enjoying just the burger on its own. The staff were also incredibly polite and welcoming, which made the experience even better. If you're in Belfast and craving a proper burger, Bunsen is definitely the place to go!

A stylish hamburger specialty store located in Ireland and Northern Ireland. When first-time visitors look at the restaurant from the outside, it may be difficult to tell that it is a hamburger restaurant. The menu is extremely simple. A hamburger, a double hamburger, a cheeseburger, a double cheeseburger, and three types of fries. However, you can choose the doneness of your burger patty. My recommendation is medium. The meat juices will overflow. Also, you can choose the toppings you want to put inside your hamburger. Recommended when you want to eat a lot of meat♪ I tried hand-cut potatoes and sweet potatoes, but the sweet potatoes were slightly sweet. Personally, I think it goes well with hand-cut meat if you're eating it with a hamburger. The location is in a lively area with many pubs and bars, near St. Anne's Cathedral.

A cut above usual fast food. It's a very small menu, but it's fresh and tasty. You won't wait long for excellent value produce. Staff could not be better: polite, friendly and swift. There's no vegetarian burger option, though. That would be great. Good location and family friendly.

Only used for a takeaway but I know this place is highly recommended and very popular. Simple menu done brilliantly. Ordered a plain burger and fries. Only complaint would be that the potion of fries was almost ridiculously large! Definitely a sharing portion. Was still decent value but I hated the waste (staying in a hotel one night only so couldn’t repurpose). Staff were helpful and I was offered a comfortable seat while I waited. Service was quick. Would return. Definitely a local favourite. Great mix of people eating in.

Bunsen Burger is by far one of the best burger joints I've ever had the pleasure of trying. The menu is short and snappy with limited options, admittedly, but who goes to a Burger place for anything other than a burger. The business card it's placed on is a nice touch. The burger was delectable, and clearly made with high quality beef, with the option of selecting how you'd like it cooked. The restaurant is nice, with a mixture of a fast food feel, but also a place you could sit and enjoy a meal too. Simple but effective. A solid 9/10 overall.

Lovely service and food, very fast. Went there after lunch rush. Music a bit loud but that might just be a matter of preference.

Every restaurant should have a menu that fits on a business card. An indecisive person's dream. Also, probably the best burger I've ever had. This is my new favourite restaurant!

Was surprised at the massive menu… joking, loved it 👌🏽 Had a cheese burger (medium well done) with sweet potato fries. My partner had a gluten cheese burger (medium done) and shoestring fries (skinny fries) The best option was she is Gluten intolerant, so we were happy we found the gluten free bun on the option for her, so I would recommend here, and would definitely come back

Would not be the first place I'd think of visiting, but went with friends for my birthday and was pleasantly surprised! Food was amazing, portions huge and service brilliant. Even got to request how the burger was cooked (never thought of it before) and the result was a burger that was so easy to eat and digest. My friends and I were rambling on and didn't realise the place had closed, but staff left us to it and didn't chuck us out straight away. Great place as part of a night out, you will not leave hungry or disappointed. And the burgers look like burgers, not monstrosities as in some restaurants.

Walked in for a burger and was very impressed. I ordered the double cheeseburger and it's safe to say it's the best burger I've ever had!

Called in with family last month and was not disappointed... The burgers were excellent. Absolutely no complaints and they were very succulent. Will definitely be back.

Love it, been many times and it's always been superb.

Food was good but the gentleman serving me was a miserable soul. I even said thanks and goodbye and he said nothing. Either staff training needs implemented or maybe another field of work for this life and soul.

Arrived without reservation, put on the list and 10 minutes later a text message announcing the table is ready. Single or double burger or cheeseburger. Large, thin or sweet potato fries… that’s the menu. It's very good, the service is efficient and fast. It's full and it's never empty. A good address for a reasonable price.

Seems very popular, we had to book and then come back. Burgers quite good without being incredible either. But very reasonable prices so practical in the pub area.

Called in after sampling a fair few local hostelries! It’s a similar concept to Five Guys but we could it comparable and probably a little cheaper. The staff were lovely and helpful , especially a young lady who appeared to be the manager.

It's just amazing! Lovely staff, atmosphere, and simply great food. You won't find better. Anywhere! I should add that I have no connection whatsoever with this business, but I must give credit where it's due.

Best burger I've ever had by far, and everything else was top notch too - the interior design is fantastic

I found the place while walking around the area. The service of the two waitresses was great from the moment I entered the door, very friendly and very professional, they treated me very well and explained to me how the menu worked and what options there were to eat. I found the burger to be of very good quality, the bread and the meat. I will definitely return when I return to Belfast!

Had a double cheeseburger and skinny chips. The chips were nice and crispy. It was a big portion too. The burger patties were thick — freshly ground beef. Would definitely come again!

The driest burger I've ever had in my life. I've eaten well done meat my whole life and 9 times out of 10 it's tender and juicy. Burger here was far too solid and bland to boot. The menu is a red flag in of itself. Expensive and incredibly basic, the idea is that the burgers themselves are so good that you don't need salads, decent non plastic cheeses, or any interesting sauces or relishes....unfortunately that is not the case. We all know that squashing ground beef into a circle and sticking it on a pan is not culinary brain surgery, so let's stop pretending that it is. This place had the potential to be the Sawers of burgers, but just falls flat. There are other burger establishments in Belfast that I won't mention for fear of sounding like a rival, but they offer unique meats, flavour combinations, nicely dressed chips, and freshly made drinks all in the one place for the same price. Unless you like your flavours very basic, give it a miss.

Even snel een hapje eten voordat we verder gingen met onze kroegentocht. We gingen ‘even’ voor een burgertje. De kaart is klein ( letterlijk ) 2 soorten burgers en die kun je enkel of dubbel krijgen en 3 soorten friet. Ik moet je zeggen ze waren fantastisch, prima te eten ( past in je hand ) en heel erg smaakvol! Voor de rest nog wat craftbeer op de kaart en bediening die aandacht aan je geeft, dikke hulde hoor..

Staff are terrible like terrible. Young girl on the phone comes from that generation that are dying to be offended. You forget 3 fries and when I called I had to do more work to get a refund. I spend £43 for burgers and chips and the chips didn't arrive. Either your as dump as you sound and forget to put 3x out of 6x items into a bag ..... yes half the order or there's a deliveroo driving nailing 3 x shoestring fries on the side of the road . Either way . ... im out of a few quid have two kids in a bad mood with me because there fries havnt came . You know why mental health is through the roof it's because of small situation like this . . Back in the day if you wanted chips your ma stuck the chip pan on ..... and now I'm up to high do with no chips and getting my head melted . Jesus christ the night . Sorry but just need to vent and pretend I was on the fone sorting it out wile they eat there burgers and now I have calmed down abit . Thank you ..but still 3 x chips missing .

Busy sat night, needing food after shopping, called in place packed lovely waiter takes your mobile and texts when table free, he says stay close by its looking like a half hour wait but I will text ASAP, true to his word 20mins text comes. I love this place menu on a little card, 3 choices of burger 3 choices of fries, wine, beer, soda, milkshakes. Cheese burger sand thick cut fries arrive I beer 1 wine in 5 mins. Gorgeous loose patty style burger with trimmings. Great crispy home fries. All condiments on table, it's my thing but bottles spotless. Plus your burger comes in paper on a tray. £16 a head. Great value. This is great for all the family. The staff are so friendly and attentive. You then step out full and into a bustling Lively Belfast Sat night.

Burger was pretty good, shame the bun imploded too much grease. Also got my order wrong asked for shoestring fries and was given french fries

Can't share any photos because I mauled the burger ,it was beautiful, fresh, juicy well seasoned ,crispy skin on fries , service was excellent no faults with the food or service, can't wait to go back .

When paying by card you're now greeted with service charges ranging from 10% to 25%. This is not America.

Food as good as ever but service extremely poor. Loitering at door waiting to be seated. Despite an almost empty restaurant, told there was a waiting list - after waiting, restaurant still under half filled. On return, still left loitering at door. Lacking from usual experience here.

Soggiest chips I have ever had at a bunsen. The chips were greasy and soggy as if they had been wrapped in moisture for an hour. Absolute ripoff.

Great for gluten free. Had a massive double cheese burger on a gluten free bun and fries. Bensen burgers is always clean and service is fast.

Really good burger and chips. Anyone who likes 5 Guys will love this place. The burgers and chips are similar but definitely better than 5 Guys. We went for the double burgers which were delicious but pretty messy to eat, if I went again I’d probably go single burger for that reason.

Ordered two burgers double cheese with bacon lettuce tomato and onion. Got home and both were smother in mayo as well so had to bin them as can't eat mayo. Won't be back very poor getting both burgers wrong and not cheap.

I don't really like hamburgers, but I visited this restaurant twice during my 6-day stay in Belfast, and I thought it was very delicious. At night at a popular restaurant, I waited about 5 minutes on weekdays and 30 minutes on weekends. The burger and fries will fill you up, and the price is reasonable. There are only two main dishes, a hamburger and a cheeseburger, and you can choose a double for each, and you can choose any toppings other than bacon for free. You can choose how well the patty is cooked, and the hand-cut potatoes are even more delicious.If you're going with two people, why not try the sweet potatoes? The staff is young but attentive, and they recommend Irish mayonnaise, so please try it. I also saw a store in Dublin, and it looks like they have opened in Belfast and Dublin.

This used to be good. Staff do their best but clearly overworked. Chips and shakes were nice but now burgers closer to a meatball sub than a burger, never again.

Absolutely love this spot. When you've just 2 things on your menu have to make sure it's quality. Best burger every had. Has ruined al other burgers for cause I know what the standard should be. Also great size portions!

100% recommended site. We found it by chance on our visit to Belfast. They only have hamburgers but they are very delicious, the service has been very fast and the service is also very good.

We went here twice in June, once with family and the second time with friends. We have been going here since it opened and it is consistently good (which is why there are wait times at busy periods). The little menu on a business card is such a smart idea, they keep things simple and the quality exceptional. Some good wines and ale options and the staff are always super friendly!

Recommended place to recharge your batteries and fill your belly. Place similar to the TGB burger chain in Barcelona. The service was very attentive, trying to speak in Spanish. The toilets were normal and are mixed.

Called into Bunsen, when I was in Belfast one day. I ordered the Double Hamburger with sweet potato fries. The service was quick, and everything was hot. The burger tasted great. It is one of the best burgers I have had, as far as flavour and taste goes. The sweet potato fries were very nice as well, with a crispy bite to them. I enjoyed the meal, and would recommend it.

The spectacular place, my first time in Belfast. We spent a day trying the food here, and we're back. It has become our favorite place to eat hamburgers. Recommended for real foodies. Clean place, the food comes to the table quickly, the service is really nice. Natalia also attended to us both days, and she is a charming and very attentive girl. A charming and very economical place. Excellent quality/price/service.

A great burger place. A very simple menu, lots of atmosphere. It was busy, so we had to wait around 20 min before we received a text telling us that our table was ready. When asked, they wrapped our burgers in lettuce leaves rather than having a bun. The service was friendly and efficient. A nice meal out.

Very nice experience in this Belfast burger restaurant. Simple menu, burger cooked very well and composable, with wine and beer but international. Sweet potatoes are very delicious. Friendly service with a smile. A good choice against the soon closing of Irish kitchens.

The best burger any of us have ever tasted! Great simple menu, you have a choice of a burger or a cheeseburger ( single or a double) with several toppings to add or remove. Plus 3 fries options. They obviously stick to what they do best! Every time we passed this place, afternoon or evening it was always packed with diners.

Ended up a happy circumstance, burgers were great, and you actually are able to get them cooked the way you want! I would recommend this place first.

Bunsen is right in the heart of the Cathedral Quarter and appears to do phenomenal trade. I don't think this is entirely location based but they do simple well. The menu is straight forward but the food is exceptionally good and satisfying. Atmosphere and staff are also exceptionally good. Any time I've popped in they are always really courteous and attentive. 👍🍔

Always a great burger but the service can be hit and miss and sometimes very overcrowded - elbow to elbow with strangers. A good spot when you need a quick bite though.

Great service, great burger. Apparently the locals' favourite is the plain cheese burger (which I totally understand given the quality of the patties), yet I opted for pickles and mustard which worked nicely :) fantastic skinny (shoestring) chips!
