Al Pomodoro in Cambridge

Fantastic place. Great service, great food, great value. We frequently go here before or after going to the cinema on the Leisure Park. Last night I had Zuppa Di Pesce. It was one of the best such 'bouillabaisse' type dishes I've ever had. Didn't resemble soup much, but it was a mountain of lovely fishy bits and pieces. And I wanted to eat'light'! I love this place. Just go!

What a find! Proper Sicilian food in a friendly, family run environment. Authentic Italian cooking is really hard to find in UK, but we found it here. We ate really well with delicious arancini and linguine alle scoglio. Lovely organic sicilian wine too. Worth the slight trek out of town. We were just visiting for the weekend, but would definitely return!

I was in Cambridge for a hospital appointment early Monday morning so we traveled down Sunday 11th Feb checked out a few restaurants around Cambridge, we both liked the reviews of Al Pomodoro booked for 19:30 Sunday night, got really busy after 20:00 which is a good sign especially for a rainy night. The restaurant itself very clean staff very helpful my wife asked for a small Lasange if it was possible no problem said the waiter called it a child portion , I ordered 4 Cheese Pizza very big cooked excellent. we enjoyed the restaurant that much we booked again for Tuesday night 13th very busy so i would advise that you book won't be dissapointed

Our waiters were absolutely lovely, and they gave us a night to remember for our 1 year anniversary! Federico in particular was fantastic, I could not recommend this place enough if you would like a beautiful night to remember!

As I entered into the restaurant, it was completely different from what I was expecting... Rather than a dimly lit romantic restaurant, it turned out to be a very family/kids friendly, brightly open spaced setting (kind of like a Pizza Hut environment, with all due respect). Oh well.. my bad for not looking into the details... Then, when I looked into the overly worn out laminated menu, they had some very highly priced wines (over ₤350)... I thought I'll go on the safe side with a medium priced wine... When the dishes were served, that's when the nice surprise came... All our dishes were so nice and well prepared, especially the pizza... it is just a wonderful twist to my misinterpretation to this restaurant... We had the fried calamari, prosciutto pizza & salad, lamb chops and seafood linguine .. ended up with a very happy meal!

The food is nice and the service is friendly however we were surprised and disappointed that the prices were different by 15-35% than advertised on their website menu and some of the menu choices on their website were not on their restaurant menu. This meant that we paid around a third more than we expected to and also we chose that restaurant for something we saw on the menu but couldn’t have once we got there so like tourists do ended up staying there and eating something we probably wouldn’t have chosen. Kind of felt a little upset because we may not have chosen to eat there if the website was correct in terms of menu choices and prices. We did ask them about price and menu item differences and they said they had updated their menu and prices and in December but something may have gone wrong when updating the website. Hmm now it is mid February and they haven’t noticed the mistakes in 6 weeks or other customers haven’t pointed it out ? Thought that was quite odd. There is a 10% service charge on the bill not sure if that is mentioned on the menu. Some reviews mention tha portions are large. Wouldn’t necessarily say so there is enough but not large

Absolutely lovely staff, quick service, and most importantly great food. Can wholeheartedly recommend for anyone stopping by in Cambridge for dinner, authentic Italian dishes and desserts totally sold the place, came back twice during my stay in town, excellent both times. Thoroughly recommended.

We experienced an exquisite Italian dinner in the UK. The pizza was not only delicious but also authentically Italian. The food served here is one of the best Italian food you can eat at Cambridge. I'm giving 3 stars as my mate is non-white and the waiter did not speak to him at all. This racist attitude must stop at this restaurant. Until it fixes this problem, I will not go there again
