I’ve been a regular at Al Cafe for the past three/four weeks, usually coming in 4-5 days a week. The food is consistently good and reasonably priced, which is why I kept returning. However, my most recent experience has made me reconsider. Last week, I tried to convince a friend to give this place a try, but he declined, citing strange customer service from a previous visit. I defended the place, admitting that while the service can be a bit off, the food makes up for it. Unfortunately, I now see his point more clearly. A week after that conversation, I phone-ordered a chicken salad, as I usually do. The person on the phone asked if I wanted it as a meal with fries and a drink, which I found odd for a salad, but I went along with it. The person taking the order had a very strong accent, making it hard to understand him, especially over the phone. When I arrived to pick up my order, I was given a box, paid, and left. To my surprise, when I opened it in my car, it was a chicken burger, not the salad I ordered. I went back inside, smiling, to explain the mix-up, and instead of a simple acknowledgment or an offer to correct the mistake, the cashier started arguing with me, insisting he had repeated the order back to me correctly. I explained that I had difficulty understanding him, but he only became more agitated. At that point, I decided it wasn't worth the hassle, told him to keep the money, and walked out. This experience has unfortunately left a sour taste in my mouth. Despite the nice food and reasonable prices, the poor customer service has overshadowed everything else. Regrettably, I won’t be returning. The staff could really benefit from some proper customer service training to prevent this from happening to others.

The food was majestic out here and the service provided was really nice. There is not enough space for a group to sit.Recommend -2 to 3 people group.

For a small cafe on the outskirts of the gay village, this was a nice gem to find. The food we had was well cooked, and well seasoned. It was a bit difficult to find this cafe i will say. In addition, the atmosphere was a bit quiet for a cafe and one of the staff was singing (no problem with them singing). However, i wish there was a bit of music. Overall, i was satisfied with the meal and service and will probably go again in the future, if I am around the area.

Got no notification food was on the way and the food come freezing cold the breakfast was cold the pasta was cold and the pizza baugettte for ice cold

I had breakfast in alcafe today that was outstanding. I’m very pleased with the food and the staff members.

Placed an order at 12pm food got delivered at 1pm only to deliver the wrong order. It is now 3pm and I am still waiting for my order.

Great food but they need to clean their café

Had AI special wrap, and my friends had rice + chicken and smash burger. The taste and the portion are great! Very good value for money. The service was also superb! And it's all halal, in case anyone wondering.

Absolutely hands down brilliant service, the brothers couldn't do enough for my children. Visited twice over 3 days for breakfast and evening takeout. Decent prices and defo tasty food

I visited with my autistic nephew, my work friend and her son. The service was impeccable, even to helping my nephew cut his food and eat it. I’m blown away. The food is great, the gentleman serving even let the kids behind the counter to see what they wanted on the screen. Would absolutely take him back here. You guys are amazing, thank you so much!

Very nice cafe. Was small but really big variety. I tried chicken sandwich n it was really good. Milkshakes are good. And loaded fries was huge. Really happy.close to lower essex street. I think all of our office is gonna turn up there now 01 feb. 22. Went again and food was again top class and reasonably priced. The only drawback is atmosphere as all.the young youth and road men come there. Not a family friednly place . Howevere. Take away would b good. Try their Alcafe special wrap and loaded fries

The “steak “ on the loaded fries wasn’t steak it was mince and the sauce was total overkill wouldn’t order again very disappointed . And the cheese on the baguette pizza was just faaaar tooo much and all yucky & The sweetcorn was all dry like it was frozen sweetcorn … Can’t vouch for rest though of menu but personally wouldn’t ever order these 2 dishes again . 😕

Incredible food, we had some breakfast, and tried a beef burger as well. Everything was absolutely delicious! They gave a free waffle as well which was very nice.

I rang the restraint at 16 .44pm they said they gave the food to the delivery driver 10 minuets ago and they give the food out hot so it's not there problem if I get it cold I will just have to complain to just eat well I'm complaining I spent nearly 17 pound on a take away and the only thing I could eat out the meal was the tea and cake the hot food had gone tepped and start to conceal the driver turned up after 17.00 pm and I checked the food it was cold he smirked when I told him I'm making a complaint nether the driver or the restraint cared about the very poor quality of service I received I'm disabled and on benefits I can not afford to spend money on a service that does not deliver what they claim to this is the second time one of your delivery Drivers have delived late and the food has been poor I would like this situation rectified

I did not get my food at all, I made my cousin buy himself food with my paypal and when the order was allegedly outside Ive got a call from the driver so I told my cousin to go downstairs and get it but when he got down he was still waiting outside in the rain waiting for the order when I told him to leave it. I don’t what could have happened but all I know is that I want my money back. Thank you

Don't know the food was freezing cold then they put some road man on the phone who was in the shop and then hung up the food was freezing cold

I ordered 2 meals, 2 pizzas and a drink but the only half of the stuff I ordered didn’t atrive at the time I had to go out cause the delivery was even late so I forgot to leave my review but this was disgraceful because I had to share one meal and a pizza between 2 when i payed for 2. I would like my money back please

Ordered breakfast and a dessert. Everything came exactly as expected and the delivery came exactly at the estimated time. Will definitely be back again :)

Food came late but was fresh and warm and absolutely lovely the staff are really kind said food was on the way had some problems with the system, nice bunch always order from here you won’t be disappointed 😊

I enjoyed the breakfast, was still nice and warm and loved that coffee I ordered was still warm when it arrived, normally have a bad experience with drivers spilling it. Everything was nice, will order from here again. 😊👍

I also asked for Algerian sauce but I didn’t receive it. I asked for a Diet Coke and Pepsi and I received 2 pepsi and one packet of fries was missing and no Cheetos in the chicken burger I would like a refund please

I wasn’t impressed with the delivery at all the food came extremely cold and the box got wet and damaged. My chips got wet in the process and had was to be reheated in the oven. Ice cream for the cake melted completely. And the last time I ordered the food came on time and it was nice this time I did not enjoy the foot. Really dissatisfied.

Ordered through Uber eats, hastily left a bad review due to missed items. As soon I pressed sent, I received a call from a manager here apologising profusely for missing something out, and the inexperience of driver. The food ended up being delicious. Panini was spicy, and saucy. Piri chips were nice and warm and the teas were fab. Great food all in all. Didn’t expect the call back, so had to re-review here on Google for the politeness, customer care and food.

Food was cold on arrival. I had to call the restaurant 23 times to chase up where the food was and was told delivery driver is on the way. I placed an order at 12:40 and received my food at 3pm. Won't be ordering from here again.

We thought we’d try here just to get a little something for brunch but was really amazed by the selection, that we got more! The food was great - the chips sooo tasty and what really blew us away was the deserts! The sundaes and milkshakes are heavenly and we can easily see this as out go to little sundae place for treat days! Really awesome prices and quality, thank you!

i always come here with my roomates for waffles and the customer service is always good, and the waffles and sundaes are always amazingg!! Highly recommend this place for desserts :)

This is one of the best restaurants for burger in this city, they make delicious and tasty food, their menu is variable. The staff are nice and helpful and the prices here are logical. Generally I do recommend this place for everyone even for those who doesn't care about halal food.
