Food wasn’t good to be honest, salad had rotten tasting tomatoes. We’ve had an upset stomach since we got home.

Been going to akbars for years, amazing food as always and the service is so lovely we had a lovely waiter called Saleem, extremely polite and helpful and ensured we recieved everything just the way we wanted it. A really kind man. He deserves a raise!

Can I ask I ordered a lamb Rogan josh to be told that the meat Rogan josh is the same. Certainly didn't taste the same are they of the same curry?

Excellent services for last 15 years

I recently came here from Ireland was visiting family in the area , was with my parents and we ordered a few starters first just to see if nice food but be honest it wasn’t fresh the kebabs were made of Fat and were very hard, the prawns weren’t cooked properly , we had upset stomach after this place , its a a pity its beautiful restaurant inside and nice atmosphere but food needs to be much better

The food quality was very poor, every bite was hard to chew. It was a pitstop for us, we were highly unsatisfied. Would not recommend to anyone.

Had a fabulous time here- range of flavoursome courses, brilliant service, Kasem was particularly attentive, professional and courteous. Raja Salem looked after us most of the evening, very friendly, approachable and polite, good recommendations and service with a smile! Great prices and good portion sizes, would definitely come again!

I’ve been going to Akbars for over 15 years. It never disappoints on quality of food or service. Kasim is a credit to your company. Knowledgeable, client focussed and personable. He made our last trip to Akbars particularly enjoyable.

Food was great, customer service needs massive improvement's we had a waiter who was new didn’t really know what he was serving made errors with our order upon asking he stated his new and doesn’t know, then manager got involved stating the same they have new staff member and his not trained enough and they short staffed this is the reason his service as the problem didn’t get resolved.. no apologies. I’m a regular customer visits often with family but the customer service is going down. Your staff need more training

I visited Akbars on a friends recommendation. I was not disappointed, the food was amazing and the service was outstanding. Our waiter Zia, looked after us and went above & beyond. I would visit again when in Birmingham.

We took a 2-hour journey to try out the food at Akbar’s, and it was absolutely worth it! The service was warm and attentive, and the food did not disappoint. Every dish was full of flavor and beautifully presented. You can really tell they take pride in what they serve. A great dining experience overall — definitely worth the trip!

Basically, the food is not good, not worth the money. Very bland and overly greasy curries - even the waiter couldn't tell the difference between them. Overcooked mushy rice. Nothing seemed to be well-made or fresh.

Came here for our one year anniversary, couldn't have been happier especially with Zia being our waiter. From the beginning to the end, feeling like royalty with how we were looked after. Food was absolutely amazing, mouth watering, fresh. The mango lassi was also lovely. We will come back.

We just had our dinner in Akbar's and I would say that they serve the best curries I had so far. I would highly recommend their lamb curry and balti. It's worth trying liver tikka for starter as well cause its really good. Would be nice to come as a family cause they do have big serving. The staff are very helful and friendly as well. Special thanks to Zia who have been very accomodating.

We always enjoy the starters and lamb curry here, decent great food quality and little delay when it comes to dishes being served. Saleem Bhai along with the other staff always take care of us and provide quick and attentive customer service - incredibly grateful for this place as a top of the range curry house.

Absolutely brilliant. Akbar restaurant represents class and in Ramadhan period. We didn't book we came in and got a table and served by Asif and he said 20 mins food will come. It came exactly at the time. In such a busy period where everyone wants to open there fast. I got to meet the Manager and she is amazing person and running a great restaurant. A big thank you and I seen 3 birthdays today with 50 cent tune and firework candes.A great place for birthdays and family fun. A family venue and very welcoming. This place has gone down we went for iftari yesterday the waiter was so rushed we just sat down and he's standing over are head u ready to order we then told him if he can give us 5mins starters we're vile we orderd Chapli kebab and we're give chewy beef patties and the 2nd starter was cheesy kebab which was so soggy our main is usually our faiviroute it saag ghost it was horrible only the complimentary chutneys were very nice we had just opened our fast so didn't cause a fuss the new waiters need to learn to let the customer sit down not give them menu and stand on.top of the head for the order

Excellent food! Loved all of it. We ordered meat chops, samosa Chaat, Paya and Gulab Jamons. The best part of the service is Qasim, such a dedicated and hard working professional. I was observing how busy he was despite being in Ramadan and running table to table to ensure everyone is well taken care of. This lad deserves a raise and employee of the year award. Keep it up, Qasim!

The most amazing authentic food. Kaseem was really lovely, great service and suggested two curries for us that weve never heard of but thoroughly enjoyed. We're not from the area but Im sure we will return

Place was filthy and the food was substandard manager was argumentative when we complained we will never return standards have slipped over the years

I ordered a prawn biryani, the prawns were like bullets, over cooked and under seasoned. I asked if they could take it off this bill or at least halve the price of the biryani. The manager refused, no offer of cooking it again or swapping for something else. Waiter was a good guy but I guess his has hands were tied as the manager was a tight arse.

What a restaurant. Akbar’s serves authentic Indian cuisine full of flavour and with excellent service, especially from Kasem. Visiting Birmingham for a work conference, my colleague received a recommendation to come here and I’m so glad we did. Especially recommend the Karahi Chicken, Cheese Seekh Kebab and Mango Lassi. Ten out of ten.

We had a delightful meal here recently. It has a larger seating area rendering it less 'cosy' than smaller local Indian restaurants. Nonetheless, we would visit again. The portions of food were generous. N.B. The Nan breads are gi-normous. Top Tip; Take a container if you are more of a lighter eater. It would be a waste of good food otherwise . Enjoy.

I went to Akbars for Saturday night to celebrate my husbands birthday. Food was awesome..special thanks to Raj (Bhatia) who went above and beyond to make everything so special for us, overall very good atmosphere. Thank you Raj and Thank you Akbars , we will go bank again .

This was our first time back in 10 years as we've moved away. The food was outstanding, with very generous portion sizes. The waiters were attentive and very helpful. Lots of vegetarian and gluten free options. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We will be back soon. 100 % recommended.

Mr Saleem was in charge of servicing us, he was very attentive. Gave us a good service. I'd definitely return there to eat again, food was served fast and atmosphere was nice. I don't have pics of main meal but took pic of dessert and it was delicious.
