Akash Indian Takeaway in Sheffield

Ordered a takeaway. All arrived on time. The food was not good, watery and lacked depth of flavour. Nothing like what was described on the menu. Very disapointing

Had chicken madras, chicken rogan josh a keema nan and a couple of onion bhaji last night.. Really enjoyed them, the quality and taste were spot on.. Thank you for an enjoyable take away...

Service spot on and on time. Food was hot but all I could taste was the oil they'd used to cook it with so ruined it for me.

Never had the need the complain about food always been beaut tonight naan very doughy not cooked right and tikka started burnt and cold sorry guys

Onion bargies very small not much salad Tikka curry full of salt will order elsewhere in future terrible meal over £17

I've used this takeaway for a number of years always been great but the last few of meals have been very poor. Onion bhaji were small dry and didn't come with any salad or yoghurt. Tandoori chicken was also dry. Jalfraisy was watery not much flavour half of that went in the bin. However my son enjoyed his massala and nan. I'm thinking I will be taking my business elsewhere. Sorry akash you have been a good friend but its time to say goodbye.

Had a chicken Khari from here last night and it was superb, lots of chicken and cooked to perfection. I will be getting another curry from here tonight !

Ordered tonight for the first time, collected order and was ready on time and very hot. Chicken tikka Bhuna was very nice, good thick gravy although a touch salty and lots of chicken tikka, which was well cooked tasty and not dry. Rice was good, onion bhajis could have been crispier but nice flavour, I would definitely order again.

This was my first time ordering from Akash last night. Really tasty Chicken Tikka Bhuna with plenty of flavour. Will definitely order again from here.

Please beware- nasty restaurant food, serving awful meats, stale food, rubbish attitude, fake thier reviews and make personal remarks when you dislike whag you pay for. Having given 5 star reviews to takeaways with sheffield like indus, urban rasoi, akbars, spice rack, this has to be the worst for attitude and food. Go through their negative comments, you’ll find similiar complaints of food quality issues. Sorry not sorry for this review as its fair.

I had an Indian meal from here and it was awful.I had to throw it away.It was greasy and so salty.The curry sauce was watery and the onion bhaji had hardly any onion in it, all chick pea flour.I have eaten loads of Indian food over the years in different locations, but i can honestly say this is the worst Indian meal i have ever had.

Absolutely amazing! Outstanding food and brilliant customer service. The staff are friendly and extremely helpful, if you are unsure of what to order their knowledge of their menu helps you to decide, I have ordered many many times and each time they welcome me back as a friend and I have never been disappointed. The food is delicious and always delivered in good time by a friendly, polite and respectful person. Very reasonable prices too.

I eat from Akash regularly and have never had a complaint about the food it's always delicious staff are nice and friendly and good value for money would highly recommend.

Akash Woodhouse is the best curry house in sheffield, thats all im gunna say bcus it speaks 4 its self,yum yum 😋.

Regularly order from here and are never disappointed usually order the mixed tikka sandwich and bhajis , would highly recommend, fast efficient delivery as well

Really enjoyable meal. Just love the freshly cooked chicken and mixed tikka sandwiches. Had bhajis, meat samosas and mixed starter to start. Plenty to eat for 4 and well worth the money.

Just ordered food from here and all the food very watery and not much meat and the oddest nan breads in a pizza box which had paste spread on the top with no taste whatsoever would not recommend

Honestly the worst Indian takeaway I’ve had in my life. Turned up half an hour late, poppadoms and pickle trays missing from the order. After calling the restaurant to ask where the missing items were, they turned up an hour after the food had been delivered. No apology from either the restaurant or the delivery driver. The food itself was atrocious, the peshwari naan is literally a pizza base with some sort of spread on it - it even comes in a pizza box... The lamb Passanda was red and spicy for some reason, the Murgh Massalam looked like chicken soup with no flavour or spice with little or no ‘“spicy lamb” in it. I can safely say I will not be ordering from here again.

I've been to many places for a good curry but this one tops them all 👌 staff, delivery drivers very customer focused and polite 100% recommend

Four of us had a takeaway from Akash last night. WOW best takeaway in more than 3 years since Village Balti packed up. Onion Bhajis were amazing. Chicken Tikka Saag with plenty of flavoursome chicken and lots of spinach and sauce with fantastic pilau rice piping, hot and moist. Akash special curry was brilliant. Mixer Kebab main excellent, too much, even for the gannet that mate is. Came at the time we ordered it for presented in a nice box. Thank you Akash don't let the chef leave please. Keep that up and you've got us at least once a week. Thank you!

Now I understand why my friend kept recommending this takeaway. First of all, I made an order online. Order went through and confirmed. I then received a call from the owner to say that due to my location, they don’t normally order to my area but the system took the order. He informed me that on this occasion he will deliver my food - the owner himself delivered my food. He did not have to accept my order as I requested to pay by cash and he could have simply called to explain it was an error and that they won’t be able to deliver but he did. The owner went above and beyond. The food arrived in a reasonable time and very warm. The food I had (mixed grill mains) was the best mixed grill I’ve had. The food was full of flavour. The nan bread was so nice and fresh. The whole food is fresh. I will definitely be ordering a pick up from here again and look forward to being a regular customer. Thank you so much for a great service and wish you all the best with the business. You deserve more than 5 stars.

I ordered chefs special chicken Tika Balti with keema naan, the curry was nice and fresh, the staff where great couldn't ask for anything better so yeah thourougly enjoyed and will definetly be visiting again.

Horrendous. The first time we have used this place in years & I now realise why we stopped using it. The peshwari “naan bread” came on a pizza base with coconut puree & cut into sections like an actual pizza would. The chicken in the curry was cheap, processed meat & not real chicken. I spoke to the owner who didn’t see a problem with anything i’d said & feels it acceptable to send out what in my opinion is 2nd rate food. I’m just waiting a good case of dodgy gut to finish off my experience here!

Ordered from here quite a few times lately and not had a bad meal- good quality meat, dishes aren't overly greasy, naan breads are lovely will keep ordering 👍

I visited this takeaway while passing by. I am glad I did. There are very few places to find authentic Indian food, buy akash is sure on top. Mouth savory dishes and very friendly service. Very economical prices too. For someone looking for authentic Indian food, my recommendation is akash..

Was suprised to see a couple of bad reviews below so thought i'd say that we have been ordering from Akash for nearly 10 yrs now and found the food nothing short of exceptional. A fantastic selection of Curry's (try the lamb or chicken biryani) and the front of house staff are always polite and friendly.

We had to bad experience a bit ago and thought I'd give it another chance never again all in bin and McDonald's it is and that's saying something

This is my second time now of going here I had a bad experience last so I thought I would give it another go bad mistake came to paying he didn't tell me they was a card charge until after I payed so I waited all I could hear in the kitchen was ridiculous every word was swearing they should have put 18s only on the door the way they was going off never again crap crap crap

As someone who eats indian food often i ordered a meal for two from akash,very prompt and pleasant,the food however was awful.Two chicken jalfrazi which were more like korma,lemon rice which was clearly pilau soaked in jif lemon and a cheese naan that turned up disguised as a margarita pizza without the tomato,(in a pizza box!!)
