A.J's Famous Double Burgers in Lancaster

I think we were snagged by the 'famous' signs and perhaps thought we were in for something pretty special. Hotdog was pretty poor... Chips were as expected but served in a polystyrene cup. Sauces on offer were the cheapest on the market; watery, vinegar and sugar sauces.. Horrible. Overall, pretty poor..

Burger did taste nice but was expensive for what it was. Basic bun with relatively small burgers for £5. Chip portion was also tiny plus they only take cash. The lady serving was pleasant enough and it has potential to be great but I wouldn't go back or recommend it.

How can these burger s be famous? It wasn't special at all. MC D's big burger is more special. And better . Should rename it's self.

I don't think it's fair how people are raiting it bad because of the name the food was really good and the person who runs it is very nice

How this place is famous is beyond me. The burgers were anaemic and the chips tasted like cardboard. Famously underwhelming.

The food is delicious and a reasonable price. Always a wonderful place to eat. The woman who runs it is always very kind and friendly :)

A really nice woman creating food just like my mother used to make. Unfortunately my mother was a terrible cook! Over priced and not great by a long way. Sorry.

I don't understand how this can be called 'famous'. Yes, they are double burgers, but they are so thin, small, and low quality, you need 2 burgers to make it worth 1. Won't be returning

Nice lady serving basic English seaside food like burgers, chips n hot dogs. Always visit here when in morecambe and the hot dog with onions is my fave. Now't fancy just great grub!

The prices are high. The woman who served us did not listen to our order, got it wrong, then proceeded to burn my wife's eggs and stab the yolks without asking whether that was wanted. She put a semi-cooked burger that my wife had not asked for back on a pile of uncooked burgers which must be against hygiene regulations. The chips tasted foul probably because the chip oil had not been changed for a long time. We dumped most of the food in the bin- what a waste of money.
