We arrived on Thursday evening after a funeral, 12 of us, no booking, they gave us a table they had set up for a later booking. Food and service were excellent.

Very good menu making the choice difficult. Settled for the vegetable soup and lasagna of which both were excellent. Great service and friendly staff. Recommended

George had the chicken Maryland and I had the festive sandwich Very good as always. Staff are always very friendly and helpful.

I have been in AJs for something to eat many times. I have never had a bad meal it's always very tasty and are served on clean warm plate. The dinning room is immaculate as are the toilets. They have a very quick service.

Genuinely one of the best places for food, we've always gone here when it comes to celebrations, special occasions, or even just for a normal time. Their prices are not ridiculous, cheaper than we thought for such amazing food! I highly recommend their steak pita pocket for the main course with chips as a side, and also get a garlic dip with it. You won't be disappointed 🤤. I hope they never change their stake pita pockets because they're amazing. For dessert, I had a trio of ice cream. Also highly recommend it, delicious. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Overall, the food doesn't take too long to come out, especially if you get in a little earlier than others. Never had a complaint about AJ's. Top quality food for great prices. 10/10.

We visited on a Tuesday evening with family. Huge portions of tasty food, great service and very friendly staff. Remember to bring your own bottle of wine as it is not liscensed.

Haven't visited AJs diner for a number of years, and called in on the off chance. Our meal was beautiful and had such huge portions.

Food delicous, Service waining near the end. Atmosphere, it was far too loud, not able to have a conversation, that was the only disappointment.

First time visitor today and will definitely be back. Menu was fantastic, food was scrumptious and staff were absolutely lovely. My new favourite place. 🤩

Called mid afternoon on a Thursday. Doing fair bit of sit in and take away trade. Struck lucky with parking. Food was very tasty and ample portions. Pricing very competitive.

Good sized family run restaurant. Two floors of seating. Staff are friendly and very attentive. Really good food and great menu to choose from.

I have been to AJs several times and have found the food and the staff to be great. I had occasion to visit on a Tuesday night with some friends and we arrived at 7pm but it was busy so had to wait by the door. The floor staff scowled at us when we came in and said we had arrived very late! This restaurant is open until 8pm so I couldn' t understand the reaction. When I questioned this I was told that they had been very busy all day - surely that is a good thing is it not? After all, if you don't have customers, then that is not good for business or staff. The staff member pointed us and the others who were waiting to the stairs and told us to go up and mentioned that she would not get home tonight - perhaps said in jest but really not very professional. If we don't come in, you may not have a job eventually. While upstairs the other waitress banged and thumped cutlery down and was quite unpleasant when taking the order with no conversation. While the food was good, the experience was somewhat soured by the staff. With those attitudes, I think I will go elsewhere

Food was cool like heating up in a microwave. Knowone ask if we were ok or needed anything.

Soup was bland and tasteless although the wheaten bread was thick and tasty. Chicken gougons were really greasy and left a heavy, sick feeling after eating, especially as it was August and the place was so hot with no air con on. So made for an uncomfortable sitting and i left most of the food on the plate as i didnt eat it, which says it all that a customer didnt enjoy the meal. Only reason I gave 2 stars was due to the service being really prompt and didn't have to wait long to be served and receive my food. But wouldn't go back nor recommend.

Called in today (13th of august) to grab some lunch. Menu had a good selection, we decided to go for the Roast beef & lamb special. Food was beautiful, service was good too. Will definitely call back again. Looking forward to it already.

My family & I went out to AJ's for dinner (4 adults,2 children). We hadn't been to AJ's for quite some time. The staff are always so professional,friendly and helpful. The food was delicious as always & reasonably priced too 😀 We will definitely be back again 😀

Avoid, take my advice go elsewhere

Family meal - 8 of us had an excellent dining experience. A variety of meals were ordered. Without exception, everyone was delighted with their meal. The food was delicious, generous portions, piping hot. The service was excellent. Very good value for money I would highly recommend that you try for yourself.

Called in for Sunday lunch. Ordered the roast lamb dinner special. Exceptional long wait for food to come and when it did , the portion of lamb was ridiculously small. If you can’t serve a proper portion of lamb at £13.95 you would be better not putting it on.

Have been here more times than I can remember. I have noticed a change in the service and quality this last 3 months. Use to very hood. But is going downhill. Will give it a miss. For a few months.

Don't cater for allergies. Don't seem to know or care either, shame...

Food was cold ,chicken pink in middle and never got the full order , I used to go here pretty often but unfortunately I won't be back now that it has changed hands very disappointing.

It was a good surprise for a late dinner on the way to Downpatrick. The chef's day special is a good alternative to the usual burguer. I also suggest you try one of the days desert. The food was good, with a well done serving and good service.

Food couldn't be faulted. Have been a few times. Recently went for mother's day lunch as a party of 4. Free corkage is a bonus. Got 3 courses. Good sized portions. Good variety on the menu. Bannoffee and pavlova are lovely. Good value for money. Only fault was the service as the waitress tipped the plate with food and cutlery over our table. Also the meals and drinks came in stages, as though some meals/drinks had been forgotten and had to ask for the sauce and missing coffees we had ordered.

Absolutely delicious! The food was gorgeous! Had Aj's Topper and Fried Brie as a starter and Strawberry Cheesecake! Highly recommend

Unfortunately service was terrible . Took an hour for the first course then took 30 mins to clear table then 10 mins to enquire if we would like to look at the desert menu and then after waiting for approximately an hour no one came near us again. We left after 3 hours after only having one course so if you have a full day to pass would recommend it...

The food is always excellent at AJ's. It is always warm, well presented, and great value for money. We travelled 40 miles on the recommendation of a family member and have been back on a number of occasions. We have recommended AJ's to other friends .

I pre phone an order at 5.50, was told 15 mins, I'm now still standing in the restaurant 50 mins waiting, I ask a girl to check on the order, she forgot to ask, I asked her again and was told another 10 mins, I asked for a refund. She went off, never came back 8 mins later I'm handed a meal. Do yourself a favour, go elsewhere.

Usually enjoy going to Quinns, Food was very nice, as always. Today, however, we encountered an undesirable individual who had to be challenged by another customer about their conversation. The individual then became aggressive because someone dared ask them to stop talking about his sectarian viewpoint and a context that was very unnecessary in front of children.

What a gem. Courteous efficient staff, a varied menu to suit all our family choices, and delicious plates full of scrumptious food. Highly recommended

Haven't been there since covid but loved it and would love to go back as a young kid I went there at least once a month with my mum and nanny and had great time I do recommend it.

My family and I have been going to ajs for year's and never once have we had a bad meal or experience, the staff and the food is lovely, the food is always fresh, beautiful cooked and above all tasty, the portion sizes are generous and is all very reasonably priced. The restaurant itself is beautiful decorated , warm and inviting and spotlessly clean , and the staff are so lovely very welcoming and friendly , they are quick to serve your every need without being overbearing. As I said before we've been going for years now and will continue to do so as we love it ,I very highly recommend you try ajs I promise you'll not be disappointed.

Came out for a family meal and AJs is a family favourite place to eat out. Food was amazing as always. However the staff were very rude. Have never had an encounter like this before from ajs. Blonde older woman with glasses extremely rude and everything was just a problem , and an attitude that was picked up by the entire table. Horrible service. Think customer service training might need updated.

Had a lovely dinner with family after a few days on the road, camping it was well needed. Absolutely delicious dinner and dessert.

Always excellent at AJ’s. I popped in earlier for a late lunch and got the Caesar salad. Crisp lettuce, chicken and bacon perfectly done and finished off with flavoursome sauce. AJ’s brilliant reputation is well earned. Thank you again!

First ever visit to AJs and tried the Aj special burger. Has to be one of the best burgers I have ever eaten. It was big with a large chunky real beef patty. stuffed with bacon tomato and coleslaw and cheese. Very friendly service and not over priced for the size of feed I got so..10/10

We didn’t want to he home from Tennessee to later but couldn’t find a business open before 6 am other than the fast food and 24 hour chain restaurants. I found A.J.s Diner was opened at 6am. I told my wife let’s check it out. It seems to be an old A&W or drive in food stop. I ordered an egg and cheese biscuit sandwich and my wife ordered egg, onion, and cheese omelette. We both had hash browns and coffee with our breakfast. I gave the diner a 5 out of 5 for opening for early morning mostly working people, hometown diner atmosphere, and the food especially the crispy hash browns which we both liked. It’s not a fancy chain restaurant place but we were there for the food!

Vegetarian Fry and Sticky Toffee Pudding both absolutely delicious. Have been there before always consistent, always delicious. Though I usually have there amazing fish. They were willing to do me fish though it was breakfasts and very early. Was really pleased, decided to try Fry, good choice, though always enjoy their Fish, which is not to be missed!

Beautiful restaurant with good variety of choice. Vegetarian options there but they are heavy with the butter! I had battered cod and chips batter was very light and crispy. Husband had chicken and enjoyed it. Sticky toffee pudding was ok 😁

Fantastic mixed grill and the biggest garlic mushrooms known to humankind. Sadly the Bounty Cheesecake from the specials board sold out before we got to indulge, and most of the puddings weren't suitable for nut allergy sufferers but would return again if only for those delicious, gigantic mushrooms....

We called into AJs for lunch and the experience was brilliant. We were greeted and seated very quickly, given it was Easter and very busy. The staff were very attentive & friendly towards us & our children. Our order was brought out very quickly and was delicious. Even my 2 year old son was digging into my lasagne. We were taken care of from start to finish & all had a great meal. Will definitely be back.
