Been to the Heifer a few times, unfortunately they do not fail to disappoint. I would like to love this place, but but I am constantly let down. I've tried here for lunch previously, to be asked if I had a reservation, with not another customer in the place, then uming and are'ing for 15minutes if they have a seat. .We then sat down and they would not give us the lunch menu. (We left, and went to the Brown Cow). This latest time I attended with a couple of colleagues, just for a pint or two, before going elsewhere for food. Firstly we were ignored, in favour of food orders, then we were moved off a table for a so called reservation to a tiny area at the end of the bar ( the table had wrappers and mini cheddars all over it and no reserved sign) an hour and a half later when the reservation arrived, there were loads of available tables. I like the idea of the Airedale Heifer, but unfortunately cannot recommend it at all. If you want a quiet drink, go to the Busfeild arms in East Morton. If you want food, try the Brown cow in Bingley.

I really enjoyed this place, went for a Sunday lunch which was very nice and reasonably priced. Cheesecake was a bit of a small portion for the price. Next time I'd just have a coffee because the mains were a good size. Great that it had an accessible toilet. Beer garden was really big and looked very comfortable. The staff were very welcoming and efficient. Will definitely return.

Lovely place and lovely food, but I felt very short changed as a vegetarian. Very little choice - veggie sausages with the veg from the Sunday dinners or vegetable lasagne. It felt like I'd gone back in time 30 years. I hope the choice improves when the new menu is complete but it felt very much like vegetarians were only catered for grudgingly.

Upon entering we waited to be seated at the counter as requested but no staff member was present. The telephone at the counter rang and a staff member appeared and answered the call. It was clearly someone making a reservation for a later date. It was disappointing to be kept waiting and showed that their priority is not with customers who are already there and waiting. No apology offered for keeping us waiting a further period of time. Food always to a good standard and lovely surroundings.

Busy place. Lovely food and great service. Update for 2023: We went again today and the roast beef was amazing. Update for 2024: Went today for a meal for four. I had burrito which was okay. Mum's OH had a roast which looked good. Mozzarella sticks were good. Go for the blooming onion. Nice ale too which they make. 3 mains. 3.5 pints. 1 starter. 1 blooming onion. 3 puds, 2 hot drinks and one diet coke less than £105.

Boothroyd decided on a 5* review based on the beer range. They sell six real ales from the Bridgehousr brewery. Only had their beers a couple of times before. Good pints of Golden and also a Pale Ale. A large pub that has most tables laid out for food. A pricey pub menu. A good size beer garden. My missus rates the wine. Definitely a destination pub for a night out.

Staff were friendly however drinks and food were very slow and the food was terrible. Went on a busy Monday, maybe they didn’t anticipate how busy it was going to be, waited best part of an hour for two mediocre “burritos”. These consisted of rather bland vegetables and chicken in a wrap with what tasted like microwaveable rice, with some curdled soured cream on the side. I would be fascinated to see what their spaghetti meatball burrito would have been like, and all of their other burrito concoctions. I think a menu revamp would benefit. I don’t think we will be going back any time soon.

Called for lunch on a quiestish Monday. Spent £120. Food absolutely amazing!! Waitresses friendly and efficient. Bar manager (assuming) guy could have been more welcoming. Both on arrival and leaving. We walked past him when we were going and briefly spoke asking if everything with the bill had been settled (as we'd ordered drinks and food seperately) and he just walked off whilst talking - never even said thanks for coming or hope you enjoyed it. Shame really as aside from the food the service is equally as important.

As we hadn't seen or had a sample of the excellent beers on offer I was disappointed with this 😕 we did go to the bar went and sat down and waited a while before I had to ask a waiter if we could be served some drinks? We have been many times but our most recent experience tells me there has been a change. The rare beef on the Sunday lunch was one thick slice of topside. It had clearly been seared but that was it, the inside wasn't cooked and a dinner knife wouldn't cut through it, rare beef should cut easily. It won't stop us returning but it was disappointing. An excuse given by a staff member was that the Chef used very sharp knives, well yes, I would hope a Chef wouldn't use a dull knife but no idea what that had to do with it. The meal wasn't charged for so that was fair enough, but then when I paid the bill, there were items on it that we hadn't had Please get this place back to its high standards.

Review of People First's Visit to The Airedale Heifer in Riddlesden Our recent visit to The Airedale Heifer in Riddlesden with approximately 40 members was a delightful experience. The food was served promptly and tasted amazing, receiving unanimous praise from our group. The staff were exceptionally accommodating and friendly, ensuring everyone felt welcome and well-cared-for. The venue itself provided a pleasant atmosphere with a nice space and a good range of drinks to choose from. Special thanks to the manager, Becky, who was personable and understanding, especially when additional members joined us unexpectedly on what was already a busy day for the restaurant. Altogether, it was a great visit and we are looking forward to coming again in the future.

Well, what a change since last time we visited.. Not for the better, unfortunately. The food was ok, not the best I've had. The sticky toffee pudding was terrible, tastless, the toffee sauce was like water, and you could tell it had just been reheated in the good old microwave! It was that bad I left it, and that's a 1st for me where puddings are concerned!. The lovely lady who came to clear up noticed that the pudding was left and asked if all was OK, to which I explained what was wrong with it, and to my surprise, she agreed with everything I said, even the bit about it been reheated in the microwave. I'm sorry, but would you pay nearly £7 for a pudding like that?. Also, what was the chef thinking that sending a pudding out like that was acceptable?. The lady in charge took the pudding off the bill, which was very kind of her. Now, would I go again? No. There are better places to eat for the price, their charging, and much better food, too. Sorry if this upsets anyone, but it's my honest opinion. 🙂

I brought my family for a meal tonight to the Airedale Heifer for my son’s 15th Birthday and was served the worst roast dinner that I have had in a long time. The turkey was dry, the Yorkshire puddings were burnt and the veg and mash was minimal. I asked for more veg and the waitress told me I had to buy an extra portion. I was asked by one of the other staff how the meal was and I mentioned my disappointment of which she said that she’d speak to her manager and see if ‘she could do something with the bill’. To my disgust when it was time to pay they insisted that we pay full price. Absolutely shocking service Airedale Heiffer

Very disappointed as I’d seen good reviews. Went for Sunday dinner and the whole place was loud and chaotic. We were sat for 30 mins before my husband had to go seek someone out to take our food order. No vegetarian Sunday dinner left but was offered to have a veggie Sunday roast without the roast ie a plate of veg and gravy! As there was only 2 other veggie options that I didn’t want I did in the end decide to have the Sunday dinner accompaniments with an extra Yorkshire pudding. I should say the Yorkshire puddings were great as was the mash but the roast potatoes weren’t crispy at all. When it came to paying the bill I was gobsmacked to see that we had been charged full price for my veggie ‘Sunday dinner’ when it was just accompaniments and no nut roast. Paying the same to get less doesn’t seem right. Needless to say we won’t be returning.

Update... Not a pub. 2 stars removed from previous review. Called in for a couple of pints 8:30 last night (Friday, 1 December) and was refused service due to 'private party'. I was wondering why there were 2 barmen doing nothing - normally drink service is poor as they focus on clients that are having a meal. I couldn't even get a pint to take outside (in the freezing cold). They were waiting for drink orders from the diners. Previous review... Great beer, good food. There's a brewery on site but the pub doesn't celebrate the essence of a good pub - the Ale, and the atmosphere that could be generated from a real ale pub. Instead it caters (very well) to those eating out. Shame, for me. I want a pub to be a pub and not a restaurant. Bonus point for being dog friendly. Mixed emotions, obviously.

A bit hit and miss. Most dishes very good. Staff great. Easy to find and lots of parking. Nachos and Lasagne lacklustre. Lots of kids, which we are fine with, but as many dogs, which we're not fine with when eating. We were seated in the middle of the room, near two doors and the welcome podium and bar, so there was a great deal of 'traffic' all around us, which with the dogs barking on top was not warm or relaxing. My beer was a hurriedly chosen Pumpkin spice beer. It was that, but nothing I'll have again. We planned ahead and chose from the Autumn menu. On arrival at 6pm we were told only the Sunday lunch menu was available. That grated a bit. We had a decent meal but not the birthday celebration we had wanted.
