Best vegan breakfast in Britain? I've been here 6 years now and have searched high and low in London for a reasonably priced flavourful full English vegan breakfast. Finally found it here. Lovely venue, friendly staff. Organic vegan muffins and cakes! And! And! They have an accessible bathroom! Well done Ahimsa. Please get some Marmite for toast :) Sept 2024 - Just a quick update, the food and staff are always lovely but the art they are displaying on the walls is not from vegan artists and any money you pay for that art will get spent on perpetuating a lifestyle that includes animal cruelty and slaughter. I have spoken to the manager but she seemed interested which I found strange considering they have a picture of Mohanji on their wall.

Really enjoyed the rice bowl I had today at lunchtime - very healthy, delicious and full of protein - quinoa base, spinach tofu with the delicious and healthy salad ingredients topped with herb sauce- forgot to take a photo - will definitely be going back soon

It’s a small café, but the food is always amazing. I’ve tried the Ahimsa burger with sweet potato fries, the Mediterranean falafel wrap, and the tofu chili burger—all were packed with fresh flavors. The latte and acai mixed berry smoothie were also really good. While there’s no parking directly at the café, don’t let that be a deal breaker—Pinner Memorial Park is just a short walk away and has convenient paid parking. Whether you’re vegan or not, you won’t be disappointed here. Perfect for a nice breakfast, brunch, or lunch!

The young ladies who served us were really polite and professional. I hate to say it but my rice bowl was bland and tasteless. The curry was watery and unpleasant. The coffee was great though. I was looking forward to coming here but I wont return.

Very busy lunchtime with a number of hungry people waiting but Danisa made up our wraps with the fillings of our choice and served us with a big smile. All food very fresh.

Had the Ahimsa Full English Breakfast. Was pleasantly surprised. Nice food and nice atmosphere. The coffee however was not good. For the calibre of machine they have I would have expected a much better coffee. It was weak and milky, definitely got the mix wrong.

It is fully vegan restaurant. So can choose any dish Quality has gone down. The burger ordered came burned. Coffee had to be returned as it was cold .

Have eaten here many times over the last few years so we decided to arrange our small wedding reception here for 18 people in the late afternoon/early evening. They gave us a wonderful three course meal with generous portions, which we had prior tastings of to agree and select the menu items. The service and decorations on the day were fabulous. Thank you Ahimsa management and all the waiting and kitchen staff for making it such a memorable day for us. i cannot recommend this establishment to highly.

I attended a wedding reception here. Everything is vegan, freshly made with love. I had Samosa, jerk, rice and veg curry and a Delicious strawberry dessert. Highly recommended

Just went inside for the first time today. I had a veg curry bowl and tropical smoothie. It felt very nice there, possitive and good to be reminded of absence of violence from our thoughts words and action. I also liked that it was sunny inside as well. Planning to come again.

We just celebrated our Vegan Wedding in Ahimsa and it was absolutely fabulous. The plant-based food was incredible. All the guests were happy and really enjoyed the homemade fresh delicious and healthy food. The decoration was absolutely fantastic Balloons,flowers arrangements,lovely silver throw... If you are having a private and small wedding Ahimsa will be very happy to help you hosting there! The staff has been so caring and took our wedding very seriously. They are also extremely GENEROUS and very focus on making things right. Even my husband's non vegan friends had a really good time🤗 It was also very affordable. Hi, Brunch at Ahimsa Cafe made my day, yesterday. The staff were exceptionally kind and welcoming which embodies their values. Lovely ambiance & energies. We enjoyed everything we ordered; my teen boys ordered a full vegan English Breakfast & Acai smoothies, Blueberry Pancakes hit the spot for me, and our small dog loved munching on her butter toast & slurping her bowl of water. I could easily say top 3 vegan in Greater London. We had scrambled tofu wrap, burger and pancakes. Everything was so delicious. Not one of those super fancy show-off plates without taste, it was simple but super tasty. Pancakes might be the best ever I’ve had. I’m definitely coming back and bringing everyone I love.

I came to collect some lovely brownies and muffins for some individuals with different dietary requirements at a family get-together the next day (staff were highly knowledgeable about what cakes were suitable for whom) but ended up staying for coffee, a full vegan breakfast and some scrumptious pancakes. The place is staffed by angels, who deliver a flawless service, the food is superb, portion sizes are very generous, the atmosphere is very wonderful and it is all fantastic value for money. I fully recommend Ahimsa, the Vegan Café! I will pay a visit again sometime for sure if I'm in the area. All the best, Rich

Delicious food and really hospitable staff. Must try the the chocolate cake and the falafels! Fun Fact - the restaurant idea was guided by a strong devotee of 'Sai Baba' - 'Mr. Mohanji'. The pure bliss energy in the place is very evident! :)

Fantastic Vegan café. The create-you-own style of cuisine means you can have exactly what you fancy. So healthy and so tasty. Plus a wonderful display of artwork by a local artist. What a bonus.

I attended this afternoon with my wife and son (with learning disability). When the lady serving brought the tofu and sausage wrap, she asked my son if wanted fork and knife. My son said no as he thought he will manage with his hand. Then he realised he will need the fork and knife and went to get it. The lady was rude and told him that she already asked him previously. Even when my wife when she was asking the same lady staff for some advise prior to ordering, she was not helpful. Lastly we ordered the caramel cake which she did not deliver and I had to get up half to way get it and no apology. She is plum staff lady. She was off handed may be had a bad day or has an attitude problem. The food was great but did not enjoy because of the attitude of the staff. I spent £33 and sorry will not recommend and comeback again.

Friendly place with good healthy karma free food.

This place is one of Pinner gems. I believe that it's not easy to have a truly vegan meal and make it really tasty. But Ahimsa is that unique place that does it great. The food is delicious, vegan and also very nutritious. They succeeded to crack the formula of how to sustain all of this features. We enjoyed very much. The place itself is very small and atmosphere is very pleasant, and there is a take away option too. Though, I do recommend to visit this place in person and to try it there.

Such delicious food, and I’m not vegan!

Great vegan food. Lovely, friendly and helpful staff. It was very busy when we went. So a long wait in the queue to get served. Also if you sit on one of the little tables along the wall, then the people standing in the queue are really on top of you. I would definitely get their food again and would like to visit again but probably not eat in during busy periods.

I organised a Christmas meet-up vegan meal for a large group of people from as far as Bedford, Dunstable and Hertfordshire. The team at Ahimsa were so accommodating and allowed us to come after hours, decorated the tables with a Christmas theme, dressed as elves and offered us complimentary drinks. It was the most festive and fun atmosphere and the food was truly wonderful. I had a nourish bowl with chilli tofu and jerk tofu. ( because I couldn’t decide which to go for) it tasted wonderful and flavoursome and so filling. I had a delicious turmeric latte which is highly recommended . And the polenta cake was awesome. I also took home a muffin and date shortcake. There was soo much choice - at least 10 different dessert options. I will definitely be back for more. Highly recommended. Thank you Ahimsa team for taking such good care of our group this weekend and the outstanding service , where you constantly kept checking we were ok. Nothing was too much effort.

The service was very good here, they really did go out of their way to accommodate our party. Unfortunatlely my food and drink was poor. The oat milk flat white was not a good coffee- I'm not sure what kind of machine was used to make it, but it was not full bodied and the oat milk tasted like a cheap one (either due to the quantity used + overheating, or as I suspect, the brand). I had a falafel wrap which was completely soggy and slimy at the bottom when it arrived and the vegetables in it tasted uninteresting. The falafel themselves tasted good and had a nice texture. The salad bowls looked like they lacked seasoning and interest. I really wanted to like this cafe because the ethos and what they're trying to do is great. Service is also great. But the food really needs improving. I would be unlikely to visit again.

First time at ahimsa. Unfortunately, we had to give 1* and this was not done lightly. Firstly, we reserved a table and the staff weren’t aware of this. Nonetheless, we did manage to get a table for lunch and were seated. Me and my friend were really hungry and so ordered soon after being seated. I ordered the full English vegan breakfast and my friend ordered the Mediterranean breakfast and green tea. Me and my friend were busy chatting and had noticed that our food had not arrived 45 minutes later. For such a small cafe and literally seated opposite the cash machine in which we paid for our food on arrival, none of the waiters had checked on us until 45 mins later. What was astounding is that the cafe was not even fully booked. At this point, apologies were given and we were served our food and tea 15 minutes later (on top of a 45 minute wait). When the food did eventually arrive, the chef told me to move my bag which was out of the way under the table, instead of offering his apologies. For food…. the food was not worth the wait. The breakfast could have been made by a 6 year old. Mine was baked beans out of a can, the mushrooms and tomato had absolutely 0 seasoning, the spinach was not wilted and the tofu scramble was saturated with turmeric giving it a rough, powdery sickly taste. As for the toast, there was clumps of butter on it. For this, I was charged £9.90. My friends falafel was also as dry as the Sahara and what was ‘premium’ avocado was literally mushed avocado. We left hungry and we’re disappointed that this cafe didn’t even offer any sort of discount for such a terrible service. We won’t be returning again. As a foodie, this is notably the worst breakfast I’ve ever had at a cafe.

Very disappointed I always walked past here wondering what the food was like I enter the shop a very young white gurl was there like emo style she never gave me no eye contact I had to call her said I’m busy even tho just washing jugs as I’m new I asked her wants the different between the vegan breakfast and medertitsn one she read English the breakfast goes to me unknow what better if read it for yourself unfortunately because of her bad attitude and customer service I just walked away I’ll never ever try yoir cafe because of her

Vegan restaurant with some gluten free options. Pancakes and burgers are very good and tasty. They serve fresh juices and smoothies. The atmosphere is nice and staff friendly. It’s very busy around lunch time but they accept reservations.

I received a very warm welcome from Madeline who was extremely pleasant and knowledgeable about the menu. My chilli tofu bowl was delicious. I definitely recommend a visit.

The blueberry pancakes were great- not dry, but not too moist, and the blueberries and peanut butter added on were a perfect combination. The flavour was not compromised by the fact that they were vegan - just as good as ones made with milk. Thanks Ahimsa!

Had a few takeaway wraps and juices from here and they’ve always been good, but finally had a chance to sit in and grab lunch and was very impressed! Food was great and the service was friendly and helpful. So lucky to have it round the corner.

I came in Wednesday and the staff member on shift was lovely and very accommodating even whilst just being in training. Great portion sizes would highly recommend.

Ordered a salad bowl, there’s no consistency in quantity for the same price, some days you can get a full bowl and some days half a bowl. Customer service is poor and inflexible. Food is not over the top even. Pinner has other lovely caffe’s with better quality food and an amazing customer service.

Fantastic local vegan café with wide range of options from both the more indulgent and healthier ends of the spectrum. Hot food including all day breakfast and cakes all excellent. Wonderful team.

Very disappointing service today as they did not accept my genuine £50 note. The girl who served me said that they do not accept £50 notes. I said that I had never heard such a thing, a £50 note is money afterall. She then said that wasn't what she meant and that she needed to find change, which in the end she did not have. Despite being a regular customer, I just found the service unhelpful and as a result food was wasted and I had to leave the cafe hungry and disappointed. Thankfully, I was able to have a nice lunch at nearby Silver Grill cafe who did accept my £50 note and gave me change! Lesson for Ahimsa cafe: Keep enough change and if you truly don't accept £50 notes, put up a sign to say so. That way you can avoid food waste and a customer's time. As I enjoy the health bowls, I will return to Ahimsa and give them another chance, but please ask your servers to improve their customer service, be a bit more friendly, helpful and smile more.

Definitely our new favourite place to eat. So much choice, freshly made and good value. The best spicy bean burgers and waffles we've ever tasted. The smoothies are gorgeous and the staff are so welcoming and friendly . The only problem with Ahimsa is how to choose because everything is so delicious. Would highly recommend - even if you are not vegan I guarantee you will love the food here.

This is the best vegan cafe!! I have been a few times now and the food never disappoints. The service is great and efficient, the food is really well priced and the portions are a good size. The coffee is also great. There is a wide variety of food, so you'll find something for everyone.

I have been coming here once a month for a number of years, the has maintained a very high quality. The staff have been consistently welcoming and happy to explain dishes. The drive down from Newcastle can be onerous but I know one of the high lights of the week will be a meal at ahimsa.

Ahimsa is a great place to enjoy your meal. I visited the cafe once when it first opened, and I loved their idea of bowls, wraps and many other nutritional plant based meals. It changed my perspective of vegan meals from just a lightweight snack to an actual full and revitalising dish. Loved the atmosphere, service and the food altogether!

Rarely do you find a truly tasty and convenient vegan eatery but Ahimsa ticks all the boxes. There is a good selection from the menu of quick, tasty, nutritious and affordable options. There is also an excellent range if smoothies, juices, coffees and desserts. I had the falafel wrap which was really good as they make the falafel fresh, we bought extra portions as they were very good. The staff are also friendly and welcoming.

Have had the Mediterranean breakfast and a bowl (I chose chilli tofu, quinoa with extra salad) - both were incredible I highly recommend it’s by far the best place for vegan food for miles!

It's a lovely place, with a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, serving coffees, teas, smoothies, fresh juices, breakfast, pancakes, waffles, cakes, wraps, Buddha bowls, burgers and loads more. Tasty and nutritious and utterly delicious.

My third visit! Great food as always and chose the jerk chkn wrap this time. Delicious. My friends chose the waffles and chocolate syrup (and enjoyed their meal). We took away the order and ate in the nearby park!

I have been to ahimsa a few times and as glad as I am to have a fully vegan place with a fair bit of options on main meals, sides and desserts, I found the food to be average and lacking flavour in most aspects. The desserts were a bit dry as well. All in all, if you're in the area, do give it a try as the rating is reflective of the fact that there is a fair bit of choice including vegan desserts which are hard to come by sometimes.

All it takes to ruin any successful business, is one member of incompetent staff ! I went here today with my wife for lunch. Placed an order, we waited 20 mins with no sign of any meal prep taking place in the Kitchen area. As the kitchen is very visible, it was clear nothing was being cooked. I approached the staff who took the order, who then disclosed they forgot to pass the order on to the chef, despite the place being empty. The staff member I spoke with seemed to barely be able to speak English, and lacked the basic ability to provide any explanation for his incompetence. If I were the owner, I would be terrified to leave the reputation of my business in such incapable hands. We both left starving and unable to have any lunch as we had to resume work. I used to rate this place quite highly, but will not be back until they address and sort out the diabolical service.

I've always been a great fan and taken friends along but today's home delivery large bowl that had 4 small spinach leaves as my spinach portion plus very small portions of any other veg in the bowl has left me unhappy. A phone call was made but I was told that this is the portion size. One spoon. A non large bowl portion per veg is apparently half a spoon. I am not happy, I've eaten this meal a number of times and this was it's most meagre offering

Good place. Our first couple of visits here went quite well. However, my latest visit was average since our vegan all day breakfast was not up to the mark compared to the first time.

Food options were more than I expected. Service was a little slow if you wanted anything besides a bowl but was tasty and portion size decent.

Visited the café yesterday and enjoyed a 'large' Chilli Tofu wrap which had carrot, lettuce, cucumber, and tomato included. The servers were very friendly and seemed to be getting on with helping the new employee in a welcoming and encouraging manner. The chilli tofu itself was very well seasoned and had a nice level of heat - not anything crazy hot, though. Might be an idea to make the tofu 'crispy' by frying it in cornflour. I'll certainly be back when I'm in the area, however, I wouldn't say it's the best value for money given the modest size of the map. It's always nice to support independent, vegan cafés/restaurants.

Always healthy vegan food and a great place to catch up with friends. Even though I think it was pricey when they launched, the place is doing something right in this niche market. I have to say their rice/ quinoa bowls are £9.10 for large and couple of quid lesser for medium, are very filling, fresh and light to eat. Hence, I go to Ahimsa, despite the prices.

I never questioned the prices when I would be charged extra for big portions. I’ve always been a regular customer but recently staff have been very unpleasant when I ask for a larger portion. I pay the extra price and never questioned the price but have been told I cannot have the larger portions anymore. Also was told the food is frozen which is why they need to be careful with the portions. This was a shock to find out as ahimsa means respect to living things. This is not healthy vegan food. Please be careful what you are eating

Absolutely the worst burger I’ve had. They use supermarket buns, supermarket patty basics of condiment and have the audacity to charge £7.50 Massively overpriced.

Ok this is a beautiful café. What a gem! The food was absolutely amazing, big variety, super delicious, very well priced imo, the staff were all really nice and friendly. Enjoy Starbucks etc... Owners and staff, don't take these clowns personally.

Have been going to this place for a while and prices aren’t cheap. When I asked to waitress for the middle section of chocolate brownie (dont like the edge pieces ) she said no? The cake would break apart? Doesn’t make any sense? What would happen if I wanted 2 or more slices? Went to Starbucks that same day and asked for a fresh piece of cake ( didn’t want the one on display) and the waitress said “no problem “ This is the kind of service that you expect!! Such a shame. I really wanted to support independent businesses like Ahmisa but very Disappointed with this service won’t be going back especially after paying £14 in total.

The falafel wraps are so good! It is a bit expensive though

The food is quite good but the prices just keep going up and up. The hummus in the mixed bowls has gone up 50% from £1 to £1.50 and the price of the bowls has gone up by about 15%. It’s ironic as they have a sign in their that says ‘love all, feed all’. They should change that to read ‘live all, feed those with lots of money only’ I’m not against against a price increase but they’re taking liberties with their customers. I won’t be going back in there.

The vegan bowls are really yummy and I enjoyed mine. Unfortunately I had to deduct one star as it is getting very expensive. You used to be able to choose one item from either Hummus, Avocado or Raita for free. Now there is a £1.50 additional charge for these 'premium' items (as they call them), which brought the cost of a medium bowl to £8.40. I find this a bit too expensive for what it is. It should be £6.90 including one of the 'premium' items. Also, slight disappointment in terms of the chef and waitress talking loudly to each other, whilst I was sitting there eating my food, which made it less than peaceful to sit there and eat quietly. It was an early lunch, so I was the only customer there at the time. Nevertheless, they should have been mindful and lowered their voices, as it disturbed my enjoyment of my meal. Overall, this place has nice vegan food, but they need to address those niggling issues.
