Agile Rabbit in Lambeth

A little underwhelming…. The pizzas are good, but the service and wine is disappointing. It’s very causal but expensive. Food took a long time to come out and the wine was over priced.

I had a booking here for lunch today confirmed by email and a reminder yesterday. When I arrived today they were closed and the staff inside offered no explanation or apology. I’ve no idea what the foods like but even before getting in the service is awful. I shan’t try again.

We picked this spot for breakfast on a whim - a really lucky decision. The food was top and the service was too. We had the puccia with toppings.

£5 for one tiny slice of pizza that they just heat up in the oven? Plus they totally forgot my friend’s order all together and had to be reminded. Won’t be back.

Ordered a croissant and a brownie £6 …..why? Croissant was nothing special croissant was dry and the brownie was worse zzzthin and lack lustre. It’s Herne hill not Harrods?

I used to really like agile rabbit having gotten take out from the Brixton branch a few times. However this visit was the final nail in the coffin and I won’t be coming again. Service - the restaurant was clearly very understaffed as there was only one person waiting on all tables and making drinks. As a result, it took about 15 minutes to receive tap water when we asked for it and the service was generally slow and unhappy. When our food came the order was wrong and ultimately some Arancini we had ordered (and paid for via the app) never arrived. The server was too busy to even be able to get his attention and ask for a refund when it became apparent it wasn’t coming. Food - we had a selection of antipasti. The panzanella salad was, to be honest, disgusting and tasted like it had been sat in a bowl all day. The focaccia tasted stale and old. The truffle fries were fine. The arancini was invisible and never arrived.

As someone who commutes from herne hill frequently I go here pretty much every time. Their pizza is just incredible and their Mac and cheese whilst being not the best due to takeaway the flavour is still amazing!! The staff are always lovely too!! :)))

Received a call 2 hours after ordering saying they’d run out of the ingredients to make all three of the pizza we’d ordered.

I bought a takeaway cappuccino. It was small (usual flat white size), warm (not hot) and cost £3. Overpriced in my book.

Racist? Homophobic? Or just plain rude? Went to Agile Rabbit on Saturday night to pick up a takeaway pizza and beer for myself and my other half. Was very keen to try this place out as we are locals and like to support independent traders. Unfortunately the guy behind the counter was extremely rude. He refused to speak to or make eye contact with me, instead opting to bark at my partner telling her that I couldn't hold my bottle of water in line as I didn't purchase it from the from AR. I gave my bottle of water to my partner without fuss but he then continued to be rude, avoided eye contact with me specifically and made a hand motion to shoo us away. What made matters even weirder is that he allowed the rather drunk (and only other) customer in line to 'educate me on what he was saying'. My girlfriend is white, and I am mixed race - what is it about me specifically that made him not even make eye contact with me I wonder? The younger girl at the counter then tried to serve me politely but by that time the bridges had been burned and we walked to 400 Rabbits around the corner for a fantastic pizza and pint. So, if you are either LGBT or non white - or even if you are none of those - don't try this place out unless you want to chance being barked at. There are plenty of other great and cheaper pizza places (500 degress, 400 Rabbits) to go to in the area. Sesame across the road also sells cheaper and better pasta!

We had a truly awful experience at Agile Rabbit. The food was cold when it arrived... so cold in fact I sent it back. It had clearly been cooked a LONG time before it was served. The staff were unapologetic about this and really just quite disinterested in anything other than servicing deliveroo orders. I wish I'd read the reviews on here before going as our experience matches many of the comments on here... disappointing, poor covid compliance, cold food, cold atmosphere (we ate with our coats on as it was too cold to take them off), it all felt a bit grubby too (tables not cleaned properly etc). I won't be going again.

Food was tasty but that’s the only positive. Service was poor (they kept forgetting parts of our order) and I wouldn’t say the staff understand how to wear a mask (doesn’t count on your neck). If you’re worried about Covid this isn’t the place for you.

I've been here a handful of times pre-COVID - good vibe, nice food and often with some kind of DJ or live music at the back. Obviously, some things aren't possible any more but they could have kept the nice food, which was largely absent for us (and, overhearing some other diners' experiences, also for them) We had pizza, polenta chips and drinks - service was friendly and prompt, although the app you have to order with is a bit shonky and I had to check they'd got it right. Most of the food menu was sold out; including garlic bread. How does one sell out of garlic bread? Pizza was prompt, but overpriced at £4 for a smallish square of tepid, sad-looking sogginess. Luckily pizza can be eaten perfectly well cold so we ate it anyway; the polenta chips were fine although the ketchup tasted like passata out of a tin. The food here used to be fine and given how limited their menu now is, you'd think they could do the basics well; sorry guys, but on the basis of this experience, you can't. The front of house staff were very friendly and efficient, which I know has been questioned by other reviews, but the business model is what's flawed. Even with a discount due to Eat Out to Help Out, this was overpriced and poor value for money. When the scheme ends, it would be pretty shocking to charge what they do for what you get. Recommendation; avoid for at least six months.

The fact that 50% of the reviews are “average to terrible” is a fair reflection of style over substance here . Really long wait for substandard and lazily cooked brunch . Overcooked poached eggs , split cold hollandaise , blackening avocado , poor week coffee. Wanted to be impressed and have found a new go to brunch place but will not be returning , terrible shame 👎🏻. Go to Peachy Goat instead 👍🏻
