Pizza Express in Lambeth

As always, we were served by Joshua, he offered brilliant advice on the menu and went beyond the call of duty for being attentive and helpful for all our needs. Pizza express is our favourite reliable restaurant locally and staff like Joshua constantly reinforce our choice to come here. Always highly recommend.

the manager Theresa was super helpful when we asked to move tables after our table was over run by noisy disruptive children who were allowed to do so by their parents, the food was tasty and management were super friendly and accommodating

We had a wonderful evening at Pizza Express on Abbeville Road. The restaurant was buzzing, but the service was top-notch. The staff were not only efficient but also some of the friendliest and most entertaining I've come across in London. The food was fantastic, and the lively, welcoming atmosphere made the experience even better. Highly recommend for a great night out!

Had a fantastic dining experience at Pizza Express on Abbeville Road! Despite the restaurant being quite busy, the staff were incredibly kind, funny, and attentive. They made the evening so enjoyable with their positive energy. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for great food and even better service!

One young Chinese staff member was very friendly. The pizza I had was a bit dry and slightly tasteless. The atmosphere though was very good and family friendly. We would have stayed for dessert, but the wait after finishing our pizzas was a bit too long so we got the bill and went to Salisburys across the road for some chocolate.

went for dinner today found the atmosphere to be very distracting and noisy. The serving staff were lovely however they were crashing around the restaurant tidying up Dragging and banging chairs behind me, banging cutlery, just being generally quite noisy whilst cleaning around us and not thinking that there are people sitting wanting to have a relaxing meal. Shouting across to each other The music they were playing is terrible, which only added to the noise and distraction -I left with a headache! Food was very mediocre pasta carbonara was tasteless and congealed , where was the flavour??? and there were lots of hard bits of pasta in my food. Not sure if it was overcooked or undercooked To be honest- never had a crunchy carbonara before didn’t bother sending it back as I didn’t wanna wait for another dish and had filled up on bruchetta . I’ve tasted better carbonara ready meals from Tesco -not at all authentic. The pizzas are nice - I wish I’d had that instead,. Also they charge nearly £4 for a glass of Coke which is very pricey. 2 cokes will set you back almost £8 I found the food and especially pricing quite unreasonable for the quality . I wouldn’t mind paying it if I had good tasting food -If you want authentic Italian food There are a number of restaurants within Clapham that you can go to . The bruchetta was nice however If you want to be seated in this establishment, I would avoid sitting by the kitchen for preparation area sit near the back where it’s quieter and you can hear yourself think and enjoy your meal without being disturbed all the time

Pretty much every time we have ordered for collection from here they have screwed it up and I have had to wait for them to start it over again.

Seated then ignored for over 20 minutes Eventually asked to order Starters never arrived Mains OK but slow as kitchen very obviously prioritised an endless stream of delivery riders Offered desert menu Ignored for another 20 minutes Asked to speak to the manager who explained that she was only responsible for delivery orders and vaguely apologised. We asked for the bill emphasising that we had not received everything we had ordered. Given a bill including items that we ordered but that never arrived. Been going there for over 20 years. Will not go again.

MISSING PIZZA. Restaurant doesn't answer the phone - called over 15 times and it just rings out. Ruined the evening for myself and children! Not happy with the service at all and want a full refund!

Unfortunately a poor overall visit today. UPDATE: No reply from the store manager when emailing in. So they don’t really care. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Uncomfortably hot in the restaurant. The dough balls were excellent, however all the pizzas had excessive tomato, lacked in other toppings (cheese, chicken, etc) Overall very mediocre / average and unlikely to return.

This branch used to be my favourite Pizza Express - would travel all the way from Purley to get to this specific branch, but of recent, I think the management and staff have changed and the service is very very different.. In ALL pizza expresses across the country, they will make old recipes if you request, it's generally never a problem for them to make a pizza you like if the menu has changed slightly.. However, since the management changed, the staff seemed less concerned about pleasing customers and more hell-bent about not making any old recipes - which I have been ordering there for years.. There was literally no flexibility at all on any of the pizzas that my family and I ordered - something we are not used to at that branch.. Admittedly, the staff are not rude in any way, that would be a lie and a misrepresentation, but there is definitely less of a feeling of warmth from the staff and the manager - it is a more plastic environment now - i will say that, more concerned with order and policy than customers and community, which is a shame.. As a result, we will not be returning to this branch again, as my family and I really disliked the experience on our last visit.. I still love Pizza Express, but I will never go back to this branch again, solely because the nice people have left.

Delivery was excellent and the driver was polite. The pizza tasted good. Dough balls were yummy. The potato salad didn't have enough vinegar and the potatoes tasted bland. The cake slice was ok not great... Taste more like oil then chocolate and the shiny gelatin looking outer part of the cake is just too oily and not chocolatey enough. The cake sponge seems undercook or just saturated with 2 or 3 different oils. Could have been better!

This is a lovely place which is very accommodating for families and with friendly staff, especially Anson who made our last trip out such a pleasure. A good menu with lots of choices but it's the welcoming atmosphere that makes all the difference.

I was tried for a hard week at work and taking two young kids to dinner as moving out of our house for renovations. Pizza express always delivers outstanding service, food and cleanliness.

The waiter was super attentive with us and came to ask often if we needed anything. The quality of the pizza Pollo Fiesta Romana crust style was superb and crispy. I really had a great experience. They should remove the "express" out of the brand name as it is high quality.

This branch of Pizza Express has been going for many years. It continues to be of an excellent standard. We go fairly frequently as it is our local and the staff are absolutely wonderful. The other day we were attended to by Guiseppe who has been working there for many years, he is always so warm and friendly and knows exactly what are favourite choices are! We also receive a very warm welcome from the amazing chefs, Shiva and his colleagues are all so delightful and provide a first class service in every way. Thank you to all of them for giving us such a great experience!

Food was ok, but just warm. And the dessert was miniscule and so not worth money charged!

We stayed for starters through to coffee and it was an OK place for a late lunch. Difficult to get the attention of the Team sometimes. Food was tasty, a nice pizza, but not once were we checked back on. Highlight was the pizza and the twinnings tea!

Really, really disappointing. I made my way to the restaurant yesterday evening after an extremely long day at work. The restaurant was full of children running around, screaming and just making a lot of noise. Fine, I can handle that as it’s a family friendly place. What I can’t handle is the following. I ordered calamari rings for the starter and asked the waitress if the starter could come out with the main. After about 20 minutes of waiting, another waiter brings my starter to the table. I mentioned that I’d asked someone else that I’d like the starter to come with the meal. She responded, ‘yeah the main is coming.’ Surprise, surprise the main didn’t turn up for another 15 minutes. The calamari rings were burnt and overall disappointing. I ordered the carbonara as a main and even this had extremely burnt bits of spaghetti throughout. I complained to the original waitress who had served me (she had noticed that my starter and meal came separately and did sincerely apologise for that). Still paid a full bill which was just awful really considering I didn’t finish my starter and left the burnt bits of spaghetti in the bowl. I will not make my way back to this branch again. Visit this place with low expectations

The staff are just amazing. Really polite, friendly and accommodating. I come here really regularly and decided to try something new. I ordered king prawns and received tiny prawns that had been previously frozen. Completely full of water and tasteless. A huge disservice to call these king prawns and to charge £8. Inedible really. Such a shame.

Can never go wrong with Pizza Express. Quality is consistent, and I’ve always really liked their garlic bread. Restaurant is decent, service was good, and food was fresh and well cooked. Good value for money.
