We do/did regularly stay here but nowadays, i would be wary of them. A good hotel gone bad? possibly but it does need to be fixed or all that million pound plus refurb will go to waste. bad food good service = ok good food bad service = ok but bad food bad service = bust

Hotel was in need of significant upgrade. New owners have not investmented in the property. Hotel is understaffed and this was very poor experience

We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon tea. The staff was very accomodating of our children and was able to seat us much earlier than our reservation. The food was great, and we had plenty of extra treats on our tray to share.

Located within the Marine Hotel, Troon a pleasant atmosphere with in the Arran Bar aptly named because the hotel itself faces the island of Arran, tea was piping hot which to us is important with the usual offerings that you get when ordering afternoon tea.

I guess I would say the free wi fi was good, the service was average to basic, to pay the bill I stood for a good 10minutes hoping someone would come out of the kitchen, the place was a little stuffy, and unless you desperately need to eat a ton of cakes and watch really old people not talk to each other, then find somewhere a little more lively!

Had our Tea here one of the nights and it was a nice meal, in lovely surroundings and with a beautiful view. I had vision's of it being a very formal area but it turned out to be very relaxing and the prices were reasonable. I would return again

Still the same hotel, still the same extraordinary views, still a relaxing and unhurried atmosphere. So, what has changed. In my opinion the main difference is the friendliness of the staff. Probably the missing piece of the jigsaw. Had afternoon tea here yesterday and really enjoyed it. If you used to visit in the past and haven't been for a while, now is the time to return.

Overpiced, £20 for one roast beef and one cheese and tomato sandwiche, tea and Americano coffee. Service slow and apathetic.

Didn't go for the formal afternoon tea, but for soup and sandwiches. The waiter warned us that the sandwiches were large, so we shared one between two, which was sufficient for a light lunch. Don't understand why the bread is cut so thickly: each slice was easily an inch thick, which made for slightly awkward eating. Other than that everything was fine, and the service was excellent.

Fantastic high tea. Plentiful and well presented. Helpful happy staff. Had this as part of a Spa day and can only recommend. Only suggestion I have is less small cakes (2 is enough) and add an extra sandwich
