Fantastic food - freshly made and full of authentic flavour and spice. Options for vegetarians, vegans and omnivores. African beers too...and all served with good humour and a warm, relaxed atmosphere. It’s only small so best to book!

We were at Euston station and was looking for a place to eat . We stumbled on to this place on line , so we decided to take a leap and see. I had curried goat which was delicious and the meat fell off the bone . My partner had plantation beef-stew and both have jollof rice and a side of plantain. Both dishes were flavoursome. We award winning coconut sorbet and washed it down with Nigeria lager gilder. The place is decorated with African crafts. The waiter was very attentive and kind . I will recommend this place . The experience started with a food stained menu and disappointments continued with undercooked fish and other shabby dishes. The guy who runs this place is enthusiastic and fun but it is food and care that makes for a good meal. A disappointing and wasted evening.

Me and work colleagues went to lunch here, when we asked if the food was halal. the owner said that it was because he bought it from Dalston and everyone knew their food was halal. When we asked if there was a certificate, he said no. Very aggressive when explaining this to the table. our next question was if he took card, he said yes but one card to pay for the whole table. We explained that would not be happening as everyone was responsible for their bill, he was saying that we needed to pay cash than because he gets charged interest on every card. When half the table was ready to walk out, as everyone was feed up with his attitude he said we could pay by card. the food forty five minutes to heat and serve to our table of 9.

This is by far one of the best experiences we have ever had! It’s been a marathon of cuisines-after-cuisines! A proper “delicacy tour” of African delights! From art pieces to the food and service, twas surreal! As if the scenery wasn’t more than magical enough; (for me and my friends) the staffs were SO polite, we were greeted with utter joy whilst perusing through the interesting and very memorable menus from the “starters”, the “specialties”, “rice dishes”; “desserts”; main courses” et al.

I believe there are 2 fundamental boxes that need ticking when dining at any restaurant. 1. good food2. great serviceOf these two, "great service" is by far (in my opinion) the easiest and even the most cost effective (to the owner) to offer to anyone who walks through the restaurant's door. I received neither. In fact, the service I and my colleagues received soured my desire to eat. I have never met a restaurant owner who appeared to take pleasure in being rude, abrupt, and display such ineptitude at how to serve his customers. My Colleague: "Is your meat halal?"Owner: "I get my meat from Dalston market and everyone knows that it's only Muslim's that sell meat at Dalston market."My Colleague: "But you know you ought to have a certificate displayed on your door that indicates your meat is halal."Owner: "Well (whilst shrugging shoulder and gesticulating arms wildly), as I told you, I get my meat from Dalston and the sellers are all Muslim, so ...(shrugs shoulder)"The above is merely a taster of my experience with 10 other colleagues at this restaurant on Thursday January 10 2020.The experience was so unpleasant and awkward that the owner went to bring someone to come and tell all 11 of us how great his place is, even all 11 of us have literally just experienced a dreadful time under his service.Much more is to be said about the fact that we could all see that he was serving us meals from takeaway packs. It was by far the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant and I've been to some really crass places to eat in the past.Save your money and more importantly, save your sanity and avoid this shamble of an establishment.

Comida horrible y servicio grosero. Muy pobre, evitar a toda costa!

What a lovely little place! It feels like dining in a friend’s home, particularly as the owner serves himself, always with a smile. An explosion of tastes, and so many interesting things on offer, also some vegetarian dishes. Best do the Spanish thing and order a variety of dishes to share, so you can sample many! And if the owner would invest in a hot plate to keep the dishes warm on the table, it would even be better! It is really a small place, so best to book a table in advance.

From the moment I called to reserve a table, I knew it was going to be a fun experience. The owner / waiter / server / cook was welcoming and friendly. We were so surprised that the food was made so quickly despite him having a small kitchen. All three of us enjoyed our entrees: jerk chicken, chicken in coconut, and beef stew. We also ordered fried plantains as a starter and two servings of seasoned flavored rice was a good amount for the three of us.

My friend messaged me out the blue to say she's coming into Euston and could I meet her for dinner, trouble was I didn't know where would serve us last minute on a Friday without waiting hours. This place somehow popped up and I'm so glad it did. We both love trying new things especially as London can be so samey. Wasn't sure what to expect at first but in the end we felt like we were sitting in Akin's home while he brought us home cooked food. It's a small place but I noticed theres a large private room down some stairs which would be great for parties. Food was delicious and not too spicy but full of flavour. Completely stuffed in the end and we couldn't even finish it all! Will be returning soon hopefully.

I stumbled on this place with my son seeking an early dinner. We asked the owner, Akin, to recommend his favourites from the menu and he proposed the goat and beef curries. We ordered these along with rice (both types), plantains and black beans and enjoyed it all al fresco on the sidewalk, chit chatting with Akin throughout. He explained that the dishes were not just Nigerian but their own recipes, adapted, tweaked and interpreted over the years to achieve maximum deliciousness. To finish it off, he spooned generous dollops of fiery, home-made chilli paste on our plates to accentuate the dense, spicy richness of the stews. We then ordered home-fermented ginger beer (not fizzy) to douse out the fire on our palates. Sweet, fragrant and exotically perfumed, the cold drink (which bears no resemblance to products commercially labelled “ginger beer”) neutralised the spice and slaked our thirst. Making the entire meal all the more memorable, Akin was a warm and welcoming host, whose hospitality only underscored the dedication and commitment of the kitchen. This restaurant is a real gem for anyone who loves densely seasoned, hearty, home-cooked food with an exotic twist. We will be back the next time we find ourselves in the neighborhood of Euston station.

The food here is really delicious. At first I was a bit dubious about the microwave, but you can tell that the food was cooked fresh beforehand and just reheated in the microwave for serving. We weren’t sure how much rice to order, his response was that he would simply top it up if needed - not something you’d get in a chain restaurant! Another feature was the quality of the meat , which was top notch. The food is beautifully flavoured but not too hot or overly spicy. Really reasonable prices, 2 courses and 2 drinks for £30. It was all fantastic, yes it’s all warmed up in the microwave but it’s clearly all been slow cooked beforehand. We thought it was truly excellent and will return. One work of warning, the homemade ginger beer is not for the faint hearted but we were thoroughly warned by the friendly owner, it’s fabulous but like drinking fire! No tomes mi palabra, simplemente ir allí!

Quasi niente, a Londra.

! No puedo ver las señales! No son chinos. ! . ! !

Interesting concept of an art gallery doubling up as a restaurant. The art gallery element, is really a series of artefacts, (for sale), plastered over the walls.

I was a bit skeptical. Smelled a bit weird to me at first and the place was quite small. I was just completely stuck up with a resting bit$ch face but my god did the food bring me down from my stuck up horse. I take my imaginary hat off to the owner/cook/waiter/all in one of this place. Brilliant. Bloody brilliant.

The restaurant displays TripAdvisor certificates in the dining area, rightly proud of the well deserved accolades that led to them being issued. Our party took our hosts advice and shared a number of dishes - meat as well as vegetarian. Although the food tasted a bit too salty for some of us, the African and home made ginger beer helped. We had little room left for dessert but shared a mango flan. If African food is your thing, look no further and be prepared to experience friendly, professional hospitality from the hosts. The eating space is small so you may feel squashed. So allow yourself to be distracted by the amazing collection of wooden crafts including masks on sale. Or chat with fellow diners. It's that type of friendly eatery.

Owner created the right atmosphere. A lot of effort must have gone into the preparation of the unusual dishes. Interesting but may take some getting used to. A little salty for my taste but that is personal. Would have preferred plain rice to go with the special sauces on the meat.

A very small place, but not very busy as it's in a small side street. Been there twice, the food always tasty and full of flavours, affordable and the guys are very friendly. Also, the beer is quite cheap for London standards and they have homemade ginger beer!!

Absolutely divine, tiny little restaurant and gallery. No gimmicks, this place is the real deal. Antonio your host knows the story of every piece of art and the providence of the huge variety of food. Plantation beef stew, a robust beef stew with thick cinnamon sauce, an assortment of hyper healthy bean sides, lentils, spicy black beefs, the best jerk chicken I’ve had in the UK and the warm hug of a joloff rice.

Whenever I'm in central London I make sure to stop by for lunch or dinner. The food is cooked with love and attention and the service is wonderful. I could sit there all day and talk with Antonio. He is very friendly, helpful and always shares his wisdom.

Really fancied eating here but thought it was closed on a Monday - it wasn't, open in the evening. So chuffed we walked along Drummond St.

Love this place. Been there twice and food consistently really delicious! The goat stew, Jollof rice, lemon chicken and plantain were all lovely, great flavours! It is such a charming little place with only 4 / 5 tables, and filled with African masks all over the walls. Such a rare find in London, don't know anywhere else with this kind of food, and the decor is so cool! Very nice service and friendly management. Really recommend the Rioja!! Can't wait to go back.

I popped into here for lunch around 1:30pm today and whilst the owner could have been friendlier in greeting me (a smile doesn't hurt ya know), I appreciated him coming outside the restaurant to hand me my takeaway food where I had waited in the lovely sun for my order. The interior is quite small with only a couple of tables with lovely African sculptures all around. There is chalkboard of specials along with the regular menu. Sadly the sweet potato balls were sold out so I got the moin moin and the spinach stew. All together less than a tenner. There are four pieces of moin moin, which are just deliciously savoury. I recommend eating them with the nonspicy spinach stew with melon seed, which, whilst not delicious, was tasty and filling. It would be perfect on a cold winter night. If I was in the area, I would return just for the moin moin!

Was staying in the area and came across this restaurant and we were so pleased. Really tasty homemade food. Didn't get round to taking a photo as we ate it too quickly!! Really friendly service and god choice, apart from the dessert which was either banana flan, mango flan or pumpkin flan. Maybe we should have tried it but we were full from the main course.

Only a few tables but a very enjoyable dining experience serving genuine jerk chicken rice and peas. The owner could not be more helpful and all of the food is simple and well made.

We went to this restaurant following a decision to stay in London the night before my admission to hospital. There are very few restaurants where you get honest and home made food that tastes devine. The choice of drinks also truly compliment the food.We had a beef stew and the chicken casserole and both were full of so much flavour. The sweets were Truly scrumptious also.If you want a truly tasty meal with honest, warm and genuine hospitality where the cost will be cheaper than any plastic food you get in a chain restaurant. One word describes this place - beautiful!Thank you.

The food is a nice discovery. It's tasty and prepared with love for a very fair price. You will sit surround by African Art which makes the whole experience a bit more special. And the cherry on the cake, the 2 owners are very nice!

This cosy little gem of a restaurant provided a delightful "first taste" to this novice to African cuisine. Generous portions of the exotically-flavoured lamb with date stew on a bed of delicately aromatic rice washed down well with a glass of African beer. Refreshing to add something new and original to my culinary palette. Very good value in a city not usually known for economical dining experiences.

Oh what a lovely find. We were walking along Drummond Street to find one of the Indian restaurants that this little street is known for, and to our surprise stumbled upon the "African Gallery Kitchen". One look inside and I was hooked… such an interesting collection of African art on the walls and the atmosphere in this unique and charming little restaurant was a magical and comforting experience. We ordered a recommendation of the day, which was just as well since we knew little about African food -Thoroughly delicious and I hope it's on the menu next time because we are certainly going to make this little gem a regular visit.. Thank you for making this visit a memorable and magical experience.

Went there for lunch, after seeing a very good review. The place is so much better than any description ! Feels really inviting, filled with collection of African art. Food was delicious, rich but not overpowering spices. Home made ginger beer (as pictured) was a highlight! The owner, Antonio, on hearing we are planning a trip there, accompanied each dish with stories and advice. Definitely going back!

We visited this restaurant with high hopes. The reviews were great, the decor outstanding and the menu varied. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. We really wanted to love it. And yet. The food was average: reheated in a microwave in full display. The ginger beer was undrinkable. The service was rude, though swift. That wouldn't prompt me to write a review. What did was a simple request for tap water. Licensed premises such as this are required by law to provide free potable water on request. I asked three times. Each time I was told I could buy Evian or Perrier. Twice I was told that the water was not drinkable. I gave up. Who do I call? Was the local water supply polluted? In which case, how were they serving food? (I didn't see them using the Evian to wash the dishes). Or was there potable water available but they just wanted to rip me off?I don't know, but I'm not going back.

Terrible. Terrible staff. Terrible service. Awful quality food. And the prices are astronomical. £30 for disgusting fish soup. Inedible rubbish. Avoid!
