Lovely meal again at the acorn, steak cooked to perfection. Kids loved their chicken nuggets. So much food choice and great atmosphere. My dog loved the free treats from the bar. Staff warm and welcoming as ever. Will go back again of course.

Brilliant atmosphere, family friendly and the food was lovely, served hot and quickly. I had kebab, and it was much better than any from a takeaway.

New to Nuneaton we made a booking online for Sunday lunch - expecting a roast as advertised on the website. When we arrived we were obviously unexpected but given menus. We weren't asked if we wanted to order drinks. There was no one inside, no one eating although tables outside were taken. We made alternative choices from the menu and I asked at the bar if I could order some food. I was met with puzzled looks from 2 young men from behind the bar. I asked about soup choices, more puzzled looks which prompted me to ask if they really were serving food. A couple of shrugs and silly giggles convinced me we'd made a bad mistake in booking. We left. We will not return. Luch at Ego, Nuneaton was a much more civilised affair with great service and good food.

Brilliant place , winter months open fires going , summer month all windows open , plus they have a lovely beer garden to sit in , food is absolutely lovely wide range of food on the menu you can choose from

Visited for my birthday. My son has coeliac disease so it’s really nice to find somewhere that has a full gluten free menu rather than searching through all the things he can’t have and to see such an extensive menu including burgers, chips and amazing deserts was fantastic and really made my sons evening. Our table was reserved and clearly labelled when we arrived and all the staff were super friendly - the chef even came out to check everything was ok and he reassured us about the gluten free. My son’s new favourite place to eat and he keeps asking to go back! It’s great to see all the offers and entertainment too!

Have been a few times. Laura and the team are so lovely and accommadating. My kids love it too, always great for families and entertainment like monthly discos and events like Acornival are fantastic. Foods great and value for money, Sunday roasts are a sell out so always get there early!

Visited the acorn easter friday for some food - what was supposed to be an hours visit ended up staying all night. The food was great, the atmosphere was very enjoyable as they had a disco & karaoke! Great pub, great staff. Terrible hangover tho 🤕

Brilliant family pub, me and my partner had a mix grill, cooked to perfection! Plenty of space for our little one, and was a nice little touch with the open fire.

Went here with the little football team poppys fc u6 christmas party. They hosted this absolute perfect. Food came out really quick. And fresh. Food was perfect for me. And staff and owners was polite. Would recommend to anyone worth the 20 mins drive.

Public house situated on outskirts of town. Interior is dark, but service is very friendly. Limited menu, but food is good and portions are generous.

We have visited this establishment on more than one occasion and every time have received the best service. The manageress is always very polite and it's clear that the procedures in place are working. We felt very safe without it being overbearing. We will be back again in a few weeks! Thank you!

I visited this pub early this evening with my partner who waited outside whilst I bought the drinks. I put on my mask & joined the queue leading into the bar area but realised I was literally the only person wearing a mask & had other people coming close behind me & not observing the safe distance rule. Once inside it became clear that there was no enforcement of people wearing a mask whilst ordering & paying for their drinks at the bar counter. There were smallish screens up but the one I was served at wasn't very wide & people were trending to stand to the side of them when ordering. Yes, I realise some people are exempt from wearing masks but 11 people standing around in close proximity at the same time all being exempt...I think not.I did ask the barman why they weren't enforcing the wearing of masks rule for people at the bar itself (not those already seated & drinking/eating) & though polite he didn't seem too sure about the policy.Anyway, the end result is that we won't go back there whilst Covid is about because whilst they may have put safety measures in place they are useless unless they are being enforced & they clearly are not.

Out of the blue it was suggested we dine at the Acorn. I and my brother had chicken tikka curry with naan. poppadoms boiled rice and a dip. Excellent food. The rest of the table had steak, gammon and beefburger and every one cleaned their plates. Service was quick and the waiting staff were very attentive. Wouldn't hesitate recommending this eatery to any one.

I saw a poster in the pub for the New Year’s Eve children’s party. This was advertised as being from 3-6pm, I turned up at 3.20 and there was no music nor entertainment for the children. We stayed for over an hour thinking that something may happen...nothing did. If the party was cancelled they should have advertised this. I ended up with 4 disappointed children and felt very annoyed myself. Why advertise that you are having an event but do absolutely nothing to support it.

Been visiting the Acorn most weeks since we moved in nearby in March. Have to say the poor reviews are unfair. Another decent meal today. Not sure what some people think they will get for the money. Good variety on the menu and always get a well cooked reasonably priced meal. Good atmosphere in the pub and always plenty of bar staff on hand.

Came for a meal this afternoon with my two sons and it was fantastic. The staff were really friendly and drinks were a decent price. The boys had food off the kids menu and the girl behind the bar, Laura,let me know their drinks were included in the price. Result seems they were fruit shoots. I had the fish chips and mushy peas. Great portion and fish was really flavoursome. I dont usually leave reviews but this trip deserves one. Well done Acorn. We will be back.

We decided this year to eat out for Christmas Day as a treat and I cannot express enough what a poor choice that was. From beginning to end,the experience at the Acorn has been poor and un organised. The staff did there best in the day which I fully appreciate but were obviously stretched as there were only three of them serving. From the beginning, it was clear that there was a lack of organisation. We tried to pay our deposit but could not do this online and had to call the pub. No problem. Apart from the staff not knowing how to do this and having to call back to let us know the card payment had gone through as they were not sure it had at the time. Then a while later, I had an email telling me to pay the deposit or I would lose my booking. Queue another call to check they had the payment we had made previously. We arrived on Christmas Day and stood around, waiting to be seated. Eventually we grabbed a member of staff who had no idea what was going on and went looking for a lady in charge. She seated us and proceeded to explain that as we had not pre ordered our food, we could have a limited menu as everything was frozen. This was very disappointing as we had been in contact with the pub beforehand and pre ordering food was never mentioned. They said they tried to call us but with two contact numbers and an email address, contact was not made. It was lunchtime in Christmas Day and without any other options available, we decided to stay. There were options from the standard menu offered to us for starters and deserts which was appreciated and the starters came out really quick. The mains took longer but we thought this was because one of our party had ordered steak. Then turkey dinners came out for all of us. We sent the waiter back for the steak as we had only ordered four turkey dinners and he promptly returned telling us there was no steak left. The turkey was great but the dinner was cold, one so cold it had to be sent back and reduced one of our already frustrated party to tears. The potatoes and parsnips were a mixture of soggy and burnt and the rest of the veg undercooked to the point of being inedible. We could clearly see a lot of food going back in plates around us. To say there was a pig in blanket on the plate was a joke as it was so tiny. One was so burnt that I am surprised it was allowed out of the kitchen and another was requested. We had to ask for further drinks, but that waiter was unable to take the order so had to fetch someone else and through the meal, no glasses were collected making the table crowded and cluttered. On the plus side, dessert was great, but we had paid for four courses and the chocolate final desert never came. At this point we gave up. The bill was adjusted to take our two rounds of drinks off which was a lovely gesture from the staff, but I would have much rather paid full price and had a better experience with all the courses provided. To say that I am disappointed with this meal is an understatement. If you do not have the capability to provide the service offered then you should not offer it. As a frustrated, upset and angry customer, I will not return to the pub again.

Decided to go here for Christmas dinner, vegetables were raw, could barely cut the Brussel sprouts, and how do you mess up cooking peas seriously?! Roast potato’s and parsnips were soggy it was like they were kept in a tray for a while before serving. Turkey was nice and tender, food was not hot, ended up only eating the potato’s and turkey. Won’t be back.

This is a pub I use fairly often for drinks but have never eaten there until the other night when we needed a quick meal.The menu is standard pub food at normal pub prices.Our meals were good and at the price what would be expected.Wouldn't be my go to pub for a meal but it did what we needed.Still a great place for a drink!!
