AC Hotel by Marriott Birmingham in Birmingham

Stayed here over the weekend and it was great! A lovely lady named Orchid helped check us in - gave us a room upgrade and made sure we had everything we needed, she was amazing! Hotel has great features like an in house cafe and gym which were both nice. Our room was cleaned by Aine in a great condition and the location was central to everything we needed. Will 100% stay again!!

I recently stayed at the AC Hotel in Birmingham. The hotel is in a fantastic location, which made it very convenient for exploring the city. Check-in was perfect, thanks to Taiar, who was very friendly and welcoming. I forgot to ask about a late checkout during check-in, but the next day, I approached the reception around noon. Taiar arranged a 3 PM checkout for me very quickly and was extremely helpful, making sure I didn’t feel like I was a bother. The Black Sheep Cafe in the lobby was a nice touch for grabbing a coffee, and the gym looked well-equipped, although I didn’t get a chance to use it. However, the room itself could use some updating. The coffee machine in my room wasn’t working, and some of the power sockets didn’t function, which was inconvenient. The sofa looked worn and not up to the standard you’d expect. Overall, it’s a functional place to stay for a night, but some improvements would go a long way.

Very nice, centrally located hotel. We had a canal view that was nice and it was very close to restaurants and shopping. Talar was very helpful.

Quick overnight stay while visiting for John Legend concert… location was perfect. Service was wonderful. Talar (front desk receptionist) was so welcoming and helpful. Next time we’re in Birmingham, we’ll definitely choose to stay here!

Very good, Talar is a very nice person

Bit difficult to enter, but overall, great service and a good experience. The sofa in the room was 20 years old and worn out, otherwise the room was very good.

Me and my wife visited our honeymoon friends and upon checking-in, it was definitely 1st class and friendly (plus we even was offered a free king size room upgrade) so it was definitely a good stay. Unfortunately (and hence the 4*star), we were stuck in their recommended QPark (Mailbox) due to a marathon taking place next day and roads being closed off for 3hrs and bare in mind, we wasn't advise while checking in (not the person's fault tbh) that there was a marathon as there was zero advertisements around the area. So this ruin our stay unfortunately... Besides that, room was a good size and very clean and service was very accommodating.

Came here to work with my friend in the lobby and use the business lounge offer (unlimited coffee, pastry and toastie) and the service from Rogerta was just incredible. It's like she could read our minds. Super friendly and kind, going above and beyond. I'm a local but I'd stay for her alone! The lobby area is also absolutely stunning!

Had a very enjoyable stay at the AC Hotel friendly helpful staff especially Talar on reception also great location for restaurants shopping and leisurely canal walks.

I have to come to Birmingham a lot for work and this is my first choice hotel. Excellent Customer Service - a special shout out for Talar who makes you feel welcome and valued from the moment you check in. The rooms are excellent and so well serviced. Couldn’t fault it, well done.

We spent a night at this hotel, and one of the highlights was the reception staff. Talar, who was at the front desk, was incredibly helpful and welcoming. She definitely made a lasting impression. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, and I highly recommend this hotel.

First time at this hotel for me. Everything in the room is very clean and fresh and the staff member Talar was so helpful and friendly when I booked in and also told me about discounts I could get in the coffee shop and parking and she also accommodated my late checkout for the next day. I will definitely come and stay again.

Amazing location! We really enjoyed our stay here and just want to say a massive thank you to the staff. Upheld amazing customer service from the reception team to housekeeping, never a bother to ask for extra pillows or water. Excellent selection on breakfast items, Spanish omelette is a must to try! The buffet selection is a standard but orders on request is where it’s at. We also really enjoyed Black Sheep coffee. The team is warm and welcoming and even when it’s the rush hour, they laugh and crack jokes- as someone who also works in hospitality I loved seeing the team spirit! Though I’m a bit disappointed that the black sheep area is also contaminated by laptop users- we also have this issue :( we would of loved to sit and enjoy our coffee but every chair was taken. We hope to return soon and get to enjoy a coffee without the stock traders and uni students next to us. Overall, 10/10 experience but I know that next time will be even better!

Saved the day! After being booked at The Cube for the evening we arrived for check in and were told there was no hot water so ventured out to find somewhere else! We were greated by Talar and Orkhed who couldn’t be more than helpful and apologetic for the service we had recieved from the other venue! Upgraded our room and made sure that we were happy with everything! Overall amazing service and amazing first impressions, think we have found our new regular hotel when in Birmingham! Thank you again!

Loved my stay here! The hotel was amazing – one of the best in Birmingham. The staff were so welcoming and the room was clean and super comfy. Plus, it's in a great spot near the train station and the arena. Definitely my new favourite in the city! PS - don’t miss out on breakfast!

Met a friend and family in the reception / lounge area . They were staying in the hotel . Great lounge with complimentary hot drinks. Lots of space to work also.

It is a bit of a mix review from my side. People working there really nice and friendly, location very close to the station, hotel is modern and the room was quite big with a decent bathroom. Main issue was that the heating was super noisy and could not regulate easily, so it became super hot and I had the keep the front door open for 30 minutes and then kept the heating off all jgjt while it was minus degrees outside. The other huge disappointment was the breakfast, with dry old sausages, dry and overcooked scramble eggs and low quality bread. Price was fair.

Lovely hotel, basic but nice. However the breakfast was abysmal, there was no hot food, everyone was waiting. when the food did come out it was cold. So requested fresh eggs, for them to be brought out with loads of shell in them. Everyone around us was moaning about the food. Very disappointing, then to be told that as it was booked as a package through booking.com they couldn't offer a refund for the food which we couldn't eat. Very odd, finally we got them to offer a refund, but we still haven't heard if it's gone through. Not alot of money but it's the principle. Also the noise from out side at night is soooo loud.

The location is great in the center of Birmingham at the Mailbox shopping center. Stayed here to go to an Aston Villa match. Hotel is 10 minute walk to the New Street station and only a couple stops to the Aston station. Only negative is that parking is offsite. Recommend parking at the Q Park Mailbox. When going in the parking entrance, drive to the back end of the garage and try to find a spot. There is a structure in the back with a green sign where the elevator is located. Go up to floor 3 of the shopping center and you will be at the canal side entrance of the shops. When looking out this entrance, the hotel will be to the left…you can’t miss it.

We didn't stay there. But we went for my fiancé birthday breakfast. We hadn't been for a while and it was fantastic!! Amazing staff, food fresh lived the pancakes. Very accommodating to our little 3 year old granddaughter, they her a special baby size chocolate. They allowed her to play chess. Surprise pancakes for fiancés birthday too. It's a must cost for a special breakfast, or just to go and relax on a weekend morning. Hope to go back soon!!! Thank you AC Marriott x

It's a great hotel in a prime location. We had a view over the Gas Street Basin. The service was 2nd to none, and the room was excellent.

George and Abbey at the bar were absolutely amazing, kind and attentive, loved being served by them! Didn't have many expectations when I stopped by for a drink, now I'm glad I went, and will definitely come back :)

Excellent place for the asking price. The staff is friendly and responsive. The room is clean and tidy. I really liked that the staff leaves a welcome note after cleaning.

A great room with a nice view of the canal and Mailbox entrance. You couldn't get a better location in my opinion to the Cubec and surrounding areas. The front of house staff were very friendly and helpful as too were the other staff around the hotel. The entrance is kept clean and is modern as too was our room. We didn't have much shower gel in our bathroom, luckily I had brought some with me anyway so no big deal. We had a great breakfast, although some the items look somewhat dried out but this is minor detail which I'm sure is all dependent as to when one goes for breakfast. On a more note, the lady at breakfast was very friendly and accomodating and took my breakfast order for two poached eggs which were perfect! Thanks to all the staff around the hotel for the great service and all done with a welcoming smile. A nice fuss free stay wih lovely staff. We hope to see you again soon. Thank you 👍🏼
