Very enjoyable meal, felt a bit rushed at the end with all tables needed for new customers. The staff were extremely apologetic and explained the issue was due to Eid. All the customers and staff were brilliant.

Incredibly disappointed with the quality and service. This restaurant has really gone down hill. Shawarma was bland, mezze were just reheated and hard. Tea had no taste. The toilets were disgusting. I really don’t post reviews but I was so upset with this place!

Friendly staff, great food, nice atmosphere, very accommodating to specific requests.

Shame on you, we just finished dinner. The couscous with lamb tasted off, we complained about it and still was put on the bill. One waiter dropped many plates and the floor and scared my baby, she didn’t even say sorry or anything. Meat overall (chicken and lamb) was old.

First visit today to Abu Zad Restaurant, God willing, the service is excellent, the food is clean, and the place is a sophisticated style of the staff. Today we tried grills, Moroccan tagine, mandi, and maqluba. All the food is beyond description. It is truly one of the best restaurants I have visited in London.

Worst couscous of my life - it has actually absolutely nothing to do with the Moroccan dish. I ordered on Uber Eats, and I think they would not have dared serve me this if I was actually in the restaurant. I could not eat this obviously, it was a mix of random vegetable bathing in water - not even the ones you would expect in a couscous.

A beautiful venue with a very useful semi-private area for events. The facilities were great with a private sound system and the service by Adnan and his team was second to none - they really went the extra mile to accommodate us. Needless to say, the food was delicious.

Lovely Saturday lunch with family and friends. Wonderful food - outstanding tabbouleh, humus with lamb and chicken. We ordered too much but it was all eaten. Would go again!

We were really excited to try their food but we were turned down upon arriving 40 minutes before their closing time, only to be told that they already closed! We pointed out to the time, the fact that people are still eating and that we will order wraps which can be prepared and ate quickly! Still the same answer was given… Maybe update your closing time both on Google and your door sign!

Arrived here 9.50pm! we were told that it’s already closed! Despite the listed opening hours says it does close 10.30pm!

We reserved this spot as a group in advance and we weren't disappointed! The service was great, we stayed for a few hours and we were served hot and fresh food with a smile. I highly recommend this place. 😃

We took the share-platter for two and got some good meze with hummus, bread and salad, all good. We were full but just said to each other that it could've been a bit more for around 40 £. Well, that's when a waiter came with a HUGE plate of mixed, grilled meats (plus rice and chips). We thought there was a mistake as we hadn't ordered it but it belonged to the shared platter. We did what we could and the meat was delicious but were far from finishing. So, be prepared, it's a lot and really value for money. I think that at least 3 people can get stuffed with that and I'm a good eater. Staff is friendly, place is nice and clean. Would come back!

Wow! True authentic Middle Eastern cuisine. Perfectly flavoured, the most succulent chicken I’ve had in London.. it reminded me of the quality of food in the Middle East! I cannot wait to go back and visit this place. Homely and beautiful decor and aesthetic, 5 star food and hygiene rating, and wonderful prompt friendly service! So yummy. A must visit if you’re in the area! We were so pleased with all of our dishes and the lovely lemon and mint drink as well. Everything was so fresh and tender. Perfectly seasoned and cooked. there are so many middle eastern restaurants in shepherd’s bush and i randomly picked this one out because i liked the casual/familial atmosphere. it turned out to be a great and affordable place! my tab was only £25 pounds for two coffees, a coke, the cold mezze platter, and the spicy potatoes. the batata haras tasted delicious, and i was impressed by the service. the moussaka was a bit bland but the other food was delicious

so delicious and huge portions. shakriyah is such a treat and stand out imo. lovely tabbouleh and kibbeh. fresh mint tea at the end of the meal is the perfect way to wrap up. very kind and helpful staff.

Went here today with the family. We ordered a lot of food. I was so excited for the chicken mendi. Unfortunately the chicken tasted extremely old. At least a day old. Maybe even two. I asked 3 people at the table to check if I was exaggerating and they too agreed it was old chicken. It's sad because the rest of the food , grilled meat, soup, salads, chips were all tasty. Don't let your restaurant standards down by serving customers old meat please. I definitely will not be buying chicken from you again...

Amazing authentic Syrian food. Myself and my work colleagues thoroughly enjoyed each course and it was a bargain paying £17 each between the 7 of us for 3 starters and 3 mains, plus drinks and a dessert! They even gave us an extra dessert on the house 😊

Authentic Arabic food with decent prices and good quality 👌🏻

I recently had the best food experience at Abu Zaad in London, where the Syrian-Arabian dishes left me thoroughly impressed. Highly Recommend the Farrouj meshwi (grilled baby chicken) with rice. It is very good!. The chicken shawarma wrap is below average though, and it’s small. Other than that the BBQ grills are the best.

OMG !!! This is one of my favourite restaurants in London. My friend and I are regulars and love their Abu Zaad Farrouj chicken dish... We live outside of London and come all the way into London just for Abu Zaad. Highly recommended The service is amazing and very responsive. Their Muhallabia desert is to die for Well done and Thank you Abu Zaad... We're on our way tonight !!!

Abu Zaad has been serving us delicious, wholesome, Syrian meals for many years. Food is consistently good, fresh, delish! Staff are friendly and attentive. The restaurant is cosy and in a great location. I love this place and it never lets us down 🩷

We come here often. The food is yummy and substantial and good value. They provide excellent service and we have received some complimentary desserts also. I tried the moussaka today. Fresh, hot and delicious! Lots of aubergine and chickpeas in a rich sauce. I often go for the grilled baby butterflied chicken with chips. Again wholesome and delicious with zingy condiments of freshly made garlic and chilli sauces.

I haven’t had the chance to try their food, but when I went there, they asked if I have reserved and I haven’t so they told us to wait and they will make a table ready for us. We’ve waited for so long and then they told us that they don’t welcome anyone unless they reserve beforehand. So why did you let us wait then? To see if anyone cancel so you can serve us by then? Unacceptable to me and will never go back again.

Really enjoyed dinner here. Had a nice selection of mezze and the kabseh as a main course, which was a giant lamb shank with a generous portion of spiced rice. Hummous shawerma was good, and the complimentary mohullabia for dessert was DELICIOUS - like a panna cotta with pistachio, rose and date syrup. Come here if you're looking for a hearty, tasty meal. This was my first taste of Damascene food, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'll definitely be back.

We were positively surprised in every aspect. Friendly service, fast meals, surprise deserts and most importantly... Excellent quality food. We had a Moutabal as starter (massive! Easily for two) and delicious lamb tajin & Makloba for mains. Cannot recommend more

Abu zaad, shepherd’s Bush restaurant serves the best food ever.. Very delicious dishes, I have almost tried all of the dishes they serve and each time I get amazed by the quality. Very generous with the food Managers are very kind and lovely people. “Hamza” the waiter is very friendly and professional. I love this restaurant and it will always be my favourite place to eat in.

Was a lovely service and very tasty food

Food quality was poor compared years ago Couldn't eat the starter and sent back but still appeared on the bill. Dry chicken with the shish Taouk and shawarma.

Amazing food and amazing service.

We've been to Abu Zaad numerous times over the years and unfortunately this time we noticed a clear decline in quality, portions as well as overall feel within the restaurant. We ordered various starters (Fatoush, Hummos with meat, kibbeh, and baba ganoush) and overall they were OK but really nothing special nor satisfying. Additionally, we had the lamb in yoghurt sauce which we didn't like at all. Although the lamb had a good consistency the sauce was too fluid and lacked taste. The second main was a Mixed grill for one person which was mostly a few pieces of meat with more bread and again lacked any appeal or specialty. In the end overall the price for 4 people was cheap around £20 considering that we had 4 startes & 2 mains as well as a few juices good price - quantity ratio but quality certainly lacking. To sum, there will be other restaurants which will provide a better quality for a similar price - we won't be returning.

Food was okay, I wish it was a bit nicer! The staff were amazing and the service was great. It was just the food that was a bit average! I’m hoping it’s a one off or because of a busy service as they were super nice.

We recently ordered a whole lamb for a function from the Abu Zaad branch in Shepherd’s Bush. The lamb was lovely and cooked perfectly. It was accompanied by (quite a lot of) rice which sat underneath the lamb. We were told it would also come with a nut and raisin garnish, while there were cashews, we added raisins and mulberries ourselves. When you order the whole lamb it also comes with salad and humus. They say the lamb is enough for at least 20 people, but the salad and humus you receive is certainly not. A very small portion of salad and humus, perhaps enough for six or seven guests. So if you’re planning on ordering this, prepare your own sides. We paid £290, you get £40 back when you return their tray. All in all, it’s an impressive centre piece for any feast, but I’d re recommend you prepare other dishes to accompany it.

Went here to have a nice meal. We were ushered to a table very close to other customers and were pressured to sit there. We did try and sit at another table to give us and the other people more space, but the waitress was adamant that we sat directly behind the other customers. It was not busy in the restaurant and so many other tables were available to choose from. I sat down and got up immediately as the chair was saturated, which had gone through my bottoms to my underwear. The waitress was so rude. She asked what was wrong, and when I explained the chair was wet, she did not apologise, did not even get me some napkins. I gathered as many napkins as I could and tried to wipe to see what the substance was. Luckily, it was not body fluid! To add insult to injury, the waitress brought over the wipes you would wipe your hands with before you eat, gave it to the person I was with, and walked away. I was totally shocked at their lack of response to what had happened. Extremely rude, and I am glad they never received my customs, and they never will.
