Tuvimos una experiencia tan encantadora, el personal era tan encantador e increíble! ¡Grita a Nuca y Ana!

¡Voy a volver!

The food and service was 10/10! We tried red Georgian wine for the first time and it was delicious (I usually hate red wine). The waiters are super friendly, the atmosphere is homely and warming without feeling over crowded.

There are not many Georgian restaurants about so had to try aba ra. The menu here is dumplings, soups and khachapuri (cheese filled bread). Since, I have already tried kinkali dumplings elsewhere, I got the Chakapuli lamb soup. Chakapuli is a soup made with stewed lamb, unripe sour plums, tarragon, and herbs. Here they include a chilli which makes it moreish but if you have an allergy to green chillis then you are buggered. Anyway, this soup was amazing as it was really flavourful especially with tarragon. The sour plums went well with tarragon just like lemon and tarragon pairing. The bread on top is also the star of the show because when you put it in the soup, it does not go soggy but still has that chew to it. Eating the bread on its own is a bit like pizza base that is chewy. It was relatable to Persian food because the sour plum element is similar to dried limes. It also reminds me of Shaanxi lamb soup where they put stale pieces of pitta to soften it up and make it more wholesome.

This place is fantastic - we had never had Georgian food before so had no idea what to expect. The food was delicious, the staff were so friendly and helpful, and the venue itself has a really nice atmosphere. I'd recommend it without hesitation - definitely check it out if you're around Brick Lane.

First time having Georgian food and wine, and the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating! Delicious!! Khachapuri with Spinach, Beef khinkali, and a starter of Salad Megruli. The wine is dense, rich and the ideal accompaniment to the food!

I feel compelled to write a review after the awesome service, food & wine we got at this restaurant at the weekend. We arrived very late to the restaurant and they were so accommodating. They explained the menu, recommended so delicious red wine and were very patient with us trying to sort out the bill. We were even given bottles of water on our way out.. I should not forget to mention how tasty the food was.. so fresh and full of lovely flavours. If you find yourself on Brick Lane and don't fancy a curry head to this place. It will be worth your while.

After having lived as an expat in Georgia and experiencing this wonderful cuisine first hand, I have tried almost every Georgian place in London, with no avail. I was craving Georgian and got a khachapuri and badrijani to take out and my they did not disappoint!! Super authentic flavours that took me right back to Tbilissi. Added to that, the owners were so very lovely and accommodating. The gentleman offered me some pear lemonade while I waited, very authentic and would recommend along with tarragon lemonade. Well worth a visit if you’re looking for a Georgian feast, or keen to try something new. Definitely going back to try the khinkali - thank you!!

What a lovely little restaurant. The food was delicious and very filling. The staff were lovely and the soft drinks new and unusual (to us) but still very tasty. Tarragon lemonade is very green! The only mildly disappointing thing was that we were too full to try the desserts. We’d definitely go again if we’re in the area.

I’ve been on a bit of a mission to try Georgian cuisine for awhile and when hubby asked what I wanted to do for my birthday “Georgian restaurant” was on the list (along with a particular perfume shop and having a proper whisky sour). I set an itinerary, and Aba Ra was the place I chose for lunch due to proximity to other things I wanted to do, ease of getting to, and reputation/reviews. What a wonderful choice it was! The food and the service were both excellent, and thankfully they succeeded in meeting my expectations (which had built up over about a year of thinking Georgian food was the next item I needed to tick on my foodie journey). The crepe rolls were just stunning in flavour, and I finally got to sink my teeth into an ajarski khachapuri. Delicious! My only complaint is that they aren’t closer to where I live. 😊

This Georgian restaurant in Brick Lane was a fantastic find. It hasn't been open long but the venture deserves every success. The decor is lovely, the service is beyond excellent and the food is so good that the word delicious doesn't do it credit. The wonderful cooking smells hit you as you walk through the door, the food is beautifully presented, and it tastes every bit as good as it looks. The wines aren't half bad either. Add to that the food being served with a smile and hopefully that's a recipe for the success that the hard working family that run it deserve. Definitely worth seeking out if you're in the area.

I recommend Aba Ra! more than highly: everyone should take the chance to delight in such delicious food prepared from the heart and served with charm & in generous and flavour packed portions by Ana, an ever helpful, & ever smiling waitress. All the best things in life, .i.e. vegetables, pulses, nuts and spices are shown here at their best, aubergine´s true greatness was made evident, & an egg on top of a dish adds espectacular luxury. Thank you to all involved, Andy & I had a brilliant time with you, and we´ll be back I promise, love Catherine.

The place itself is beautiful, with a stunning view and a super pleasant atmosphere, complemented by lovely background music. The only downside was one of the staff members at the entrance, who honestly made the experience uncomfortable. First, she told us we couldn’t place a small table outside on the terrace—even though other people had one—rather than welcoming us or helping us settle in. Then, when we moved inside, she saw us sit down and immediately told us we had to leave in 20 minutes. We explained we had a reservation, and instead of simply checking, she started questioning us until another staff member confirmed it. I genuinely don’t understand the point of her role—she didn’t welcome us, didn’t try to make us comfortable, and only interrupted us. What was she even there for?

I've photographed weddings here a few times now... It's one of the best venues I've been to. The staff are so amazing and friendly, they really look after their suppliers. The wedding breakfast room is a perfect combo of industrial and high end but still has a cool edge to it with its white brick and metal frames. I would like to that the staff at the venue for being so lovely to me and I cant wait to be back again.

Beautiful place, myself and my partner went for a morning coffee and breakfast while staying in Bethnal Green and sat inside to eat. The coffee was great, the focaccia we had was so tasty, and I don’t know what anyone who says the staff ignores those they don’t know is talking about. We’ve never been here before but we came in and got served almost immediately.
