Favourite chippy in west end.. love the food such variety on the menu. Staff are very friendly defo worth a visit if you’re in the area !

Worst experience ever about 45 mins wait for order if not longer. Service was shocking. Food was not good when I was there to pick up . Was poor quality and expensive. They have drivers in and out picking up orders and they weren't happy on wait as one of the staff was useless and other was no better. Everyone do not to go there find a better chippy.

Went to this chippy omg it’s the worst fish n chips I ever had ,I don’t know how had to get this food wrong it’s not that tricky to make,so if any one wants u can try but I already gave a heads up🤮👎 even my dog didn’t eat it how sad,this business should be closed

Disgusting vile food don't even deserve zero stars I ordered from them through deliveroo two mixed chippy chip and a burger the meat came weird and soggy it was beyond meat beyond disgusting, the burger was defrosted and the cheese on the salad!!!! There prices were inflated yet I don't even know what kind of kebab meat was that, it was a weird texture just kept violently vomiting, gave me food poisoning and massive diarrhea, just don't go for cheap food!

Massive portion of chips, huge fish, both hot and delicious . Standard prices for fish and chips these days (ouch, my wallet!). They managed to complete my last minute just before closing order before shutting up shop. I don't recommend ordering just before they close though.

Went in tonight for fish and chips , served by a lovely lady (think she was new) food was brilliant and service was wonderful. staff where very polite and they all knew what they where doing.

To be fair last time I was here was a good 8 years ago and food was just ok....Went recently and they are under new management fish&chips was spot on would defo come back again.

Been here to order a pizza but not happy with way you speak to me clearly guy with funny hair is not happy about many things that go wrong in his life. 2nd thing is sause is missing. How can something simple like tub of sause you forget?.. 2 star because that other indian guy looks professional and repeat order back properly.

A bit on the expensive side for fish and chips but ok.

I will 100% not order from here again, the food came after ordering thru ubereats , with a potion of chips missing , and a large curry sauce missing ... that was for starters then I don't know about some people but me personally don't like eating a chippy without batter so requested a bag of batter on the comments of the order ... none came , I rang the shop to say items were missing and all they can say its uber eats mistake so go thru them , how can a shop who cooked prepares and packs your order blame the driver of a company when all he's hired for is to take food from A to B how can it be his fault items were missing ? How can it be his fault notes arnt read from the team who's in preparing the food ? The person in fact 2 people I spoke to pass the buck onto the uber eats driver and even became cheeky when I repeatedly said its your shop yous prepare the food so the blame lies ther not with a delivery service , I had to put phone down in the finish as he was making me so angry by nor understanding my frustration

Staff are Very Friendly but go early as some of the food is reheated and the Pizzas are very Greasy but overall it's just your Normal Fish shop.

Actually, I don't know why this Chippy doesn't achieve better reviews. We had 2 x Fish & Chips and 1 x Fish Bite & Chips last night. It was a Sunday (not many Chippies open on Sundays). All three were piping hot, all three were very good portions, all three were full of flavour and, for once, every single chip was well seasoned with salt; even the ones under the sizeable pieces of fish. The Fish Bites were also a very good size. Each of us agreed it was the tastiest Fish Supper we'd had in a long, long time. We were travelling through Newcastle/Fenham on our way up north into Scotland. We needed to be well fed to continue our journey, and we were. Would definitely try A1 Chippy again. Well done all staff working there. You've got the balance of portion, flavour and seasoning absolutely right. I hope your business continues to flourish. Bye just now.

Average chippy, nothing special, but does what it says on the tin, fish, chips, and does few other specials like kebabs and pizzas, got to admit there cheesy chips were cracking last time I was there, but haven't been there for a few month. Like I say, average chippy, you get your money's worth, it's not the best around, yet not the worse, don't get me wrong I'm not knocking the place, because there food is okay and nothing wrong with it, but I usually get mine from else where, but if I'm passing the place and I'm hungry, I've no qualms about going and getting my lunch from there, it's well worth the price.

Not used a lot but has never let me down to date - always there when you need it (you know those times?)..maybe on a Sunday when others are closed(what's that all about then?) - smiley happy people behind the counter and what I have had has been good!

Disgraceful service. Got order wrong, after i rang up to clarify. When my wife went in to exchange the wrong item the owner shouted at her infront of other customers to the point she cried. Absolutely shocking buisness.

Just a bit short of 5 stars but this is about the only chippy I will recommend in Newcastle. Funny how its called chippy when it should be called fishy because their chips aren't good at all. And I can't say that they make the best 'British' fish and chips, but what they do have is proper fresh fish.The fish is nice and firm, and has the sweetness of fresh seafood. Now if you are English and you want the good batter and the crispy chips, go somewhere else. Go to the Fenham fish bar. If you are in the mood for fresh fish, have developed some Asian tastebuds or just have a good taste in seafood, this place may be the best in Newcastle for you. Their fish is also quite large also which is a plus.

Half cooked chips no batter and a luke warm sausage! Waited about 10 mins for some fresh cooked chips! Still no batter and i was given the same sausage back! Which was cold and dried up! WILL definitely not be going back!
