We found this pub by chance as we had seen the lights from across the water. What a great find it was. We decided to eat there on our first night in Leith - and returned for every night we were there. The menu is varied and portions are plentiful. I would recommend the ploughman's board and the cheese board, as well as the fish an chips. Service is quick and the food always arrived piping hot. There is a fantastic variety of drinks on offer, from locally brewed beer and local gin, to an extensive range of whisky. Bar staff were helpful and knowledgeable, going the extra mile to find out about ingredients for us, and giving small tastes to assist choosing drinks. Would we return? We did - for 3 nights running!

Recommended by our B&B, and we know why! Super pub, with great ales, and spot-on menu. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit, will definitely return next time we come up.

Joli et charmant resto typique avec un magnifique bar et une belle terrasse donnant sur le canal (nous sommes pas très loin.du port). Nous y avons mangé huîtres, coquille st-Jacques, Moules, et plein d'autres choses "de bar". Ce fut... délicieux !

Been there for years first time was when ian owned it when it was the waterfront he was a family friend there's a lovely bit outside were u can sit that's amazing, i think ian woild of loved the new outside seating this is and will always be one of my fave places to eat ..only thing today was sticky tables and floors and the stairs leading to the womens loo needed cleaned but other than that lovely x

A fun spot for an afternoon drink. We played "the hoop of destiny" to select our choice of whisky. It made the event a memorable experience.

Stunning place. When the sun is out it's heaving with outside seating, brilliant food and a great view. Quality food and service. Quirky but in all the right ways.

Very pleasant pub with a good atmosphere and welcoming staff. We ordered two fish'n chips which turned out to be very generous. As a drink, a Guinness and a Coke For an addition of 58 euros. Don’t hesitate to stop there if you are in the area.

A special pub for me :) Beyond that, the atmosphere is great, the place is great... And the fish pie (I don't know if they still serve it), wonderful! A whiskey list as long as your arm: in short, at the top!

Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city, alongside an old harbour lock , this old pub has an incredible ambiance, both inside and out. We enjoyed it so much, we ate there twice. Considering the abundance of other excellent options, that says a lot. The food was phenomenal! The Cullen Skink (Smoked Fish Chowder) and Venison Bourgenon (Stew) were equally awesome.

You order via app, the food is really excellent, typical pub.

I first came to know about Teuchter's Landing when it featured on a tv programme a couple of years ago, so took the chance to visit last week when we were in the area to visit the excellent Lind & Lime gin distillery. The location is perfect, situated on Leith waterfront, and has extensive seating outside with many tables right on the water's edge. The drinks selection is also marvelous, with an excellent array of whiskies across a wide price range. There are also several excellent craft beers available, as well as the usual variety of other wines and spirits. The menu is okay, if slightly limited, and the fish & chips we had were very nice, though I have had better elsewhere. Staff were friendly and very efficient,, with the option to order at the bar or via a QR code at each table. My only criticism would be of the internal tables and chairs. While some may think the old furniture has character, it came across to me as dowdy. In addition, our table was sticky and remained so even after I had requested it to be cleaned. Even after a staff member had sprayed and wiped it, it still felt tacky and one of our beer mats stuck to it and came apart when we tried to lift it. I can't say if this applied to other tables inside, but it was definitely the case at our table. All in all, I'd happily recommend eating and drinking here, but it might be an idea to update some of the tables and chairs.

Service wasn’t amazing but oysters and the chowder stew was delicious. Salads were average.

The food was good, I would like to only point out that the nachos we had weren't as good as expected. Very good service as a bar, friendly and kind staff. Excellent atmosphere.

My wife and I visited this popular pub yesterday and it has a really great location right on the water of Leith. We arrived before 5 o'clock and tried to order food but were surprised when we were told that you couldn't between 4 and 5. So we waited until 5 then the stampeded came as everyone was ordering at the same time. My wife ordered the burger and I got the chilli dog both were served with chips. The food was average at best with the chips being really soggy and the burger and dog being more bread than meat. Maybe the food was rushed due to the stampede of orders at 50'clock. We are both doggy people and this is a dog friendly pub but we were not too enamoured with the lack of responsibility some dg owners had with their pooches, letting them roam around the bar mooching for food. I understand that it is the owners responsibility but maybe there should be some house rules that dogs must be kept on a lead and not allowed to wander off. Not too sure if we would return for food but the setting is great and we will return for drinks.

I wish we'd found this place for a daytime waterside drink, or coffee, I think it would have been great. We went in the early evening though, and each had a really tasty, generously portioned, meal. The staff were very pleasant and efficient, the food was lovely and the atmosphere was very affable. We can definitely recommend the fish and chips, the non-vegan Teuchter veggie dog and chips and the tandoori chicken burger with chips. All fantastic and all went down a treat! Also, the gents toilets are very nicely fitted out and very clean. Bonus! I didn't go in the women's toilets but I'm sure they must be just as well appointed.

This place is great, food is always good and good spot breakfast, lunch and dinner. You order and pay at bar or using QR code but works well. Highly recommend and the one place I can't resist the chips!

It's a beautiful location, good selection on the menu of food and drink. Not rushed and able to sit and enjoy the environment. We had a chicken burger and a beef burger, lacked seasoning and flavour and have to say they were average- had worse but had better. Chips were amazing though.

Lovely pub, very welcoming. Lovely outside area and eating in was lovely too. The mussels were simply delicious and the service exemplary. I would recommend this place to anyone, whether eating or having a drink. Loved it.

Great place, fantastic quirky decor, good varied menu instead of the standard ones you get. I had a ploughman's which was lush. A busy bustling place, I wouldn't class £37 for two large main meals.

Do NOT order the "beef burger". Look, it was my bad that, as someone from the US, ordered a burger in the UK. But I could not have imagined the outcome in a million tries. The patty was flavorless, dense, and grey. That's right: grey! It was so strange that it took me some time to realize that the patty was NOT GRILLED. What in the world?! Perhaps it was steamed? Doesn't matter, it was not a burger. The 10% service charge was also comical. There was no service. We scanned a QR code at the table and ordered on a web site, then food and drinks were dropped off. No water offered. No real human interaction.

Very good food and fairly large portions at a reasonable price. The staff is helpful and friendly and the atmosphere is super charming.

Interesting that whilst sat having lunch at Teuchters I glance at the Scottish Gov building to see the saltire and the EU flag whilst all around me in Teuchters was the Lion Rampant.

SCALLOP!!!! SCALLOP!!!!!!!! It might been the best scallop I’ve ever had! So fresh and loads of flavour… had to order another portion. All food was great, atmosphere was fantastic and service was great! Defiantly will recommend and be back! SCALLOP!!!

Eating on a bridge or floating platform is just as possible as in the very charming little building next door, food is delicious

Always a top pub any time of the year, but sitting out on a summer evening with a good beer in hand overlooking the docks, is just icing on the cake. Food is tasty n good value too ! Teuchters Landing is one of the jewels in the crown that is Leith ;-)

Teuchters in the Shore has one of the best outside sitting areas in Edinburgh! If you are lucky enough to get sunny weather, this is the place to be. Good food and drinks.

It's a good pub, though on the expensive side. The staff are all really chatty and friendly but I've noticed they don't seem to stick to the advertised opening hours. It's a bit of a long walk for me and had I known they'd be closing earlier than they'd said (I called in advance) I wouldn't have went as far. I have fibromyalgia and aggressive plantar fasciitis so longer walks are not an option for me unless I can rest up. Other than that though it's a nice place and should the sun ever appear across leith it's got a great outdoor area. Cant rate the food as never tried it, it is dog friendly though. Bar staff are braw

Great pub. Great location with good food. Currently the best breakfast in the shore, served with good hot coffee in a proper coffee mug. No pretentious coffee glasses here! They are also capable of frying a soft yolk egg! Quite a feat it seems as not many others are capable!

We didn’t go in to eat but just wanted to sample their mega whiskey collection. Ended up with two drams of the macallen I’d recommend to anyone in the area. Only thing to be aware of is I don’t think you can use the outdoor seating near the water after -0 if you are just having a drink.

Waited over an hour for food that I didn't receive then when asked for a refund. Bar staff then started laughing amongst eachother behind my back. Shocking service and behaviour from bar staff. Expected better. Very disappointed

Beware of hidden costs, nachos which are advertised as £12 on the menu came to £13.20 at the till out of nowhere. If you're going to charge people more money than what is stated then this needs to be advertised. Also £5.50 for a bottle of non-alchoholic beer is daylight robbery. Nachos were class though scoffed the lot.

There are a lot of things this place has going for it: open late, excellent food, amazing whiskey selection, friendly bartenders, nice craft beer variety, cool locals, warm and cosy interior, sleek dockside patio. I don't think that anybody looking for a solid traditional Scottish freehouse could complain about this spot. We ended up here multiple times during our stay, partly because they have the best opening hours and partly because our first visit was so pleasant and welcoming. And reasonably priced considering the quality. I strongly suggest trying one of their whiskey flights if you're like me and are not exactly a pro but like scotch enough and are curious about exploring more flavours and types. I was incredibly pleased with their local whiskey flight. They also have a great selection of gins, including both craft and unique top shelf Scottish ones. The place can get positively rammed on a good night, especially when food is still being served. But we always managed to find a free table for two. Fish and chips were some of the best I've had in the UK at any pub. Really flavourful and expertly cooked. The mussels were also really nicely done. The star was the scallops though! What I really liked were the vibes in the bar section. Proper pub feel. Everyone in high spirits just enjoying their time, with staff laughing and customers having a good time. It brought back memories of some small sailor's pubs I've been to on more remote islands. Good times. Would gladly go back again.

Typical pub, provides really nice range of drinks and food. I find it pricy but given the location I think it can be argued. Stays busy most of the times. When its sunny and warm, this is one of the best pubs.

We went there for a leaving do! It was really fun in the beer garden. The chips were amazing and I also had bean chilli nachos; these were okay I would say 7/10. Overall loved it! Staff were amazing and would defo go back again.

DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU HAVE DIETARY REQUIREMENTS. I have a medical issue and a dairy allergy, I asked for some basic substitutions and I was told "If we make a change for one person, everyone will want changes". Unbelievable attitude and completely unacceptable. Worst service in Edinburgh.

With a curious system of placing the order, paying and being served.....all through QR code...where fortunately it appears in several languages, including Spanish.
