The kitchen does not have the food on the menu. I came there weeks ago and was served with stale grilled fish and fried yam covered with sauce. Suffered from stomach upset afterwards. Disappointed 🙁

My partner who is Nigerian has introduced me to the restaurant and this was our fifth visit. I love their jollof rice, chicken and stew so flavourful and fresh. The plantain used to be dry however they now properly fried it and it was amazing. My partner ordered egusi and pounded yam and even though pounded yam portion is small he enjoyed it. I had Nigerian fanta for the first time and it was jumbo size. The food is nice we already knew this as previously tried fish which was also good however, nothing compares to the service we received today. Amarachi was such a lovely and welcoming person and deserves a special mention. She was genuinely warm and made technically an outsider of culture and race feel very welcome. Everyone is lovely however she has the best customer service and knows how to interact and be bubbly. I hope she stays there a long time as she is an asset!

It was one of my worst ever experience as the staffs are very rude and unprofessional. In fact my daughter left in tears from the ill treatment we got .This happened in the Reading branch on Oxford Road. Will never ever recommend this restaurant to anyone

I was shocked to receive a £100 fine days after I visited 805. I had been a regular customer pre-pandemic, and haven't driven to the restaurant in nearly 2 years. Turns out that the car park which used to be free is now chargeable, you have to input the vehicle reg to be granted 30mins free. I imagine that almost all their customers know about this development, but I didn't. I have now called 805 thrice asking to have someone help me inform their landlord that I was at their restaurant on the day, precisely because the appeal procedure stipulated in the letter is inundating for obvious reasons... they explicitly say that if you appeal to us and do not hear back in 28 days, do not assume your appeal has been granted. it is clear that whomever is the landlord is an opportunist looking to maximize profit by making their entire process difficult (even on paper). Speaking to 805 has been of no use. Their staff spent the time explaining to me why I should have seen the signs and letting me know he also receives fines. Terrible and completely unhelpful.

We were walk ins on a early Friday night. It was pleasant clean and bright. There were three tables in use. A family of five and two single gents. Waiter arrived promptly showing us to a table. We asked for recommendations as we’d not eaten Nigerian before. We were very surprised at the lack of knowledge of the menu and lack of help understanding what the food was. We decided and the service was ok thereafter. The food was ok only it would have helped to have had a fish knife to dissect the Monika fish. It needs experienced staff, a little more attention to detail and a little more understanding and it would be a good place to eat.

This restaurant is located in the Oxford Road in Reading, and is beautifully furnished and decorated. Cool looking. The food is west African and is absolutely delicious. It is clearly popular with families from west Africa - a good sign. Well worth the visit - enjoy the prawns with rice, I did!

Wow wow wow what an experience , I invited a 6 group of friends to go out for a Nigeria meal and what an ordeal it turned into. 1. Meals prices had gone up by an average of £2, however the menus had not been updated to reflect the changes. The increase itself isn't an issue until you read the point 2 - 5 below. 2. We ordered an extra starter and that came towards the end of the main meal and was wrong 3. Food orders came out at different times including a wrong order, so some people had finished eating before others had arrived otherwise their food would have been cold. 4. One person's meal was missed completely and was so upset he told the staff not to bother especially after he heard point 5 5. Egusi soup was bland and my point of reference is that I'm a regular so I know it could have been much better, there were also complaints about the fried rice being to salty, platain being to dry and rice was cold . We explained this to the Manger/Owner to gave him a chance to try and improve our experience. I said how can I bring people back here or come back if they or I get this experience his response was "I do not like being threatened and I will not be able to do anything other than remove the item that you never recieved" My point is if you are going to increase your prices to an average of £16 per main we would expect you to also improve the quality of the service and food. The basics of being in the service industry and things in your control, are getting the service and your products right, as customers we can forgive most other issues if this is done right

The meat and fish dishes and swallows were all incredible, and tasty selection of drinks too. The restaurant itself is clean and stylish. Unfortunately the location by a large Tesco superstore takes away from the polish and shine of this great restaurant. Food wise my only criticism is that I found the jollof rice a little bland. My mum also noticed the waiter put bottle opener in back pocket of trousers which did not feel terribly hygienic to her, but we were able to get the waiter to leave us one to clean and keep for the table. However as I have said the food overall was incredibly delicious and between our party we had around 10 different dishes so we could really indulge in so many different things and enjoy reminiscing about dishes from back home like Banga stew which my mum had not tasted since she left Nigeria over 30yrs ago lol keep up the good work 805 and please consider opening up in Bristol lol

Today’s food were all stale not fresh. Complained about my grilled fish as it was horrible and stale. Grilled fish was exchanged with another horrible stale fish. Ordered some takeaway fish pepper soup- got home saw I got a stale beef pepper soup that was just microwaved and packaged. Definitely not going back there😡

I have been to the restaurant a few times and the food has been great. I happened to order via delivery service and the Tilapia fish was stale, very bitter and even the appearance was poor. When calling to give feedback the lady was like' what do you want me to do'. Customer service really needs to improve

We went to 805 in Reading on Friday evening, 5 of us in total.. 3 of which were children. The restaurant was empty on our arrival, we placed our food order and received it incomplete 2 hours later!! The food was lovely once we got it. The service was awful and it seemed the restaurant was catering more to the take away market forgetting about it's restaurant customers. We were offered no recompense despite the very long wait. If you want to eat Nigerian food I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. You wil pay for an expensive meal, be fobbled of by staff who are inexperienced and not able to deal with customers effectively.
