Ever fancied dining at a restaurant where every dish is a starter? Well 76 in Tavistock is and it was an experience to remember! Upon arrival, we were struck by the concept: a menu that consisted solely of starters. Intrigued and a bit sceptical, my party of three decided to dive into this culinary adventure by ordering a variety of dishes to share. This plan, in theory, was genius until we realised our table was just to small. This was despite the items arriving at different times, which was acceptable as this is part of the serving style, we very quickly ran out of space on the table. The table quickly became a battleground. Plates were jostling for space like commuters on a packed subway at rush hour and we soon played a precarious game of Tetris with our food, trying to avoid any culinary casualties. The food itself? Absolutely excellent! Each bite was a delight, bursting with flavour. However, the portions were so small that we felt more like giants in a dollhouse feast. To be fair, I am a bit Homer Simpson in size and just as gluttonous so feel free to take this comment with a pinch of salt. Cocktails were on the menu too, though they left a bit to be desired. My overpriced mocktail was just okay, making me envious of the delightful peach-flavoured beer that one of my other diners was imbibing. Note to self: next time, ditch the mocktail for the beer - it was scrumptious! The dessert menu was another curiosity. For a place serving tiny portions, you'd think they'd make up for it with a grand dessert selection, but alas the variety was not there. Would I go back? Absolutely—but with a few caveats. I’d make sure not to arrive ravenously hungry, unless I was prepared to spend a small fortune on enough starters to fill me up. Despite the minuscule portions and the spatial challenges, every item we tried was undeniably delicious. In conclusion, this restaurant is perfect for those who love variety and have the patience of a saint. Just be prepared to juggle plates like a circus performer and perhaps consider a pre-dinner snack!

Absolutely loved the meal here. All the food was delicious. The waitress was lovely and good fun. Highly recommend and can’t wait to come back.

Went in for lunch for my birthday. The reviews are mixed so I was pretty open minded about what to expect. The food was fresh and delicious and the service was friendly and helpful. We all thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely return.

A bit of serendipity! A friend had recommended we try it as a newish Asian themed (Thai amongst others) restaurant. We were very pleased we did. Whilst we were the only couple there, nonetheless there was a good atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and we enjoyed a couple of cocktails and a good chat. Clearly a lot of thought had gone into the choice of fittings and selection of tableware and glasses. Our dishes were freshly prepared, very tasty and the portion size was very generous! Highly recommended.

Food is really good, cocktails are well made, Service is excellent. Really nice place, my only criticism is it can feel a bit chilly at lunchtimes… Can’t wait to bring my friends here for an evening out.

Fabulous-we loved the food, service and vibe. Second visit and it really is good. Husband is a chef and is rarely impressed but he was at Bar 76 - have made two more bookings with other friends Try it you won’t be disappointed 😊

Great venue with amazing food and choice of beverages. The staff were pleasant but left us waiting with no acknowledgement to be seated. Drinks took a long time to arrive. Customer Service just needs to be refined to match the food, drinks and the venue.

Nice looking cocktail menu but your staff have no idea how to make a cocktail or how it should taste. Shockingly bad.

A delicious selection of Thai and world food served “tapas style" in a modern setting. Friendly staff and excellent cocktails. This was our third visit and we love it!

Just popped in for a drink today to check out the venue, something quite different. We were the only ones in there and were so lucky to spend time talking to the chef, Luke and the barman, sorry didn’t get his name. Such lovely staff members who were happy to spend time talking to us. We’ll definitely go back and will try some food, menu looks good.

Really excellent food and service. It’s basically South East Asian food but tapas style so can try lots of dishes. Korean, Vietnamese, Thailand and Indonesia etc.

Nicely decorated modern wine bar. Nice atmosphere, good cocktails, polite staff but the food was disappointing and I do feel overpriced for what you were actually given. Don’t order a salad bowl, more like a side salad! It was very small and mainly consisted of pea shoots and nothing else. Bao buns dry and noodles average. The food is nothing special but it is a great new place to have a drink and eat some over priced rice crackers!

Super impressed. Beautiful Asian food and perfect for sharing. The food had so much depth and layers of flavour. Really accommodating and friendly staff. They made us the Thai red curry despite being short of ingredients. Beautiful venue and cosy decor. Highly recommend the shredded beef donuts, red Thai curry and noodles! The cocktails were also top notch. We will definitely be back again

This was our first visit and we were very impressed. The food was excellent and the staff were lovely. Five of us shared about 12 different options and every one was delicious. My husband & I have travelled regularly around the Far East and the Asian dishes served at 76 were a great reminder! There is a downstairs bar/eating area and an upstairs dining area (also an outside space for when the weather is good). We wish the team at 76 all the best for the future.

Called in for a late lunch in this new bar and kitchen after hearing good things about it and we weren’t disappointed.Small sharing plates of Asian style cuisine of which we had five between the two of us,Bang Bang Cauliflower with a pea and coconut dip:Crispy Squid with mango salsa:Sesame Grilled Tuna with kimchi and ponzu:Rice Noodles and a Bao Bun.The dishes are cooked to order and come to table as soon as they’re ready and oh my…freshly cooked to perfection with fabulous flavours to complement each dish,the chef’s own menu apparently,well done chef I will be back for more soon.Accompanied by a delicious Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc my sister and myself thoroughly enjoyed the fabulous food,excellent customer service and great atmosphere of this new bar and kitchen.
