70 ONE Restaurant & Lounge in Daventry

We came to 70 one for the first time and had the cheese bombs, samosa chaat to start and the butter chicken, green chicken curry, and the lamb biryani as mains. All of the food was great and the service was also delightful including our server Naheem.

Armaan and Naseeb were amazing and welcoming, offered the best service and made sure everything was fine. The food was very good too and would definitely come again for the food alone. The atmosphere was good and quite peaceful. Overall an 8/10

Quality food, however portion sizes and prices weren’t the best.

Booked for Friday evening, this was our first visit. Easy to find, nice big illuminated sign out on the road. We booked the Shisha room, great canal side table for two, overlooking the canal and water features, only one strange observation was the two huge tvs displaying football… this sort of took the spark away from the room. Service was very quick, plenty of staff on hand and we didn’t wait very long. This is a dry restaurant so no alcohol is served for reference. Food is great, good choice and full of flavours, mixed grill is so flavoursome and tasty served on a skillet so piping hot.

The ambience, food and staff were lovely. The burger was also so good. I will come back soon.

First time here and everything was perfect. Their service was immaculate and there was cute little features for Ramadan. Very thoughtful from Mohammed and Ibby with their brilliant service. Will be back.

Excellent service very attentive. Starters and mains served together due to being busy and wanting to avoid people waiting (my husband didn’t like this as he felt rushed) but I think it made it better, there was no pressure to be quick we stayed for a drink after our meal. Unfortunately we have allergies however this was handled beautifully by our host. Bonus the football was on.

Main thing - the food wasn’t that great, maybe average! Even though the price and reviews might suggest this is the ultimate Indian food experience, we have been disappointed. Secondly, the place looks dirty and smells funny, unusual I could say. The music is loud, so loud that you couldn’t have a conversation with person across the table. The service was great and that might be the only good thing in our experience. We can not recommend this restaurant.

We visited 70 One after seeing some hype on social media, but overall, it was just okay. The food was fine not bad, but nothing special either. The service was good the staff checked in frequently to see how everything was, which was appreciated. However, the overall experience didn’t quite live up to our expectations. The decor wasn’t anything amazing, and the atmosphere felt a bit underwhelming compared to how it was portrayed online (maybe was just the day). It wasn’t a bad experience, but it wasn’t memorable either just a meh kind of visit.

First time being here, and we travelled from quite far away, We had high expectations however unfortunately the food didn't live up to the hype. Service was alright. However, we did ask 2 members of staff if we could sit outside (shisha area) for 10-15 minutes, they both agreed to it but after 5 minutes, they said we had to order something to sit in the area, we decided to order dessert. A minute later, the same member who allowed us to sit for 15 minutes asked us to leave as we had to eat our desserts in the main hall, even though there were plenty of tables free. This was very embarrassing for me and my friends. Don't think we will be recommending this place or visiting again.

Best lounge I’ve been to yet!!!Amazing flavourful food with great presentation. Very friendly staff. Didn’t hesitate to offer help and recommendations. Food came hot and quick. Hats off to Ibby great service friendly towards all customers not just one table like other restaurants/lounges. Food came quick aswell. However I’d recommend to use another form of communication instead of 2 way radios as they were quite disturbing

Amazing food for the price very good location only thing that kept bothering us is the walkie talkie I feel like all staff should have ear piece or something overall the staff makes the experience amazing.

Place looks completely different in real life, service was really good can’t complain about that, everything was good except the lamb shanks was 100% recooked. We ordered nearly everything off the menu…. But main thing is the place is in a state. Need some proper builders or interior decorators.

The food is not great. Masala chips and the tikka pizza was terrible. The shisha on the other hand is pretty good.

Had a wonderful meal here, and was actually surprised by how good it was! We ordered the Cheese Bombs, lollipop chicken, chilli paneer and prawn dumplings for starters. I was pleasantly surprised how the different indo-chinese dishes actually used different marinades. All well cooked, perfectly spiced. We ordered the lmab shank biryani and lamb shank curry for mains. The biryani was delicious for a restaurant (it's a 4 hour dish, so restaurant versions are never as good), and the presentation was also impressive. A good amount of fried onions, and not overly spiced. The lamb shank curry was very heavy (in a good way). A thick, heavy garam masala gravy, and it was a healthy portion size. The only negative is one of the waiters was a little too quick to clean up the table. The decor is also very nice, with clean toilets. This restaurant is a hidden gem.

Lovely restaurant, loved the food. Especially momos was so delicious and went for my 12 year anniversary made me feel special. We had Biryani which was yummy, loaded chips with pulled beef was so delicious and filling. Halal food they had sheesh too and also pods outside which was nice. Will be going back again.

Short answer: over priced, over hyped. Would not recommend. Came here for a family birthday meal after seeing the viral TikTok’s and drove a fair distance to only leave incredibly disappointed. Food was mediocre and ludicrously priced. The portions were quite small and average in taste as well as presentation. I ordered the lamb shank biryani which was ok. We also ordered the mixed grill which was small, lacked variety and was ridiculously overpriced for what it was. (We weren’t really full after the meal.) The samosa chaat was decent but the burger was terrible. The Matilda cake was nice! 4/5 The staff were friendly and approachable. Smiles on their faces, great team! The atmosphere wasn’t enjoyable, music was quite loud and definitely was not a family vibe (we were seated outside) it was also super cold but the friendly staff gave us a heater to try and heat our area up. The decoration wasn’t great. I could see the effort and inspo but it looked like it was all from Ali express. Sorry 😭 Almost forgot the piste resistance! £4.50 for a “large” bottle of water which only filled 2 glasses 😅. No tap water available. Overall: not worth the money

TL;DR version - Classic case of social media hype. Knock off Farm House, awful value for money. No tap water, and charging £4.50 for 750ml of water. I'd recommend avoiding, but if you're dying to check out the hype, keep your expectations low. Longer version I ordered a mix grill, which was £25. But this only included two lamb chops, two wings, and a small kofta - not enough for a child. The food was decent, not amazing. In Farm House, the £35 mixed grill includes a steak, lamp chops, butterfly chicken breast and chips. SO NICE and brilliant value for money. My brother ordered the 70 ONE burger (which included chips). This was £20. The burger was dead ☠️ The ladies ordered lamb shank biyrani and the normal lamb biyrani - both were good, so credit where it's due 👏🏽 the loaded chips were 🔥 These were probs best of the bunch. Can't comment much on the ambience. We were in shisha area, so naturally, it felt like Road Man date vibes ☠️ Oh, and the decor of the main restaurant felt cheap. Straight from Temu. I read some guy said the loos felt boujee - lord knows where this poor bugger is going for a dump. What I saw was a bathroom with no bodna, paper thin toilet seats, and no hot water 😂😭

Absolutely amazing place, one of my favourite asian restaurants. The lamb chops amongst the best ive had, butter chicken and beef chettinad amazing, all the food is fantastic. Service is great too, so kind and attentive. Do yourself a favour and come here asap!

Positives - customer service great Negatives - food menu needs to be updated, the quality of the food was poor compared to what we had in mind. The taste of each item was inadequate. We ordered a brownie and paid over £10 for it. Unfortunately it was not up to standard and we was served a Costco brownie which was covered with an ice cream on top. we travelled from Birmingham just for this.

I'm not one to write reviews but I just have to this time. We had a table booked for 8 people, staff were useless, standing around looking into the ceiling and on their mobile phones. Food was over priced and tasteless, empty restaurant on a Saturday night which was an initial red flag. A few mistakes were made with our order, I'd understood if it was busy but as I mentioned, the place was dead. The waiter missed out a few items from our order meaning we didn't get to eat together, most people finished their meals whilst others were still being made. Also, food was being served but we didn't have plates or cutlery, I'm not sure if we were meant to use the table as a plate and eat with our hands? The owners might be Bengali but the food definitely isn't. I think the best item on their menu is the bog standard chips that come with the burgers. The staff also need to learn how to use the calculator, after paying individually, there was £80 left to pay for the waitress who can't use a calculator was being very firm about it being over £180. Over we were all left pretty disappointed, these TikTok and instagram famous places are really not it. It's all for show. Also, they have no hot water in the toilets. I have been reading some of these reviews below and itching my head, plenty of 5* which just doesn't make sense. Avoid at all costs unless you're really itching to overspend on tasteless food with shocking service.

Place was really nice and atmosphere was good, starters were good however the lamb chops were a little tough, mains were fine and had good flavour however we were given side plates instead of dinner plates and the plates were very cold (they could have warmed them up before giving to us) this made our food cold which was disappointing

The food here is average, it’s quite overhyped by social media. It seems they increase the quality when posting but decrease when it’s time to serve paying customers. Just go to your local Indian restaurant instead. Quick tip, if you’re ordering a curry it doesn’t come with a naan or rice, it’s just curry on its own so you will have to add those options if needed.

Service is good - food is ok but a bit on the pricey side for what it is. The decor of the place is very nice and you can see the owners have put a lot of money into the place although every time I’ve visited it’s probably been at 20% capacity… so not sure, maybe needs to be marketed more. Recommend the chicken lollipops!

The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure that all our needs were met without being intrusive. The menu offered a wonderful variety of dishes would definitely come back again.

Went for a christmas meal 19 of us with 10 kids which we mentioned when booking. Staff not too friendly stood st the end of our table watching us est, very uncomfortable then when we were going to order dessert they took one of our tables and set it up for other customers. Dinner for 19 is not a 5 min job and this should of been respected. They lost out as we were all going to odmrder dessert. Food was very good but the staff not so

This is the only restaurant where the pictures online is exactly what you get. Food was all sensational , service was quick! We travelled one hour to eat here and stayed in a nearby hotel…..we would absolutely do it again!!!

Gorgeous restaurant beside the lake. Food was delicious especially the starters (we ordered chicken wings and beef bao). The mains were mouthwatering and flavoursome. I highly recommend this place!

Best experience ever. The flavours of the food were incredible. Each dish wasn't just a throw of typical spices. You could see the efforts and creation gone into each dish. The vibes at the shisha section (I didn't have shisha) were incredible. A nice more darker vibe at night and great view of river. I really enjoyed my experience. Staff were friendly. This was fantastic and I'm coming again to try other dishes. I had the drumsticks Beef chettinand Masala fries (nice and saucy) Prawn curry can't remember the exact name. Lamb biryani which had wonderful vibrant mint flavour. Loved it.

The food tastes very good, however some are very spicy. The Pod was nice and warm. The frozen raspberry and frozen blueberry sisha was very nice as well and not too expensive. I went twice to eat in and ordered for takeaway the third day in a row.

I went to this restaurant with my family after seeing amazing reviews online. Sadly the service didn’t live up to our expectations and felt a specific member of staff Mohammed was reluctant to be accommodating despite knowing our requirements (baby chairs) and number of guests prior to arriving as we had made a reservation. The other members of staff were friendly but Mohammed made us feel quite uncomfortable. The food was flavourful and arrived quite quickly. We enquired about a dish but were given the wrong info about the quantity which was disappointing. All in all, I wouldn’t say it’s worth a two hour drive from London.

lovely atmosphere, lovely staff... but the food BLAND i swear my date svg I go out regularly and I even took it away and ate turtle bay and that's saying shunting because turtle bay isn't all that ethier, the lamb shank presentation beautiful but defo seasoned that day no way days before drinks where lovely though, wouldn't be quick to go again.

Lamb shank biryani was just amazing, and the chicken lollipop and great flavour. Loaded fries were out of this world. All the meats were tender and cooked to perfection. Best shisha I've had. Staff were amazing, warm welcoming, and very helpful. Made us feel comfortable.
