I visited on my own, for a break from work, on a Tuesday afternoon in early September. I walked past by chance and loved the look of the window and the board with the invitation to join for tea and flowers that was placed outside. Being able to sit and enjoy a nice drink and enjoy the flowers even though I wasn’t buying any on that occasion was really a lovely, calm experience. And wow, they had some of the most beautiful roses I’ve ever seen. There were a couple of groups of friends in who were enjoying their conversations, myself and another person were either working or just enjoying the downtime, and everyone respected everyone else’s right to enjoy the space and experience in their own way, be it together or solo. The menu is on the wall next to the fridge, as you come in.

I had my daughter's Hen day here in February 2024. Flower arranging and afternoon tea. We were all made to feel very special. Flowers and tea were excellent. The staff were very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be coming here again.

I've always skipped this place, in case I'd stand out like a sore thumb. But I've turned into a proper green-tea head recently; and when the gasp kicked in the other day, my feet led me into this haven before the manly side of my brain could argue. So there I was ensconced in this flower bower, stirring jasmine green tea in a glass pot, while nearby a young man braved the unknowns of flower purchase, helped by the kindly assistant. It's a small shop, with about four tables. And it felt secret and zen like. I loved the tea, drinking it daintily -- insofaras I'm capable of daintiness -- from a small glass dish, like someone in a film about decadent poets. Jasmine tea was a new one on me. As was the sight of a tea light actually warming a pot of tea. I'll definitely return to this hybrid gem.

Looks lovely from the outside. We went in and despite being the only customers we were ignored in preference for loading the dishwasher. After seating and 2 more groups of customers came in and got the same response. Eventually started serving (10 mins after we entered) but ignored us in preference to one of the later groups. We left and wen to Yaylo a couple of doors down which is much nicer and friendlier. Very poor training, surely if you are busy you should at least acknowledge your customers.

Located just 5 minutes walk from the station, my sister and I had a lovely catch up over a delicious tea. Everything was very fresh including a lovely buttery scone. The selection of cakes was very varied and moreish. Staff were very friendly and looked after us well. We pre booked and found the price very reasonable.

I ordered a surprise bouquet for a friend, I'd contacted the store via email prior to my purchase and they were very kind and helpful. My friend has had an awful few years(well documented TRUE story in a book that's been published, see Jayne Sterne book titled DESTROYED). Anyway, I explained to the store that my friend had never received a bouquet of flowers ever in her life and that the bouquet needed to be special, they didn't disappoint. Jayne was completely overwhelmed, gobsmacked to be precise. The flowers were delivered in January and Jayne still talks about them to this day. So thanx again you guy's @ 7 flower & Tea, you made a very special girl very happy.

am not even sure how to begin this review but to say that 7 flowers is THE cafe I have been going to for almost 4 years now. Every member of staff in the shop have become like a member of family to me. Not only are they attentive and prompt, they have great recommendations for any and all friends I bring to the shop. The staff are truly the sweetest group of people I know in the industry and strive to make your experience there both comfortable and enjoyable from the perfect presentation of tea to personalised bouquets and are always happy to listen and assist with any further requests. I have not had the honour of speaking with QiQi the owner very often but Sara, Jordan and Lauren are a big part of what makes the cafe one of my favourite spots in town. In terms and food and drink, 7 flowers has an extremely wide selection which continuously cycles depending on stock and season so there is no chance for you to get bored. As someone who is dairy free they provide both vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options which are some of the best cakes I’ve had that have been plant based. You often lose out on richness and the sugar content is way too high but that is not the case with the cake and dessert here. For those of you that aren’t tea lovers there are coffees and hot chocolate and there are good few people I have brought to the shop that have fallen in love with tea which they said they didn’t like before. Pricing wise, you definitely get your money’s worth definitely for the huge pots of loose leaf tea which can very easily be shared between several people if you are on a budget and they have loyalty cards which can be stamped and you can earn free drinks. (Correct me if I’m wrong here) but if you are in a rush you can also take some drinks away. 7 flowers also offers bouquets (both fresh and dried flowers) which can be custom made for a charge which I have always found reasonable for the amount of work and time and artistry that is put into them. The flowers available are also seasonal and change rapidly but I find this another charming aspect of the cafe. If there is a particular set of fresh flowers you would like as a dried bouquet, they can also dry them in store for you. I have also bought several potted plants from here that have been exceptionally cared for and make for perfect gifts. And if you fall in love with the teacups they can be bought online in their website shop as well as other homewear items, chocolates, candles etc. In terms of facilities, they have both indoor and outdoor seating and a toilet which isn’t disability accessible (it is down some stairs) and doesn’t include baby changing facilities. However, the toilet is always kept impeccably clean. Finally, the atmosphere. It is not a surprise that there is a 90 minute limit (during busy hours) to seat in the cafe. With thousands of plants, a fake plant wall, calming music, the beautiful smell of flowers it both feels and is a breathe of fresh air when you have been walking around Reading. It is not uncommon to see people studying in here or completing work before a meeting. Everyone I have introduced to 7 flowers mentions the atmosphere first upon leaving and the calming effect it has had on them. Before going, to make it easier for everyone I would recommend calling ahead and asking if a table is free so it can be reserved for you and if there are any particular cakes or teas you are interested in then to ask then. The team are always very friendly and will often go the extra mile to make sure their clients get the best out of their time there.

I have been a regular for some time now. Staff are professional and very friendly. They go the extra mile to ensure my friends and I are comfortable and happy. They welcome everyone with open arms. A wonderful menu of cakes - including many gluten free. Very nut allergy friendly too, as they don't handle them. While they can't guarantee due to manufacturers, I've never had a problem. Absolutely delicious and lots of variety. Cheesecake, lemon cake, scones, tarts etc. Excellent cream tea too! Everything is beautifully presented in glass teapots with candles to warm them. Little egg timers and nice crockery. Always clean. It's great to eat surrounded by the plants and flowers too!!

I cannot recommend this place enough. I lived in Reading for years but moved away in 2022 and whenever I'm back in the area this is the place I go. I've seen a few different staff when I've been in there and never met one who wasn't super friendly and attentive (Jordan and Sara are especially lovely). It gets busy during peak times but that's definitely for a reason; 7 Flowers has a lovely atmosphere, great drinks, food and service AND is incredibly Instagram-able.

The range of loose leaf teas is consistently tasty, and I've noticed that there seems to be something different on the menu each time I visit. The staff (Sarah and Jordan I think) are polite every time I pop in. Love the atmosphere, though I enjoy my visits most on weekdays as it's quieter. I look forward to coming again.

We spent a fortune on tea and cake, the person who served us had her friend and together they were chatting so loudly. They had no regards for us. We moved table to get away from them, but they completely ignored us and had very loud conversations which completely ruined our experience. Shame on you. You have no respect for your customers.

We took my Grandma here for her birthday and it was the worst customer experience I have ever had. When we arrived in Reading we rang to say we would be a bit late as my Grandma has reduced mobility and they said they cancelled our booking because my sister hadn’t paid. SHE DID PAY. She went ahead and sorted it out and proved payment through her bank statement. They let us in eventually but made us wait 15-20 mins as the replaced our slot. When we did get in they had none of the tea, sandwiches or cakes we wanted as they hadn’t been defrosted. I am gluten free and they had nothing so went to the shop and bought shop bought sandwiches and cake of only 2 varieties. This all took over 30 mins. In the end they gave us a small bunch of flowers for free but ruined my Grandma’s birthday celebration. Would never recommend.

I hired 7 Flowers and Tea for an afternoon tea for an hen do. I love that you can hire the venue, it makes it feel even more special. The communication during the booking process was amazing, everyone I spoke to was so helpful and it just made the whole process so easy. On the day, Jordan was ever so attentive and such a good host. And of course, the food was GLORIOUS and we all loved the great variety in drink choices. There was so much food, and such a variety to suit all needs and requirements. The venue is beautiful and I couldn't recommend more!

We finally popped into 7 Flowers for an afternoon tea today having walked past a number of times and wondered about this curious new tea shop/florist. An original concept, it invites customers to peruse and buy a wide selection of flowers while enjoying a cup of tea and cake. First thing to comment on is obviously the decor. It really is unique and very eye-catching, with an abundance of real and artificial flowers, which creates a relaxed atmosphere, almost like you’re enjoying a garden party. There’s a great selection of green, black and herbal teas to choose from and a range of cakes (including vegan). We ordered a pot of pu erh and a pot of sakura. The attention to detail was lovely, and it was without doubt the prettiest tea I’ve ever had (see photos). There’s an egg timer to tell you when the tea is ready to drink and different sweeteners (white sugar, brown sugar, honey, artificial sweetener). I also ordered the vegan dark cherry and marzipan cake. It was delicious. The ladies serving were also very friendly and helpful. I didn’t buy any flowers this time, but all in all, it was a lovely place for tea and cake.

Cozy place, nice back garden with very cute beach style cabins. Great atmosphere overall, nice beer as well, not too pricey (£6 a pint). Can't comment on the food as I haven't had any, but I'll be back whenever I'm in Reading.

The place is quite rundown. We asked for dumplings which they didn't have so we ordered something different. The portions were small and quite expensive.
