I went to this club the other night with my friends for one of there birthdays and it was amazing! Bouncers are poor. Spent £1600 pound on a table for 5 hours, 2 bouncers kicked said the drink and table was no longer ours and it was there’s. Kicked us out of the club for no reason. Won’t be back anytime soon.

Worse place I’ve ever been to bouncers are horrible and abusive knocked one of my friends out for no reason at all, wouldn’t let boys in only girls. Absolutely disgusting do not visit unless you want to get attacked by the bouncers

Me and two friends were assaulted by an unknown group and then were dragged out by security staff (two women and I)!!! Staff inconsiderate to the fact we had all just been assaulted and then refused entry to police. Avoid at all costs.

Dodgiest place I’ve ever been too. Three of my friends were spike and the bouncer did nothing to help them. We ended up getting help from some police officers who happened to be on that street…2 hours after being kicked out. And on top of that, the bouncers at the club told my friend they need to join weight watchers. Which I think is incredibly disrespectful

If you want to pay 5x the price for drinks and want to get your tables repeatedly moved with no warning nor apology this is the place for you.

The main doorman assaulted one member of our party for something extremely trivial. Would not recommend pre-paying for anything (tables/bottles) as they may find the smallest excuse to refuse entry and you won’t be reimbursed.

Definitely the worst place in liverpool. The bouncers think there prestige and better than everyone when they just look like a group of non ces. Staff are rude also think there prestige when they work at 54, how embarrassing. Would rather go level at this point than 54 it has definitely gone very down hill and I can’t wait for the day they close.

Went to watch the Champions League final with a group of friends, two of whom (both female) were subject to verbal abuse from members of the security staff, as well as other members of the public (also being touched without their consent by security and a member of the public). When they raised this with management they were told this would be looked into, before being effectively kicked out of the club for bringing this to the attention of the management. Disgusting behaviour from those who were there to make people feel safe, but did anything but, and in fact made people feel less safe.

Had tickets booked for the champions league final, the venue was overcrowded and unsafe. The staff were rude and aggressive towards everyone and even grabbed girls and yanked them after they repeatedly asked them not to touch them. The manager himself was not much better than the bouncers, was not helpful, sympathetic nor apologetic to the events that took place that night. Honestly would not recommend this place, avoid at all costs, any venue in Liverpool is better than this. It’s also very highly likely the owner will read these reviews and try to gas light everyone that’s wrote a bad review because all the people that put a 1 star are in the wrong. Clearly can’t handle criticism.

Paid 23 pound for two tickets to watch the champions league final. Was overcrowded and the place was still allowing people to enter. I feel they had no thought of anyones safety. People could barley move let alone watch the match. One of the worst experiences I would avoid this place for any future events. Just care about profit with rude staff.

The door staff behaviour is an absolute joke, shouting abuse at people unprovoked dragging people around the venue. Hands down the worst place I’ve ever been to in Liverpool. Didn’t even bother serving pints only bottles as well. Do yourself a favour and go absolutely anywhere but here. If the owner reads this, do yourself a favour and get some new door staff, these guys will be the death of your venue.

Appreciate it was the champions league final, but we couldn’t move in/outside the venue, so it deffo felt oversold. There was a 45min queue for the bar & only one working card machine! They state on their insta there’s a dress code but people were there wearing massive trainers/brands which was frustrating as people had bought smarter clothes for the event. We left at 7pm as it was so poorly organised! Avoid!

We were given guest list tickets from 8-10 and was refused and was then told when we rang them up they were from 11 and were still refused by the bouncers who spoke to us disgustingly! Appalled with the lack of respect, they also said it was at full capacity but continued to let other people in. Don't go to 54 if you want to be treated horribly by the bouncers, they deserve to all be sacked

Don’t let your daughters go here… daughters friends drink spiked.. staff didn’t help or want to know accused them of being drunk . They wouldn’t call a ambulance they just wanted them off the premises. The girls where treated appalling by the staff… what if it was your daughter … shame on you… the girls rang a ambulance themselves to be told they where too busy the girls mum came and took to hospital and it was confirmed that she had been spiked. In warrington bars nightclubs give out glass covers to protect people from this happening you wouldn’t even give the poor girl a glass of water… don’t go to this bar

Me and my friends were lining up and got our ID checked. Everything was fine then we got to the next section and they wanted to take a photo of our ID and face on the iPad. They wouldn’t explain why properly and my friend said she wasn’t comfortable because it has her address on it the women who was there on Saturday rudely said don’t come in then. We didn’t and as we were walking off called us weird. We only wanted a proper reason there was no need for rudeness at the end of the day.

Came here with my friends on Saturday. We had shown the bouncers our ID, then we moved along the queue and were asked to show them again. My friend had been the week before and the bouncer had taken a picture of her ID. We were asked to get our IDs out again and a fella was stood there with an iPad saying that he was going to take a ‘scan’ of our IDs. We asked if it was a scan or a photo and their reply was photo. I asked why because obviously it has our addresses and personal info on. The lady stood with this bouncer couldn’t give me an answer and rudely said ‘don’t come in then’ to which I replied ‘I won’t’. Me and my friends walked away and she shouted ‘what a weird group of girls’. Completely unprofessional, and they couldn’t even tell us how our personal info would be stored and what it was for. When we queried it they were just rude. Save yourselves a tenner and don’t go

Dont bother coming here. We paid £20 to get in on Christmas Eve and can’t even get proper drinks. Cocktails? No. Cider? No. Any draft? No… what did I come out for honestly. I’m dissapointed and won’t be coming back here. Music is mediocre and all sounds the same (drummer was cool). But cmon yous can do better

Had a brilliant night over all. Dancers confetti music atmosphere was amazing even though I was probably the oldest in there. Only problem I have is that when I went in and got stamped by lady at door ...she stamped me that hard 3 times she bruised my wrist. Quite bad .

The peasant at the front door said that a Lacoste member’s only collection polo shirt for £250 is too casual for the club ! Then after we walked away, he let in a guy wearing a primark £10 t-shirt. What a joke, seems they don’t want well dressed people with money in their club. Don’t bother to go and have your night ruined from a horrific staff and management. There are much, much better and classy clubs in Liverpool, such as alma de Cuba that made our night and will definitely come back there!

Bar 54 Liverpool, on Seel Street, with a beer garden, with lights and very loud music, breaking noise pollution laws and showing no respect.

I know 1 star is dramatic but I genuinely feel that this is representative of the experience me and my friends had. A friend had booked a table for 4 here with a bottle of champagne, bottle of prosecco and a round of cocktails for around £200. We arrived at the bar and were told we had to que with everyone else who hadn't booked. Once we managed to get in we were escorted to a small bar style table with no seating and told that is was our table. We had to ask for seating and complain to get 2 stools brought to our 4 seater table. When we ordered drinks we were initially told cocktails were not available for the floor we were sat on - the manager rectified this and got his staff to bring the cocktails the 10 steps from the floor they were available from. However we went through ordering cocktails 3 times as we were told they had run out of ingredients to make our drinks. We were supposed to be in this bar for the majority of the night but left early and found a bigger table inside Mojo where we could order whatever drinks we wanted straight to the table and the table didn't cost anything. I feel I need to also call out 54 for the complete lack of consideration for Covid safe measures. People were crowded in with no effort to social distance, dancing on top of one another with no discipline from the staff and no hand gel around the bar apart from in the toilets. Certainly a place to avoid and one that I imagine would get shut down if they were to get investigated or spot checked for Covid safe measures!

Didnt pay staff furlough even though the company qualified for it on hmrc website and didn’t pay us wen fire happened, eventually after weeks gave staff burnt notes from the safe for wage. don’t pay staff minimum wage half the time, some underage workers, threaten with sack if you make a mistake even though mangers are always bevvying on shift, friend on other site was sacked/ threaten with the sack when told us they got paid furlough

I was very disappointed in my experience at 53 Liverpool on Saturday. We arrived as a group of 12 people around 5pm and had drinks on the roof terrace. The bar staff were very friendly and I couldn't fault them, my issue is with the door staff. Around 20:30 we were asked to moved downstairs as there was a private function at 21:00, which we happily did. We continued drinking downstairs until around 22:00 when my partner was isolated from the group and escorted outside by 2 bouncers and told he was not allowed back in. Why? Because he was wearing jean shorts! It was 25C on Saturday, so yes, shock horror, he decided to wear shorts! I would've been happy if they had come over and said "you know guys, we don't really allow shorts, so could you finish your drinks and move on?" that would've been fine, but we had been in there for a good portion of the day, nobody had said anything, we had put a lot of money behind the bar and we had literally just bought a round. The bouncer was very rude and wouldn't let us finish our drinks, which we had literally just brought back from the bar - it is no way to treat customers who have spent the day causing you no trouble! It seems from other reviews that this 'judgement of what people are wearing' is a common theme at this bar.

We went here for drinks...they were a bit watery. It’s just an okey place for a quick stop.

My Daughter went to this place on Saturday 09Mar19. Unbelievably they were served with completely raw uncooked chicken (masquerading as salt & pepper chicken). When brought to the attention of the management he apologised and did not charge them for the “meal” The girls took photographs of the raw chicken and informed the Manager of there disgust at having raw poultry placed in front of them. The Manager informed the girls that he was sorry but the venue could not really take responsibility as they use “Guest Kitchens” and that the blame lay with the current guest kitchen “Salt” The matter has been forwarded to the FSA and the photographs have also been supplied. On Saturday night the venue had 34 Google reviews, a couple of days later the review count had almost tripled with the majority giving 5 stars for the amazing salt & pepper chicken mmmmmm? My daughter and her friends could have been made very seriously ill, the potential of this seemed lost on the manager who bizarrely told my daughter that he only buys chickens that do not have salmonella (he should have said that he was a microbiologist). Look at the negative reviews for this place, the response to criticism is to abuse, belittle and scoff at the reviewer iwith breathtaking arrogance. There is absolutely no defence for serving raw poultry and I am only grateful that my daughter and her friends were not made seriously ill. If the management would like to reply my question before you start is Did you serve uncooked poultry on 09Mar19? Yes? You have no defence and I hope the FSA and partner agencies issue your business with severe punitive sanctions.

Went to dinner at this place with friends and we all loved it! Would definately reccomend, good vibes, lovely helpful and attentive staff and the food was gorgeous. Cool music and cocktails on point 👌 My new favorite place and will be going back very soon. Bar 53 gave us such a good night

I have been visiting Bar 53 for a few months now and the atmosphere, staff and service has always been fantastic. Most recently I booked a private party for 30 people for my mates 30th. Special thanks to staff, who looked after us on the night and made it a birthday to rememeber. I would recommend private hire for birthdays, baby showers, company's parties and definetly just a night out with friends. All staff were very friendly and accommodating providing a 5 star service.

Had the pleasure of eating here for my wife’s birthday with the family. Even though the venue was busy and we had a party of 16 they handled the steady flow of drinks, starters, mains and desserts unbelievable. I would highly recommend the tomahawk steak, it was cooked to perfection. Will definitely be going again soon.

Last night was amazing, 18 girls and myself went to 53 for my hen night and honestly couldn't of picked anywhere better the food was amazing (salt pepper chicken was my fav) b4 the drinks flowed. If you love a cocktail then like to dance the night away this is the place for you. 53 is my new hangout

My other half and her friends met there for a meal. The majority of them ordered chicken, after they had started to eat they discovered that the chicken was RAW, not just a little bit but completely raw. DO NOT EAT HERE

Horrendous experience... The lady serving me tried to over charge me and when confronting her she couldn't provide me with the correct information, lost her temper with me then ignored me until, what I believe would be her manager came and attempted to sort the situation out but couldn't understand it either.

We popped in here yesterday afternoon while at the Chinese New year wi5h my wife and daughter as I had heard great reviews about it and it didn't disappoint. The food is amazing, the music was great and the venue is looks great too

Went here on Chinese New Year Festival so maybe it was more busy than they are used to, also this place is fairly new. The staff were friendly but I found the service pretty poor and not well managed. I waited a long time at the bar to find that I could not order food at the bar 🙄 I ordered some sweet potato chips, to which it went to the wrong table and waited longer for some new chips, albeit a double portion to apologise for my wait. The chips were very oily and not crispy enough. Great decor and good location. I think on a less busy day i’d have given 3/4 stars.

6:30pm Sunday night, about to enter this place to make an enquiry about a food booking and I’m stopped by the security!? Looking me up and down and asking me what I’m doing? Looking at my clothes! He asked me..’do I know someone in here’?..its a restaurant not a fight club I thought to myself, so why I’d be confronted at a place that serves tapas and pizza is a mystery to me. Ditch the monkeys at the door because they obviously are not used to working anywhere other than late night clubs and dealing with rowdy teens and not people that would like to sit down and eat in a Sunday evening! (Response to owner) After reading your reply I feel I need to clarify for your comprehension. Firstly I completely understand why security is needed at certain times of the year, secondly I didn’t rock up to the premises with kitchen sinks underneath my arms assuming that’s what you think I did. I was smartly dressed but without the Hugo boss shoes type of footwear I saw on most people when I was sitting at the bar! And yes I was sitting at the bar and was not refused entry, assuming by your inadequate reply that is what you thought) maybe you should read my original criticism again from the beginning, so your reply that your monkey at the door made the correct decision was based on your lack of understanding my review. Now..what I was pointing out was that I approached the door (after reading the menu outside) and was stopped by your employees who looked at my attire and asked me ‘where I was going and if I knew anyone in here’.. (Question) why would I need to know anyone in your place to even get passed the door staff just to either make an enquiry about a Christmas booking or to eat or drink at 6:30pm? Only after explaining it seemed that I was ok to enter.. so after looking me up and down it seems I was dressed appropriately or I wouldn’t have got to sit at the bar..comprende? Anyway I decided that this wasn’t the kind of venue to make a last minute family booking so I finished my non alcoholic drink and left all the Hugo Boss and lip filler types to pose at the bar. I think you were confusing my review with some kind of volatile issue with door door staff in general, not at all and I hope this reply clears this up for up for you. Have a nice day

The food and drink were good, not exceptional and not average. However, there were several red flags I will list in chronological order which amounted to a really poor experience. 1. Having let them know in advance that the number of people for the table had changed, and having recieved confirmation of this, we arrived and the table had the incorrect number of chairs. 2. The drinks took a very long time to be made, bearing in mind the restaurant was almost empty at 7pm on a Friday. The bartender also was incapable of making several drinks that my friends wanted. 3. The restaurant appears to be marketed as a place you dress up to go to, and surely if visitors put in the effort then they should be matched with good quality service. The table was not laid, there was simply a bucket in the middle with cutlery and paper napkins. But after a long time sitting down expecting someone to take our order, I inform a waiter that we are ready to order and find out that all food orders must be placed at the bar. This is a kind of service that does not match the marketing or look of the place, and all my friends were confused by this. 4. The mains came before the starters, and one of my friends was left without food for 15 minutes whilst we all decided to wait for him and let our food go cold. Bearing in mind, he ordered gnocchi which should take less time to cook than everything else. 5. Whilst trying to ask where his food was, I grabbed the attention of a waiter standing around doing nothing (there were lots of waiters, all doing little to nothing and just standing around chatting, the receptionist was also constantly texting and browsing on her mobile phone in plain view). He literally looked me in the eye, and said ‘er, no’ and walked off to get someone else to do it. 6. Someone walked through the restaurant with a supermarket trolley. 7. My friends went to the toilet and found they were being used as storage, filled with cardboard boxes. 8. We couldn’t all finish our food and asked if they had boxes or bags we could it in to take home, and a waiter got back to me to say ‘you’re just gonna have to stuff your face.’ After all the bad service already, that was really the cherry on top. 9. It was nice of them to bring out a complementary birthday cake, however they hadn’t even cleared the table of any food before they did which made us feel as though they were in a rush to get us out. We had a two hour slot, so it was quite unnecessary. I also don’t understand why there is a two hour slot when the restaurant was so empty anyway. 10. The restaurant was aware that it was my birthday and despite the fact that everyone was desperate to leave (including myself) I still wanted to make the most of it and take some photos with my friends in the restaurant on the first floor. The restaurant at this point was still also relatively empty, and there was nobody upstairs at all. They did not allow me to go upstairs because it was a ‘VIP’ area, not even to take a couple birthday pics. All in all, I was almost in tears when we left, extremely embarrassed because I simply wanted an enjoyable birthday meal with friends, at a place so highly endorsed and marketed. The service really made it terrible.
