Food was excellent and service great.

100% one of the best places to eat out for lunch or dinner. My husband and I went for dinner to celebrate our 3rd wedding anniversary and every bite did not disappoint. The staff are wonderful, we have a blast every time we go and boy, it is spot on EVERY TIME just go and enjoy, you will not regret it!!

A brilliant place to dine in Cheltenham. Even though 3 of our party arrived over an hour late, this wasn't an issue for the restaurant. We had a great birthday meal and a birthday card that the manager passed around in secret to get everyone in the restaurant to sign. Very highly recommend, we will return.

Outstanding staff,food,atmosphere and great price

I went for the first time with my friend and wanted to spend some time catching up while eating. I don't know what was wrong. There were plenty of empty tables the entire time but the staff just kept bothering us (e.g. asking if we want to take away, handing us the bill, walke up with the pos machine all without us asking and in the middle of conversation). It felt like they really wanted to kick us out and kept rushing us. If you have a problem with your customer taking seat for a long time, maybe explain you have a time limit??? The restaurant was not even half full. The food was ok. Didn't really taste much like chinese. But the overall experience really made it worse

As a family with three little kids we struggled to find places to eat. Staff was super friendly and helpful which made all the difference. Kids enjoyed the egg fried rice which was great. Large portion of food too. Would recommend!!!

Always love the food, portion sizes are excellent and the staff are super helpful and friendly. Only gripe is the 10% "optional but already in the card reader" service charge. Pat, maybe reconcider this? I like to tip to show my appreciation of good service, not have it forced on me... 😞

Love this place. Great food. And do much of it. Friendly staff and busy atmosphere. Plenty of nearby parking. Wheelchair accessible, beer and soft drinks. Highly recommended.

As always, great food and service, at very good value prices. 288 Bar & Wok is a little gem amongst Cheltenham's eateries.

We ordered to collect for a takeaway for a very large group of us. All of the food was absolutely delicious, the portion sizes were generous and it all tasted fresh! Well worth the money! They were absolutely brilliant about allergens and intolerances within the group and were really lovely when we turned up to collect. We would massively recommend!

The portions are massive and they’re quite cheap as well! I would say the food was more 4/5 for me, but still very much worth going! I don’t think I would necessarily go back there but it’s my friend’s favourite place and she goes there all the time! So it’s literally down to everyone’s preference. 🙌🏻

Great asian restaurant with lots of options and very good value for money. Portions can be buggy so ask before ordering to know the amount of food.

Amazing food, large portions and good prices

Everything was good. Serving portions were more than sufficient for all of us as we ordered separate items. The team was nice and the owner also attended us very well. Will come back as they have got plenty of vegetarian friendly options to choose. The owner was kind to offer us a free wine for an order mix up despite we refusing to, nice gesture so we all thank him. No wonder it's a busy place when they attend you wonderfully.

Been a month since I been there, place felt quite chilly. Food was alright, nothing to write home about. But what got me was they slipped in a tip without even asking, and honestly, there wasn't much to tip for anyway.

Went here with a couple of friends and we all agreed that the food was great! Really big portions at such a good price, and right in the town centre. We'll definitely be coming back!

Dinner for 4 at what I thought was a new restaurant- till the lovely owner mentioned they’d been there for over 18 years !! Delicious food; served hot and plenty of it. Recommend Singapore noodles, King Prawn curry, Beef in Black bean sauce, and Chicken and cashew nuts. Wonderful hosts and team front and back of house. Looking forward to visiting my ‘new’ favourite restaurant again soon.

Bar and Wok not only serves the BEST food at great prices, but is also run and managed by the nicest people. They want you tk have a lovely meal and you will. Our familiy's fave are the chicken noodles but I've never had a disappointing dish.

The chicken corn soup was good but I didn't think the king prawns in mixed vegetables and udon noodles was worth £13.50. The service is friendly and prompt. A calm and clean restaurant.

Great menu , great service, great food

Was expected high hopes from this place after reading the reviews, unfortunately i beg to differ, me and my husband had starters and mains no flavour and have eaten better chinese ready meals from a supermarket, will not be returning

I've been coming here pretty much every month for 13 years, and I've never once had a bad meal. Super friendly folks, brilliant food, and a great vibe. And Independent too!

My favourite restaurant in Cheltenham. From the minute you walk in to Bar and Wok, there is a warm and welcoming atmosphere which sets the tone for a fantastic evening or lunch. Pak Wai, Jody and the staff are not only attentive but also knowledgeable, providing excellent recommendations and a large menu. They have a wonderful range of dishes for everyone and they are always efficient while maintaining quality. Such a wonderful restaurant and I highly recommend to anyone and everyone, families, singles, couples etc. Beautiful restaurant, beautiful food and beautiful people. ❤️ Thank you Bar and Wok!

Always amazing food and great service. Had a little chat with the lady who served me who was really nice and offered me a loyalty card to come back. Explained to her I'm a not fan of loyalty cards and despite I love Bar and Wok I politely decline it. She just offered me a card with full of stamps and wanted me to believe in them. I will try and most likely will come back with it but I'll make sure I'll come back with a group of friends so your gesture of good will is paid back as least I could do for your kindness. True hospitality and no wonder you guys got a great reputation here in Cheltenham.

Great noodle bar spot! The food was plentiful and amazing quality. 👏 The service from Pac and Jody will not be forgotten as they are very friendly and even gave us a spot on their wall of fame! We will be returning back and thank you again.

Who in Cheltenham doesn't love Bar & Wok? Such a good range (especially important for me as a vegetarian who also happens to be a fussy eater). I spend way too much time thinking about their garlic pepper tofu with udon noodles.

Another brilliant meal here. I've been coming ever since it opened and just love it. Delicious food, decent portions, very good value and friendly staff that always make time to talk to you or make recommendations. Yesterday they were busy at lunchtime but the owner Pak still took the time to tell me about a new dish which was just amazing. It was crispy chilli beef, but cooked slightly differently to their menu - delicious. Highly recommend, a fantastic independent restaurant and a staple of the Cheltenham food scene.

I have been going to Bar & Wok for about five years. The staff are absolutely lovely and so attentive. The food is to die for with lovely generous portions. My last meal would be from this place - absolutely obsessed!

Another place charging a service charge for minimal service. Not as good as it was. Watching drug deals outside over dinner not worth £66 for two.

Friendly young staff. Food is average. Disappointing that there was no soap in the gents toilets or toilet paper. Therefore hygiene is compromised.

The food is delicious and very filling. You definitely get your moneys worth. The staff are very friendly and the garlic pepper chicken with egg fried rice is especially heavenly. Can't wait to go back

I ate here 3 times whilst working in Cheltenham for the week. 1st time was excellent (Singapore noodles). 2nd time was average (crispy chili beef), 3rd time was disappointing (Singapore fried rice). Turns out the Singapore rice contains different ingredients to the noodles. With the noodles you get veg (pepper, onion, spring onion and maybe fresh chili?) and a delightful sprinkling of crushed peanuts along with your meat and egg. With the Singapore rice you get the meat, egg and rice. No veg or penuts. It was still tasty enough but disappointing compared to the dish I’d had a few days before. Sadly when I queried this when paying my bill I was scoffed at and told “that sounds about right”. Like somehow I was supposed to know that the dish would be different despite nothing on the menu to suggest otherwise. The service didn’t warrant the optional service charge added to the bill as well. It’s a shame as I was really satisfied after my first visit.

Tried the new Sunday lunch menu. Great portion sizes of delicious food for trying and sharing.

Good dishes in generous portions. Wooden benches give an Asian feel. Staff are very good. Huge portion of meat in the noodle soup, might have been better with more veggies. As ever in the UK, the Japanese stuff tends to be done less authentically and served up more like Chinese. Biggest negative is that bathrooms more reminiscent of rural China than downtown Toyko.

Incredible food and incredible service. I went in with some work colleagues for some dinner and was warmly welcomed to our seats. We were trying to decide between a couple of dishes and the person taking our order was great at talking through the dishes and giving recommendations. The food itself was incredible, cooked so well and absolutely delicious. If you're in Cheltenham then you should 100% come and visit this place because it's great. I'll definitely be coming back!

Our 1st visit to Cheltenham town and we stopped for lunch at 288 Bar & Wok. The service is No. 1 from the owner and staff. It is truly warm, friendly and always going an extra mile for any requests. It was unbelievable service. I will totally recommend this restaurant anytime you are in Cheltenham. The Public Carpark is across the road. Thank you for taking good care of the family of 10 from Malaysia.

Great service, good food and a good time with friends. Food was quick to arrive and delicious. I am getting a bit of nostalgia tho as this place was an old favourite back in the day.

We always receive a warm welcome at 288 Bar & Wok. The food is amazing, it even holds up as a takeaway really well (and we live about 15 minutes away) so many options and so many ways to try all the flavours. Their range of veggie options is fantastic and the tofu they use soaks up so many amazing sauces. We love the food here and would be here every week if we could ❤️

One of my favourite restaurants in town, the family that run it are friendly and accommodating. The menu is big and reasonably priced with quick service. They accept walk ins so good if your needing a spontaneous meal out!

Pak Wai and his team hosted 24 of us for a 60th birthday and we couldn’t have been happier. They were very accommodating and helpful from our first communication, and made sure the whole night ran smoothly. Everyone was pleased with their meals, the service and the price! Can’t thank them enough.
