Came to 227 last night for dinner, one of the best meals out I’ve ever had anywhere! Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. I had the fillet steak with asparagus and prawns, my partner had the ribeye. Both were juicy, tender and melt in the mouth delicious. Kathy is a lovely host, friendly, funny and very attentive. Service was excellent. I didn’t think the dessert could top that but oh my word the chocolate brownie was divine, best ever! I will definitely be back. Lovely hidden gem on the Cregagh Road. Small menu but everything is good you’d want to eat and everything is cooked perfectly. If you go you won’t be disappointed, totally fab place :)

Absolutely amazing experience at Kathy’s restaurant. We had a very warm welcome, great service throughout and wonderful food- one of the nicest meals we have ever had. Kathy was also kind enough to give us a couple of recipes, including the fantastic chocolate brownies she made with fresh raspberries. It was a cheap Uber from town to get there so I would highly recommend venturing slightly out of the centre for something unique. Thank you Kathy and wishing you all the best! Rob & Ewa xxx

I rarely use trip adviser. Went to this fabulous gem of a restaurant. Run by an amazing Canadian Chef, who's food is non pretentious, fresh produce and petfectly cooked. As a food snob I'd no high expectations. Wow....Cleaned both my plates. My partner had dessert which was divine. Cannot rate the food and chef enough. Oh and BYO. already booked again for 2 weeks time ;)

This is our first visit since the Pandemic. Great meal. The owner Kathy was great company. Would definitely recommend a visit.

This evening we had a fabulous takeaway meal provided by Kathy from 227 Cregagh road Belfast. Starters Buffalo wings, caesar salad. And Tuscan Soup. Mains Rib eye steak. Salad and chips. Bacon and cheese burger and chips. Chicken burger chips and salad. Desert Sticky toffee pudding, and My favourite Lemon Posset. No photos as it's all gone. Thanks again Kathy

My girlfriend and I went on a Friday evening. She had the fish of the day and I had the burger, which is one of the nicest burgers I've had both in Belfast and anywhere in years. We spoke with Kathy the owner for a while after who was lovely, having moved to the area recently we will be back numerous times I'm sure. Cant recommend enough!!

Back at Kathy's place on the Cregagh Road once again for a friend's birthday celebration and, once again, everything was spot on. From the warm and friendly greeting by Kathy herself, the cosy atmosphere that she cultivates, the excellent service that she provides, to the amazing food that she produces, you just know that you're gonna be in for a real culinary treat when you come here. Usually, I do like to try different dishes off a menu, instead of ordering the same thing all the time. However, I knew a month ago when we booked, that I'd be eating steak again and will probably continue to do so on every future visit (although the fish du jour did sound great). We shared 2 prawn dishes and wings to start, which were delicious. The 3 of us had the ribeye steak and we were in food heaven! Perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked, chargrilled on the outside, melt in the mouth amazingness, all cooked perfectly medium rare as well and served with a mouth watering assortment of dips and sauces... Blue cheese, chilli butter, hollandaise and brandy and peppercorn butter... Yum!! I'm already looking forward to my next visit in a couple of weeks. Thanks again Kathy!

My wife and I popped in for a quick lunch today along with our 1 year old granddaughter. The Quality of food was excellent and really delicious while Cathy the owner was very friendly and attentive. If you are looking for a dinner at lunchtime you cannot go wrong with the choice of food on offer which caters for all tastes. Delighted we found this real gem of a place which is more superior to the normal cafe. Will definitely return.

I went for an impromptu lunch here today. The grilled chicken breast burger and chips were fantastic ❤️. Kathy the owner was more than friendly. I will definitely be back again ☺️.

This little restaurant has such a special atmosphere, it was a real treat to dine here. The establishment is an amazing one-woman-show, with candlelit tables, excellent food and delightful service. We particularly loved the delicious burgers and when we asked if there was an alternative to chips the owner offered to make us her signature smashed boiled potatoes with butter - so good!

Excellent food and fabulously friendly and professional service. Please don’t be put off by the location! Finally we have a top quality food option on the cregagh road. Park at the door- we all love convenience. I highly recommend this restaurant! Loved that we could pre-order to save time with our young children. Very child-friendly!

Three friends and I dined at Kathy's place last night and we all agreed that the steaks we had were honestly the best we'd ever had. We shared chicken wings (that blue cheese sauce!), bbq prawns and salt & chilli prawns, all excellent. Three of us had ribeyes and the fourth went for surf and turf. All cooked to perfection, so tasty. Lemon posset and chocolate brownie were the perfect end to a perfect meal. Kathy, I take my hat off to you. I don't know how you do it, you really are a one woman show and I promise that I'll be back very soon.

Just returned from my second visit to Kathy’s wonderful 227 restaurant on the Cregagh Road ... and is it any wonder I’ve booked for yet another visit before the end of November? The whole restaurant is a one-woman show. Kathy shows all her innate Canadian skills in cooking & presenting the food, organising creative menus and waiting at tables ... while also performing “front of house” duties with the cheeriest of smiles ... although I have no evidence, I suspect that she does the washing-up in the kitchen, too! Whether it’s for lunch or dinner, there is a wide selection of interesting choices available. As a fish lover, I have been ultra impressed by the meaty hake, while tonight’s pan-fried halibut in a creamy prawn sauce with asparagus was scrumptious! And there is a Salt & Chili Prawn starter that must NOT be missed. One of my pals ordered the Crab Linguine & Chili for starter ... I stole a spoonful when he wasn’t looking and now I already know what I’m having for lunch later in the month. Yum! Belfast is fast gaining a reputation as one of Europe’s top foodie destinations and 227 is a new and very valuable addition to our collection of fine restaurants.

Was brought here by friends who had been recommended by another friend. Food was very good, but the star of the evening was Cathy who single handedly prepared the food , served the table and kept the wine flowing- run off her feet but never lost the wonderful smile and who had an infectious enthusiasm . The prawn dishes were yummy and the fish and chicken dishes superb. Lemon posset and sticky toffee pudding were a perfect end to the meal. A hidden gem in n Belfast.

This small unassuming restaurant is a real gem. Cathy is very accommodating and although not on the menu, made an excellent mushroom risotto for two of our party. The food is of a high quality and the restaurant is cosy and relaxed. Would highly recommend.

We went here for our anniversary treat. The service was excellent. We went for the special tomohawk steak, the meat was cooked to perfection and came with sides. Followed by lemmon posset also delicious. This restaurant is a hidden gem.

Went to the paired dinner and wine evening in 227 on 28th June. The food was excellent as were the wines. All cooked and served by Kathy. I’d recommend highly - give it a try and you won’t be disappointed.
