1st Choice Oriental in Ipswich

Take away ordered through UberEats - the irony being a notification from them recommending this restaurant. Pretty much everything we ordered (my wife enjoyed the veg spring rolls) was completely bland and soggy - literally zero flavour. Contacted UberEats who said nothing to do with us, tell the restaurant, which I did through their review service on the app, however no refund/apology. Won’t be using either Uber Eats or this restaurant again. Hope this can serve as a warning for anyone else after a tasty Chinese takeaway on a Saturday evening.

I’ve been using 1st Choice Oriental for many years and have always enjoyed their food. With the current conditions I was so pleased when we were recently able to have a delivery (left on the door step). The food was as good as usual and it was a nice pick me up for my daughter and myself

I have been using this place for a few months now. I have never had an issue and the food is always spot on. Very friendly staff including the delivery drivers too.

This is the only Chinese we will eat now. Most delicious food. Friendly people at the end of the phone. Never had an issue with delivery. Highly recommend!

Wouldn’t eat here again if it was free, chicken was hard as nails and tasteless/frozen , customer service was astonishingly bad to add to the experience. WORST CHINESE IVE EATEN IN MY LIFE WISH I COULD SUBMIT ZERO STARS, 1 STAR IS two too many.

I've been going to 1st Oriental for the last 7 years. Always happy with the service and the quality of food.

I got a take away from there today. They messed up my order they sent me the wrong dish. When i called up to say they had made a mistake the young girl on the end of the phone was very rude and said that is what i ordered. I said it certanly wasnt because no one in the family likes that dish. She then said there is nothing we can do it was my mistake we did the irder over the phone and she took the order. Is was blunt and rude then hung up the phone. I would never use them again and the food was very poor today they used to be very good. Not a happy customer

First Choice is our local Chinese, only a few minutes walk down the road. It never fails to impress. The food is cooked freshly and quickly. I always opt for the pork fried rice and salt and chilli shredded chicken!! Mini pancake rolls are to die for too!!!! I'm always reluctant to go anywhere else!

Takeaway..charges more than on menu, crispy duck was dry, found only 2 pieces of chicken and 2 prawns only in house special chow mien, chips chewy, prawn crackers overcooked. Don't know what's happened here, it used to be our favourite!! Won't use ever again.

One of the best Chinese Takeaway's in Ipswich. The food is fresh, hot & full of flavour. Good portions too! I've personally never experienced them being late or something being left off our order. Be warned, there can be long waiting times for delivery ~ especially over the weekend. We usually collect if the wait is long, but that's our choice!

Food was rubbish, didn't deliver complete order and when I phoned to ask where the food was, the guy told me I never ordered it and if I wanted extra would have to pay for it, absolutely disgusted with the lack of interest, will not be using these guys again!

This has to be the best oriental takeaway in Ipswich!.... great food not swimming in oil, good delivery times and always tastes fresh and happy to personalise dishes upon request...Highly recommended! Also they have a 5 star hygiene rating!

Food very nice really fresh, the ribs are very good, one of my favorite's they do get very busy so avoid waiting to long and order early to pick up.

Well we regularly use 1st choice oriental and were shocked to see a few poor reviews for this place... in our experience the food has been fantastic, I have tried most things on the menu now and they are happy to personalise dishes upon request. Dont be put off by the few poor reviews, this place is the best in the area since the closure of lucky star. The venue is clean andbthe cooking area can be seen which is also clean.

Once again ordered for a delivery and again got my address wrong even though they confirmed it on the phone. To do it once I accepted and gave them another chance but twice is ridiculous. Never did receive my food!!! Avoid these like the plague!!!!!!!

Took 2 hours to deliver, they took their phone off the hook so we couldn't contact them and the food delivered was very bland. Very poor all round.

Fair play to 1st choice, we turned up at 9:30pm on New Year's Eve for food which they reluctantly cooked for us. They looked very busy out in the kitchen but we didn't have to wait too long. It's just a shame that the Malaysian fried rice was bland and the smoked chicken just ok. Asia delight is much much better
