The curry was extremely watery and lacked flavour. The naans were well overcooked and the Poppadoms were soggy. Took an hour to come to us so was luke-warm when it arrived.

First time trying these guys and not disappointed. My new favourite Indian in Ipswich.

This is by far the best curry house I’ve had food from. The food is perfect every time, the price is unbelievable for the quality. Not to mention the delivery is always as quick as possible, and the driver is always polite, welcoming and thankful. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough, they are by far mine and my family’s favourite place to order from. Thank you all at the Bay of Bengal for you food and service.

We have used this place a couple of times via just eat, both times we have had to call and ask where the food is? Over 2hrs waiting the second time!!!! Food is nice but won't be using them again....

Full of flavour and good portions.

The chicken tikka mossala and lamb madras were great! The peshwari naan was good. The plain naan was a little tough, though. And the pakora were a bit soggy. First time I tried this place, I'll order again for sure.

As always, everything was perfect. The food, the delivery time and the menu was perfect. The delivery driver was very polite, friendly and kind. This has become our whole household’s favourite restaurant.

Had the worst taste of my life , I ordered from this restaurant and got biryani with stale chicken and raw chicken in the forn of tandoori chicken . Uber eats take no reaponsibility for food quality , neither they accept any customer complaints . Beware and stay away from ordering with this cheat restaurant .

The food was incredible, delivery was super early which was a wonderful surprise. The price was more than affordable and completely worth it, and not to mention Bay of Bengal kindly threw in two extra onion Bhajis which was very much appreciated. I will certainly be a regular customer from now on. Top marks to Bay of Bengal!

food finally delivered after 2 hours 20 mins - jalfreezi usually cause my head to sweat, this one didn't !

First time trying this Indian as its completely the opposite side of town for me but i wasn't left disappointed, food arrived nice and hot to my location 3 1/2 miles away and the portion sizes were more than enough. The chicken pieces in the Achari had great texture and some nice charring on the edges and the lime pickle had a good amount of zing, the Biryani was nicely cooked with good bite to the rice and a nice vegetable curry on the side, and finally the sweet korma had a good strong sweet coconut depth.

Okay so im originally from Birmingham(The curry capital of the uk) When i first moved to Suffolk 20 years ago i found it difficult to find the quality of Indian food i was accustom to. After 10 years(from 2003 to 2013) i found Bay of Bengal and the food was as good as i ordered in Birmingham, i asked the owner at the time for a mixed Madras(ckn,lamb,prawns) to which at the time they did not have on the menu the owner did not shy away from the challenge and produced the best curry i had tasted in 10 years being away from Birmingham since then i have ordered near on 100 times from the addresses ive lived at and every time the bay of bangal have provide the BEST INDIAN FOOD EXPERIANCE i could ever recommend. if you have never purchased from them then i would recommend you you stray away from your normal Indian takeaway and enjoy the the most authentic flavoursome experience that i personally have been enjoying for the last 10 years. I'm 48 now so please try this restaurant you will not be disappointed.

The app didnt let me track the drivers location unlike previous orders and the driver marked the delivery as delivered ten minutes or so before he got to me

Ordered from this takeaway last night for the first time, loved it, full of flavour and very well made.

Excellent quality. Fresh and really tasty. I had the madras which had a good consistency sauce and lots of lamb pieces which were tender and well seasoned. The spiciness was hot for a madras but would rather this than a mild one for sure. The Onion bhaji tasted fresh and had a nice crispiness to it. The delivery was accurate and arrived early, which after a 12 hour shift was very welcome.

The food was great but it took over an hour and a half to arrive.

Food hot, on time tasty defo would order again, maybe next week Would reccommend

I called the restaurant 3 times and my order was very late , I phoned through to the restaurant to make sure they got my note about the allergy, I asked the delivery time and he said around 20 minutes , over an hour still no food called again once it arrived my food was Luke warm not hot and I couldn’t eat it such a shame because usually the food is good at the Bay of Bengal, I tried to call the restaurant back to say about my food but no answer

Off horrible smelling mint sauce, 100% past it's use by date, it had a hardened layer on the top of the sauce. Rest of the food was ok

The rice was ok, otherwise everything tasted funny and the veggie curry was made with cheap frozen diced veg. Not very nice. Wouldn’t order from here again.

Lovely food but arrived super late just like it has done previously

We made a pre-order at about 6:40 and were given an original delivery time of 7:45-8:05. We were told about a delay, and a new time of 8:05-8:25 was given. When it still had not arrived at 8:35, we called the restaurant, who said it would take 15 minutes. It arrived 35 minutes later making it nearly an hour and a half later than the earliest we had been told. A couple of the dishes were also not great quality (tough naan and prawns, chapiti was more like a store bought tortilla wrap). Quality was not worth the wait, also disappointed about the restaurant not being able to give an accurate time when called.

The food is absolutely delicious, never had any issues with them delivering either, it's always on time or a little bit early. The delivery driver is really friendly too. I would 100% recommend.

Been ordering from here for a while now and it's always being spot on, but tonight it was horrendous. The bombay aloo arrived green and rotten, I've never tasted something so vile. It was cold on the inside and inedible. This will be the last time I ever order from here again.

Excellent food as per usual but sent out a hot bowl instead of a mild bowl. No point in doing anything Nye as they were very busy,apart from that is was very good

Food was delayed from the restaurant, then it took the delivery 30 mins to arrive after the notification to say they had left the restaurant.

Don't wish to say this is the best Indian takeaway I have ever had in Ipswich but its true as I have never had Indian outside of London. Truly great tasting good. I have only order once and two items, but they tastes really good. I would like to order again but something different. Also i got a free vegetarian curry with my order too.

Waited over 2 hours for food. When it arrived it was quite bland. Definitely not the normal quality or service. A bottle of coke was included as an apology but this does not really feel enough

Salad not much to go by. Just lettuce and 1 slice of tomato. On this visit the chips were like cardboard however the main curry was outstanding.

Quality of food was as good as I've had locally. Portion sizes were plentiful & price was incredibly competitive now that everyone seems to be increasing or adding extra delivery fees. Will be using again soon.

First time ordering from here for some time mainly because of the pandemic. It's still as good as I remember with a great selection of dishes to choose from at reasonable prices. Definitely recommend giving them a try I don't think you'll be disappointed great food 👍.

Gorgeous food, we've been using this place for years and it's never disappointed us. Kind manager and friendly delivery drivers. I have IBS and this is the only Indian takeaway I've ever found that I don't get pain from after eating. Thank you.

This is about the 5th time ordering as food is always lovely but food is always late. It arrived hot so it’s definitely not the delivery man’s fault just frustrating it’s always late!
