Had a meal here this evening with my friend before we went into Theatre for The Drifters Show. I was very disappointed with my Thai Green Chicken Curry. It looked like green slop but I though it might taste ok so I started eating it. Unfortunately most of my chicken pieces were pink or not cooked through so I left most of my meal. I didn't make a fuss as I didn't want to cause any embarrassment to my friend or make a scene as the restaurant was very busy. I certainly won't be ordering that again. Dessert and service was excellent.

We dined on a friday evening and took advantage of their 20% discount offer, my husband has lots of allergies and they were so accommodating and understanding about this, they even sat is away from other diners as my hubbys allergies are airborne especially with fish, we were served by monika and ellis, both were very good, friendly and helpful and also knowledgeable about dietary requirements, the food was tasty, would like more choice for vegans as this would make us return more often

Great service from Tez who was incredibly helpful with menu selection. Food came quickly and was very tasty. Combination of roasts and other menu items. All 4 of us enjoyed our meals and dessert was delicious too. Would recommend to others, great venue, great food with exceptional views

Had our Xmas staff party here last year and it was lovely, hence we came back. Our night was cancelled in December due to the storms so we rebooked for tonight. Food came out cold and it wasn't a patch on last years food. Frankly, awful. No atmosphere at all. No entertainment or music. They were more focused on the conference at the other end of the room ! We are paying customers too ! We will not be coming back. It's not cheap and we came away very disappointed.

Good restaurant with sea views, varied menu choice, well priced, a good selection of beers and wines. Our waitress was Lucy and she really couldn't of done anymore for us, she was very attentive, as to be fair were all the staff we encountered, they are a credit to their managers.

Recently visited for my wife’s 40th birthday. We were a large group (38) and prior to the day the organisation was faultless. Sara provided lots of other useful information/ contacts to ensure everything was prepared. On the day staff were attentive and everything went well with the service & the food was delicious. Nothing was too much trouble. Special mention to Maisie who went above and beyond on the day. Thank you very much; we will be back soon.

what a load of crap they robbed you on prices tickets were baught a month ago and had seating numbers on them for a mowtown night which didnt exists. robbed on prices for drinks . just d js which i thought were suppose be a stage show the tables they had were only for having food if you wanted meal.tickets were £5 each we got few month ago,got 3 rounds of drinks every round was same yet the prices wasnt its robbery lucky im glad we had something at home before going out disgusting there i wont go there again .

We had a great time at 1891 with friends. The staff were attentive and there is a good choice on the menu. We had 3 courses which were all very well made with no complaints. Unfortunately, some of the deserts were unavailable, including our first choice, but we enjoyed what we had.

If looking to go anywhere for Sunday lunch, think elsewhere! I had the roast beef that was tuff. (The dog had it) luckily the people we were with didn’t like parsnips! That was the highlight of my meal. The roast potatoes didn’t taste of much nor rest. The extra veg were spoiled by the red cabbage with cranberries and too much cinnamon. In fact the whole venue smelled of this signature dish 😢 I doubt if we will ever go again! Other venues that do a lot better.

Delicious food and excellent service

Had the pre theatre meal was fabulous food delicious . Staff here are lovely very attentive had booked for Restuarant upstairs as someone with reduced mobility need lift. They rang day before to rearrange our table and set it downstairs for us. 2 brilliant waitresses can't remember names..Food 10 out of 10..

Great place, came to see a show. Good views. Lovely meal, we had the fish and chips, we were served by Tez, she was friendly and professional.

Lovely food, fantastic staff especially Tez, couldn't do enough for us. We will definitely come back. It was my mam's birthday they made it very special.

We were greeted on arrival by Lucy who walked us to our seats and advised she would be looking after us for the evening. She was so attentive and warm! Both courses came out promptly, were really well presented and perfectly portioned. The Porcetta was delicious and my partner loved the Thai Green Curry👌 We were asked if everything was ok with our meals during and when collecting our plates. We were offered another drink. It was easy to grab waiters attention if we needed something as they were all on hand. It was seamless from start to finish, and the place had such a nice feel to it. We will deff do pre-theatre dining before our next show🥹❤️ Highly recommend!!

I can honestly say we've not experienced a better Sunday roast in a very long time - amazing portions, beef was delicious as was the brilliant choice of veg. Staff were very nice xxx

We went to see show waddywaddy. No food,atmosphere was buzzing. Been a few times so far its been a good show and really enjoyed the evening.

Fantastic place and atmosphere. Love Sunday lunch although they have reduced the veg portions substantially. When asked for more it becomes chargeable. We were told it was reduced due to wastage but that would only apply on an individual or table basis.

A really great night out! Wonderful food, swiftly served and well presented at a reasonable price. Ample seating with a great sea view. Friendly, efficient staff. Lovely, chilled ambience. Ample parking. And a special thanks to our excellent waitress "Tez".

Had Sunday lunch today with you . Absolutely beautiful, beef was tender and succulent. Staff as usual were very friendly and helpful. You are one of the best. 10/10

The roast dinner was okay. Asked for vegetables to be separated from cauliflower cheese. The only downsize was roast potatoes mushy inside not crisp but burnt.

Booked a pre show meal for a mum/daughter night out to watch The Shires. We were not disappointed. The food was well presented and beautiful, service was fantastic. All staff were friendly and on the ball with check backs and topping up drinks and water. Atmosphere was lovely. Will definitely come again. Thank you for making our special evening even more special.

Posh place for Rhyl. Let's hope the rest of the town can up its game to match.

What a really disappointing meal and evening - our table wasn’t ready in time although it was almost empty and plenty of staff around - whilst waiting for table we hovered around the bar to order a drink - nobody acknowledged us. Starters were nice so encouraged our expectations , staff never checked all was ok though and we had to call over for more drinks (only four of us ) We were asked if we wanted the desert menu before our mains arrived. Steaks orders were a well done and a medium well done - one was more medium rare and extremely chewy with lots of gristle that couldn’t be finished , the other was medium and not well done and too chewy and wasn’t finished - managed half reluctantly because of price / gave the feedback as to why it was left / and would have expected either chef or shift manager to acknowledge the feedback - had the numerous available staff been attentive and asked if all was ok we would have expected a replacement but this just did not happen Burgers were poor quality and very salty . Empty glasses were not cleared from the table even though we had other drinks . Bill came and was incorrectly charged for the spritzers overcharged by £6 even though the offer card was placed on the tables / no discount offered or apology for the poor food that we had returned and given feedback - no sign of shift manager to acknowledge the feedback either . No thank you or acknowledgement when we left / very poor and disappointing service all round / very poor quality food served for the price and very poorly managed

We had the mother in law with us, she finds it difficult to walk but it was ok for her. We called in on the off chance, we weren't disappointed. It was lovely.

Lovely setting, with outside seating available, on the beach. We had the small plates, which were amazing - the best we've EVER had! Good service and, overall, a very enjoyable experience. Will most definitely return!

We couldn't believe how hard it was to find somewhere in Rhyl to have lunch inside with a dog! Did a bit of searching and found 1891. The staff were really friendly, the service was quick and the food delicious. Highly recommend!

Excellent food, excellent customer service by Tez and Ellis 👌above and beyond normal customer service, knowledge of menu etc. Asked for a drink they don't normally do and Tez made it for my husband. 2 meals and 2 drinks at £66 a little on the pricey side for mediocre food. The chicken starter was well over cooked as was the batter on the fish main. With very little taste. Very poor meals over all and would not eat here again. Good service and location great.

Went with my 2 sister in laws before the show. Food was good. Staff very pleasant. Bit annoying we had to queue to pay for food when it was waitress service. Show started at 7.30, we waited quite a while to pay as queue was rather long

Ate there yesterday before a show. Food was excellent. We were seated by a very pleasant and efficient manager, and our waitress was a really pleasant Lucy, could not have wished for more. Well done 1891. We will return.

Lovely Lunch Time meal from the Terrace menu ..would have completed the meal for a choice of a couple of desserts to be on the menu ...ice cream ...sorbet ...cheese &crackers

A wonderful restaurant and terrace which has never dissapointed me yet. Lovely friendly atmosphere, beautoful views and excellent quality food at a reaonable price. Today was a lunch stop off...vegetarian gyros was outstanding...as was the friendly service from the young lady serving!! Well done

Lucky enough to be treated out to lunch by our lovely son and daughter in law, for father's day. Lovely friendly staff greated us with a warm welcome. Taken to our table immediately on arrival, overlooking the prom and sea view on a very sunny day. Service was quick and efficient by our waitresses, and attentive restaurant manager. The food was absolutely delicious and of very good quality. Thank you to one and all for an excellent afternoon. Looking forward to returning.

Unfortunately will not be coming here again. We used to call in whilst walking along the coastal path but the last time we called I paid nearly £7 for a pint and £4 for a coffee??? It's nice in there but there's no way they justify these prices

Really good experience, especially as booked in relatively last minute, while passing through the area when visiting family. My wife knew even went to school (same class) as the MD (Jamie G) and suggested visiting. (Ohhh.. how Rhyl has changed since we grew up nearby, all them years ago). Anyways... service was excellent all the way throughout, and food was impeccable. Big tick VG to all! Photos show: Roasted Chicken (Soup of the Day), and Calamari for Starters. We both had the Blade of Beef for our main, which cooked to perfection and "melt in the mouth." For dessert, I had the Passionfruit Cheescake, and the dear wife had the Creme Brulee, which again were both delicious. The atmosphere was great, with views across the Sunny Irish Sea and the huge Windfarm. Lots have changed on the Rhyl promenade (including the ye olde Sun Centre detaching itself to further up the road, weirdly enough. Drinks were received well, although the cocktails were a bit on the tasteless side, to be fair. But not enough to knock down the score. It's much better than ever before (the ye olde Sun Centre days), and I hope to not leave it another 20+ years before stopping by again.

A fantastic experience with wonderful views. On arrival we were greeted by one of the lovely young staff members, who took us to a table by the window which was fantastic as the views are just stunning. Although very quiet for a Friday evening the ambience was great and the whole experience was very relaxing and enjoyable. The food came at a good speed and was all very hot and tasty. The drink selection was great and we were never left waiting. I would absolutely recommend this place not only was the food wonderful along with stunning views but the staff are a real credit and really provided some wonderful service.

the food was excellent and our servers lucy and ruby were lovely, polite and friendly. they couldn’t do enough for us food came really quick.

I've previously rated this 5 stars but on this visit I was let down by the length of time it took to prepare and serve our meals, despite there only being one other customer at the time who arrived after us and was served before us. Perhaps advising how long a meal will take would be good customer service. Plus, £3 for a can of Pepsi Max is outrageous

When deciding where to go we decided on 1891 because of the fabulous pictures of the seaside view and it did not disappoint, it was absolutely stunning. Wonderful view, comfy seating, delicious high quality food, lovely cocktails but one of the highlights has to be Tez who looked after us the whole time and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and more. Highly recommend and thank you Tez!

Had lunch with me Uncle, had the flatbread pizza with meat, it was quite delicious.

Probably the nicest place you will find on Rhyl seafront.You have the outside terrace,the indoor bar,the restaurant and of course the theatre.This complex is all new,modern and has young enthusiastic staff to help with any queries.The views from the restaurant especially the sunsets are amazing aswell as down to the the beachfront.The food was really good the night we were there before taking in a show.You can also park up and have a leisurely walk along the seafront and take in the amusements,the RNLI and the town itself .

Our 1st time at 1891 Rhyl. Lovely interior. Great sea view from the restaurant. Staff very well turned out in smart pressed uniform. Lucy was our waitress and looked after us with service and did a really good job. Food presentation, flavour, quality and quantity was brilliant. The best roast beef Sunday lunch we have had for a very long time. To be fair it was faultless. We look forward to visiting again!

Went for our staff Xmas do. Food was excellent but let down by dessert - the cheesecake was in fact a dense tort that was so heavy I couldn't finish it, Hence 4/5. Service was excellent 👌🏼 5/5 Atmosphere - nice fairy light curtains and restaurant felt quality, but the disco was on a carpeted area, dancing wasn't easy here as my feet couldn't slide plus the DJ looked disinterested. The beats were too samey, the disco was a major letdown after a very good meal.

I have been there with 1 Friend of Mine and idk maybe we was just 2 people the Food wasn't that what i expected. Maybe i felt how it looked from OUTSIDE it must be that good from INSIDE but was a lil bit dissapointed. I must mention that the other elements such as the meat and vegetables, were satisfactory. It is my hope that the establishment takes feedback like this into consideration and makes the necessary improvements to provide a more enjoyable dining experience in the future. Had a reservation for weeks. Came to the day to a restricted menu. With nothing on it worth buying at a stupid price. Ruined our anniversary, well done.

Everything was lovely we didnt expected to be that good tbh. Food was amazing the only thing wasnt that good as it looked was the burger maybe its just a different taste 🤷 but we will be back there again and we can recommend it to anyone!

Just attended your Rhyl Airshow event and wanted to say how great the afternoon was. All staff went out of their way to help me and my disabled husband. The food was great and the whole afternoon was very well organised. Had a great day. Thanks from us both.

Food was amazing but the service not so much. We were a party of 12 booked in for 7.30 when the place closes at 8 and we definitely felt unwelcome. We weren't asked if we'd like a dessert & when we asked for the dessert menu after half an hour of being ignored the waitress tutted & walked off.

What a fantastic place. Booked for the airshow and run into some unwanted people, and the manager, MD couldn't have been more attentive a understanding. They made the day very special. 5*

Very disappointed today went for a drink during the Rhyl airshow and was told tickets only I live in Rhyl and often attend concerts and nights out at the theatre you never need a ticket on a cold wet windy night in December you should look after the people that live here and not the cash laden tourists I'll be thinking twice before having another night out there

Didn't eat. didn't cater for allergy. couldn't get a tea at the upstairs bar had to go downstairs for it luckily a nice member of staff carried it up for me. The group did what they did OK

We booked for a baby shower and had afternoon tea...wow!..it was amazing! Sandwiches,cakes galore and sausage rolls,absolutely beautiful.The service we recieved was 10/10 also. The gentleman was always popping over to see if we needed tea/coffee refils or anything else. Lovely and clean everywhere and views were georgeous! Couldnt have asked for anything better.highly recommended.

You can enjoy a beautiful view of Sun set while dining. First floor front tables are highly recommended for a view of sea.

Celebration family lunch , there were 15 of us and the food was good , staff and service were excellent

I recently had the Sunday roast at this establishment, and I must say, it was a disappointment. While I was expecting the gravy to be homemade and flavorful, it unfortunately ruined the entire plate of food. The gravy had a peculiar and off-putting taste that was difficult to identify—is it sour, is it sweet, or has it gone off? This discrepancy made it difficult to enjoy the meal fully. I believe that a well-crafted gravy can significantly enhance the overall dining experience, especially when paired with a Sunday roast. However, in this case, the gravy was a letdown and overshadowed the other components of the dish. I must say, I was quite disappointed with the quality of the gravy. While taste preferences can vary from person to person, I would recommend the establishment to re-evaluate their gravy recipe to ensure consistency and quality. A homemade gravy should be the highlight of a Sunday roast, and it is disheartening when it falls short of expectations. Despite this setback, I must mention that the other elements of the Sunday roast, such as the meat and vegetables, were satisfactory. It is my hope that the establishment takes feedback like this into consideration and makes the necessary improvements to provide a more enjoyable dining experience in the future.

Decided to go for the pre theatre dinner as I was going to watch Totally Tina, as there are very few eating venues in the area and reviews sounded good. We were seated quickly and menus given. Wine list limited and only 4 red wines to choose from, and the one I chose was £23, and at that price would expect a much better quality (I've had better in restaurants at £15-£18) Choices are very limited, and at £23 for 2 courses and the type of venue, I would expect better choices than the items you find on most gastro pub menus. Gammon and Burger, View of the coast from our table was spoilt by the big balloon that has been installed. Would not go back in any hurry.

Well where do I start . We couldn't Book a table for 10 at 7.30 so we had to be there for 7.00 We ordered our drinks at 7.15 pm and we didn't get them until 8.00 we were given the menu not much choice burgers gammon salad and that was it we asked for the other menu and was told that the only one was the pre theater menu .it was awful burgers were disappointed the gammon was not gammon it was bacon chop the egg was black on the back the chips were ,I can't explain them dry hard and peas tasteless AS YOU CAN IMAGINE WE WON'T BE COMING BACK . aas for the bill extortionate and drinks the same when we got them .
