the food was excellent and our servers lucy and ruby were lovely, polite and friendly. they couldn’t do enough for us food came really quick.

I've previously rated this 5 stars but on this visit I was let down by the length of time it took to prepare and serve our meals, despite there only being one other customer at the time who arrived after us and was served before us. Perhaps advising how long a meal will take would be good customer service. Plus, £3 for a can of Pepsi Max is outrageous

When deciding where to go we decided on 1891 because of the fabulous pictures of the seaside view and it did not disappoint, it was absolutely stunning. Wonderful view, comfy seating, delicious high quality food, lovely cocktails but one of the highlights has to be Tez who looked after us the whole time and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and more. Highly recommend and thank you Tez!

Had lunch with me Uncle, had the flatbread pizza with meat, it was quite delicious.

Probably the nicest place you will find on Rhyl seafront.You have the outside terrace,the indoor bar,the restaurant and of course the theatre.This complex is all new,modern and has young enthusiastic staff to help with any queries.The views from the restaurant especially the sunsets are amazing aswell as down to the the beachfront.The food was really good the night we were there before taking in a show.You can also park up and have a leisurely walk along the seafront and take in the amusements,the RNLI and the town itself .

Visited recently before a show in the pavilion, would definitely come again, good options and flexible with changes on the Menu when asked. Friendly staff and good service.

Our 1st time at 1891 Rhyl. Lovely interior. Great sea view from the restaurant. Staff very well turned out in smart pressed uniform. Lucy was our waitress and looked after us with service and did a really good job. Food presentation, flavour, quality and quantity was brilliant. The best roast beef Sunday lunch we have had for a very long time. To be fair it was faultless. We look forward to visiting again!

We had a great time at 1891 with friends. The staff were attentive and there is a good choice on the menu. We had 3 courses which were all very well made with no complaints. Unfortunately, some of the deserts were unavailable, including our first choice, but we enjoyed what we had.

Went for our staff Xmas do. Food was excellent but let down by dessert - the cheesecake was in fact a dense tort that was so heavy I couldn't finish it, Hence 4/5. Service was excellent 👌🏼 5/5 Atmosphere - nice fairy light curtains and restaurant felt quality, but the disco was on a carpeted area, dancing wasn't easy here as my feet couldn't slide plus the DJ looked disinterested. The beats were too samey, the disco was a major letdown after a very good meal.

I have been there with 1 Friend of Mine and idk maybe we was just 2 people the Food wasn't that what i expected. Maybe i felt how it looked from OUTSIDE it must be that good from INSIDE but was a lil bit dissapointed. I must mention that the other elements such as the meat and vegetables, were satisfactory. It is my hope that the establishment takes feedback like this into consideration and makes the necessary improvements to provide a more enjoyable dining experience in the future. Had a reservation for weeks. Came to the day to a restricted menu. With nothing on it worth buying at a stupid price. Ruined our anniversary, well done.

Everything was lovely we didnt expected to be that good tbh. Food was amazing the only thing wasnt that good as it looked was the burger maybe its just a different taste 🤷 but we will be back there again and we can recommend it to anyone!

Just attended your Rhyl Airshow event and wanted to say how great the afternoon was. All staff went out of their way to help me and my disabled husband. The food was great and the whole afternoon was very well organised. Had a great day. Thanks from us both.

Very disappointed today went for a drink during the Rhyl airshow and was told tickets only I live in Rhyl and often attend concerts and nights out at the theatre you never need a ticket on a cold wet windy night in December you should look after the people that live here and not the cash laden tourists I'll be thinking twice before having another night out there

What a fantastic place. Booked for the airshow and run into some unwanted people, and the manager, MD couldn't have been more attentive a understanding. They made the day very special. 5*

Food was amazing but the service not so much. We were a party of 12 booked in for 7.30 when the place closes at 8 and we definitely felt unwelcome. We weren't asked if we'd like a dessert & when we asked for the dessert menu after half an hour of being ignored the waitress tutted & walked off.

Didn't eat. didn't cater for allergy. couldn't get a tea at the upstairs bar had to go downstairs for it luckily a nice member of staff carried it up for me. The group did what they did OK

We booked for a baby shower and had afternoon tea...wow!..it was amazing! Sandwiches,cakes galore and sausage rolls,absolutely beautiful.The service we recieved was 10/10 also. The gentleman was always popping over to see if we needed tea/coffee refils or anything else. Lovely and clean everywhere and views were georgeous! Couldnt have asked for anything better.highly recommended.

You can enjoy a beautiful view of Sun set while dining. First floor front tables are highly recommended for a view of sea.

Celebration family lunch , there were 15 of us and the food was good , staff and service were excellent

I recently had the Sunday roast at this establishment, and I must say, it was a disappointment. While I was expecting the gravy to be homemade and flavorful, it unfortunately ruined the entire plate of food. The gravy had a peculiar and off-putting taste that was difficult to identify—is it sour, is it sweet, or has it gone off? This discrepancy made it difficult to enjoy the meal fully. I believe that a well-crafted gravy can significantly enhance the overall dining experience, especially when paired with a Sunday roast. However, in this case, the gravy was a letdown and overshadowed the other components of the dish. I must say, I was quite disappointed with the quality of the gravy. While taste preferences can vary from person to person, I would recommend the establishment to re-evaluate their gravy recipe to ensure consistency and quality. A homemade gravy should be the highlight of a Sunday roast, and it is disheartening when it falls short of expectations. Despite this setback, I must mention that the other elements of the Sunday roast, such as the meat and vegetables, were satisfactory. It is my hope that the establishment takes feedback like this into consideration and makes the necessary improvements to provide a more enjoyable dining experience in the future.

Decided to go for the pre theatre dinner as I was going to watch Totally Tina, as there are very few eating venues in the area and reviews sounded good. We were seated quickly and menus given. Wine list limited and only 4 red wines to choose from, and the one I chose was £23, and at that price would expect a much better quality (I've had better in restaurants at £15-£18) Choices are very limited, and at £23 for 2 courses and the type of venue, I would expect better choices than the items you find on most gastro pub menus. Gammon and Burger, View of the coast from our table was spoilt by the big balloon that has been installed. Would not go back in any hurry.

Well where do I start . We couldn't Book a table for 10 at 7.30 so we had to be there for 7.00 We ordered our drinks at 7.15 pm and we didn't get them until 8.00 we were given the menu not much choice burgers gammon salad and that was it we asked for the other menu and was told that the only one was the pre theater menu .it was awful burgers were disappointed the gammon was not gammon it was bacon chop the egg was black on the back the chips were ,I can't explain them dry hard and peas tasteless AS YOU CAN IMAGINE WE WON'T BE COMING BACK . aas for the bill extortionate and drinks the same when we got them .

Choice on the menu is t the best plenty of staff but they don't seem to work efficiently. One of my group ordered steak only to be told when all the meals were served that there was no steak available. Beautiful venue however I wouldn't go back for food just drinks next time. Shame really the location has huge potential.

Starter was burnt and the main course wasn't enough and the pineapple was burnt on top of the gammon

We had a lovely family & friends 40th birthday celebration on Saturday night our table was right by the window with fabulous views our food lots of different dishes was absolutely amazing the staff are really lovely nothing is too much trouble loved it there will definitely be going back.

This is a lovely modern restaurant overlooking the sea. It has nice atmosphere . Unfortunately we had booked a pre theatre meal but could not relax & enjoy it as it was so busy & the staff were obviously under pressure though they were trying to help. People were complaining about their meals & sending them back to the kitchen . Consequently we only had time to rush one course otherwise we would have missed the beginning of our show. In fact we got into the theatre as the act were coming on stage. We had booked in plenty of time to have a 3 course meal had we wanted or so we thought . Our food was ok but not special. I had a salmon steak on a bed of risotto. The salmon was nice but the risotto was very mediocre. My friend had a steak pie which she said was quie nice. I think they need to either employ more staff to cope with pre - theatre meals or restrict the number of bookings so people can enjoy their meals before the shows begin.

Great food ,nice seating , great views across the bay.....friendly service and very reasonable prices. Plenty of beer available on draft and a wide range of gins.....what's not to like about this venue.

Fantastic venue with lovely views. Sit down, informal, and sofa areas all available. Along with a good-sized dance floor. The food was excellent (portion size too big), drink prices about average, excellent service.

We had a table bookek for 18.15, giving us we thought ample time to enjoy our meal before the 19.30 show. We were still waiting for our food at 19.00, and after asking if our food was on its way, it turned up about 5 minutes later. My wife's peas were cold while mine were undercooked, and the chips were stale and looked and tasted as if they had been in the fryer 3 or 4 times. I asked the barman, the only staff visible, to send a waitress to my table, he came over himself and listened to our complaints. He went away and returned, saying we would not be charged, which I was happy with. He then took my name and contact number, offering us a free main course at our next visit, and somebody would be in touch to arrange this, I am to date still waiting for this contact.

Had to wait 45 minutes and then had to send some of it back because it was cold. Chips tasted as if they had been in the frier at least three times and were rock hard. We did complain and did not pay. We were asked to leave our number so that we could have a free meal at a later date. Unfortunately we are still waiting for the call.

Had the afternoon tea which was amazing. Failed to eat everything so had a doggy bag to take home. Staff very friendly and attentive and great seaviews.

A return visit to 1891 to have dinner with family. As per our previous visit, food was delicious and all the staff were very friendly and efficient. I even got a little birthday surprise from them all too. I am sure we will be back for future family get togethers.

Had a great family meal in a cool restaraunt and staff were all fabulous especially Marika who tended to us all night with a big smile..😁🙂

Lovely meal and views at the 1891. We had steak and the gammon meals, recommend highly. Service is a little slower but they try their best and they don't stop, so that's for the owner to address. Friendly staff, will be visiting again and again.

6 of us booked for 330pm took quite a while for us to get a servers attention the drinks then took a long time to get to the table then another wait starters, mains & more drinks & for dessert. Food was 5 stars. but although quite a few staff not enough attention paid to customers, struggled for space as glasses not cleared,not 1 server approached us, each time we had to say excuse me to ask for each & every course, from entering to ordering, no senior members of staff around or management to give staff direction which is sincerely needed.

Brought meal out with the wrong meat to what I ordered. Returned it, but brought back exactly as it came but with a side plate of beef..... really!!!!! Beef was by far the worse I have tasted in the whole of North Wales. Long wait between starters and main being brought out. Probably 25 minutes. I'd not eat there again

Had Sunday lunch, beef difficult to eat roast potatoes likewise overcooked and hard. We’ve eaten there many times today we were very disappointed with the food it’s not up to the previous standards.

Lack of draught choice, prices are a little expensive but the food is good. Staff is very friendly and polite and restaurant is very clean.

Absolutely unbelievable food and wine. We had Karen, who was the best server there. Nothing was too much trouble. She always just seemed to be there when you needed her. She remembered everyone's name, which is such a simple task, but made you feel like you were special. We have been to 1891 4 times, and Karen has been our server 3 out of the 4 times. Can't wait to go back and see Karen.

Went to see a Take that tribute band. Had a wonderful meal beforehand. We were served by the amazing Trudy and Sophie. Perfect hostesses might I add. Great night. Fab atmosphere. Highly recommend.

Booked a pre-show meal prior to seeing Dara O'Briain. Arrived slightly early, ordered our meals at the same time as the drinks. After half an hour with no food I went to the bar to make sure we'd not been forgotten. The waitress said she'd check and promptly vanished. Did not see or hear from her again. Nearly an hour after we'd placed our order we went to the bar to pay for our drinks, as it was clear that our food wouldn't be served in time for the show. The bar was suddenly filled with other customers and the sole waiter behind the bar kept saying 'nothing to pay, nothing to pay'. Clearly we weren't the only ones being sent away with non-existent or incomplete meals. A free diet Pepsi didn't compensate for the fact that we had to sit through the show on an empty stomach. In anticipation of the meal we'd not eaten since midday. No apology, no explanation, no sign of management, no communication from staff. The restaurant was far from being full. Pathetic service. Will not be returning.

Went for a friend's birthday meal and George Michael tribute night. Firstly they came to the table with a prosecco and card for the wrong person. Then took the food order one medium steak one medium rare both came to the table medium rare, waitresses didn't even offer to rectify the steak was so chewy. Ellis was trying hard to apologise for the staff he's a nice guy doing his best he then offered desserts on the house. Desserts came with the candles and the waitresses singing happy birthday to me instead of my friend. Can only describe this as a catalogue of errors, please for the sake of your reputation get a good permanent quality chef, and watch your profits soar ! Only decent thing to come of this night was the George Michael tribute !

On my Birthday went to my son, friend and her kids to this lovely restaurant. I didn't make reservation, so I just thought if they busy I can go somewhere else, but the personal was very nice from beginning to the end. It was very lovely foods, drinks and deserts. I was enjoying and my companions was enjoying too. I want to say Big Thank you to Sasha and Erin for your lovely services, communication and lovely manners. Thank you so much. Restaurant looks amazing, very nice atmosphere to celebrate and just have nice meals. Thank you. My son was overjoyed.🙏🤗💞

Lovely meal enjoyed by all with a good choice of dishes at reasonable prices. Attentive staff and superb views over Rhyl beach & Sea during daylight hours. Wasn't too busy for a Saturday and didn't feel rushed. Well worth a visit when in Town.

Although we have been to 1891 several times, we decided to go to the New Year's Eve party as the tickets were reasonably priced. We had a fantastic time - food was gorgeous, entertainment was spot on and all the staff were brilliant. Thanks to the whole team - a great evening!

Booked a table for 3 for lunch. Was told staff shortages so expected a delay. There was a huge delay between ordering and receiving food. When we asked where it was, as area was not busy off they went to look. It came out cold. Had obviously been ready in time but not taken to our table. I don't mind cold pizza but loaded fries... I asked for them to be zapped in the microwave as I appreciated they were short staffed and don't normally like to moan but..... They came back warmer. All in all a poor experience. Almost £60 on food and £24 on drinks!!!! Poor experience all round. Shame as it was quite tasty apart from being cold.

Christmas Party night. Food was as expected for party nights but service and staff were excellent. Staff so well organised and friendly

Sunday 11th December, 2022, 2.30pm, family of 8 Sunday Lunch. What an exceptionally pleasant experience this was for us all. Food was amazing and so tasty, portion size very generous and all staff worked tirelessly to ensure we had an enjoyable meal. 1881 certainly never fail to deliver! We’ll done to all staff for the excellent service we received.

I booked a table with a bar manager a month ago for my mrs birthday requested food and a sea view even ordered cake with confetti to bring it in after a meal all was set up, was looking forward to it with all my family coming from all the places around the UK, to get just now a phon call 3 days before my booking date from the same manager saying they not serving food this day and he’s ringing me to give me 3 day’s notice so I can change the date for different day or giving me time to find different place in the Christmas time where all decent restaurants are fully booked for the Christmas do, what a joke that is, terrible management organisation, I would not recommend this place to anyone ! Visited before going into a show and was absolutely delighted. The views from our table was brilliant and the service was really good. My pate followed by steak was both of a high quality. Definitely a place to visit.

Lovely venue had a great night food was perfect and everyone so helpful,brilliant service will definitely go again.
